TO CATCH A THIEFMira follows Fuzzy Dice to the city of Haxthausen, hoping to finally catch up to the legendary thief and learn the whereabouts of Wise Man Artesia. There, she teams up with Detective Wolf and his assistant Julius to capture the cat burglar once and for all. But as the trio scrutinize the clues, they can't help but wonder--could the thief be the Wise Man herself?
She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man always has been a light-hearted at times very slow-paced entertaining series with the occasional eyeroll moment especially where certain gender stereotypes are depicted (e.g. women liking sweet things and it being frowned upon when a man does to) or the occasional over-the-top anime-like behavior (in this volume primarily Fuzzy Dice). Volume 13 isn't all that different with Mira trying to confront the master thief Fuzzy Dice in her quest to find the Nine Wise Men. Admittedly, the first part contains a bit more talking then usual, making the beginning a tad boring and the interrogation scene near the end was particularly cringe, but personally I didn't mind too much even if that part felt a bit superfluous even for this series. The author's strong point is definitely not social investigations. All in all, not the best in the series, but entertaining enough for what it is: a quick popcorn read.
