Molly grew up in California but now lives with her husband and daughter in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas. When she's not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach . . . which roughly translates to being a homebody and dishing out movie quotes with her hubby. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and loves curling up in a fluffy blanket during a thunderstorm . . . or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

3.5 almost missed the boat Stars

*Spoilers*

This is a cute little story of a man too stupid to see what is in front of him for 12 years, so woman has to spell it out for him. Man doesn't react well to said news and almost misses the boat.

“Eli,” I whispered so low the word was almost lost in the chatter from the other people in the coffee shop. “I have been in love with you since I was thirteen years old,”

“I’m sorry I can’t be what you need.”

Eli and Paisley have been best friends for years. Eli is a man whore. He uses Paisley as his wingman and to get rid of one night stands that won't go away. Paisley has been in love with her best friend forever but has never told him. She sits around watching him go through countless women and it rips her heart out each time. When she finally meets a guy she could see having a future with, she knows that it's time to tell Eli about her feelings and if he doesn't feel the same then it's time to move on. She tells him and he doesn't react well. Heart broken she starts to move on with the new guy Brett. Eli comes back a few weeks later (he was out of town dealing with a family emergency) and tells Paisley he is in love with her and that he was stupid for not seeing it before. Paisley tells him she doesn't believe him and besides she has moved on with Brett and already has feelings him. Eli now has to fight to win back the love of his life that he almost let slip through his hands.

“I love you, Paisley Morro. I’m in love with you. I can’t lose you.”

“You can’t just decide that now that I’m trying to be happy, Eli! You can’t come in and try to ruin this now that you’re missing me,”

Eli is very likable but a little blind not to see his bff is in love with him. He is very sweet, and really tries to make it up to her. He feels very guilty over hurting her all those years by being with other women in front of her. Once he pulls his head out of his butt and sees what is in front of him he is charming, sexy, and very giving. Paisley I like but I feel like she caused most of her own pain because she didn't put on her big girl panties and tell Eli how she felt sooner. Paisley is sweet and kind of a good girl. Her and Eli have cute relationship. I felt a little bad for Brett. Although he did a few jerk things after losing Paisley to Eli. I still felt for him. Over all a cute and quick friends to loves story with a sweet HEA.

“I can live without him—I can’t live without you.”

“I have this sweet, snarky, sexy girl, and I don’t know what the hell I did to deserve her after how I treated her all those years.”

There is a reason I don't read this author's books. They just aren't for me. The romance is contrived; the story so unrealistic its beyond ridiculous; and the characters are so unlikable you don't want to finish the story. I was able to read this in a matter of hours as it was really short. 77% to be exact before the sneak peek to some other travesty was introduced. No thank you. Lesson learned. Cannot recommend.

I was provided an ARC by Edelweiss and the publisher for an honest review.

If Molly rewrote the Yellow Pages in her unique storytelling way I think I'd still devour it and love every word, sentence, page.

Changing Everything features Eli - Rachel and Candice's brother from Forgiving Lies - and Paisley. His best friend. His wingman.

She's been in love with him since they met. He's been using her to deflect unwanted female attention and using her as a sleeping buddy.

What happens is the culmination of years of inner torment on Paisley's part and years of ignoring inner feelings on Eli's part.

I love their relationship. Even just as BFFs they have a chemistry that sizzles through the pages and as lovers they have a tenderness that I covet.

As a short and sweet read there is nothing better and the epilogue just gave me tingles.

Thank you, Molly, for yet another wonderful piece of writing. Even if it did cause me tears of sadness and joy! <3

