I'm blown away by this Erotic FemDom Space Opera!

I adore fantasy worlds, and the universe created by Kayla Stonor did not disappoint! This whole story was beautifully written with the perfect amount of detail... I felt completely immersed in this Sci-Fi universe without being drowned in superfluous information.

Action, suspense, violence, space travel, alien domination, & romance...

I love a good bit of kink in my erotic fiction - In any D/s story, I prefer a strong-minded sub, so watching Sonil bend General Jaden to her will was delightful to witness. Jaden is your standard military tough-guy alpha-male. It isn't in him to willingly submit to his enemy...

JADEN
Trey Jaden, five-star General of the United Regions
"You've never let Earth down, General. Think about what you just said. If you fail the Qui will come after Earth with everything they've got [...] You can't fail, General. Swallow your pride, your anger, and your hatred. Think of Earth. Do what you must for us, for the human race, for your planet. You said you would give your life for Earth,"
Jaden is a General on the front lines of Earth's war against the invading K'lahn - a lizard-like alien species hellbent on conquering our world.

The K'lahn killed Jaden's parents when he was just a boy. He has spent his entire life attempting to avenge their deaths. His exploits have propelled him to become one of the most decorated Generals in Earth's military.

He is on his way to meet with the President of Earth when he spots an enemy ship. Jaden thrives on combat and immediately engages the enemy. After shooting down the alien craft, General Jaden goes toe-to-toe with one of the strangest aliens he has ever seen.

This creature is faster and stronger than any alien he has faced before.
He's taken aback by how human she appears.
He can hardly believe how easily she stands her ground against him.

And he is floored when he is told to stand down hostilities so he can escort the blue-skinned sexpot alien to the President's palace...

SONIL
Ambassador to the Court of the Qui, Lady of Katar, First Regent to the Empire
...a wicked mistress with a penchant for corporal punishment, she scared him, enticed him, excited him to new heights of arousal, and he could never take her for granted. Each day had brought a new challenge in their dynamic of Mistress and slave. It was the most unconventional, inhuman relationship, but he couldn't her out of his head.
Gorgeous and deadly, Ambassador Sonil is no mere K'lahn, she is Qui - part of the ruling bloodline of the Qui Galactic Empire. She came to Earth on a singular mission: to extract one Human Male to serve as tribute to the Qui in exchange for a year long peace treaty between Earth and the Qui Galactic Empire... and not just any male... She wants General Jaden to serve as the tribute.

Think of it this way: Earth is offering Jaden as a sacrifice - a sexual submissive to the mysterious Queen of the Qui ('Qui' is both a species and an honorific title in this case) - Anyway, Jaden will need to prove his devotion to the Qui in order to secure the safety of his home planet.

The General will need to be broken into complete submission before he culminates with the Qui - and his actions and intentions must be honorable, because during culmination, the Qui will merge with his thoughts and know if he is anything less than completely devoted to her.

Jaden has no choice. Failure to prove his subservience to the Qui ruler will not only result in his death, but also the destruction of Earth itself. Jaden is stripped naked before his comrades and caged for delivery to the Qui's ship.

Sonil will spend their journey back to her home planet ruthlessly training General Jaden to submit to the Qui. She is strict and methodical, yet patient and fair in her punishments. The alien Sonil is a beautifully masochistic Domme, and she trains Jaden in a way that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Sonil must be diligent and graceful in her training. She must prepare Jaden for presentation at the court, but she mustn't break him of his strength of character...

Jaden will need to prove himself to his trainer, to the Qui, and attempt to save his home planet in the process. He will struggle to survive his training, and keep his emotional attachment to his trainer in check.

This book was gloriously kinky!

Now this is a book which is filled with hot domination and alien lifeforms. Jaden is a 30 something General of what used to be the United States. 30 is young, but since the world has been decimated by the Qui, it's more plausible. Jaden is a strong man who's always in command. The leaders of Earth trust him and rely on his strategy. No one is more surprised than Jaden when the Qui offer to give Earth independence if Jaden surrenders himself. The term surrender here is loosely used. Basically, Jaden a dominant male needs to submit to any treatment the Qui determines necessary to break him and make him loyal and loving of the Qui.

