With a tortured past, she’s a cat-shifter who refuses to get close to anyone. Yet she can’t seem to resist the leader of the vampire protectors.
Phoenix Kaplan has never felt a connection like the one she has with Dante Leonidas. She might service him monthly, allowing him to feed from her blood, but as much as her body tells her differently, she knows it can be nothing more, not with her insecurities and inability to be intimate with a male.
That is, until she realizes the one thing she desires most in the world is something he could give her…and she propositions him to get her pregnant.
She’s never wanted anything more than to be a mother, and all she needs is this one thing from Dante.
Although he should refuse, Dante can’t resist the temptation. He’s addicted not only to her blood, but also to the enigma that is purely Phoenix. And he is determined to prove to her that he can give her much more than what she asked for.
She might protect her heart with an impenetrable wall, but he’s willing to do whatever it takes to break down that wall in order to get what he desires most in the world.
R.L. Kenderson is two best friends writing under one name. They met in college and bonded over their love of reading and the TV show Charmed. They write spicy romance that often makes you laugh.
A really good book, poor Dante had to work so slow and hard with Phoenix, trying to help her feel comfortable and confident with him. He also worked really hard getting her comfortable with sex. Phoenix, is a different person than the one we met in, the earlier books. She's also dealt with some sick people in her life, leaving her scared and uncomfortable in her own skin.
Also, just cuz it's nice to know what you're going to be reading about, there's two gay men. They like each other, and try a relationship. It didn't bother me, however I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. It's not centered on them and I thought, everything was tasteful.
Again, this was a pretty long book and lots of stuff happens. It's great to have the same gang together, throughout all four books. I really enjoyed these characters, getting to have them in all four books was a bonus.
It's also cool, how the Authors have the main couple obviously, in the story and are concentrated on them. Yet also have other relationships blossoming, or ending. It's not just the main characters falling in love, or being focused on.
One of the vampires makes the wrong friends, from there one bad thing after another happens. She certainly is remorseful, but does she learn her jealous little lesson? Does she get over her infatuation, with one of her colleagues?
I thought this book was great, actually all four of them have been great. They're definitely worth reading. If you like paranormal romance books, I think you'll enjoy these books. You do need to start with book one, then read them in order. Enjoy these relatable, likable characters on their journey, with all their relationships, problems and cross species mating.
I got this book off booksprout, but left a review on my own.
Forbidden Addiction by R.L. Kenderson is book Four in the "Forbidden" series. This is the story of Phoenix Kaplan and Dante Leonidas. I have read the previous books and the last one did have Phoenix and Dante in it. But you can make this a standalone book if you chose to do so. Phoenix has a issue with getting close with someone and the closest she has come is Dante With others having babies, Phoenix thinks that she would want one too. Dante isn't used to having one blood donor or one sex partner but he being more committed to Phoenix and her happiness. But can he overcome her issue to be the person she needs.
This is the fourth book in this series that highlights the difficulties between vampires and shapeshifters. It's been a bumpy ride so far but there is finally cooperation between the different species . As this begins though there's a group of vampires determined to destroy the peace and their antics are escalating. Dante has always enjoyed his blood with a healthy side of something decidedly carnal but recently he's been feeding from cat shifter Phoenix and things are just a little bit complicated. Phoenix has huge issues when it comes to intimacy and always keeps everyone at a distance but there's a unique connection between them that neither really know how to broach. Still when Phoenix makes an unusual request of Dante he's not going to pass up a golden opportunity to finally get her to lower her barriers. I did find that there was initially quite a lot of information from previous stories present here so if you haven't read this series in order this does work as a standalone. That being said there are supporting characters in play here who actually at times dominated the plot. Yes it's essentially the book that brings Dante and Phoenix together but honestly for this reader it was everything happening around them that had me sitting up and taking notice. I really like that the authors give us interesting and diverse characters and even though I don't usually read M/M books there is the beginnings of that type of romance here plus a certain jealous Guardian gets a huge wake up call ! Yes this was an entertaining read but I suspect that it will be Dante and his patience that will melt most readers hearts ! This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading an ARC Copy of ‘FORBIDDEN ADDICTION’ (via: BooksMoviesFandoms.wordpress.com):
*May contain Spoilers if you haven’t read the previous novels of the Forbidden series yet.*
This review is for the long awaited and much anticipated fourth novel of the Forbidden Series titled: Forbidden Addiction by R. L. Kenderson. This series never disappoints and continues to deliver with sexy romance, suspense and an enthralling story-line that will keep you hooked. I absolutely love the fact that this story is so intricate and diverse with its characters. It’s never focused on only a couple of characters and that keeps their world of shifters, vampires, and humans very fascinating and entertaining. If you enjoy multiple P.O.V.’s(point of views) in a story, this one offers a variety for readers. There are five P.O.V.’s from: Sentinel Shifter Phoenix Kaplan, Guardian Dante Leonidas(Vampire), Guardian Hunter Esmund(Vampire), Guardian Lexine Harlow(Vampire), and Guardian Sterling Wardell(Vampire).