sigh... i wish i was in my early 20 when i decided to read this novel. im 33 and this kind of plot didt sit well w/me. 1 star doesnt reflect this novel's quality, as many of others viewers giving 4-5 stars to this. it reflect that i dislike the story, plot and to me, this is perfect to the younger-dreamers girl type. well, the character also young. paisley in her ...20-ish ? i already forgot and what did she do for a living? still in college right? sorry, thats how Light her character was for me. and hw old is eli ? 25? she was inlove w/eli since she was 13 and kept silent about it, and will keep on loving him like... forever and ever and just treasure their moment as a BFF till the end of the world and cant see her loving or living her life w/any guy, and keep on dreaming about her love to eli and hopping that he will look at her, while he keep on sleeping around and using her as his shield to protect him from an unwanted ex-GF by hugging her, kissing her and making his ex's and his 1 night stand jealous. all the while those "shielding-act- makin paisley's become more and more dellusional and hurting herself more coz all those public hugging just an "Act", but when they hanging out alone, both of them are sleeping together in one bed, eating each other's food, and making each other as the very important friend in the world. sounds fair to me. if only paisley see her doctor more often, maybe all those heartache that she felt and the pitty that everyone aroud her throw at her coz they are all knw that paisley was inlove w/eli the manwhore can be avoided. you see, i dislike this type of girl. the one that just playing the role and silently make her own illusion of "please look at me, someday he will look at me- i just love him soo much - he's my world, and oh god i cant see myself be with other guy for the rest of my life- but i can slept w/some deuchbag and give my virginity away to that asshole bcoz i want to get even w/eli, but dont worrry, coz eli beat the heck of that guy's ass flat dead. oh girl, how screw your life can be??
and the way she knws that he used her as a shield while she secretly loving him was just a low blow for her ownself. girls, dont make yourself be like this kind of girl. if you like the guy, say it to him. be brave to accept whatever the result is. if he doesnt feel the same, move on and go catch your dream! be happy, have lots of friends, hv another hobby, go study more hard, or work harder, life isnt all about oh boy why you not love me back? i cant be w/anyone but you- screw that! but if you were only in your 18-ish, then go ahead. that was a dreamers phase and be full of it. but once you were in you midd 20, you need to hv a fucking good life for your self.

i get it that this is a fast -short reading novel. but even if it was short, the author can make it more... heavy or complicated. im dissapointed by how fast paisley and brett relationship endded just 2 days after eli comeback again, and i hate hw somehow paisley put half the broken relationship between her and brett on brett's side, she stating that she actually want to choose brett over eli, but then again, brett saying something that she need to have time for herself and thinking alone, bcz she just crying right after she saw eli at that bar and she run, what the eff that brett can say other than she need to calm the eff down and please do thinking it again if she was still this unsteady. but paisley saw it as brett doesnt want to compete w/eli for her. heee??? somehow brett is more mature than her idiot brain. although after that brett gone mad, im not pointing at that.
and do please explain to me what the meaning of " i can see the future with you, but i dont see one without him". ??? does she want to do threesome or wht?? it's like im saying " im seeing myself eating that peanut butter, but i cant eat any bcoz im allergc to peanut and i can died from it". which back to... i cant eat peanut, thus why would i can see myself eating peanut butter?? i need an aspirin...

again, generaly this novel was fit more to 18-ish to early 20-ish for the cheesy way and the not so complicated mixed feeling that unfolded. but then again, if you make 1-2 chapters full of eli licking paisley's body from top to toe in a whole 2 chapters, i guess this wasnt for teenager. thats why im dissapointed of how shalow the plot was.

this novel remind me of frigid. which i dislike too

Quick & Dirty: Adorable best friend romance filled with drama, steamy times, and great characters.

Opening Sentence: I fidgeted with my coffee cup as I tried to find the courage to say what I’d held back for so long.

The Review:

Paisley Morro has been in love with her best friend Eli for twelve years now. She has watched him hook up with countless girls and it seems that he will never settle down. She never said anything because their friendship was always too important to her and she knew that if she told Eli how she felt things would change between them. But then she meets someone that she could honestly see herself really falling for and she realizes that it is finally time to tell Eli the truth. If he doesn’t want her it will really hurt but she knows she can’t truly give anyone else a real shot if she doesn’t find out how Eli truly feels about her.

Eli Jenkins is an eternal bachelor. He is sexy, has a great job, and knows how to charm women. Filling his bed has never been a problem and he also has an amazing best friend that fills all his other needs in life. His life is going perfect until Paisley decides to tell him that she is in love with him. Paisley is the only girl he has kept in his life for more than a night, but it takes a family tragedy for him to realize how much she actually means to him. But he might be too late and he may lose the only girl he has ever cared about forever.

