Meet Me Over the Bridge: A Marriage of Convenience Romance

Rate this book
Cassie

Two years ago, I took a chance on a job at a startup and now it’s biting me in the tush. I got laid off, which might not be the end of the world, except that I only have ninety days to find another job that will sponsor my work visa. Otherwise, I'm going back to Canada.

My best friend, Ben—and person I harbor secret feelings for—makes me an offer I can’t refuse. So now, we’re getting married.

Nothing could possibly go wrong. Especially not when someone from my past pops up demanding attention.

Ben

My best friend, Cassie—the woman I secretly have feelings for—has recently returned to New York City. She’s couch-surfing, so when my roommate’s job transfers him to Chicago, I offer up my spare room.

And two months after her return, I find out that her visa is about to expire. So I do the only thing I can to keep her in the I marry her.

What’s fraud between friends?

Everything will be fine. And this mail that keeps showing up on our doorstep? Well, no one messes with my wife.

Meet Me Over the Bridge is a full-length, interconnected standalone romance featuring strong language, mature themes, and absentee parents. While this book is the final one in the series, Cassie and Ben get their happy ending within these pages.

A beautiful friends-to-lovers story. You can't help but hurt for beautifully broken Cassie and her cinnamon roll of man Ben. The building of the relationship and development into more than friends is written so well. The love and devotion as well as the chemistry and spice flow so well into a fantastic story of love and healing.

I’m beyond grateful for having received an ARC of this wonderful book.

Cassie and Ben’s story gave me so many feelings: it was pretty intense, emotional, a tad heartbreaking but so much romantic. Their journey was not easy, especially for Cassie. Just like Ben, I wanted to protect her and shower her with so much love. She is was quite a warrior, strong, independent and wise, fragile but Ben was there every time she bolted away. Ben was the perfect boyfriend and husband you could ever ask in a relationship. His feels for Cassie were so pure, genuine and positive. Their relationship was healthy and comfortable.

I really really loved this book, particularly how the author highlighted the importance of therapy and mental healths.

I recommend it without doubts! ❤️

Another home run romance from Veronica Wynne

I can’t say enough about the Meet Me series or Veronica’s beautiful writing.
This is the third book but as it’s an interconnected series of standalone, they can be read in any order.

I prefer to read them in release order as you sometimes see characters reappear and it’s always so wonderful to see some of your favorites return.

I love Cassie and Ben’s friends to lovers story in this marriage of convenience romance.
All contemporary romance fans need to read any and everything written by Veronica Wynne.

Oh, you know I love a good best-friends-to-lovers story, especially when it’s packed with emotional depth, just the right amount of angst, and a romance that feels earned.

Cassie and Ben? Whew. This is the kind of love that’s been there all along—rooted in friendship, built on unwavering support, and just waiting for them to finally take the leap. But crossing that line? Terrifying. Because when you’ve got something so good, the last thing you want to do is risk losing it.

And Ben? This man has been all in from the start. Even when they lived in different states, he made sure they talked every week—not just hearing Cassie, but truly listening. Understanding. Showing up for her in ways both big and small. So when she loses her job (and her work visa is suddenly on the line), of course he proposes—because there’s no way he’s letting her go.

At first, I thought Ben was too perfect. But then I realized—that’s the point. This book doesn’t lean on the usual “hero screws up, big third-act fight, they figure it out together” formula. Instead, it flips the script: what happens when your partner isn’t the problem? What if they’re supportive, attentive, and actually listen—but you’re still struggling?

Cassie has to do the work. She has to face the weight of her past, the fears that have shaped her, and the ways she’s been holding herself back. Ben can love her all he wants, but that love won’t fix everything—she has to choose healing for herself. And I LOVED THAT. Because so often, romance focuses on the couple growing together, but this book highlights something just as important: you have to be willing to grow on your own for the relationship to truly work.

Definitely my favorite book in the Meet Me series. Ben and Cassie are deeply developed, it's easy to feel connected to them. So many great bits of prose including, "For an extraordinarily brief second, I'm grateful to my traumatic past for providing me the tools I need in this moment to pretend like everything is okay.”
"Our friendship is old enough to have started puberty already." and "That's the last thing I manage before Cassie's mouth crashes into mine, hungry and full of something that feels a hell of a lot like forever."

Veronica Wynne does it again!! This final book in her first series is the best book yet by this new author. Ben and Cassie’s story is powerful, moving, and oh so relatable!

THE FEELINGS! I felt so much while reading this book. Veronica did such a good job portraying Cassie’s life and situations, especially with her father, that I felt like I was Cassie’s actual friend.

Of course this book made me cry. If you read a romance book and don’t cry, then you wasted your time reading it! I loved watching Ben and Cassie’s love unfold with each chapter and each event in their lives.

I loved that this couple had history, and it wasn’t some unrealistic insta-love story.

And last but definitely not least, this book made me LAUGH! I absolutely love reading a story with some wit and fun in it. I caught myself giggling so many times while reading this story.

Veronica Wynne is an author you want to keep your eye on. She is going places!

Veronica - thank you so much for choosing me as an ARC reader. I am honored to have this opportunity. Also, congrats on publishing this book by your birthday. You are a superstar!!

Another beautifully written and emotionally wrenching book by Veronica Wynne. This one hit close to home because it discusses narcissistic family members. I loved both MCs. Ben is so smitten, it's adorable. Cassie has some major challenges but she is a fighter. Wynne is definitely an auto-buy author for me!

A green card marriage wasn't on Cassie's bucket list, but without a job and her visa is running out, what else can she do? So she agrees to marry her best friend, Ben. What could possibly go wrong? Nothing, except falling in Love with her own husband....

Keeping the reader interested in a 500-page book isn't easy, but Veronica did it again. This is my second book written by her, and she didn't disappoint me. Thank you, Veronica, for trusting me with an ARC copy.

It was a good, emotional story that was very heavy but also sweet. it could have used more proofreading but was still readable. the ptsd rep was intense and the narcissism was very accurate and infuriating.

Oh this book has my whole heart. It all the feels. It's deep, raw, and beautiful. I am pretty sure a man like Ben doesn't exist but I wish he did. I truly only love contemporary when Veronica writes it!
