Kami seems to have it all. A great paying job in Human Resources for the City of Chicago, money in the bank, a closet full of high-end fashions and the man of her dreams. The only thing is her “man” has a woman and child at home. Deon can have any woman he wants and spends his time between his two favorite girls; Zena, the mother of his child and Kami the woman that his heart truly beats for. It is all love, fun and games for Kami and Deon until she gets knocked up for the third time. Hell bent on being happy and finding a love of her own, Kami packs up and leaves Chicago to have her baby in solace. When Kami finds out the man that holds the key to her heart was slated to marry his baby mother she makes her way back to her hometown to reclaim what should have been hers.
Overall this was a decent book a great read I would recommend it to anyone especially someone that is a side chick think before you jump off into something
Oh my! What can I say about Kami but I was shocked at her request in the beginning. Deon had her so spoiled that his simple minded behind agreed. It was a little surprising that Kami continued dealing with Deon through everything. Deon finally got a taste of his own medicine once he invited Marvell. He clearly didn't like the feeling once the shoe was on the other foot. I swear Deon went crazy after their trip. I can honestly say I thought for sure Kami would try taking things further with Marvell but they both showed their loyalty to Deon by not overstepping any boundaries. Zena seemed so sweet and innocent in the beginning. I couldn't understand why she put up with everything all because a child was involved. I was even surprised Zena and Kami hit it off. Then there's Ahmad. He truly seemed like a breath of fresh air for Kami. Kami finally wised up and left but for how long? Poor Deon! It took the one he loved moving away to realize just who had his heart but I was mad he was so willing to settle. Man that wedding was epic and the crazy thoughts Deon was having didn't make it any better. Alright now Kami! What a happy ending for someone that was once a sideline hoe. All that time I was feeling sorry for Zena but that ending had me feeling like she got what she rightfully deserved for being trifling. There were a few errors and character mixups but all in all, job well done! Can't wait to see what's happening in part 2.
This is just what Kami was. I can't believe how the side chick was glorified. Let's start with the wuss Deon. First he was weak and had no control over the situation, especially the trip to Jamaica. Then to not even to be honest about any of it when it's in his best interest. To go back and forward with his emotions, wishy washy. Then to try to make Zena look like a hoe and a sorry mother, how lowdown can you get? And finally, he's a crybaby. At the beginning I really liked Deon, but by the end of the book, I had lost all respect for him as a man. Kami. Her actions with Marvall made me see her as a sultry hoe. Not only that he stayed on her mind and she maintained contact with him. When something happened, Marvall was the one who stopped. Three pregnancies with someone else's man. Wow. Midway through the book, I thought she was redeemable, but at the wedding that went out the door. She came off at Zena as if Zena was wrong. Kami you are the cheater, you are the manipulator, you could have done that so many ways, but Kami chose the tacky way.Kami and Deon deserve each other. Karma is not nice. Definitely recommended.
Le'Vonne definitely knows how to bring the drama!!!
A good read & I really like this author's wiring style. This book had me feeling all type of ways. I was like oh hell no she didn't even fix her mouth to go to Jamaica not to mention him giving in to that foolishness & masking it okay for her to even go. Kami knew exactly what she was getting into so I didn't feel bad for her when things went crazy for her. Deon bothered me just cause he felt like he had to stay for the child's sake. If he wasn't such a dog maybe the outcome would have been different. This was my very first read by Le'Vonne but it definitely won't be the last!! I was so not prepared for that ending though...Sideline Hoe book 2 here I come!!!
Actual rating is a 3.5. This was a really good fast paced story. There was quite a few errors and a character mix up towards the end of the story. The hook up scene between Zena and Deon, I read before in another book that was released years ago. Other than those things I truly did enjoy the story. I love how even tho Kami was tempted quite a few times throughout the story, she remained loyal to Deon. I also love how she explained that while her fairy tale came true, that's not always the case with other sidelines lol. Cuz of course there will be one who just knows she is gonna get "her" man. My interest was piqued enough to want to read the next story in this series. Can't wait to see what shenanigans pop up
Will the side line chick ever be the main chick go ahead take this journey to find out if that will be the case for Kami or will Zena do everything in her power to keep her man Dion. Now this was some crazy stuff all I can say is what a chick won't do to keep her man. I loved this story and felt the pain these ladies with through with this man. Job well done.
This book was good. Deon is a typical selfish man. Kami was stupid for love but her story is a good example of how a side chick can replace the main chick. I felt bad for Zena until she gave her insight at the end. I wanted Kami to end up with Ahmad but she couldn't let go of Deon.
This book was something else indeed. Deon wanted his cake and ice cream. He was playing a dangerous game with both of these women's hearts. That ending really shocked me. I can't believe that Zena was who she was. Who was the real sideline home, Zena or Kami? This is a must read. Now on to part 2. Great job Le'Vonne
From page one this story held my attention. I liked Kami. Marvelle was funny as hell lol. Deon got on my nerves wanting his cake and ice cream. He lost his dag on mind. Glad everybody got what they wanted in the end. That twist with Zena shocked me though I was not ready for that smh. She need her tail whooped. Great read !
So, I usually don't care for the sideline's but I couldn't help but like Kami! Her character was a fool but like able lol!!! She also was very relatable. I believe that all the characters were well developed and placed exactly where they needed to be. As far as Zena, I was feeling sorry for her...but the ending made me change my mind Lol!
I was surprised by this book. I was hooked from page 1. Kami is a side chick who will do anything for her man. Deon is her married man who can't seem to choose. I like how Kami took control of her own destiny finally. She was really determined to get her man. Looking forward to book 2.
It got my attention, it was pretty dramatic band cool, But the character mix ups. I think if she would of let us know how the other relationship were I would of felt betting about her winning him.... And I low key wanted her to bone his homie just for more drama.. But Ian going to read book 2
I read his book in one day!! This book was good from beginning to end. I can't wait for part 2. This is the first book I have read from this author and I must say she done a great job I will be reading more of her work!
What a dumb ending. Really didn't care for any of the characters...Kami needs her azz kicked regardless for claiming Deon when she did. The author got tripped up towards the end with the names. I am glad this didn't become a series.
From start to finish this was a great book,it keeps you intrigued, it held my attention from beginning to end first time reading this author work and wasn't disappointed at all!!!
Just when I started to feel sorry for Zena....a complete 360!! Wow!! You just never know how trifling people can really be or the lengths they go to for their hidden agendas!! No respect or understanding for people like Zena!!
This was a very good read that held my attention from beginning to end. This is my first read by this author. I absolutely enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to part 2.
First read from this author and I was pleasantly surprised great storyline the characters all made sense and the ending was at all what I expected..Great job author
A well written surprise, A unexpected treat, This book has some surprises in store for the reader and the ending was a real shocker. The author did a great job keeping me interested.
