What a great ending. I really loved this mini series, and this might be my favorite issue. From the Punisher moment, to the "No, we don't use our gifts for that." to the very ending, I enjoyed this very much.

Great mini-series. I love a standalone story showing a character in their possible future and this series did a lot in 3 issues. glad it wasn't drawn out and thankful it has a resolution instead of "the end....or is it the start?"

"a man on a line swinging between the skyscrapers fifty stories above the ground...who is this person? why would they do something so dangerous?"

after great atmosphere setting and heading towards this climax...I knew this wouldn't please everyone...but it did pack an emotional punch. ..with Daredevil and Bullseye reliving the old days and Frank Castle and Tyra added into the mix.

worth a read...and wouldn't mind another glimpse into this world...which I'm not sure how feasible that would be?

Just got done reading Daredevil: Cold Day in Hell and wow, this jawn was amazing. What a perfect ending to such an epic run. The art and story were both top tier, and the world felt alive, you could really feel how NYC has fallen into worse times. Daredevil racing against the clock to save the city from Bullseye and his terrorist group was intense, and Tyra as the city’s last hope added so much weight. Seeing how she might use her powers, plus the short but powerful influence Punisher had on her, left such a strong impression. Truly an amazing story.

This was such a perfect ending for this series, a line shining out through the dark towards a brighter different future. I legit don’t need a follow up series (even though it would be nice, wink) , because I feel like I can imagine everything that will happen in the future already. This was such a perfect ending for the world of daredevil. This issue opens with the stage set, Matt is flying around the city and Bullseye has fit back into his old suit and is now pumping himself with drugs to keep a steady hand for the fight to come as the entire cities attention is drawn once more to the eternal fight between good and evil around a cluster of bombs the mercy of bullseye, one final show. But bullseye also likes to play smaller games, we’ve seen what he’s done to Frank all these years. And as he starts gathering armaments, he very blatantly points out an old exo suit that plugs directly into your brain and acts on thoughts. As he let Frank fall to the ground out of his shackles, it’s like he was begging Frank to crawl over to it and use it. Like he was giving the unmovable force that is Frank Castle one final chance against the men he sent in right after Bullseye left to kill him. And if we know Frank, we know that he would never give up an opportunity like that. Even de-limbed he crawled his way over to the suit and used his teeth to hook himself up, only to drag himself inside of it…and immediately fall flat. As the goons walked in to finish the job, Tyra told them exactly what was going to happen. Punisher is going to figure out how to use that suit, and they are done for. And that’s exactly what happens! It only takes him a moment to get his bearings, but not even two full pages later and all those goons are down and Frank has freed Tyra so they can follow after bullseye to help Daredevil.

We jump back as daredevil is patrolling the streets trying to find bullseye and his bombs. But we are now introduced to a problem, not only can daredevil see the city and is constantly distracted by all the other people who need his help…but that power isn’t lasting for long. It’s not fading, it’s cutting in and out at the worst possible times! But suddenly Daredevil hears a transformer coming online, and with it the TV’s in time square light up with bullseye’s disgusting wrinkled face. He begins to drone on and on about how he is back from a time when they used to rebuild after a disaster to prepare for the next fight, from a time of ballets between good and evil where some would die on each time and it would be different every time. But the world has changed and now it’s all gray, which is why he is here! To remind them all of what it was like before. And right one time, daredevil appears behind bullseye where he is broadcasting to interrupt his speech. One of the goons immediately starts to go for daredevil…and bullseye shoots him in the back. This is bullseye’s fight and no one is getting in the way. The two engage in combat, just like old times, and Matt can’t help but admit that in some way Bullseye is right, this fight does feel good. Even as Matt struggles to hold onto his powers, but the fight finally reaches a point where with the flurry of needles from bullseye…Matt is hit, and the poison on the tips begins to flow through him. Suddenly the fight is over way too soon, and bullseye is ready for things to go out with a bang. But then a giant hand interrupts the broadcast, as Frank and his suit grabs Bullseye by the arm and squashes it as he throws him I to the ground and all around. Bullseye tries to stop Frank by electrocuting the suit with a loose wire, but Frank is an immovable object and frees himself from the suit only to head butt bullseye and continue to bite and claw at him. Suddenly Matt runs over and holds Frank back. And the. We get the truth, we get a flashback to when Kingpin died and it’s revealed that Frank gunned him down, as Daredevil stood by and refused to stop him. But this time daredevil has the chance to stop him, and he does. Tyra is confused, bullseye is a bad man and he shouldn’t have stopped Frank. But Matt explains the truth, people like them, with their gifts, it’s their job to help people, not to kill. They may fail at times, but they always try, even for people like bullseye. Lester couldn’t be happier that he is still alive, and is now begging to draw them into the final act: the bombs. Bullseye reaches into his pocket as he pulls out the detonator, time is running short and daredevil is struggling to hold onto his vision. He leaps forward and tackles bullseye off the roof, both of them crashing down towards a car that bullseye smashes into the car, taking the damage for both of them. As they were falling daredevil was able to use a move to remove the detonation device from bullseye’s hand. But as they lay there, bullseye bleeding out on the car, Matt apologizes to him for not finding another way. Bullseye tells him not to worry about it’s it, the show must go on. Suddenly he spits out his own tooth, it slashed against the side of Matt’s mask, ricochets off a few objects before hitting the detonator dead on…bullseye.

