The One Handed Crossed Swords Edition Series - Easter Novella

Well, this is just awful.

Horrendous, really.

And now it's time that I, The Archangel Micah, take control of the situation.

The humans have taken matters into their own hands, and now Easter is an absolute disaster. There is a giant rabbit, rainbow baskets, chicken eggs, and no one seems to be able to tell me whether or not the children are terrified or excited. But not to worry. Now that I'm aware of the problem, I have assembled the Heavenly Council to fix it. We'll appoint our own Easter Bunny and regain control of this catastrophe.

It's all going to plan until the irritating, gray-skinned demon waltzes in, with his lazy smile and taunting grin. Xalreth thinks he's the right one for the job. He believes he has what it takes to handle such an important position, but he's about to learn who's in charge around here.

Author's This is an 18+ erotic novella based loosely on holiday themes. Read accordingly.

About the author

G. Eilsel

16 books239 followers
G. Eilsel started writing under this pen name in early 2024, publishing works in two genres she loves: eccentric novellas and MM romance.

Her writing puts a focus on sarcasm, snarky humor, sometimes horrible puns, and steamy scenes that'll make your momma blush. Expect heavy spice, in any sort of variety you're looking for-sweet, emotional, depraved, or downright questionable.

Some of her books are one-handed reads with minimal plot, others are more intricate stories that weave themselves through her brain and demand to be put on paper. Angsty and emotional, light and giggle-inducing, and everything in between can be found between the covers of her books.

She doesn't take herself too seriously, throwing pieces of her humor and quirky personality in her writing. If she can't live up to her title of a One-Handed author, then maybe she can at least make you smile.

I knew it'll be fun, & it f'ing delivered 😍😭🤣.
A MM Paranormal romance with Demon x Archangel, all the feels & banters, Easter Bunny shenanigans, filthy kinky hotness 🥵, adorable love —I cried & smiled lots!
2 side characters from previous 2 books come together explosively 😏. Loved Micah & Xalreth so much 🥰. The cameos, yay! Devoured my #ARC in 6hrs. Definitely going to be 1 of my favs! I ended my March with a bang 😘.

Micah is head of the heavenly council, arrogant, pompous & striving for perfection. Beneath is a guy stressed from it all 🥺, wanting a moment to just breath & be happy, so cute. His sub awakening is hot & beautiful. His insecurities broke my heart 😭😭. He's so cute when he's lighthearted!
Xalreth works for The Lucifer, but the latest one is getting on his nerves 😅 (X just wanna get away!). He's a sarcastic guy who's typically mild but can be playful, filthy & dominating 🤭. He's possessive, protective & caring too. Hesitant to love yet falls nevertheless!

X+M's dynamic's so exciting! I thought M'll give in too easily but the push/pull & the "X riling M up" ensued was so fun 😍. The messy, hurt, attitude, heck yeah! Easter Bunny research aka Close/forced proximity 😁. The kink, holy hotness, that shopping list 🥵. Leash, Praise, Edging & more! X's words made M melt 😍.

The angst was perfect for story, the emotions made me sob so much 😭😭. Damien was such a (fun) asshole here lol, ngl I wanted his & X's confrontation! Will be cool bonus. That climax & ending were beautiful. I loved ch 7 🥺. Cute epilogue 🥰.

"Who knew the angel with the resting bitch face and razor blade tongue had a smile capable of eclipsing a thousand suns?"

G. Eilsel once again delivers a HIGHLY ENTERTAINING and absolutely absurd story. That still also somehow packs big feelings. It's some sort of sorcery, I'm sure.

This is one of her holiday novellas, so it's an Easter bunny/Easter themed tale.

Micah, the archangel sort of in charge of things decides that someone needs to do some information gathering on the Easter Bunny. Micah is in charge of the Santa, and the Lucifer, the tooth fairy, the Cupid, and father time. But this Easter Bunny situation needs to be dealt with.

* The entire first meeting had me cackling so hard I genuinely thought I was going to pass away. It was absolutely unhinged, and I was here for it.

