Everything is about to change for Lily Hayes and Kelvin Carter Jr.
There’s a storm coming, and it threatens to destroy everything that the couple treasures most: their friendships, their livelihood, their dreams, and their love for each other.
Without Uncle Mikey around to keep things in order, Senior, his new underboss, and his new Russian partners have taken the Carter family down a brutal, deadly, and dangerous path that can only end in one of two ways: with all of them in prison, or with all of them dead.
With an undercover agent hot on their trail, and the impending collapse of the Carter crime family, only one question remains for Kelvin and Lily… Are they strong enough to survive?

Destroying Carter is the final book in the series and as usual Mr. Greer did not disappoint!
This book had you feeling so many emotions you just had to see how everything would play out in the end. Kelvin and Lily are still dealing with Senior and he was not one to be messed with. Kelvin and Lily are so different from when we met them in Claiming Carter. It was great seeing how much they've grown as a couple, especially Lily. She proves time and time again that she has Kelvin's back no matter what..but will that be enough? You have to read to find out. The Epilogue was the perfect way to end the series..Loved it!
I've enjoyed reading this series and will miss the characters. From the suspense, the romance, love, anger, sadness, this was one hell of a ride and I enjoyed every minute of it. I look forward to what's next from Mr. Greer because I know without a doubt that its going to be amazing!
Do yourself a favor..If you haven't read this series, you need to. You will not be disappointed!
What away to end a great series. Of course I fell completely in love with Kelvin in book one but I love him even more after this book. He has this way of showing Lily that he will do anything to protect her. Every time I hear him say "I got you" it makes me fall even harder for him. Lily and Kelvin have been through so much together you start to wonder when one of them will just give up. There were so many moments I didn't see coming throughout this book. Just when you think they are going to catch a break Senior has away to take them back down. Now Kelvin needs to decide if he turns his back on his family or the woman he is in lobe with. This was my favorite of the series. I am sad to see it end but can't wait to see what is next from W.S. Greer.
I've read all the Carter Series & this one was my favorite! I loved it from beginning to end! Mr. Greer did a hell off a job with this one! I felt like I was watching a movie the whole time! I just couldn't get enough of The Carters! I didn't want it to end & at the same time I was on the edge of my sit dying to know what was gonna happen next! Loved it!!! Kelvin Jr. is even hotter in this book & Lily is a strong woman & I kind of always liked her! Now....Senior is no joke & god can only help him!
The book had it all! If you guys haven't read The Carter Series then I suggest you start now!
Loved this book. so many emotions went through this book and I was so happy things worked out for Kelvin and Lily. I was a little sad that was the end because I became so engrossed with these characters that I miss reading about them. But hopefully you will have more books published soon and I can fall in love all over again.
First let me say that Uncle Clarence made me very angry! I'm scared I may give to much away by leaving this review. I ENJOYED book 3 as well as the trilogy. W.S. Greer did a magnificent job with bringing the characters to life and the words just suck you in to the book! JOB WELL DONE!
The Carter family is crazy. Sr. Is money hungry n will get his hands on the big prize n to work with the Russian. Jr wants nothing to do with it only wants the the casino. Him n his girls are special n have a great thing going. Stop what you are doing n go read these 3 books it will keep you on your toes!!
Destroying Carter (Carter Family #3) By: W.S. Greer 4/5 stars
*This series must be read in order & this review may contain spoilers for the first two books.*
At the end of book 2, Kelvin Jr. & Lily learned that Senior had set them up and unless they gave him what they wanted & played by his rules, he would ensure that they both went to prison for a very long time. But if they did what he wanted & satisfactorily, then he would sign over the Red Chip Casino to Kelvin Jr and then he & Lily would mostly get out of “The Family” dealings.
Kelvin Jr quickly realizes that his father doesn’t necessarily play by the rules he makes up & also changes them as he goes and even goes back on what he’s said a deal would be. Six months had elapsed from the time of the end of book 2, to the beginning in this book. However this book took place over the span of a week or so.
Junior’s loyalty is tested by his father & Uncle Clarence. But the things that Junior has to do in order to convince his father, eats away at his soul. He doesn’t want to confide in Lily for her own safety. He wants her to have plausible deniability if she’s ever questioned by the cops and also his family, because this is something that they wouldn’t want her knowing. But when Junior starts keeping things bottled up & not confiding in Lily is when their relationship takes a couple rocky steps.
Lily has always been and still is supportive of Kelvin Jr because he is the love of her life and is her soulmate & future. Kelvin has always confided in her, so when he quits, she doesn’t know what to do. They have worked their relationship as partners and now, Kelvin is keeping things from her and that is completely unacceptable to her. Lily begins to question their relationship and what their future will look like if the current pattern stays the same.
Lily tries to get through to Kelvin and get him to share what is going on. But the way that she goes about it seems all wrong to me. Instead of being supportive so that he knows she will be there for him no matter what, she badgers him, she whines at him, and she yells at him. It got to the point that I just wanted her to shut up because all she was doing was causing more stress for Kelvin. And putting more stress on Kelvin takes his head out of the game and that could cost him his life because of the danger in which he lives. And she just didn’t stop! Also, she was so despondent about their situation after only 2 days that I was shocked, they had been together for a year it wasn’t like he’d been acting that way for months on end.
The ending of this book was a bit of a shocker, but ended well. I just wish that there had been an epilogue that was set a few years down the road so that we could see how Kelvin & Lily were doing, especially since this book was the end of the series.
I will be looking forward to read all your books .Please send an email every time you write a book. Wow, what an edge of my seat ride this book was. I have no fingernails left. It is a beautiful ending to a great series. I am truly gonna miss Kelvin & Lily! Great job WS. Greer!!!! Can't wait for what else you have in store for us
Great series. This book made me crazy, when I had to put it down I was stressed out about what was happening. I love Kelvin and Lily, and I am so happy how it ended. This is a must read series.
The Carter trilogy from W.S. Greer was a disappointment all in all. I would have stopped reading it if it weren't for free on kindle.
As mentioned in my first book review there were many things i didn't like or were just idiotic or boring in this series.
The plot in itself is actually a really good idea. But the performance is boring, at times ridiculously stupid, superficial and weird.
The main characters in the book are not really the brightest bulbs in the box. At times it really made me angry. I can't tell if it just was the authors choice of characters. Or if it was the implementation. For the latter, the reader gets to read at times the POV of a villain. The reasons, thoughts and future actions of the villains are revealed for the reader. But apparently the main characters didn't get that memo. Such a writing technique is pretty tough in my opinion. And this author didn't manage it for me. As most of the times the main characters appear like idiots for me as a reader. I can only speculate of the intentions of the author but for me it didn't work in regard of the main characters. It felt like watching two grown ups, acting like naive, immature kids. Having the span of memory of a gold fish. -3 seconds- Stumbling and tripping over their own two feeds in the big bad mafia world. Always believing in the good in people, although learned and pointed out the hard way countless times. There were dialogues i was ready to pull my hair at how stupid they were. Given the information the reader was given before, the actions and thoughts of the characters not 1 page prior. I marked them and was ready to put them in here, but after counting them, i decided it would be too much.
Well, tastes vary. And that is a good thing. The dirty talk during sex of these two characters was hilariously stupid. And definitely not my taste. But that i can't blame the author for.
Not a recommendation from me. There is potential tho.
PS: i read in a few reviews that the author is apparently a man. That caused some uproar. So what? That doesn't change anything at least for me. A book is a book. No matter who wrote it.
