A week ago, John Duggan had it all: married with a beautiful four month-old daughter; career on the up; and nice house in a good area of Southampton. But behind closed doors, his wife is cheating on him; his daughter’s relentless screaming deprives them of sleep; and he drinks heavily.

Struggling to maintain balance in his life, cracks start to appear. Unable to deal with the mounting pressure, he hires a private investigator to spy on his wife. He is prepared to do anything to maintain the idyll.

As the conclusion of Duggan’s trial looms, he must come to terms with what he has done and why he is facing a life behind bars. He is about to learn a valuable lesson: not every fairy tale has a happy ending…

Betrayal, revenge, regret and suspense: TELL NO LIES is a heart-breaking thriller, exploring what fathers will do when driven to desperation.

(Also considered a standalone novel.)

I made it almost halfway in this book but then deleted it with the hump. There were some atrocious spelling mistakes which grabbed my attention too much such as eek for eke, sole for soul, hangar for hanger, sites for sights, bugar for bugger, heroine for heroin and then the final straw was changing a person's name 3 times in a page. She was Kirsten, then Dawn and then back to Kirsten again. I switched off in disgust at this point.
I only made it this far and gave it 2 stars as opposed to 1 because the actual tale was a good one and I liked the way John viewed the world. He shared a lot of the opinions I have, but in the end the errors outweighed the pleasure aspect of this book. A pity. For the sake of some decent proof-reading it would have maybe been a 5 star read !!

Got halfway through this book but could not continue with it. I enjoy audible books as they help me to relax and a good narrator is vital! This narrator sounded like old man steptoe, it was atrocious, at some points i could hear that he had spit gathering in his mouth as he read, there were also many mistakes in his reading, pronunciation is also important, totally ruined this book and it has been deleted, wont be buying any books narrated by this person again

Decent tho it drags

I enjoyed the story. Tho the writing could have been....different. Such long in depth descriptions was at times exhausting, yet yearning for the end kept me trudging along. Final confrontation was a shocker, so I enjoyed that very much. Will continue to read this authors works....

Excellent story!

This is my first Edger novel and I was very impressed by a number of things. I really appreciated how the author tied so many things together, and still finished the story where he started. This is a very well written story and the plot lines, characters, relationships, as well as twists and "hints" of other things is so very well done. I'm going to add Edger to my reading list.

Ok

The story was ok and overall it wasn't bad. I didn't really like the pace the book took. The way the scenes and actions were described I think went a little too far in mundane minute detail. It took away from the story and had me skimming ahead to see how it ended. I