So basically we have a male who is being sold into slavery and in order for this to work, he has to willingly fall in love with the ruler of this alien empire. In addition, the ruler may at any point share him with other aliens of both sexes to be sexually violated. I'm sorry, exactly how is this going to work? Obviously, the Earth's leaders (which all happen to be MALES) are horrified and say no.

Yet a couple days latter they agree and Jaden's been sold off to sadistic sexual slavery. I need to clarify, the sadism in here is really more torture than it is BDSM sexual lifestyle. This is more a BDSM fantasy story than a BDSM contemporary lifestyle story. Since this is a sci-fi type story, I figured that would be obvious, but just in case, I thought I'd make it a point.

Wow - Ms. Stonor certainly knows how to torture a man. I'm impressed with what she puts Jaden through to break him down. The turning of him from enemy to friends was really impressive. This is the best enemy to lover story I've read in a long time. The sexual tension was just right. The guilt and confusion Jaden felt was perfect. I didn't really like Sonil which is why my rating is only a 4 star. Still, the systematic training Sonil (the Qui) put Jaden through was great.

The worlds Ms. Stonor created is pretty interesting. It's not fully fleshed out, but there is enough there for those who read sci-fi to fill in the blanks. It would be nice if there are additional stories in this world. I would love to see stories about Sonil's brothers and her mother. It would be interesting to see how they find Earth. I'm seeing kinky F/f, M/m and even a menage for these three characters. They don't all have to find "slaves" on Earth. There were several other worlds mentioned. It would be nice to learn more about those other worlds as well as the aliens from those worlds.

Mostly, I enjoyed this book because the femdom aspect was HAWT! Sonil is not evil. She's strict and carries out exactly what she states she will carry out. She's not exactly unemotionally, but at times, she hard to relate to and I really wanted to just kick her several times. Still, the corporal punishment and some of the bondage scenes were tasty hot. I nearly pulled out a toy for some "fun" time while reading this book.

What is best is the twist in the end which I did not predict at ALL and I LOVED! It was awesome. I highly recommend this to all my kinky friends who enjoy femdom with an alpha male.

This is my second time reading this book. The first was four years ago. In all that time, I kept thinking about this story. I finally reread it and I'm changing my rating from four to five stars. I'm also adding it to my favorites shelf because a story that stays with you for that many years is special.

Funny enough, I didn't feel like there were any plot holes this time around. I can't remember what it was four years ago. I still want to read more books from this collection. This particular one is science fiction, but not all of them are.

From the Author's Note
"...a collection (of books) focusing on ... the idea of a strong 'alpha' male having the courage to trust to surrender to a woman he grows to love, despite extreme and testing circumstances."

Let me tell you, this particular MC was sure put through some "extreme and testing circumstances."

Why do I love it so much? Maybe the shock value? Maybe the ultimate romance against all odds? Maybe after reading lovely mushy love stories for a while I simply need a palate cleanser. Something dark and forbidden. This one fits the bill.

******original 4 star review below******

I'm almost embarrassed to say how much I enjoyed this book. I honestly held my e-reader at arms length and cringed at some of the scenes. But they were such an integral part of the story that they were absolutely necessary.

It is not BDSM but contains some elements. It is not strictly romance but is a powerful love story nonetheless. I could call it erotica but that wouldn't do it justice.

ETA: After sleeping on it, I woke wondering about a couple of plot points that were not made clear. Maybe they'll be addressed in a future sequel.

*****Warning---plot spoilers*****

The description of this novel pulled me in, so I decided to go for it. Once I started reading I could hardly stop. Our hero Jaden is in a really bad spot. Being a guy reading this stuff, it got really intense for me. It would be very difficult for any man to survive/withstand the things that happen to Jaden in the course of his enslavement-domination.

Jaden is not a punk to submit lightly, especially considering his master-torturer Sonil is a member of the ruling family directly responsible for the invasion of Earth years earlier. He holds them responsible for his parents’ deaths. It’s an emotionally charged atmosphere between them.

The mission: to submit, for mother Earth. If Jaden can fully, completely, utterly, submit to the lethal and beautiful Sonil, without losing his sense of identity, then Earth is safe from invasion by terms of the Treaty.

Dude goes through hell, but he goes the distance. And he doesn’t do it for Earth, not really. In the end he does it for personal reasons. A fantastic sci-fi erotica journey of submission and domination. If you’re into BDSM and you like it graphic and violent, this is a must-read.

