The Government denies it. The media ignores it. But the evidence is irrefutable. Somewhere, centuries ago, a secret has been lost to time. A secret that for a brief moment in 1989 seemed on the edge of being exposed... it wasn’t Roswell!
This sci-fi novel was quite interesting. Historical combined with aliens. Conquistadors attack the Altanz village who try and keep their secret from being discovered. But the ’Obelisk’ is revealed and hence the story begins. Present day has General Jacob Fields, Retired Air Force, kidnapping a famous Hollywood director/producer, Oliver K. Stone. He needs to convince him that his story of alien ships is true. He has the proof. After a few days, Mr. Stone is finally convinced.
Young Kevin Grant, is an anthropologist working with archeologists. When in Chile, he runs into beautiful Simona Ortiz who is not who she says she is. I don’t want any spoilers here so all I can say is action, action, action… a bit of romance, intrigue, and a few raging military battles, this book has it all. And the end is surprising. Well done by this author. Hard to put down. Would make a great movie! I was given this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review.
Deborah McClatchey is one of the wonderful authors I have found on Amazon. Her work is always fresh, new, and exciting. Try Fallen Angels and you'll see, as a government cover-up, a conspiracy torn from today's headlines, and a few alien spaceships make for fascinating reading.
I really hate to spoil the party, I really do. That this book was self-published and maybe some friends were enthusiastic enough to leave glowing reviews is evident. Nothing wrong with that, there just needs to be a review to balance the scales. I did buy this book new.
This book seems like an outline of a pretty good novel. The basic premise and plot are good and solid. It's just that so much seems...left out. In a couple pages the characters and action take large shifts and leaps. There is almost no detail or explanations. There are several grammatical and spelling mistakes, for example, on page 26, "night" for "Knight". I feel like I had an abridged book? I like a thriller that gets to the point with not too much fluff, but this one leaves out too much. Maybe, the author could fill in all of the large holes in the story?
An excellent what if take on the existence of life from another planet visiting earth centuries ago and their surviving descendants now living in modern times. Plenty of first paced brutal hardcore sci fi action and adventure that will keep you immersed till the end
