Aboxageddon: Everybody Loves Large Chests

Rate this book
What do you do when there are hardly any challenges left to conquer? Where do you go once you've seen everything? How far do you need to go before there's really no reason to push ahead? If all things must end and disappear, then why does anything start at all?

These questions and more plague Boxxy's mind as it finds itself stranded in the void. With nothing to occupy its mind or teeth, the monster finds itself assaulted by intrusive thoughts that dwell on the uncertain and unknowable aspects of life. and force it to face its own mortality. When faced with the enormity of eternity and its own, fleeting insignificance within it, even that ever-churning mass of murder and mayhem finds itself wondering what is it all for? No matter how many shiny things it hoards or tasty things it eats, Boxxy will inevitably cease to be. Oh, sure, there are many ways to extend a lifespan, but true immortality is an unattainable fantasy. Even gods can be forgotten and disappear forever. What chance does a mere box with teeth have?

And yet the monster clings to life, despite itself. Survival is ingrained into the abomination's every muscle fiber and nerve ending. The body will fight to keep going even if the mind has given up. If all things must end, then the creature's primal instincts will do all in their power to ensure Boxxy is the last one on that list.

Even if that means hastening the end of all other things.

To the bitter end

From the beginning this has been one of my favorites, so this was a bittersweet installment. The last few books have not been as satisfying as the previous, but still fun reading.
The first 3/4 was some of the best in the recent books. The main reason for this was that there was a goal, Boxxy was working towards a finish line. The final 1/4 was somewhat disappointing, though finding what the gang had been up to was interesting. The final few pages were of excellent quality, which made me happy.
Best luck on your future projects Neven. Tom out

7 out of 5 shinies

What a phenomenal series! The masterful (in universe) fourth wall break was fantastic!
The end of this book deviates so far from the theme of book 1 that it should be jarring, but it's executed so gradually throughout the series that it actually works.
If you've read this far in series, don't delay and pickup this book now!

Love this series from beginning to end!

I'd recommend this series to anyone who enjoys litRPG, D&D, or general fantasy, and doesn't mind a bit of risqué content that doesn't take itself too seriously. Very fun and enjoyable to track character development and story lines throughout. This conclusion was excellent and fulfilling!

Ending ruined this for me

This was very much a reset from the start so it disregarded all the characters. Twelve books worth of people thrown away was not enjoyable. I absolutely hated the ending.

A great ending?

A great possible ending to the series/potential beginning of a second season.
Has some great moments, feels a bit condensed in places.