Prepare to hunker down for several hours once you start reading. You will not be able to stop till you finish. Seriously.

Phenomenal. Those of you who enjoy non/dub-consent, harsh punishment, and the breaking of a person without losing personality and identity will love this. Jaden is an exceptionally strong character - alpha male and then some. Sonil, who is training him for the Qui, is relentless. The torture is graphic and heavy so if that bothers you stand back now. I loved the SciFi aspects and they don't overwhelm the story. Jaden is not a submissive - so this is not a story where the submissive suddenly comes "out" of someone - he is made to submit due to pain and mind fuck. I would love to read more in this universe.

FemDom is not my favorite type of story but it just works wonderfully here. Sonil is a match for Jaden in all ways as far as training - she knows just how far she can take him. If you enjoyed Power Play: Resistance and Power Play: Awakening and can handle F/m then this one is most definitely worth the $1.00 I paid. There are a few small editing pieces and the beginning is a bit confusing - but that did not detract in the slightest from this fascinating, addicting story!

General Jaden, by nature a dominant male, is betrayed by his President and handed over to the Qui as a bribe to save Earth from decimation. Sonil the Qui leader wants Jaden as her submissive consort, to willingly make love to her and obey. She is one mean lizard-like lady who hates lies with a passion and expects instant obedience. If this doesn't happen punishment is swift and cruel. Due to his dominant nature, submission does not come easy and Jaden is tortured quite mercilessly when he refuses to obey. Eventually Jaden breaks and then comes the twist in the story. The twist is very clever and well done.

Femdom is not normally on my reading list however due to the great reviews of this book by my GR friends I decided to test the waters. I was definitely rewarded for my bravery by a story with great world-building and characterisation. Jaden wasn't a snivelling submissive pining for humiliation but a man who submitted with dignity. I will still be picky in my femdom reads but will definitely try more by this author.

I recommend this book to all who like sci fi with a dark side.

For the last thirty years, Earth's population has been decimated and terrorized by the K'lahn, members of a reptilian race belonging to the powerful Qui empire.

As a child, Trey Jaden witnessed his parents die at the hands of the savage K'lahn and vowed he'd make them pay. Now in his thirties, he's risen to the rank of a three star general. His prowess on the battlefield is a thorn in the eye of the ruling Qui imperial family; a shapeshifting race who rules hundreds of worlds.

Imagine his shock when his president hands him over to Qui ambassador; Sonil, as Earth's tribute. Her mission: Turn him into a willing, subservient consort/sex slave - to be freely shared with members of the Empress' court at her whim. Only by proving his total devotion in a ritual known as Culmination, will Earth be safe from total annihilation.

Sonil wastes no time training her new prisoner to the empress' exacting standards. But is it even possible to make a proud and unwilling alpha male submit to the degrading, often painfully horriffic tortures Sonil inflicts upon him. Be warned, her methods are not for the faint of heart. There is torture, degradation; meant to break his stubborn nature.

But Jaden is not weak, and despite his resentment, he begins to fall for his attractive trainer. And the attraction is reciprocated. The Qui have mastered their pheromones and routinely use them to manipulate their subjects into submission. Surprisingly, ambassador Sonil discovers that the primitive human male's unruly pheromones has the same effect on her. Soon, captor and captive find themselves trapped by their own lust, rigid Qui traditions and their own unwillingness to adapt. Can a Qui and human find common ground, or will pride ultimately prevail?

I loved Under By Treaty. Not the torture, mind you, that aspect was hard to stomach. I found myself thinking that I would rather have sacrificed Earth than endure what Jaden went through. Fortunately, Jaden is made of sterner stuff. The training sessions served a purpose: They highlighted the enormous cultural obstacles Jaden had to overcome, and showed the depth of their devotion. Ultimately, it showed that willing submission can be more powerful than any power held by a human general.

I was happy to hear that this book will get a sequel, hopefully it will deal with the pheromone issue as well as how Earth fares as the newest member of the Qui empire. Hopefully, other members of Sonil's family will get their own novels as well. (Sounds like K'rista could need a whiff of delicious human pheromones, and progressive Fitar, well he was my favorite Qui prince;-))

In the mean time, I can't wait to read the next Qui novella; Restrain By Treaty. It sounds delicious:-)

Wow this story blew me away, I’m really not sure where to start. It wasn’t what I expected, not that I am entirely sure what that was. Well, I originally put my hand up to read to review when I noticed it tagged as ‘femdom’! The heroine was definitely a kick-ass strong female/alien but I would not class her as a ‘domme’ per say.