Phoenix Kaplan is a Sentinel Cat Shifter who had recently survived a kidnapping and the horrible treatment from her kidnapper. She has a strong attraction to a Vampire Guardian named Dante that makes her feel things she’s never felt toward any man before. There’s only one problem, she won’t allow herself to get closer to him because of her history with the opposite sex. Phoenix carries so many fears hidden behind her tough exterior, so will she be able to find her happiness or will she always be stuck behind her past issues?
Vampire Guardian Dante Leonidas doesn’t understand his attraction to Phoenix, who is nothing like him and he finds it very hard to ignore it. When Phoenix gives him an outrages yet intriguing offer, he must decide if he’ll help her out. If he does see it through, will he be able to truly help her the way she needs most?
Just when they thought things would calm down after killing their enemy Gerald, something else begins occurring. The Cat Shifters and Vampires have made an alliance since their leaders have married. It seems it has come at a cost by those who don’t agree with that alliance. Will they catch those behind the vigilante and growing violent acts before someone is harmed?
Guardian Hunter Esmund has always felt something was missing with his attraction toward the opposite sex. He practically has given up on looking and just keeps things simple. When he meets wolf-shifter Quentin, he begins feeling things he’s never felt before. There’s a genuine attraction. But could this just be a curiosity or is there something developing that he can’t ignore? And how could this effect his role as a Guardian?
Vampire Guardian Lexine Rocha has always had a crush on fellow Guardian Dante but he’s never felt the same for her. Out of spite, she made friends with a group of vampires that disliked the new pact made between the vampires and the shifters. Lexine must choose between her duty as a Guardian and her new friends. When she finds herself in a difficult situation, will she be able to find her way out of it? How will Guardian Sterling Wardell do when he discovers that Lexine has been hiding something from all of them?
This series will take readers on an enjoyable journey into the world full of intriguing characters and a story that never falls short. I highly recommend “Forbidden Addiction” and this entire series to anyone looking for the next novel and series to get lost in. It’s definitely worth it! I’ve yet to be disappointed by any of these wonderful novels in this entire series. Such an amazing blend of strong and at times, imperfect characters. Check this out for sure! :)

The Forbidden series is back with its 4th instalment! I would recommend you start from the beginning. This book features characters from the other stories, and the other books contain background information to the main characters. I'm a huge fan, and can't get enough of the forbidden series. These books are hot, super sexy, and have gritty storylines. They are more than a romance novel, and I'm hooked.
We meet Phoenix and Dante in the previous book. This is their story, and they have already been through so much together. Phoenix's isn't used to being close, and intermit with others, but that doesn't mean she isn't trying with Dante. She has already let him get so much closer than anyone else. Even though she has a long way to go. She doesn't think she stands a chance at having her happily ever after, and getting the family she always dreamed of.
Dante wants Phoenix to be happy. He has never been committed to feeding on just one blood donor, and he is used to mixing it with sex. He knows Phoenix's past makes her reluctant to want more with him, but she is already his regular blood donor. He wants to prove he can be so much more. Naya and Vaughn's babies are on their way. Phoenix's can't help but be envious of what they have. Dante is about to get the chance he wants. He just has to convince her how good it can be.
We meet some new characters in this book and some old faces return.
Soo it took me a little longer than usual to finish this book since I had to go back and re-read the previous installments to remember characters and storylines. However, needless to say it was a pretty exciting read with a lot of subplots going on mixed with love and peril.
As the authors' usual writing style, Forbidden Addiction essentially centers around one set of characters, cat shifter sentinel Phoenix and vampire guardian Dante, shuffled with a few other shifter and vampire individuals (couples) stories.
For some reason, I personally kept reading for Lexine and Sterling even though I did love Phoenix and Dante. There was just something really exciting when it came to them-- particularly Sterling's unwavering devotion and loyalty-- that tugged my interest and had me scavenging for their chapters. Awww I loved him!!
I also enjoyed seeing glimpses of Naya and Vaughn as well as Kenzie and Sawyer. For those who have kept up with the series, they are the focal characters of bks 1 & 2, Sawyer and Kenzie being my favorite couple period.
Anyway, I want more!!! Not to mention, demand more shifter/vampire babies to be featured in the books!! Aww I love paranormal romances and babies !!
While the main couple in this is Phoenix and Dante, which I absolutely adored plus Lexine as the jealous third, the story covers a big problem going on in the vampire community. With so many interesting characters, some new couples and some heartaches it is throughly entertaining, full of action, sexy times and babies all around. The romance with Phoenix is not an easy task, she has huge issues but big bad alpha Dante has the patience of a saint and a heart just as big. I would really like to know where Saxton stands and see Hunter finally come to his senses. What will be next?? I can't wait to find out!