Xalreth, the put upon assistant to the Lucifer, is looking for any excuse to get away from the shenanigans. He volunteers to be a part of this Easter Bunny situation.

What follows is HILARITY at its finest. And some seriously 🔥 HOT 🔥 scenes with Micah. Like, omg.

As always, this novella is smuttastic and not at all vanilla. The spicy scenes were popping off in a big way! All along scenes of getting to know Micah (and kind of spoilers alert: he will break your heart).

I loved Xalreth and Micah. I loved how Metal Easter is ✨️peeps✨️. I loved seeing Damien and Niklaus. I loved seeing sweet Azrael again, too. I'm legit hoping for a hot Father Time novella now. ✨️pleeeeeease✨️

Huge thank you to G Eilsel for my ARC 💜

Ok so yall know how much of a mood reader I am. and sometimes it sucks because I really just never know what I’m actually in the mood for. But let me tell you G Eilsel’s One-Handed Holidays novellas ALWAYS hit. They’re steamy, easy to read, and freaking hilarious.

Some of these scenes and interactions between Xalreth and Micah had me in actual tears because I was laughing so hard. I mean seriously- what do you expect when and Archangel teams up with a demon and they play Easter bunny 😂 And of course the spice had me blushing too. I mean the mouth on these men. PHEW.

Things I loved (spoiler free):
⚖️back and forth banter
💜good boy
👮🏻‍♂️police chase
😈 meddling friends
⛓️new jewelry

I absolutely fell in love with an
Easter Bunny/Demon 😆.That is something I never thought I would think nor write in my lifetime, but here we are 😆. G.Eilsel just knocks another one of these fun novellas out of the park. Each one is such a fun read that you can't help but laugh out loud well you're reading them.

This was another fun read from G Eisel! I enjoyed Micah and Xalreth. We first met them in prior novellas and now they got their own. I felt bad for Micah! He was misunderstood, under so much pressure and he could also sense everyones feelings towards him. Xalreth & Micah were both guarded and it was hard for them to open up. Micah was so vulnerable while he was with Xal, and Xal didn't always know how to act towards Micah, so he acted nonchalant and unperturbed.

I loved their dynamic, and just know that Xalreth can be very creative in the bedroom.

There was laughter, while they blundered their way through doing research on the Easter Bunny.

Definitely a fun read and a different take on the Easter Bunny.

Another hilarious addition to this chaotic holiday series. The story follows the archangel Micah in his quest to create a true Easter bunny. Who better to fill the position of Easter Bunny than Xalreth, a giant, bald, grey demon with a terrifying smile! 😂

The book follows the two of them as they attempt (and mostly fail) at turning Xal into the Easter bunny. I will say that this is the only book in the series that I recommend reading the other books in the series before, as it works better when it’s not red as a standalone.

This book was so funny. There were so many situations that had me cackling. There was also a really sweet journey of self acceptance for Micah. Xal really is the person who can help him truly feel that he is deserving of love. It’s also spicy as hell.

Though the plot was a little bit flimsy in this one, especially with the third act to break up, the humor, and excellent characters still made it such a fantastic read. I can’t wait to read more in this series!

ARC review for Deviled Eggs by G. Eilsel

Thanks to G. Eilsel for the ARC opportunity!

Featured tropes: MM, workplace romance, holiday novella, hurt/comfort, angel/demon, light Dom/sub, forbidden romance, Easter Bunny awakening

Trigger warning: The author has a comprehensive shopping list of explicit content so definitely check that out if you have any triggers surrounding that.

Review: 4.5/5

Okay, so, this was how I ended my review for the previous novella, Quiver: "And Micah. I want someone to come in and just make Micah just beg. Boss on streets, sub in sheets, please." Folks, ask and you shall receive. My wish has been granted in the form of a Demon Dom to put our sub angel in his desired place.

Things I liked:
- I loved seeing our big demon Xalreth soften for our troubled archangel Micah. The juxtaposition between the two's personalities was a fun balance and seeing Micah relinquish control was honestly such a power move on his part. I love to see it.
- As usual, the spice was spicin'. I don't think I've ever been disappointed by the spice in one of G Eilsel's books.
- As with past books by G Elisel, I'll keep this in. This book is just FUN! It's perfectly light with a touch of angst and the puns and humor just made me happy. G Eilsel's writing style is just perfect for me, honestly. I love the tension and spice of a book but I'm also a sucker for puns and sarcasm and banter and she just pairs all of that together so freakin' perfectly.

