One of the book’s strengths is how it explores many speculative fiction from novels short stories to animated series to explain its ideas. The author breaks down complex concepts in a way that’s easy to follow and engaging. The writing blends depth with storytelling, making it enjoyable for both academics and general readers
Thought-provoking. At first, I found the introduction somewhat repetitive, but once I got into the main chapters, the book became far more engaging and and almost impossible to put down. The author does an excellent job of presenting complex ideas in a clear and accessible way.
This sense of connection, I believe from a shared, universal feeling of being trapped in an oppressive capitalist system— which many of us can’t imagine escaping, except through some form of apocalyptic rupture. I wish I had read or at least watched all the stories mentioned in the book beforehand, so I could have had firsthand experience.