The world erupts around them as the bombs go off and New York is once again plunged into fear and toxic gas. Daredevil is dosed again with his punishment, his powers once again retuning to him, just in time to see the world scream. He feels a piece of rebar that has lodged itself in his side, nothing will fix that. He throws swag his mask, and realizes what he has to do. The world is lashing out right now, it’s blind, and he needs to help them to see. And that’s when he sees a path up and he begins to climb. Thinking back to all the pain his life has been plagued with, through all of it he has learned how to keep going and to face the pain as there will always be more light, all the way until he has climbed back to the roof and is facing Tyra with a dead Frank in her arms. Matt stumbles over to her and he introduces himself, he knows she is mad at him and thinks he is a bad man and he can accept that, but he thinks he’s done more good than not, especially as he has always tried. And that’s exactly what he wants to talk to her about in his final breaths as he falls to the ground and rips the rebar out from his side. The power is out, it’s dark, and no one can see and they are all frightened and hurting each other in the panic. They need help, and that’s when he is why they have their gifts, for times like these. In his final breaths, he imparts on her that she will remember this moment for the rest of her life and this choice will define it. Hide in the dark…or step into the light. And as Matt stops talking and fades away, suddenly the world lights up around him as Tyra uses her powers to shine bright and bring light to the darkness. Her powers are even capable of burning away the poison gas. In his final thoughts Matt admits he was wrong, he believed he was chosen, but he knows now that he was just an instrument. He can hear the voices around them with awe as Tyra saves the day, many people have touched it and they have been changed. I think these final moments are implying that the world is about to be chalked full of super humans again, not all of them will make the right choice but Matt knows for certain that there will be heroes ready to step into the light, and it’s all part of the plan…after all…he can see it.

Charles Soule y Steve McNiven rematan Cold Day In Hell con la cabeza bien alta.

this 3 issue mini was exciting and dynamic. a dystopian Hell's Kitchen witnesses the man without fear return. but not for just any reason. he has to face his old nemesis Bullseye. and try to save a special young girl, who was protected by Captain America himself. and we get a hell of a finale. the final showdown between Matt, Bullseye & even Frank Castle! Matt wants the young girl, Tyra, to take up the mantle of the new protector of Hell's Kitchen and beyond.
highly recommended!

The conclusion to this grim, gritty, bloody, and violent drama sees Daredevil confront Bullseye to stop his insane plan to set off explosives throughout NYC and getting unexpected help in doing so.

This was only 3 issues but it felt like the perfect distillation of Daredevil as a character. Sometime in the future they're going to adapt this into one of the best Daredevil stories ever told.

Solid. Beginning, middle & end. Wrapped up nicely with a bow of … light! It’s all part of God’s plan.
