It has been quite some time since I had read a book in 'The Devil's Eyes' series. I was looking forward to being reunited with Nick, Kayla and Ryan. Unfortunately, I was somewhat disappointed in this book.

I'm not sure exactly what I expected from this book, but this wasn't it. I guess I had hoped for more of a novella, or even a short-story. Instead, this was a collection of deleted scenes from earlier books, along with some letters from different characters to Nicky.

While some of the content was a nice "extra", none of it warranted a separate book in my opinion. The format also seemed disjointed to me. There didn't seem to be any particular reason that the selected scenes were included, or any flow to the content.

Again, this is probably due to the fact that I expected some sort of story here. That isn't the type of book this is. The whole thing was reminiscent of one of those video game magazines/guidebooks to me, breaking down who the different characters are and providing a few more insider insights.

All in all, it was okay for what it was. It wasn't what I had hoped for, but I probably should've paid more attention to the blurb.

I read installment #5 4 years ago, so this was the perfect recap.

Don't expect too much from the notes. They are pretty brief and the length of 3/4 worth of a letter size paper. Needless to say, it's more good luck than tips.

There is nothing overly interesting about this novel and the deleted scene could have stayed deleted. It wasn't much of anything and I could swear I read 1/2 of it in one of the previous installments.

But as I said at the beginning of this review, it is the perfect guide if a substantial amount of time has passed between you reading book 5 and embarking on book 6. I appreciate the roundup though.

Loved it!! It brought me right back to this amazing series and all these wonderful characters. I will love anything connected to Nick and Kayla. I loved the background on all the characters. That was a big help for me because there are so many and some are complicated. So looking forward to Jennifer's next book. LOVE this series it is one of my favorites if not my favorite! And so many AMAZING characters that I love.

This is something that fans of The Devil's Eyes series needs to have! It's a compendium of the characters, with letters from major players to Nicky - who will some day walk in his father's shoes...or beside him.

There is additional background information on characters - living and deceased - one that lists their ambitions, fears, and cares in the world.
