This bad boy has betrayed almost everyone in his life—including the girl falling for him...he just doesn’t know it yet.
If I had to use one word to describe the last few years, it’d be stupid. I was stupid to trust my father that he’d changed. Stupid to turn my back on everyone who loved me to take his side. But now he’s back in prison and I have a lot to make up for. So many apologies to make. I’m trying to be better. Redeem myself. Maybe it’s misplaced guilt that compels me to take in a broken graffiti artist. There’s just something about her with that huge chip on her shoulder and pain in her eyes. She’s way too young for me, and I know I’m heading for disaster. See? Stupid. Apparently I still haven’t learned my lesson because I don’t care.

It's quite a while since I read a book in the Burns Brothers series, so I was quite excited to see that there was a new one out. Grind tells the story of the youngest brother, Dylan. He's spent his whole life feeling out of place and now he's doing his best to put things right. When he meets Indy, a young woman who's just as messed up as he is it gives him some purpose. I loved the way that, despite the imbalance between them, Dylan realised that and made sure that things were redressed. I really enjoyed this fifth instalment in this series. My only slight issue with the book is that it felt a bit rushed in parts and I would have liked to have a bit more of Indy and Dylan.
This was a solid 4 stars. Very much worth the read. It was so good. My hang up is personal. The age gap is only 8 years but she is 19. I always struggle when the one character isn’t even old enough to drink. Before 21, they’re just too young in my mind. But like I said, personal. I also hate age gaps over 13 years so maybe it’s just a me thing. Otherwise, this was such a bittersweet story with a HEA. Heart breaking for both of them. I do agree with the other review— I want a bonus epilogue 5+ years in the future so we can see what it looks like for every character including aunt Wendy! Other wise, good book and great series.
** there were a few typos throughout. Usually that drives me insane but since the story line didn’t have detail errors and stayed consistent throughout the series I easily over looked them and they didn’t bother me. A huge feat.
I have really enjoyed this series and had been awaiting Dylan’s story and now it’s finally here. I what a great ending for the series …. Loved it so much!