Things I disliked or missed the mark:
- Really, nothing. The book was fun and it was delightful to read. I only wished I had more time with our boys.

As always, G Eilsel doesn't miss for me. If you like banter, spice, humor, spice, puns, spice, and a little forbidden romance in between, give this quickie a read!

How is it that this author keeps coming out of its books that just captures my heart each and every time? I thought it was just going to be straight up spice but this story was so endearing from making me laugh, cry, and the swoon moments were perfect. The first chapter had me dying and we get to see the humor so early on.

I felt so bad for Micah because he’s never had anyone’s attention but when he gets Xalreth on this Easter Bunny ridiculous project, they get so close. My favorite hilarious moment was the whole leather outfit with the bunny mask. I have never laughed so hard in my life. The shenanigans were just downright ridiculous.

I also loved each and every time when Xal stood up for Micah. Everyone was just awful to him and Micah just took their wrath. I absolutely loved the first time they become intimate and what Micah wears… ugh, just so damn adorable. He just wanted to be pretty for him, like oh my god…!

I also loved all the side characters. It was so worth to see how everyone reacted. I did want to smack a few of them but it was worth it. The back and forth with Micah and Xal was worth it and when they finally confessed their feelings - so perfect.

I absolutely loved this story so much and I never thought I would want so much more.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.\

This was an unexpected surprise in the best kind of way. I've read all of the holiday spicy novellas and I immediately applied to ARC read this one when the opportunity arose. I expected it to be hilarious and smutty and full of shenanigans.
And it is that. I was cackling within the first few pages and laughed quite a bit at the random hi-jinks and hilarity throughout the story.
But what I didn't expect was Micah's personal storyline. The love starved, touch starved angel that has a rigid outer appearance that belies his vulnerable and lonely inner self. The need to shut everything down, to simply exist and submit.
His pain and inner monologues drew me in and held me captive. Every moment, every inch Xalreth gave Micah took my breath away, while every hesitation and unspoken sentiment along with the devastating consequences broke my heart.
The push, the pull, then love overcoming all odds and the pain of each misstep along the way was the underlying story I wasn't expecting, but I absolutely devoured every moment of it. It gave so much depth, beauty, and triumph throughout the story.
So yes, it's hilarious and smutty and a heck of a lot of fun, but the unexpected angst of Micah's storyline interwoven throughout, made this story so much more for me!

🌶🌶🌶🌶

I have come to love these books by G Eisel. You get all the feels with some laughs and top tier spice 🔥 This is written as a stand alone but I think it would help to read Letters to Satan and Quiver to get a background on these 2 characters.

Micah is an Archangel with an attitude and Xalreth is like head Demon serving The Lucifer. Xal currently hates his role so when the opportunity for Easter Bunny pops up he is quick to 𝐽𝑢𝑚𝑝 on it. The problem is Micah and Xal have no clue what Easter is about or what the Easter Bunny is supposed to be doing. I was cackling at times when they were doing their research and trying to figure out costumes just hysterical. As these 2 are trying to figure out Easter they are getting closer and closer together and Xal is seeing behind the diva mask the Micah puts on. Like you stop right now why was my heart absolutely breaking for Micah at one point. He started out as this drama queen and just grew to be so much more. Which is my favorite part about these stories. It is a Novella so you get right into it here nothing is too drawn out and we get a super sweet HEA 🐰🥚

“𝘼𝙡𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡. 𝙇𝙚𝙩’𝙨 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮.”

Yay! Micah finally got his book, and wow, what a ride! I was so intrigued by him in previous books in this series, and this continuation of his character did not disappoint. Seeing his vulnerabilities—his need to be perfect and in control—was unexpectedly heart-wrenching.

Xalreth was just the perfect demon dom, who just wrecked me with his energy. Watching Micah let go of his control and surrender completely was honestly beautiful to witness.