Paisley is such a sweet girl and it is impossible to not like her. She has a calming demur but she also has some fire in her. I thought that she was a very well rounded character that I connected with her very easily. In some ways I can’t believe she has been in love with Eli for twelve years and never said anything to him. But at the same time I can see why she wouldn’t want to ruin their amazing friendship. Personally, I wouldn’t have the patience to wait that long, but patience is a quality Paisley possesses. I actually really felt bad for her when she had to watch Eli with all of these other girls even though it was partly her fault for not saying anything to him. In many ways she is very fragile and putting herself out there has never been easy for her. She was a really fun character to get to know and I am glad that I got to read her story.

Eli is a very sexy man that I fell madly in love with. When I first met him in the other books in the series I was very intrigued by his character. He isn’t really in the two previous books very much, but I loved how he was such a great big brother. He has a very protective streak for the girls in his life that he cares about and it was really cute. I will admit he was a total idiot when it came to Paisley. First off, he had no idea how she felt about him and it was totally obvious to everyone else in their lives. Then he didn’t react the best when she finally tells him how she feels. But even though he can be really stupid I still totally loved him! His relationship with Paisley was beautifully done and from the very beginning you can tell they are perfect for each other. They have amazing chemistry and their story was really fun to read.

Changing Everything is a sexy, emotional story that I completely devoured. It is no secret that I am a huge fan of this series and this novella was a wonderful addition. Everybody probably already knows that I am a huge sucker for best friend romances and this book is a perfect example of why I love them so much. When a couple starts out as friends they already have a strong connection, so when things turn into something more it is just so much more believable and realistic. There is also tons of fun drama and humor weaved into the story that made it a very entertaining story to read. While you can certainly read this book as a standalone, I would highly recommend you read the other books in the series because they are amazing and you will appreciate this story more. I believe that McAdams’ does plan to write others books for this series, which I am really excited about. I would highly recommend this story to anyone that is looking for a great, sexy new adult story that is a quick and adorable read!

Notable Scene:

Eli just continued to stare at me like I’d blown his mind, and my body began shaking as I silently begged him to say something—anything.

After twelve years of being his best friend, of being used by him as a shield from other women, of being tortured by his pretending touches and kisses … I was slowly giving up on us. I couldn’t handle the heartache anymore. I couldn’t stand being unknowingly rejected again and again. I couldn’t continue being his favorite person in the world for an entirely different reason than he was mine. I couldn’t keep waiting around for Eli Jenkins.

This was it for me.

“Eli, I need to know.” I exhaled softly and tried to steady my shaking as I asked, “Is there any possibility of there being an us?”

FTC Advisory: William Morrow/HarperCollins provided me with a copy of Changing Everything. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

I absolutely love Molly McAdams' writing. Her books contain the most beautiful characters that I find so easy to fall in love with and this story was no exception. I adored the characters in this book and found the story to be one of the sweetest that I have read in a while. "Changing Everything" was a book that made me swoon.

Paisley and Eli had been best friends for twelve years but at some point within those years of friendship, Paisley had fallen in love with Eli. After years of watching Eli go from one girl to the next, Paisley finally found the courage to confess her true feelings to Eli. One way or another, her revelation was sure to change everything between the pair. Could there ever be more than just friendship for the friends?
I couldn't stand being unknowingly rejected again and again. I couldn't continue being his favourite person in the world for an entirely different reason than he was mine. I couldn't keep waiting around for Eli Jenkins. This was it for me.

I felt so sorry for Paisley. As soon as I read the prologue, my heart began to break for her. What an awful predicament to be in. If Eli didn't reciprocate her feelings, what would it mean for their friendship? I thought that Paisley was so brave to reveal her love for Eli. She could no longer put herself through the pain of watching the guy that she loved be with other girls so I completely understood why she declared her secret. It was torture for her so she had to take the chance, I just hoped that it paid off for her.
If Paisley was in love with me, that changed everything....in the worst way possible.
I loved Paisley. She was such a cute character. A girl that was easy to love and I so wanted everything to work out for her. I wanted her to have the chance of love that she deserved. She was just so lovely and sweet and I hoped that Eli wouldn't break her heart, but honestly it was impossible for me to guess which way the story would go. I just couldn't tell.
I hadn't just lost my wingman and best friend....I'd lost the only girl who could touch my soul.