Molten Hot Fantasy I received and read a free copy of "Forbidden Addiction". This book offers tree hot love stories, two complete and one in the making. First comes the story of cat- shifter sentinel Phoenix and vampire guardian Dante. Or better said this is the peak in their struggle to come together. The beginning of that magnetic push- pull relation resides in book two of the series,"Forbidden Heat", it is expanded along Kenzie and Sawyer's story in the third book, "Forbidden Temptation", and really comes into focus in "Forbidden Addiction". I loved the way Dante's kind and patient heart managed to heal Phoenix in body, mind and soul and I loved that Phoenix was strong enough to want to change, to want to heal. I liked that she new what she wanted and went for it despite being psychologically damaged, and in doing so that she received herself, love and the fruition of that love, just as she yearned. I hate what happened to Kenzie, though I understand that her fortitude in face of her heart breaking tragedy is the lesson Phoenix needed in order to get passed her disappointment and offer herself another shot at true happiness with Dante. I hope that Kenzie and Sawyer will get another shot at this in the future.
Second story is the tale of vampire guardians Lexine and Sterling. Though it starts on the wrong foot, as a love triangle between Dante, Lexine and Sterling, with Dante being in the blind about all of it, it end beautifully. I liked that the feeling in the end is not that Lexine had to settle for her second choice, but that she was mistaken in thinking she truly loved Dante in the fist place.
The third story involves vampire guardian Hunter and wolf-shifter sentinel Quentin. Its a molten hot tale of two males and can't wait to see where is goes from this point on. I hate that Hunter chose his career over his love life. I get that this type of love was new to him and he had no guarantees that it would be for life, while being a Guardian was something steady and defining for his self image. But its just sad that he hadn't fought at all to have bought in his live: career and love, and I hope he gets the chance to remedy that.
All in all I really enjoyed reading this book and I can barely wait to immerse myself in the next chapter of the Forbidden Series! I hope the wait won't be long!
I am not going to lie, this is the book that I have been waiting for. Needless to say it took me 24hrs to read (I had to sleep or else I would not have made it through the day).
From the minute Phoenix entered the series when she had to "babysit" Vaughn and Naya, I knew that she was troubled but also special. I suppose it was the way she was drawn to Dante that made me feel even more curious as to what her deal was. And then Dante came along with his fine self and that scar that is all the way from his shoulder, across his abdomen and stops at the top of his hip! Yes. I am that girl, scars are a huge turn on. Not to mention his... Uhm... Coke can. Wink wink.
The vampire and the cat-shifter have a very unique bond. I mean why else would Phoenix feed him willingly and ask him to make a baby with her? I honestly think that she loved him from the first time he fed from her, she just didn't have any clue. Of course they go on this amazing journey that's not only about opening up. It's also about owning up to their feelings. I'm just glad they found their way back to each other even though the road was bumpy. I am also glad that Lexine got over her infatuation of Dante, her jealousy really put the vampires and shifters in a difficult situation all because she made friends with the wrong people. The green eyed monster sure knows how to torment a person. Hopefully Sterling can keep her in line. And then we have Hunter and Quentin! Yes! Finally a same-sex couple... Hunter - a vampire and Quentin - a wolf-shifter. I hope that their story is continued in book 5 because my heart aches that they broke up.
While I am excited that Isabelle returns in Forbidden Claim I just hope that she isn't there to break Zane's heart again by leaving. As much as he works on everyone's nerves I have a severe soft spot for the cat-shifter. I mean he did take a bullet in the chest not so long ago. Let's hope the wolf-shifter is back for good to claim him as her mate!

**I voluntarily read a review copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's*
This is the fourth book in this series - therefore if you haven't read the first three in the series, please do so - I promise you won't regret it!
I absolutely loved Dante and Phoenix's story - it was everything I imagined it would be and so much more.
I adored Dante - he was sweet, caring and incredibly understanding. He knew Phoenix had issues with sex but he never pushed her instead, he gave her control of their sexual encounters. Phoenix's conflicted emotions, fears and insecurities were captured exceptionally well. There was one scene in the book where I found myself shouting at my kindle lol - I got so frustrated with Phoenix; I wanted to shake some common sense into her. These two had amazing chemistry and I loved the fact that she felt empowered and good that she could have such an affect on Dante.
Hunter and Quentin were cute and I couldn't stop laughing at Hunter's reaction towards Quentin. I'm definitely looking forward to reading their story!
Lexine and Sterling were seriously hot together. I struggled to warm to Lexine but I have to admit, she redeemed herself by the end. I couldn't stop laughing at Lennox talking about the "screamer" who Sterling was screwing all night. Lennox's remark about sharing the vocal woman (aka his own sister) physically made me gag lol.