I was practically on edge towards the end, desperately waiting for that HEA we were promised. I almost wrote a letter of complaint, but I held out longer than Micah’s arrogance (which was saying something).
The Easter theme runs throughout the story well. The whole Easter Bunny costume fiasco had me in stitches. Even when they got it right, they got it wrong 🤣

I love these stories so much. Is the man upstairs getting his own book next? Maybe... 🤔

Out of all the books in the One Handed Crossed Swords series, I wasn't prepared to love Micah's story the most. In the previous books, he's been portrayed as a stoic, unfeeling hard*ss, but what Xal uncovers is that he's simply been unloved and unseen his whole incredibly long life. Once Micah starts being vulnerable and opening up to Xal - man, it made me want to go back and smack every character from every previous book that was mean to him. Protect this sweet angel at all costs.

"It's all going to be okay. I only wish we'd taken the time to dance. Then at least I would've had that to hold onto." Cue the waterworks, and I'm not a crier.

While we do get the usual snark, banter, humor and steam (loooots of steam) in this book, I found it to have way more emotion and angst than the usual G. Eilsel book (still lower on my personal angst scale though). It's an amazing addition to this series and I loved every minute of it.

4 stars for understanding the assignment.

3 stars for my personal liking.

I have loved pretty much every book I have read by this author. This is the newest novella in the One-Handed Holidays, Crossed Swords Edition. As with all other novellas in this series, you get exactly what you expect: a high spice, holiday-themed read with a quick developing plot and lot of giggles. Unlike other books of this author’s, I had a hard time getting into this book. The writing style, the humor, the character development was all wonderful and similar to the author’s other works. I feel that the plot line relating to the Easter Bunny was just not as engaging as the plot lines of the other novellas in this series. But, these novellas aren’t really about the plot as much as the spice! So I won’t complain too much.

I loved the character Xalreth in Letters to Satan, and so I was tickled to see he was one of the main characters this time. He was everything I wanted him to be. Micah was not my favorite character. I can’t exactly put my finger on why. It’s probably a me thing. I adored getting to see glimpses of other characters from previous stories in the series!

Be sure to check the trigger warnings. I personally struggle with reading scenes that include chastity caging, boot/foot play, and leash play. They are not true triggers for me, just not my jam. If you struggle with any of these, know that I was able to read through everything with just a tiny bit of discomfort. This particular book was not my favorite of this series because of some of the scenes. Again, this is a me thing, nothing against the author or writing.

I again applaud the author for a fabulous inclusion of safe words and the necessity of them. I cannot love more the line, “I would never be so careless as to take away your control without giving you a way to reclaim it. What’s your safe word?”

Overall if you have read and enjoyed any of the other novellas in this series, you should read this one, too! And if you haven’t, but this book sounds good, you should read this one AND all the others in the series!

One of my ABSOLUTE favorite authors with another snarky, spicy, HILARIOUS, and angsty holiday-themed novella. This book was under 200 pages and kept me turning the page. It’s an interconnected stand-alone in the One-Handed Holidays series, which means characters in this universe appear in other books, but you don’t have to read the prior ones to follow along with this one.

I’m not going to lie, this is not a book for everyone. If you can get past the 2 main characters being an Archangel and a demon, while it also being steamy, then welcome, you’re in the right place lol. I loved the characters’ connection. The push and pull of it all just kept reading and reading.

I always looks forward to G. Eilsel announcing a new release because it never disappoints.

This was my first read by G. Eilsel and I loved it! If you like snarky, super sexy, funny yet touching and emotional stories you should check this out!

What do you get when you take a stubborn Archangel and and even more stubborn Demon who decide to partner up to get a leg up on the human’s creation of the Easter Bunny? Hilarity and explosive passion. 🔥The parts where they try out different Easter things in the human realm made me laugh out loud!

