Oh this one strutted into my hands like, “Hi, I’m a hitman with trauma, a cabin, and a blizzard. Please judge me accordingly.”

And you KNOW I did.

(aka: “I went looking for adventure and instead found a six‑foot‑five murder‑yeti with feelings.”)

Let me set the scene:
Ruby Sullivan, curvy travel blogger extraordinaire, is just trying to document her cute little Colorado adventure when the universe says, “Actually babe, you’re going to meet a hitman in a blizzard. Good luck.”

Enter Talon — a man who has absolutely no business being this hot while pointing a gun at someone. He’s got the whole package:
the scars, the silence, the lethal aura, the “I haven’t spoken to another human in six months” vibe. He’s basically a cryptid with a tragic backstory and thighs that could crack a walnut.

Ruby?
She walks into his cabin like a cinnamon roll with a death wish.
He looks at her like she’s the first sunrise he’s seen in years.
And suddenly the blizzard is the least dangerous thing happening.

The forced proximity?
Chef’s kiss.
The tension?
Thick enough to spread on toast.
The instalove?
Immediate, feral, and absolutely on brand for a man who hasn’t had a social interaction since the Obama administration.

And the best part?
Ruby isn’t some trembling damsel. She’s smart, self‑aware, and fully capable of recognizing that Talon is both dangerous and deeply, stupidly into her. Their dynamic is pure “sunshine meets storm cloud who would kill for her but also make her tea.”

My only gripe — and the reason this hovers between 3.5 and 4 stars — is the length.
Forty‑two pages is not enough time for me to fully marinate in the “hitman learns how to feel things again” storyline. I wanted more danger, more emotional unraveling, more of Talon trying to pretend he’s not soft for her while absolutely being soft for her.

But for a quick, steamy, snow‑trapped, “oops I fell for the assassin” novella?
It delivers exactly what it promises.

Ruby found adventure.
Talon found redemption.
And I found another reason to never trust a blizzard.

You put this one down until the last page has been turned so if you are looking for a short one you found it. Ruby is headed into the mountain a curvy travel blogger, but the storm stops her just in time she finds what she thought was her cabin, finding the key, and going in but it doesn’t look like a rental Airbnb rental at all, but she is too tired to think about it. So, falling asleep until she hears someone walk through the door with a gun in her face what a way to wake up. That would be the real home homeowner Talon sexy as all get out hitman comes to his safe house his cabin in the mountain to find a woman there claiming to have rented it on for her blog. he couldn’t throw her out in during the storm so she must stay till morning but when she sees that he is hurt she insist on helping him, and he allows the help but can’t figure out why she would want to help him. The magnetic pull between them can’t be ignored and the longer the storm rages the more they get to know each other realizing she has no problem with him riding the world the bad but is it enough for them to make it work, is she truly okay with his job, is he is okay with her job, and the two them find happiness together?

Such a Good Story!!

I absolutely loved reading this one. I love these two. I love the storyline so much. Ruby took off into the mountains naturally in a snowstorm renting a cabin for inspiration for her Blog Curvy Girl Adventures. Not being able to see and her phone and GPS both dead she finally finds a cabin not knowing if it’s the right one but stopping regardless. The snow was falling heavily. She tried the door and it was locked and she remembered the email saying something to the effect of the key would be hidden in a rock or something like that. She indeed found the secret compartment in the rock. So she lets herself in and started looking around. There was no food in the refrigerator and the pantry had MRE’s, protein bars and some type of protein powder. She starts a fire and begins warming up. Exhausted she covers herself with a blanket and falls asleep. The door opens and she’s startled and sees a big mountain man. He wants to know what the f*ck is she doing in his cabin. She starts explaining why she’s there and that she’ll leave. He tells her that the snow is so bad she isn’t going anywhere. She sees that he is bleeding and wonders what his story is. He tells her to go to sleep and… 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊😊

Curvy Girl Adventures

Big & Rough Hitman Mountain Man is the sixth book in the Big & Rough Mountain Men series. This is a quick read with a full on, OTT story that will put a smile on your face. Ruby runs a travel blog for curvy girls. She is taking a vacation at a remote mountain cabin that has hot springs and is near a resort. But when a storm comes in a day early she finds herself sort of lost, as the GPS has stopped working. Seeing a light on what looks like a cabin she decides to turn into the driveway and hopes it is her rental The key may be in the place that she was thinking it was but it turns out not quite to be her cabin. Talon is an ex-military sharpshooter who now does contract work in the area. He keeps a safe house, a remote cabin, where he can lay low when he needs to. Let's just say that finding a curvy beauty asleep on his couch was not quite what he was planning on coming home to. As the storm rages outside the sparks fly between these two and they find just how much fun you can get up to when you are snowed in together.

She is off to the mountain rental cabin for a little reprieve she gets in just before the storm hits. When the door flies open and a tall bleeding mountain man is standing there she is startled. It turns out she did not make it to her cabin after all, but stumbled into the safe house of a mountain man hitman. This is a short story format so you do not expect to get overly detailed character development or complex plot lines. And you don’t get either here. They have attraction for each other and are drawn together with a little bit of spice as they look for a happily ever after. This was a little bit clunky for me. Some of the transitions weren’t real smooth. I think the hitman Trope was an ambitious one for a short story and it needed a little more explanation to feel complete.