That out of the way, this story was wonderfully written; the world and character building magnificent, I could literally see the story unfold before my eyes.

Jaden’s training was brutal and not for the faint of heart, with that came some non/dub consent so reader be warned. The consensual sex between Sonil and Jaden was smoking hot. It made a pleasant change to read about a heroine who wasn't afraid to ask for what she wanted, and took as much as she gave!

I am not normally a huge fan of sci-fi type stories as I often find myself lost and struggling to follow the plot. That was not the case with this story, it was so well written.

Would I recommend this story? YES
Do I intend to read more by this author? YES

I enjoyed this sci-if story more than I thought I would.
Jaden's a dominant male general is offered by U.S. Government, or sold out, to a ruling galactic house of the Qui. Their Ambassador Sonil has sequestered Jaden as part of her treaty to avoid war and destruction of planet Earth. Jaden has been 'bought' to be trained as absolute submissive consort to the Qui. How does a dominant man, a general who hates the K'lan and Qui end up submitting through some terrible times of discipline, bondage and torture and fall in love with...Sonil, erm, did I say Ambassador? Readers will find out. Along with the other nice little twists and turns that Kayla Stonor has incorporated in her book.

I'm not necessarily a space/sci-fi genre lover, yet found this a good read and to me it made sense of the medical technology used as now cutting edge or futuristic and also the technology described.
Have definitely gone off worms and nearly had the screaming ab dabs at that...you have been warned.
The sexual scenes were well written and erotic.
So I want to read more, and see Kayla's follow on stories. I have to rate this as a good 4 stars, not quite a five for me.

I loved this book. I am not normally interested in male submission as I love my alpha males but the author manages to keep General Jaden's alpha intact even when he is reluctantly bending to the will of the alien Ambassador.

The training scenes in this story are well done and creative. I was totally caught up in how far Sonil could push Jaden without breaking him. I thought is was a nice balance here between his submission and strength of will. AND I always love stories that surprise me with a twist.

I loved this story. 4.5 stars.

Ahem ... is it hot in here? I read this story based on a recommendation from a reviewer that I trust. I'm so glad I did! Let me first say that I don't usually read F/m, as I find the rampant humiliation and sissyfication stuff typically found in this sub-genre just turns me the hell off. (No offense to those who love that though:)

Luckily for me, this story manages to thread the needle so to speak (the male still submits -- utterly -- but he is NOT ground into dust nor treated like a disgusting piece of filth). This difficult feat is accomplished through the use of the alpha submissive concept. Essentially, an alpha submissive can be described as a man who is normally dominant, but during the course of the story one special Domme figures out a way to bend him to her will -- willingly, or otherwise.

I won't rehash all of the plot, as others have already done it quite well. The hero, General Jaden, is a hardened, bad-ass soldier, and the thought of submitting to anyone or anything is as alien to him as the mysterious and deadly invaders who've laid waste to large swathes of a future Earth. Kayla does a good job in setting the stage for what transpires later in the story, firmly establishing that Jaden doesn't submit to anyone willingly.

Enter Sonil, a beautiful, bewitching, and (despite her frequently indulged penchant for dishing out some serious pain), ultimately vulnerable heroine as the Domme. I loved her, and as a dominant male, that takes some doing for me to connect so strongly to a Domme in erotic fiction.

Sonil knows just how far she can push Jaden before he simply breaks. Make no mistake here -- she takes him to the very edge ... and leans him right over the precipice for a good look down. But just when the reader might be overwhelmed with all of his pain and despair (there is quite a bit of both), we start to see that despite Sonil's outward stony strength, Jaden is getting to her too -- on several levels. The climax of the story was definitely unforeseen, but not in a deus ex machina way -- it's organic to the story, and makes sense.

I did have a little bit of trouble with the frequent, short sentences, which occasionally chopped up the flow for me. But, this is entirely a taste thing with me -- I imagine most readers won't be bothered in the least by it. A very, very minor quibble on my part:)

The content and sexual themes of the book are reminiscent of Joey W. Hill's femdom titles, though Kayla takes the BDSM here to another level (in a very HOT way, I might add). Fans of Ms. Hill would be wise to add Kayla Stonor's books to their TBR lists.

