Conclusion:
Overall a good secret society high heat book. I didn't feel like I was reading a repeat of The Ritual or a book like that. This one did have it's own uniqueness.
The writing was a bit subpar as it was extremely repetitive.
I did feel like the author handled some of the heavier subject matters in the story.

I actually was thinking of DNFing around 40% because of how repetitive the story was but I stuck it out and i'm glad.

This is not a reread story for me but I would read the next book in the series.

Beckett literally HUNTS Luna and I was her for every moment of this book. I could not get enough of this book. The prey/hunter story line sucks you right in.

Luna uses the invitation of her sister Genevieve to escape from her arranged marriage to a horrible human of a man and to start over her life away from her parents who have always tried to make her disappear. What Luna didn't realize that when she stole her sister's invitation to the hunt that if she was potentially going to be owned by some of the world's most powerful alpha men as all she thought of was winning the money and getting away from her family.

Thinking she is safe because they are wearing masks, she catches the eye of Beckett who never participates in the Hunt.
Beckett knows that she is his and he collars her immediately to make sure that everyone knows that she is his before the Hunt even begins. Now with a target on her back for the hunt, all the hunters think she is fair game but Beckett NEVER claims or participates with this event, so why Luna? Was it because she broke the rules by stealing the invitation and being “a little thief.”


As the story plays out you see all the broken pieces and they fit together like they were made for each other. But there is danger in this secret society billionaire world but also from Luna's abusive ex and family.


Beckett finally realized why Luna was so different she makes him feel things he never thought he could. HE lets her choose freedom whether it is with or without him. Beckett realized he should have let her make this choice not make it for her. Will her choice be to live with or without the man that may have changed her life for the better even without wanting this?

I adore this book, everything I love in a book with the secret society trope. One of the first few dark romance books I read was The Ritual, yes not my smartest moment but oddly enough I loved it in all its unhinged glory. So I have a special place in my heart for books with dark secret societies, and this one is one of my favourites so far. The start and main forward action is this ritual that’s kind of a mix of Legacy of Gods and The Ritual, so there’s a “Hunt”, like the Heathens initiation so yes the “Owners” or “Collectors” have to chase the players / “possessions” so I think you can see how this is going, and if they get caught, well… that’s where the Ritual part comes in, they get to keep the “possession”. If someone hasn't read anything like this before, it may sound very weird and I totally get why. It starts as most dark romances do with the mmc, Beckett, seeing her, becoming obsessed and immediately claiming (collaring) her, but like most dark romances the fmc, did not enter the ritual with that intention. he’s determined to make her “submit” so yeah pretty smutty throughout but near the middle is where the lust turns to love. It’s so sweet when he realises she’s breaking down all his walls and that he’s falling in love with her. Obviously they grow through a lot of rough patches in their relationship, with the society “Owners club”, and Luna’s terrible ex. I can’t say the plot twists shocked me, but I was into every single moment of it. And the ending was so worth it, because both characters go through so much growth. I love the analogy of Art expression in this book because Luna has never had her freedom before and she tries to get a sense of that with her art. Of course Beckett being super supportive is the cherry on top. I loved this book and I give it a 5/5

A thoroughly enjoyable read, great characters and a story that holds your attention throughout
I and have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book it was a simply captivating read, it was a ideal dark read I love the secret society that had my attention from the off.
The hunt is a mix of ritual and also a ritual that is a longstanding ritual to the gods/deities that they believe in and they do this by choosing to chase a selected individual that is otherwise known as the possession.
If they are successful and actually manage to hunt down one of the runners, they are then able to keep whoever it is that they have captured and then are able to do with them as the will within reason usually.
Beckett has seen one of the runners and has immediately become obsessed with her and he decides that he is immediately going to claim her and he puts his own collar around her neck. He is determined that he will make her his and she will learn that basically what he wants she will be expected to carry out.
Over the time they are together he actually realises that he has fallen in love with her, Luna had already experienced one disastrous relationship and had not wanted to become involved with someone again especially when it had not initially been her choice.
Beckett realises that he is going to have to treat his girl better and show her that he cares for her and that he loves her and also that he will do anything necessary to keep her safe and happy including protection from her from her abusive ex-boyfriend.
I guarantee that you will be completely captivated by this read and will be left looking forward to future books.

Laura Nicole’s writing is beautiful, the pictures her words paint are vivid. While reading it felt like I was watching a movie. I finished this book in 2 days and when I wasn’t reading it I was thinking about it. Obsessed.

Luna is far from a wallflower. Even in the face of The Hunt she sees it as an opportunity for freedom and a future she chooses for herself. Until she’s seen by Him. Beckett has never participated in The Hunt, only ever been a spectator. Until she enters the room.
Beckett and Luna have an intense connection from the moment they see each other, neither having the slightest idea how their meeting is going to fundamentally change not just themselves but their perception of the world.
This is a dark romance but on the scale id say it’s definitely mild on the dark compared to some out there!

Love love love! Dark, raunchy and perfectly thrilling!

I could not put this book down! The MMC was hotter than hell itself! The broody, masked character was divine.

The writing in this book was beautiful and the author deserves an award. The writing is phenomenal, the characters are phenomenal and the smut is definitely smutting!

The spicy scenes had me shifting in my seat more times than I would like to admit! It was HOT!

Dark romance, forced proximity, mentions of SA (but not in detail) and a morally grey MMC.

The story is dual perspective (which I love) but what i also liked was the fact that the MMC perspective was greater than the FMC, and I’m here for that.

