Samantha True's Trouble Under The Tree: A Christmas Mystery
It’s the deadliest time of the year…
Samantha’s boyfriend, Leo, is back in town and she’s ready for some alone time with him over the holidays. Three things are preventing Sam from getting her yuletide
There’s a town hall proposition to kick Sam out of her apartment, citing her as a hazard to downtown.Santa’s body is discovered in one of the giant presents downtown, proving Santa made it onto someone’s naughty list this year, not the other way around.The murder at the Christmas market brings Wind River’s most profitable annual event and the following parade to a screeching halt.As much as Sam was really hoping to sit this case out, she’s been deputized and forced on the job before she can say ho ho no. But, really, who would kill St. Nick? And that’s not the only mystery giving Sam trouble. Parade floats are being vandalized, local Instagram cats have gone missing, and that fire bomb? That had nothing to do with her—no matter what the townspeople say.
Things snowball quickly, and soon the only thing Sam’s sure of is that she’d better unwrap this case or she’ll be getting something much worse than coal this Christmas.

It's been a while since I caught up with Sam and her propensity for diving head-first into dangerous situations. To be fair, sometimes she's outrunning a different dangerous situation when she ends up in the next, BUT STILL. Sam has an almost unparalleled ability to find herself in the middle of things most people could never comprehend.
Which causes Leo no end of distress, I'm sure!
That said, Sam really was trying to take things easy this holiday season. Finding Santa stuffed in an ornamental present was not on her bingo card and being deputized to help investigate was definitely not one of the things she wanted to deal with. But both things happened and now she's smack-dab in the middle of a murder investigation while missing Leo (who's out of town with his brother), uncovering some unsavory things around town, and trying really hard to not fret about her future.
Some serous BFF solidarity, an adorable sugar glider who has some escape-artist capabilities, shady goings on around town, a very patient boyfriend, a little danger, and Samantha True solving the case with a lot of verve, a little blood, and a chase that no one will forget. *thumbs up*