Eli appeared to be a great guy, he was always so caring and thoughtful when it came to Paisley and he had me wondering about his true feelings. I just couldn't work him out. There were moments when I thought that there was a chance that he shared the same feelings as Paisley but there were other times that I thought maybe he didn't. Eli was a bit of a puzzle. But then, as the story continued and the after-effects of Paisley's confession had begun I saw Eli begin to realise how much he truly needed Paisley in his life. He was slowly beginning to acknowledge the depth of his true feelings for her. The only problem was that I had a feeling that he was too late!
This is about realizing something I should have years ago, and being fucking terrified that I'm about to lose the best thing to ever happen to me.

It was at this moment in the book that I began to fall for Eli. I adored watching him change and embrace his love for Paisley. He acted to lovingly towards her, determined to wear his heart on his sleeve in his quest to draw Paisley beck into his life. He made me swoon so hard! I must have looked like a loon as I read this part of the story. I had the biggest smile on my face as I delighted in Eli's gorgeousness. That boy was perfect and if Paisley didn't want him. I would! lol.
"I love you, and I want to spend everyday for the rest of my life loving you, Paisley. I'm sorry it took me so long, but please don't take you from me."

\
"Changing Everything" was a deliciously sweet novella that I am glad I took the time to read. I did expect a little more drama however I wasn't disappointed and I don't think that you will be too, especially if you are a fan of Molly McAdams. I rated it ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Review by Lisa Kane

Paisley and Eli have been best friends forever. Paisley acts as Eli's wingman, getting him out of situations with women when he's not interested. They do everything together and tell each other everything. Well, maybe not everything. Paisley has been in love with Eli almost since the first time she saw him. But he is oblivious to her feelings. She has watched him take girl after girl to his bed and is often the one who winds up walking the discarded lover out of his apartment. Each time she feels her heart break just a little more, but what can she do, she's in love with him and won't risk losing his friendship by telling him how she really feels.

But she's met a guy, Brett, and he likes her. She likes him too but doesn't want to pursue anything more with him, if there is the slightest chance that Eli returns her feelings. She's urged on by * and * (her best friend and his best friend). They have watched this situation for years and think she needs to let Eli know her feelings so she can move on.

"Eli, I need to know." I exhaled softly and tried to steady my shaking as I asked, "Is there any possibility of there being an us?

So Paisley tells Eli how she feels. She tells him about Brett and her reluctance to take her relationship with him to the next level if there can be a future for them. Eli's in shock and can't help but apologize to her for not returning those same feelings. Paisley is heartbroken and leaves. Eli is left reeling from her revelation and doesn't know what to think.

After twelve years of being his best friend, of being used by him as a shield from other women, of being tortured by his pretending touches and kisses...I was slowly giving up on us. I couldn't handle the heartache anymore. I couldn't stand being unknowingly rejected again and again. I couldn't continue being his favorite person in the world for an entirely different reason than he was mine. I couldn't keep waiting around for Eli Jenkins.

Paisley tells herself no more. She has put it out there, he didn't return her feelings and she wants to spend her life with someone. She wants to marry and have children and she has wasted so many years loving Eli from afar. This is her time to have the happiness she deserves. So she gives in to her growing feelings for Brett and the two seriously begin dating.

Of course while she is picking up the pieces, Eli has lost his best friend. He is lost without her, and at the same time he has a lot of bad, crazy things happen in his family. His sister, Rachel and her boyfriend Kash (characters from the Forgiving Lies series) play a part in this story and he must deal with that. When he asks his sister if she is hurting, she tells him,

"I don't need pain medicine...I need the other half of my soul back."

He realizes Paisley is his soul mate and he messed up big time. So he makes up his mind to get her back. Only Brett isn't going to make that easy for either one of them. Can Eli and Paisley have what they both want?