Readers should heed well the warnings in the product description -- this is not light BDSM fare by any stretch of the imagination. Kayla fucking BRINGS IT here.

Overall, I thought this was an outstanding book; well-written, thought-provoking, smokin' hot, and ultimately, touching. For those of you willing to take a walk on the dark side of sexuality and experience a journey filled with lust, pain, pleasure, surrender, and love, you will not be disappointed with this story. Definitely recommended.

I liked this book. I give it a 3.75. Before I read this, I noticed some reviewers shelved it as dub-con and I hoped that wouldn’t bother me. I usually don’t read dub-con books. However, this book did not bother me because the sci-fi elements and the specific plot situation (which I won’t spoil for you) made it all less dub-con.

One of the things I really enjoyed about this book was the plot twists and turns. At times I would relax, thinking I knew where the story was going and suddenly be surprised with an unexpected twist. Those unexpected twists were fun and kept me wanting to read more.

My favorite parts of the book were when the General was fully being “the General”. I liked the banter between Sonil and General Jaden at those times.

For me, the BDSM elements were not lifestyle BDSM, but a necessary evolution of their relationship (in this future alien world). The BDSM-ish scenes were more behavior modification/compliance training necessary to the plot. The author does a really good job writing those scenes and showing how both MC’s react emotionally. I felt Sonil embrace more humanity through the book. As their relationship progressed, her emotions during Jaden’s “punishments” felt authentic.

If there are future stories, I would love to hear more about Sonils mother. She seems like she would be an outrageous character. I feel like this future world could be further developed in subsequent books. There is definitely a solid groundwork in place for more stories.

I would recommend this book to sci-fi readers as long as they were not squeamish about pain scenes or torture. I hope to read more from this author in the future.

I won this book. I chose it from a list of books up for prizes, but I'm not sure I truly understood what this book was about. After seeing the disclaimer at the beginning about torture and non/dub-con, I was worried it was going to be way outside my comfort zone. I generally prefer fluffy reads.

That said, however, I was pleasantly surprised by how good this story was. And while the torture and non/dub-con made me wince a bit, it wasn't too overwhelming for my fluffy brain. I really enjoyed watching Sonil and Jaden's relationship grow. I kind of felt bad that it took breaking Jaden for him to truly embrace his attraction to Sonil, and I felt bad for Jaden when he made mistakes and felt horrible that he'd let Sonil down. Sure, he didn't want the punishment either, but he was really disappointed in himself when he let her down.

I have to say that Jaden's original plan was pretty good. It's too bad that it backfired on him. I thought that the story was ending on an HEA around 73% but then stuff happened and I realized more was going to happen, and it was a little heart-breaking to "watch". Everything worked out in the end, but it took a bit to get there.

Definitely glad I read this one. Maybe it'll give me the confidence to try something else I think may be outside my comfort zone.

Oh I did love this story. Which has greatly surprised me. I don't normally do aliens and this is the first fandom story I have read, but this was fantastic and exceeded all my expectations.
It starts with an introduction to the characters in the unusual way that they fight each other. The idea being that both hate each other, they are natural enemies because of past circumstances. Both have something to gain out of beating the other. The open hostility towards each other is clear through out the book, and then the developing/changing situation of their relationship.
I thought I would hate to read the degradation of k'rista, with him being such an alpha male, but strangely I enjoyed this part, and how he was totally degraded, but this experience was used by him to build up his knowledge and love for sonil.

I've dropped half a star, this for me is a firm 4.5 stars !!!only because at times i found the new names, planets, races etc just really confusing. The story requires this to make it believable, but I got very confused at times, as to who was what and who was doing what. I loved the ending..that was just so fitting, great way to conclude a book like this.
But over all I loved this story, and I would read it again, and definitely more from this author.

I was given this book by the author as part of the BDSM r2r challenge, in exchange for an honest review.