A wonderful story with great characters. We follow Ruby and Talon. Ruby has a successful travel blog and goes to the mountains for a quiet moment where she has rented a mountain cabin. While she is looking forward to a relaxing stay, a snowstorm throws a spanner in the works and ends up in the wrong cabin and that is the point that she meets Talon because it is his cabin. One evening when Talon returns to his cabin he finds Ruby sleeping on his couch. After their first meeting she is ashamed that she is in the wrong cabin. But it does not take long before feelings come up and things soon get steamy. Will she find out that he is a hitman? I enjoyed their story and it is definitely recommended to read.

Ruby is the woman behind "Curvy Girl Adventures" blog and is now on her way to a winter adventure in a mountain rental cabin. A blizzard also decided to arrive earlier than predicted; she had lost GPS , so she was playing it by ear for finding the cabin. She thought that she had when she found the spare key where it was listed. Very sparse and orderly; but at least she is inside. As she dozes off, the door slams open with a big guy holding a gun pointed at her. He demands information about why she is there; and she explains about the rental and where key was. Who is he? Why is there blood on him? Will he kick her out? Will he tell her who he is? What he does when she cleans and bandages his wounds? What happens as they get to know each other? expected or unexpected behavior?.

This was a quick read with intense but likeable characters. They hardly had what I'd refer to as a meet cute, but there was definately adrenaline present. Talon is a passionate, orderly, focused and morally driven man. One who takes it upon himself to deal with matters others won't, but that shouldn't be overlooked (at least by his estimation). Ruby is a curvy blogger who is looking for her next adventure - boy does she get it. She's fierce in her own way, and determined. Mother Nature forces these two into close proximity, against their better judgment initially. While the story was a quick read, it kept Mt attention and the banter was real.

Ruby is a young woman who came to the mountains to find a new adventure for her travel blog. But during this excursion, she finds herself stuck in a blizzard and finding shelter in a remote cabin. But just as she begins to warm up, a handsome mountain man covered in blood enters the cabin.
Talon is a hitman who lives in hiding in his remote cabin in the mountains. When he returns from a mission, he doesn't expect to find a beautiful woman lying on his couch. But even though he vowed to live a solitary life, he does everything he can to keep her at a distance.
Will Talon give in to his feelings for Ruby, and will Ruby want to stay in the mountains with Talon….

Snowpocalypse.
Fantastic. Ruby is lost. She on the way to a rental cabin during a snowstorm. When she finally finds it and the hidden key she is relieved. That relief doesn’t last long, though. She’s awakened by a huge man who has a weapon pointed at her. Talon has no idea how this curvy goddess found his safe house but, he can’t throw her out into the snow. What really unnerves him is that she sees him, really sees him and she’s not afraid of him. The next morning he enlightens Ruby on what he does and why. She still stays. Brave or crazy? Talon’s not sure which one Ruby is?.

A winter storm leads Ruby to a cabin she thought was her rental. The man who barges in with a gun, demanding answers, leads her to realize this isn't her cabin at all. Talon like his space and his privacy given his occupation. Ruby's an inconvenience he could do without, especially since the cabin is his safehouse and he doesn't need an innocent getting caught in the crosshairs of his job. But the longer they're together, the more they come to realize: maybe each other is exactly who they need.

Hazel doesn't disappoint in this short, hot, entertaining, page-turning romance.

When Ruby was on the way to the cabin, she rented but, the cell signal to her phone and ended up in the different cabin. Let’s really, she is at the wrong on when a guy cones through the door to the cabin. Talon is a hitman and is hurt and blood, but she is not scared. Talon can kick her out as they are now in a snowstorm and will not leave in a few days or so. Can she get him to change his mind about her and they being together? Read and find out.

writing a travel blog, Ruby is supposed to be at a B&B. But seems like she might be at the wrong location at the right time. Almost frozen and seeking shelter, following instructions and lo and behold, finding a key, she lets herself in the cabin to wait out the storm. Meantime, somebody else enters the cabin hours later. This is a surprise, and yet she is not afraid. Mother nature is working her magic for Ruby and the owner of the cabin.. Unexpected encounter. Short read. Second chance and a good life.

Ruby is off for a stay in a cabin but she didn't think of the weather conditions. It's gets worse so she sees a cabin and hoping it's hers goes in to shelter. But she isn't alone for long. Talon is back but he needs to be alone. His world is dangerous and it can't be shared. A great read from the beginning. I loved both characters and the storyline. She softens him and the chemistry got better as the book went on. I really enjoyed this series.

Talon & Ruby

Ruby rents a cabin in the mountains for her travel blog adventures. She ends up in Talon’s safe house cabin. The blizzard cuts the power so she makes a fire and falls asleep in front of it. Talon bursts in during the night, with a bullet grave on his leg and gun drawn for his unexpected visitor.

Loved the insta love and epilogue. Read it for a quick unexpected couple romance.

A woman lost in a blizzard. A man lost in life. The connection Talon and Ruby made was an inferno in a snowstorm. It was hot and steamy.
The characters were written very well, with warmth and depth. The storyline was captivating. This was a very enjoyable book with a delightful HEA.

Talon is a hitman that lives in mountains and ruby is a travel blogger and headed to the mountains to a cabin which she realizes it's his and not the one she rented. They meet and an explosive electricity combusts between them. It changes them both. A great story.