This book started out with some angty moments and I loved that! It ended on more of a sweet note as Eli and Paisley's story played out. Tieing together characters from another series by the same author doesn't always work, but in this case it was a nice touch.

"But, Paisley, I don't regret any of that nearly as much as I regret not realizing I was in love with you long before now."

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for honest review*

**4.5 stars**

For the last twelve years, Paisley Morro has been in love with her best Friend, Eli Jenkins. Eli loves her too, but in a best friend, some who is always there for him, and his wingman kind of way. However, when Paisley decides to tell Eli how she feels everything changes.

"Eli, I need to know…..Is there any possibility of there being an us”

Eli Jenkins is about to realize that, as they say…… You don’t know what you got until it’s gone…..But the truth is you knew what you had but, you just never thought you’d lose it.

“I had just lost my wingman, and best friend…I’d lost the only girl who could touch my soul”

I enjoyed this novella, about first love, soul mates, friendship, unrequited love, and wow was it sexy hot! I liked Paisley and felt for her as there must be nothing worse that being in love with your best friend and he is too oblivious to notice.

"I have no doubt I could spend the rest of my life with him."

I liked Eli when I first met him in Forgiving Lies and Deceiving Lies, but I have to say in this one he did frustrate me at first. I so wanted to smack him round his head and tell him to wake up and smell the coffee! But once he did, oh wow did, I love him. Eli knows how to make his lady happy ;)

“It’d never been like this before, but more that that, there’d never been the connection that I have with her”

Changing Everything was a quick read, and had the perfect balance for a novella, it flowed well, was heartwarming, romantic, and not overly angsty. I didn’t even mind the Love Triangle that Molly loves to include in her stories. Love Paisley and Eli they had great chemistry, love the epilogue and the way it all ended for them. It left me with a big grin on my face and remembering once again why I’m such a big fan. Love Molly's writing and the way she can pull on my emotions and pull me into a story. I Will say I was surprised how steamy it was for a Molly McAdams book, but not that I minded I loved steam, and Molly can write hot sexy scenes. So keep it up Molly!!

Fan of Molly will love this one. Looking forward to reading Molly’s next book Trusting Liam: A Taking Chances and Forgiving Lies Novel.

We first met Eli in Forgiving Lies and Deceiving Lies as the brother to Rachel’s best friend (and well we all know how I feel about the best friend by now). So I was excited when I started Changing Everything because I was like yes I loved the first two so much that I just know I will love this one as well, but I didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it a lot but it fell short of me loving it.

Eli uses his best friend Paisley as a shield to his ex hook ups more often than not, but he doesn’t realise is that Paisley has been in love with him for so long that every touch or pretend caress hurts her and shatters her heart a little more. When Paisley finally opens up and tells Eli how she feels he freaks out thinking that he is losing his best friend and basically does a total asshat move and pushes her away. Now here is why I bumped it down from loving it to liking it. Paisley doesn’t fight for him, she allows him to just walk away instead of making him open up his eyes to what they could have. It takes someone else and events that happen during the first two books for Eli to pull his head out of his ass to open his eyes. Which okay is usually what happens in most ex man whore storylines so why did this one just make me mad when others didn’t? It’s Paisley, I just couldn’t like her and I swear I tried I really did. I didn’t connect with her and I think for me that is what made me fall just short of loving it.

I am very happy though that I signed up for this blog tour because I finally read an author who I have been wanting to read for a very long time and reading and reviewing Changing Everything kicked me in my ass to read the first book in the series that I just needed that nudge to finally read.

It seems like it's the month of novellas at the moment as I seem to be reading a few of them lately. Molly McAdams new novella is part of her Forgiving Lies series and features Eli Jenkins and Paisley Morrow. These two have been best friends for years and Paisley is in love -head over heels love with Eli , she just has yet to tell him as she thinks he should know. But, of course guys are clueless when it comes to this and then they don't know what they want until it's too late. One day, Paisley has had enough of being Eli's wingwoman and heads to a party where she meets a new guy. The two start dating and we read as Eli of course gets jealous and Eli and Paisley start to drift apart. What happens though , when Eli turns up and tells Paisley he loves her ? Will Paisley go back to Eli or is she happy in her current relationship ? This novella was a nice quick read and like the majority of Molly McAdam's stories featured the wonderful yet sometimes frustrating Love Triangle.