This is second book in Surrender Series. I didn't think Ms. Stonor could top the previous book boy was I mistaken. Ms. Stonor shows that she knows how to write books on surrender so completely. I didn't think the heat could be ratched to another level yet I was proven wrong time and time again. Here are my thoughts on this exceptional book:

Earth is in trouble General Jaden knows that the Qui will stop at nothing to destroy his beloved world. General Jaden has proven time and time that he can stop the Qui from doing any more damage. The Qui Ambassador Sonil is offering Earth one final chance to submit to their rule or face annihilation of Earth. Ambassador Sonil wants General Jaden to submit to Qui training but she doesn't just want his submission but also his heart too. General Jaden is learning that it's not just his submission that Ambassador Sonil wants but he's not sure even he can submit to her demands even to save Earth from annihilation. General Jaden is subjected to things he's never experienced before but he's growing to love Sonil which confuses him. Will General Jaden submit to protect Earth? What will the Qui be like? Can General Jaden be what Sonil wants? Your answers await you in Under By Treaty.

I'm definitely looking forward to reading Locked in Torture by this author. Yet I think I need to find my hubby for some special one on one time. Laters!

I have to admit--I picked this book up for the cover. The idea of all that power being held submissively was intriguing to me. And that is what the book was about. I love military men, and here was a man making the ultimate sacrifice. This book has quite a twist in the plot that you will not see coming, which is a rare (and pleasant) thing for someone like me that reads a lot of books. I liked that the female character was strong--his equal, even, if not more. And the scene on the cliff was very touching, as she finally revealed her vulnerable side. It underscored that being submissive is truly a willingly voluntary act. She could not have forced it on the planet any more than on the General. But when given willingly, it is a beautiful relationship.I left the book feeling that there was much to explore on this planet, and so many more tales to be told. I think the reason for only giving it three stars is because I did not come into the story expecting a SciFi novel. But once I got used to that idea, I really liked it.

The story, plot line and characters are top notch though this was my first story reading a strong female inflicts severe punishments and physical training to a submissive male against his will. The scenes are hot but the torture and his breaking down was too much for me (to be fair I would not have liked it in a female character either). Not my cup of tea but I did enjoy Kayla's overall style a lot. You really can identify with how Jaden initially fights in his head and then slowly submits. The male on male scenes were not overly graphic but it did seem a little odd in the flow of it. I look forward to reading this author again but perhaps a story without aliens. Lots of raw emotion that I did not except and would recommend to a friend who was more into the sci-fi genre. Must admit that the spanking of Jaden's ass was the hottest part! A 4 out of 5 star review!

Femdom has just gone to a whole new level! Sonil put Jaden through some very painful torture, all in the name of training him to submissively stand by the side of the Qui Queen as a consort of sorts. In exchange the Queen would spare Earth from invasion and destruction. I cringed and gasped many times, but it was not gross and, in fact, as Jaden managed to survive each new trial and punishment for failure, Sonil began to show some caring. It was fascinating to watch the relationship evolve.

Interesting characters with depth, twists and turns in the plot, and a hard won HEA. Loved it!

Literally my first femdom romance, and what took me so long? Effectively written, fast-going and straight-forward pulpy fun with some aliens, light torture, d/s and s/m themes. But... I snobbishly crave a little something more than instalust and formula writing these days. I might dip another toe into the femdom genre, although I'd much prefer the F to not be a supernaturally strong alien woman, that can easily overpower her alpha man victim with her supermassive strength and hocus pocus sex pheromones alone. Because where's the fun in that?

I received this book from the author for free in exchange for an honest review.

I have never read anything from this author before but am very happy that I have at this time. I was drawn into the story from the very beginning and started to form a liking for the characters right then. All the characters were very dynamic with strong personalities that made you want to follow and find out what they would do next. The language seems perfect for the world that they inhabit and for the characters. Considering the fact that this is science fiction the earth they live on and the galaxy they travel to are real enough to truly visualize. The fact that the story is told from the point of view of both main characters is the perfect way to have the story told.

General Jaden has been fighting the war against the K'lahn for many years since the deaths of his parents at their hands. He hates them and wants nothing more than to destroy them. But when he is given to them for their Empress he learns that there may be things that he never knew about this species. Ambassador Sonil comes to Earth in order to broker a treaty that would give her Jaden as a consort in exchange for Earth retaining its freedom. She wants his devotion, he wants to strike a blow to the empire. They both get more and less than they bargained for.

I got some of everything I like in this story with sex, aliens, war, undercover operatives, and a lot more. I am totally into this story and am happy to follow along as it unfolds. I think everyone should give this a try. There is some explicit violence and torture scenes which might not be for everyone. This is pretty hot also! Highly recommend!

