Small town waitress Alice had almost given up hope on her dreams-cooking professionally and finding a decent man to share her life with. Then one day a tall, green-eyed man walks into the diner and straight into her heart.
Josh McGill had been through too much in the Army to take a chance on love. In the line of duty, he had done so many terrible things. Some things he couldn’t even fully remember. Scarred and tormented by his past, he is afraid of letting Alice get too close.
Will the ghosts of his past ruin their chance for happiness? Or can they overcome his demons and fight for love together?
A NOVELLA SHORT-SEXXY-HOT AND VERY-VERY-SWEET. CHARACTERS WERE WELL DEVELOPED AND SO WAS THE STORY LINE TO BE SUCH A FEW PAGES. ALICE IS A WAITRESS AND JOSH IS AN EX-SOLDIER SUFFERING FROM PTSD, THEY MEET AND OF COURSE THE SPARK START TO FLY. SIGH!! I REALLY ENJOYED THIS AND FELL IN LOVE WITH BOTH CHARACTERS ESPECIALLY JOSH, HE MADE MY TOES CURL JUST LIKE I'M SURE HE DID THE SAME THING FOR THE VERY LUCKY ALICE. ;D
I couldn't put it down. Josh is my knight and shining armor. Alice is a damsel in distress that Josh rescues. I am in love. *sigh* Even though I didn't find out what was Josh problem, it still was a good read.
Insightful story about prejudice and one of the problems our veterans face when they come home. I'm glad this sweet love story showed that love can conquer almost any problem. Even at fifty-five I still believe that. A very good read. I enjoyed it.
I loved Alice, she was strong, opinionated, and loved with all her heart. Josh was a dreamboat of a man, strong, protective and resilient well they both were. #verygood#doread
This was such a sweet story. I love that there's an undercurrent of Southern small town to it, how adorable Josh is, how cute and strong Alice is. I love them together, just wish the story had been a lot longer.
Alice is surprised but happy to have a man like Josh in her life. Josh is happy as well but due to past issues he is not sure that he is the right man for Alice. This love story is about accepting one' s true self.
This is my 1st book by this author and is was OK. I liked the premise, Josh a Solider with PTSD and Alice a lonely waitress meet, get together and it was pretty hot. Nice quick read for a rainy day.