The FMC steals a exclusive invitation to a masked hunt, where the women are hunted by powerful, wealthy masked
Men. A syndicate of sorts. She just needed an escape from a forced arranged marriage from a powerful man, what she didn’t anticipate was becoming the property of another wealthy, powerful man. The twists and turns in this book keep you enthralled from start to finish.

The MMC is protective and has the “touch her and die” vibe (which is a trope I love).

You seriously need to pick this book up if you love masked

Make sure you read the trigger warnings - - I highly recommend to my fellow reader that love “The Lords” series by Shantel Tessier and “Legacy of Gods” series by Rina Kent with the secret society and rituals that go along with them so this was a 5/5 star read and definitely comparable

What a scorching hot story. The suspense and mystery was just a bonus!

Luna wants to escape her life so badly she takes her sisters invite to The Hunt. What she gets instead is to be seen and claimed before the hunt began. The worst of all it is Beckett Sinclair, a dangerous man that should be avoided, too late now.

Beckett doesn't hunt but when he spots Luna across the ballroom he decides he will be and it's her that he will be claiming.

This puts a massive target on her back and he will do everything to protect what's his.

Scorching hot is how I describe Beckett. He is more though. protective, possessive and so freaking sweet. Luna needed Beckett and he needed Luna.

Luna had some unspeakable things happen to her and he will do whatever necessary to erase and prevent these things for her future.

I loved their story from start to finish and I am excited to read more from this author and the next book (Graham's book).

What a wild ride! So good! This is the first novel I have read by this author, but it won't be my last. This novel did not disappoint. From the first chapter this novel reached across the pages and grabbed ahold of my heart and held on tight. This novel took me on such a wild ride. I was on the edge of my seat reading and trying to figure out all the twists and turns. I loved the characters, Beckett and Luna. The had crazy chemistry. Once I started reading I did not want to put this novel down. I needed to know what was happening next. I loved watching the chase and the characters finally letting down their guards with each other. Crazy intense. I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next. Such a wild ride, so good!

Hmmm I’m having a difficult time rating this one! I loved the beginning and the thrill of the hunt and the aftermath of that…but somewhere along the line the story lost its spark to me. I loved how possessive and alpha Beckett was, but toward the end he was the complete opposite. He lost his grittiness that made him interesting to me. I also couldn’t get a feel for Beckett’s two ‘friends’, they seemed quite distant. And the whole part where the villain gets the h and how that all plays out made no sense at all.

All in all I enjoyed parts of the book (some of the spice was hot!), but got a bit bored with other parts.

His to Hunt has been quite an experience.

The story begins with Luna making the decision to voluntarily go to an event where the most powerful men in the country gather, not to dance ... to hunt, but if she makes it out of that party alone she will have her freedom forever.

Beckett is the meticulous and cold man looking down from above , never finding something or someone who motivates him to get in the game , until he sees Luna struggling to fit into a mole where she doesn't belong .

Honestly it was a mountain of feelings this book , I loved and hated it in equal parts , I recommend it .

2.75 rounded up. Primal play, a possessive MMC, secret club, control and an FMC eager for freedom… I expected more from this one. The MMC’s character growth was interesting, though seemed too fast for reality; while the FMC seemed to surrender her plans of escape almost immediately. There was a LOT of repetition and this made for some boring patches, while other plot points were either rushed through or simply abandoned. I think with some good editing, cutting 50-100 pages, it would be not only a tighter plot but a much better read.

Beckett has always been an observer, never claiming a woman at the Hunt. So when a woman walks in who obviously doesn’t belong there, he can’t resist the need to her, and let everyone know she’s his.

Luna never expected to be claimed, she was there for the prize money in hopes to escape an arranged marriage to a violent man. But the masked man saw her and refuses to let her go.

I loved the fight in this book, Luna does not back down and refuses to conform to the rules and expectations of The Owners Club. It was also fun to watch Beckett’s walls slowly come down as Luna worked her way into his system.

Intriguing and amazing. It had me devouring the book from page one and I didn’t wanted to end. The characters are amazingly written and perfect for each other, the suspense and plot had me enthralled during the whole book and it is totally worth it. Is my first book from Laura Nicole and it won’t be the last, it is definitely a must read.

Yesssssss…. 1000xs yessss!!! This book may be considered dark romance but I wouldn’t limit it to that. This book contains dark romance, some sweet aspects and also contains a lot of suspense. The way the FMC uses art to convey her feelings is absolutely beautiful. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone that loves dark romance, spice, and thrillers.

What an intoxicating, delicious dark spice filled book that literally will how you devouring in one sitting! 🥵

The darkness and masked men element should not have me in such swoonworthy territory but HOTDAMNIT. BECKETT is unfrigginreal, and when he sets his sights on Luna, that's game friggin over, but in the same breath, the game changes, and Beckett absolutely steals your heart with his love and protectiveness!

There are so many elements to this story that connect together, and I am so invested in this story and the series to come!

Beckett and Luna had me captivated from the very first page. Beckett is always stoic and in control, while Luna is on the run from a troubling past. The clash between them is electric—the push and pull, the fight for control, is intense and filled with emotion.
But when they finally surrender to one another, the moment is breathtaking. As their walls come down, they begin to open up, face their wounds, and slowly heal together.
The writing is stunning, carrying you from raw intensity to tender surrender, from brokenness to healing. It’s a powerful love story that lingers long after you’ve turned the last page.