A short friends to lovers novella that is part of her Forgiving Lies series. Easily read alone. I liked it up until the hero and heroine got together. Once they are a couple, the heroine starts acting weird and annoying. There is a mild random conflict that comes and goes with no real explanation. Hero is a dirty boy whose sexual antics certainly liven up the story line but not enough to make me love it.

This is just something fun, she said…

Just a little something for my readers to enjoy, she said…

Why did I believe the lies?! I went in to this book thinking exactly that, and shame on me because Molly McAdams is one of my all time favourite authors EVER, and I’ll read her shopping list if I was allowed, so I should have known that mixed in with the fun, my heart was in for some serious wreckage.

“Eli, I need to know. Is there any possibility of there being an us?”

From the word prologue, I was a miserable wreck. Paisley has been in love with her best friend Eli for twelve years, keeping her feelings a secret while he used her as a “wing-woman”, and a buffer, anything except for what Paisley truly craved.

While Eli brought girls in and out of Paisley’s life, she had to suffer the heartache each and every time.

But the thing I loved about Eli was that there were no feelings there what-so-ever. He didn’t hide the fact that he was happily hooking up as a single man. He didn’t shelter any secret feelings that could have given him that “I’m immature and I’m just hooking up with these random girls because I’m scared of what I feel for my best friend”. He was incredibly oblivious.

Apart from Paisley’s hidden love, the had an incredible friendship. I fell in love with them as friends before I loved them as a couple. They knew each other better than they knew themselves. Everything they did together revolved around the other. They were each other’s opposites and they fit so perfectly together. So much so that I went male besty hunting. (I’m only kind of kidding.)

When Paisley finally lays everything all out in the open, they crumble. It is so hard to read! It’s not until Eli goes home to a family emergency that he realizes what Paisley means to him. But it’s not as simple as running back to her and everything is rainbows and skittles.

“I don’t care that I only opened my eyes to you a month ago, I feel like I’ve been waiting to start the rest of my life with you for years.”

It takes a lot of struggle, more tears, more broken hearts…and that’s only from me — could imagine what they went through??

But trust me when I say that it’s explosive heat, intense chemistry, serious fan-your-face EPICNESS when they do figure it all out.

Eli…YOWZA! That man can be my colour burrito any day.

I was laughing out loud, crying the typical Molly McAdams induced tears, swooning, and falling in love over and over during this entire read.

It’s so much more than a novella, and y’all won’t regret one page.

5 unicorn STARS!

I've read a few Molly McAdams books, so I think I knew what to expect when I picked up Changing Everything. Molly somehow manages to write over the top emotional stories that make me have all sorts of feelings. In the end I was left somewhere in the middle of feeling like throwing my Kindle across the room or giving it a big hug. I couldn't decide which.

The characters came off as immature at times, so that was quite off-putting. Eli was clueless about Paisley's feelings, and I thought he was a selfish jerk at times. Thinking that Paisley may be moving on without him is all it takes for Eli to realize that he can't live without her. Paisley spent way too many years being Eli's 'wingman'. I could definitely sympathize with her when she had to decide whether she wanted to pursue a new relationship or take a chance on Eli. I don't mind triangles if they are done right, and I think this was handled very well. Okay, well enough except for the super psycho love part of the triangle. He was a little over the top crazy.

Changing Everything had a lot of angst, which I love for some reason, and a really sweet ending. It was an enjoyable novella that was quick and easy to read. The story had humor, pain, friendship, a triangle, and lots of hot monkey sex steamy love scenes. This is New Adult so it's definitely for a more mature reader.

That was boring, and unrealistic. Leads without any charms, both of them. Eli was immature, and needed to suffer more. Paisley was spineless. The story itself didn't have much of a charm. The writing was rushed as well, the story was done by like 30% and the rest was just fillers. Also another thing is you cannot ruin one character to make another one look good, it just shows how bad the creativity and writing is and how the author ran out of idea midway through that she had to resort to pettiness to extend the book. 2/5.