Micah and Xalreth make a super hot but sweet couple and I highly recommend! I really like their interactions. They were pretty romantic for a demon and an uppity archangel.

this was a fantastic bit of erotica from the queen of erotica herself. i’m not going to lie tho, the beginning part did drag a bit, where all of the entities(?) are discussing the easter bunny phenomenon. the back and forth between all the different characters got very confusing for me, but that’s totally on me—NOT the author. i got a bit frustrated with it and put it down for a few days. then my friend urged me to skim over that bit, because you’d sort of catch up on all that thought the rest of the story, and once you get to the smut, the story would pick up. and boy did it. this book kit so many of my kinks it’s not even funny. not only was this absolutely FILTHY, it was also incredibly sweet and fluffy. it was such a delightful read

Like the previous novellas, this story was so much fun! There is the usual spice and banter from each of the characters, but I feel like this story a bit more emotional. Micah is used to everyone talking negatively about him and living with unrealistic expectations of himself. Xal is able to give Micah the freedom to quiet those thoughts and find some happiness and laughter. I probably say this for each new couple, but these two might be my new favorites. I loved this story start to finish, and might have teared up from the sweetness. I am obsessed with every story G. Eilsel produces, and I really hope she keeps blessing us with amazing stories.

Oh holy moly… I think this is my favourite MM “One Handed Holiday” yet!!

It’s SPICY, and oh so sweet. Panty melting, yet feet-kicking giggling and swooning.

I think there is a more emotional aspect to this story than in the others in the series. Both Xal and Micah come into their own when they realize they can be their authentic self’s when they’re together. It’s so beautiful to read!

These novellas just keep getting better and better, and I will absolute devour anything that G Eilsel writes!!

Great addition to this series, this book centers around the Easter bunny mythos(and the wild misunderstandings within it, I cried laughing so hard!). Micah is a great character, not exactly as he seems and unintentionally mischievous. Xaleth is a bit more intense, and not exactly bunny material. So funny, a great figuring out of who you are and what you want with a ton of the spice that this author is known for. Definitely recommend!

The emotional range that Micah showed caught me by surprise. I was not prepared to feel as deeply as I did for him. I mean he’s an Angel so you kind of expect it but not like that. I just want to give that giant angel baby all the hugs!

Xalreth was also a lovely surprise. No one suspects a demon to care in such a way but Xalreth definitely said “oh yeah?! Hold my beer!”

There’s even a perfectly executed “Bend & Snap”. Elle Woods would approve 💅

Another ridiculously great (but surprisingly romantic) read 🍫🐇

Oh my, my, Micah! How the mighty have been brought to their knees! I am so onboard for this!

If you’re looking for the book you didn’t know you needed then look no further! This is a standalone in the Crossed swords series but given that some of your favourite characters pop back, i recommend going and reading the others first!

Who knew an archangel could get into so much trouble! And with a demon at that! Everything you thought you knew about heaven and hell will be called into question!

Expect a lot of snark, hilarity and spiciest up the wazoo! Enjoy!

Fast-paced, short, fun, spicy, easy to read. I love the characters in this series and the ironic comments and phrases the author incorporates are so funny. The tension between the leads was crazy in the beginning then turned into such a hot but sweet story. Also, their non-experience with the human race is absolutely hilarious. The writing style is great and I love dual POV. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

I absolutely love this holiday series. Every book I've read of it is so good! I couldn't even decide which is my favorite if I had to, I love them all!

Demon x Archangel

Both characters were already in previous books in this series and now have their own story. And what a story it was. It's funny like the others but also emotional. The both can be themselves with each other and I really like them together.

I hope there will be many more books in this holiday series, what's next?

Hilarious and yet sweet and tender

This was a perfect addition to the One Handed series. I adored seeing Micah and Xalreth again, plus cameos from the previous books. I expected the humor, which was fantastic, but the emotions it evoked surprised me. It had a lot of vulnerable, sweet and tender moments. Don’t forget the spice, which was very hot! The ending was wonderful. I am definitely buying all of these to put on my shelf and reread often!

I really liked this book. The banter between characters is always great with a G. Eilsel book and this one didn't disappoint. There were laughter and high jinx a plenty throughout the story. It's a very spicy book, so if kinky, spicy, and instalove isn't for you, I would give it a miss, but I personally loved the entire ride.