General Jaden comes in as powerful and dominates as any military-alpha-male would. He despises the K'lahn for their hostile infiltration of Earth and the massive amounts of loss, to his own family as well as the entire cities. To find that now, he has to allow an Ambassador to come speak to his President about a trade treaty, has Jaden at this breaking point. But when Sonil lands and they face one another, not only is he awe-struck at this incredible creature, he wants her at the same time he wants to get her off his planet. When she offers a treaty to the President in exchange for a token, ok a tribute, (namely General Jaden) to pledge devotion and consummate a relationship with the Qui Empire...let's just say things get interesting and quick!! The training is intense and orgasmic as well as brutally raw and enough to shake even the once proud general to his knees. With the addition of bits of BDSM and pushing limits, will Sonil be able to break through to the General? or will she just break him? The angst and lust rolling of Sonil and Jaden are intense and as much as he fights to remain unaffected, he finds that she has slowly worked her way into his heart...But will it be too late? Will it be enough when the time comes to say Earth? Or will they destroy one another in the process??

This is a great beginning to this series and I can't wait to read more about the Qui Empire and its plans for Earth! #mustread #TeamSonil #orgasaminflight #fallinlove #painandpassion #eroticromance #paranormalromance #lizardlovin

After an altercation with K’lahn Ambassador Sonil on a mission to make treaty with earth, General Jaden of the United Regions finds himself unwillingly extradited into her custody. He is to be given to the Empress Sonastra to serve as her consort in return for peace with Earth. While in transit to the K’lahn Capital, Jaden is trained by Sonil to serve the Empress’s every whim all the while being subjected to cruel punishments for any disobedience or lapses in etiquette. While under her instruction Jaden finds himself falling for this alien beauty and finds himself torn when the time comes for him to be given up to the Empress.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the interaction between the two main characters and the way it was written. It was descriptive but not overly so and flowed easily allowing the reader to immerse themselves into the story. My only issue was a couple of typos at the beginning but other than that a really good book. I’d give it a 5.

I don't usually read erotica. In fact there are only two writers in the genre that I favour and Ms Stonor is one of them. The difficulty I have is that erotica storylines are usually predictable and hackneyed.

However, this author, while dealing with some pretty strong sexual and violent elements, also tells a good, imaginative tale - this time in a science fiction setting. Also the lady can write!

So if you feel like sampling some fairly heavy stuff, this is an excellent place to start.

Delicious book. At times violent, with some BDSM elements (which I actually like) and always exciting. I wouldn't call the romance sweet, but there is a strong chemistry between the characters and it works. The sci-fi part was great but still need to have some more development. I am looking forward to reading more from Kayla Stonor.

UNDER BY TREATY

Release Date: September 9, 2014

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

*** This book contains scenes of graphic sex and violence and is NOT suitable for readers under the age of eighteen.***

Only in his early 30s, Five Star General Jaden has reached the top of Earth's military.

Set in a post-apocalyptic future, humans are fighting against invasion by The K'lahn.

The K'lahn are a race of shape-shifting, reptilian creatures with advanced technical capabilities and an uncanny ability to be undetectable. Ten years ago, the K'lahn "wiped out the old command base" and even before that, when Jaden was a child, they "...had devastated a good portion of the metropolitan areas of Earth using brute force."

When Jaden shoots down a K'lahn ship, he is surprised to find that it's female occupant had survived. More surprising is her declaration that she has been granted diplomatic immunity by Earth's President and that she has come to Earth to establish a truce between the two species.

Despite his curiosity he feels an instant physical attraction to the first female K'lahn he has ever encountered. But physical attraction did not matter. "These lizards were trying to wipe humanity from the face of the planet. They deserved nothing more than death, the same they had dealt to millions of people, including his parents."

The alien ambassador says that they will offer Earth a truce if Jaden will offer himself willingly and completely to the Qui ruler.

Sonil (the Qui Ambassador) does not just want Jaden's superficial obedience, she wants his complete and utter devotion.

Jaden is caged and tortured and quickly learns just how far Sonil will go to achieve her goal.

This book will surprise readers. Is there sex? Yes. Are there scenes of bondage and torture? Yes. But that is not all this story is about.