I wasn't expecting much with knowing this was a novella. Duh, I should have known Molly McAdams would bring amazing characters and a solid plot to us that felt like a book 3x longer than what it was. Love Eli and Payton together. This was AWESOME! It was a great friends become more and it was HAWT on many levels!

This is your pining away for your best friend, how do I get out of the friend zone because he is my soul mate, if he would just open his eyes and quit treating me like his wingman and being a slut with all his one night stands... And add in a danger twist to hopefully get to a happily ever after!

My Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.

Disclaimers: I received an e-galley of this novel from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not obligated to write a good review nor did I receive any compensation for writing this review.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I have certainly had mixed feelings about this author and so I was interested in seeing how I'd feel about this one. This novel was unlike what I expected.

I'm used to McAdams writing insanely emotional novels that make me furious or make me want to cry. This novel proved to be a fun, cute read.

It's a novella and so everything was super fast-paced, but I loved the relationship between Paisley and Eli. It was so cute.

This novel is perfect for fans of romance.

So why 3 stars? While it was a fun, cute read, it just didn't really have anything that made it stand out to me.

Can I read the series out of order? I did. I definitely had a few moments where I thought I wonder if I'm missing something here, but this novel can definitely be read as a stand-alone.

Warnings/Side-notes: This novel is definitely for 17 . It's new adult/adult and so it contains more graphic sexual descriptions. It's on the tamer side, however.

The Wrap-up: An enjoyable novel that was a quick, fun read.

3 Friends to Lovers Stars!

Source: eARC for Honest Review Courtesy of William Morrow via Edelweiss

It has been almost a year since I read Forgiving Lies and Deceiving Lies so I was a little hazy on what the connection of Eli and Paisely were to those novels.   Later in the book I was re-informed that Eli was the sister to Candice and Rachel which made so much more sense to me after that.

This book had two things that I loved.  1) Friends to lovers and 2) Molly McAdams.  And yes another love triangle type scenario that Molly is famous for.

"I can live without him - I can't live without you."

Paisely Morro is in love with her best friend Eli Jenkins, but he does not have a hot clue about it.  He adores and loves his best friend but doesn't see her as anything but that.  So he unknowingly hurts her over and over again as he is with other woman but sub consciously doesn't want her with any one else.

Paisely would have settled for unrequited love but after meeting Brett and a new spark comes to light she now has to confront what she wants.   Paisely is conflicted with wants and what ifs so she enlightens Eli on her feelings which causes him to fall apart because he doesn't know what to do with this information but he does know he doesn't want to lose his best friend.

As I stood in the parking lot watching her drive away, I knew I'd just lost the only girl who'd ever meant anything to me.

After dropping the ball and not getting the answer she was looking for Paisely moves on. Unbeknown to her Eli is back home taking care of some family drama which causes him to re-evaluate his feelings for Paisely.

Now back home he has to fight for any chance to be with his best friend.  Paisley thought she made a choice but once Eli throws down the gauntlet she gets all muddled up with her heart now she has to decide what she wants for her future.

This was a cute novella with a good friends to lovers story.  It had heartache and angst with a nice balance of chemistry and love.  It also had a bit of frustration from me, after Paisely drops the bomb to Eli and doesn't get the answer she wants she moves on but when Eli gets his head out of his butt she doesn't give him the full chance to explain because he didn't fall into line of how she wanted things to play out.  This part frustrated me but thankfully it was short lived.  As with novellas sometimes we miss the growth of feelings or the relationship escalades too quickly which did happen time to time within the story but it was still sweet and cute and could be read as a standalone novella for sure.

Three and a half stars

Paisley Morro has loved Eli Jenkins for half her life. But she realizes that he doesn’t feel the same, despite their best-friend status and his reliance on her as his wingman.

3/5. Felt this needed more development, it was fine at first, but I wish we got more backstory on how they became friends

Good

This book had many sides to it. Glad to see that Eli got his head out of ass. I’m a little surprised how Payton’s attitude was, especially at the end. But great book series

Short but sweet! I love that it was more novella size so the readers didn’t have to go they all the heartache. Yet we still got all the emotion and pull and angst and love.
