How To Preach a Parable

Rate this book
During the past decade, New Testament scholars have done fresh and exciting work on the style and function of Jesus' stories. Now Eugene L. Lowry in clear, step-by-step fashion shows how he and other well-known preachers use and develop parables to create lively and interesting sermons. Eugene L. Lowry shares with us in his book parable sermons from such outstanding preachers as Fred Craddock, Leander E. Keck, and Dennis M. Willis. The sermons are presented in worshop format, encouraging useful application of the book's ideas.

I enjoyed this little book on the preaching of parables. There are not a lot of GOOD books out there on preaching the parables, so I appreciated this one. Eugene Lowry is of course a veteran preacher whose wisdom can be trusted.

This book presents the best hermeneutic for interpreting parables that I've ever read.