Kayla Stonor has imagined an entire galaxy filled with multiple planets; all with their own indigenous populations with their own cultures and beliefs. She has essentially created not just one new species, but several. She has also described the Qui as the rulers of many of these planets and detailed the complexities of how each planet and that planet's needs and wants are governed by the Qui.

What at first seems to be little more than just another BDSM space opera quickly morphs into much more than that. Yes, there are sex scenes and even torture scenes, but this is NOT a BDSM novel. Lovers of science fiction and space operas should give this book a try. It is the beginning of a series that definitely has me intrigued. I believe that the next books in the series will have less BDSM-type scenes. I believe they will focus more on the romance aspect as well as the development of the politics and alien cultures that were introduced in this book. This is intriguing and I am looking forward to reading more of this series.

I did note at the beginning of this review that this book is for ADULTS ONLY. It does contain some scenes that I could have done without, but even the scenes that disturbed me had a purpose in the grand design of the culture that Jaden has found himself in.

When you are reading this book, my recommendation is that even if you think you know what will happen next, and you think you have the story all figured out - think again. There are several surprising twists in this book and readers will be pleasantly surprised with each of them. It is rare for me not to have the entire story figured out by the middle of a book, but UNDER BY TREATY surprised me. It is not just a story of sex, it is not just a romance, it is not just a science fiction story, this book is a mixture of many genres is a creative work of art.

Psychology, science fiction, drama, erotica, politics, military strategy, medical ethics, human behavior, dystopian themes, romance, evolution, government, space travel, space exploration, law and order and personal relationships are all themes tackled in this book. In my opinion it is definitely worth reading.

Also, it is important to note that while this book is part of a series, each novel is a stand-alone book.

I rate this book as 4 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I really liked this book by new-to-me author Kayla Stonor, which surprised me. It is sci-fi erotica/erotic romance which had some elements that may prove to be really intense for some: nonconsensual/dubious consent, femdom, humiliation, rape, very mild bestiality, captivity/slavery, sex with a shapeshifting flying alien, some torture. For me, it was not too bad but I could have used something more; for example, the interrupted m/m sex x 2 (AUTHOR, YOU TEASE! *frustrated and disappointed*). It is an enemies to lovers relationship that was almost 100% believable. I just thought that Sonil and Jaden fell in love in what seemed to be a short period of time, especially Jaden in his position, which lowered the believability a bit. It depicted a femdom relationship with an alpha male whose alpha-integrity remained intact; I loved that. Sonil also proved to be a strong, capable female with some neat tricks such as superhuman strength and speed, pheromone magic, and ability to sense emotions. I liked that as well.

There was a twist mid-way that I did not expect. It might have proven to be a really interesting place to end the story, actually, but I suspect I might be in the minority with that impression. From that point on, I started feeling a bit anxious about how the story would turn out. I felt BAD for Sonil, and Jaden's struggle to come to terms with his loyalty to Earth and his feelings for Sonil was a dilemma I knew I would have difficulty with (which is why I tend to prefer non-con without the HEA). Nonetheless, the story did result in a HEA that felt believable; I liked the ending.

This story had me eager to check out what other stories this author might have written. I will definitely read her again.

I adore FemDom and strong female lead characters, so Under by Treaty by Kayla Stonor sounded like a good bet and landed the spot as my new read. The story was beautifully written with the right amount of detail to give a reader understanding of alien culture(s) encountered. This kind of restraint provided a good connection to the story and characters.

As part of a treaty negotiation and to save Earth from a catastrophic alien invasion by the K'lahn, Trey Jaden is chosen to serve as tribute to the K'lahn ruling class in exchange for a year long peace treaty between Earth and the Qui Galactic Empire. General Jaden will need to prove his devotion to the Qui in order to secure his safety and prevent the of Earth.

There is a fair amount of kink as the Qui Ambassador puts Jaden through his paces during training. In this case, the Dub-Con was right on the doorstep of Non-con as the male protagonist endured humiliation, sexual slavery, belting, caning, buttplugs and a couple of rapey situations among other things. Jaden is a strong-minded, alpha male type, so he can't willingly submit to his enemy. This has the effect of making the training sequences riveting.

I enjoyed the book and found it both engaging and easy to read. The characters were sympathetic and I found it easy to connect to them. The best part was that there were surprises, but nothing jarring enough to throw me out of the story. Under by Treaty is good and easy to recommend.