Forbidden Addiction was a great paranormal read. This is the first book I've read in the series so I would say that it can be read as a standalone. However, while reading this story, I did get the sense that I missed a few things from not having read the previous books, but having not read them didn't make this read any less enjoyable. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I enjoyed it so much that I finished this book in one sitting. I liked that each of the couples were in completely different situations and yet they all overcame their fears; well most of them. I'm excited to read more of Hunter and Quentin to see if things come full circle for them. This group definitely worked well as a whole, vampire guardians and shifters. They still have a lot to learn and a lot to change as a group. Phoenix and Dante were my favorite couple but I enjoyed them all; Kenzie & Sawyer, Lexine & Sterling and Vaughn& Naya. This book was full of action, revenge, betrayal and steamy scenes and I look forward to reading more books from this author in the future. There were heartfelt moments and surprises and the ending was sweet. I definitely look forward to reading the previous books and future books in this series, and highly recommend this one to readers who enjoy great paranormal reads.
Forbidden Addiction is book 4 of R.L. Kenderson's Forbidden Series. This book picks up with Dante and Phoenix's romance a few weeks after the end of book 3. Dane, the head of the vampire Guardians and Phoenix, one of the cat shifter Sentinels relationship is complicated to say the least. Phoenix has had an extremely difficult past as a woman. The parts of her past that she keeps secret have made her hide behind frumpy clothes and fear allowing any of her feminine features to show. Dante is drawn to Phoenix, he wants nothing more than to show her it's okay to be a woman. Forbidden Addiction is full of amazing characters with strength, devotion, lust, loyalty, betrayal, heartache, loss, friendships, family and love. There are complex storylines that are woven together by the authors that pull readers into the story. This is a series that should be read in order as the characters and storyline progresses through each book. I can only imagine and hope there are several more books to come. I've enjoyed the series so much that once I start a book I can't put it down till it's finished. I already can't wait for the next book. I received an ARC from the author. This is my voluntary honest review.
Phoenix seems like a tortured soul, yet she's wise. People really should listen to her more, but they don't because they refuse to see her as wise because she seems like such a loner. But in this book, you get to see into her mind and there's such a chaotic maze of, well, everything. Dante is a Soldier. A leader. He has always been what he is it seems. He protects. And this time he sees Phoenix, and even unknowingly to himself, he has extended his protection to her, even if she doesn't want or need it. And unknowingly to the both of them, there's a massive connection that they just can't ignore. The problem is this: Dante can't seem to get through to Phoenix further than the inch she will give him. She's closed off and he's determined to be there when she finally breaks to help put her back together. No matter which way she will allow him to be there, he will be there. He just wants to stay close to her. Read the book to find out what happens!! You won't be disappointed!!
With a tortured past, she’s a cat-shifter who refuses to get close to anyone. Yet she can’t seem to resist the leader of the vampire protectors. The is the first book I read from this author.
I picked up a copy of the book thru Netgalley and thought what the heck? I don't normally pick up books in the middle of a series but something pushed me to. I'm really glad I did! I enjoyed the story and the characters. I have an issue with dialogue in a lot of books and appreciate the fact that it flowed in this book. It didn't feel forced or trite. There were a couple of times I wished I had read the other books first to keep names and relationships, and species, straight but not enough that I stopped reading. This was a quick read for me because I was interested in where the story and the characters were going. And not just Dante and Phoenix. I enjoyed them but Hunter and Quentin? I can't wait for more of them!
This is the 4th book in this series and does not disappoint! The writers have done an awesome job of recapping the previous storylines for new and loyal readers. Where do I start? I love Phoenix and Dante! The dynamic of the main story and supporting characters will have you reading it straight through. The understanding that Dante shows his leading lady and her desire to overcome child trauma to have a child is a page turner. Of course in this series of vampires and shifters you have your dose of adventure, battles, and a hot sex scenes. If you are a J.R. Ward and Christine Feehan fan this is a must read.
Once again these two ladies take the reader on a wild wild ride with not only vampires and wolf-shifters, but also lion-shifters for good measure in this the fourth book in the Forbidden Series. This story includes action, suspense, paranormal romance, and of course lots of wild hot sex amongst the various species and half-species in the book. The way the story unfolds and is written makes this vision of the world seem like it could possibly be real, somewhere. I have already added the first volume of the series to my TBR pile. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I know admitting I'm hooked to this new addiction is supposed to be a step in the right direction, but I don't want to give it up. Paranormal romance is your thing? Vampires, Wolf Shifters, & Big Cat Shifters are featured. Love steamy passion and alpha males that dominate at all the right times and in all the right ways? This series chronicles the lives and challenges of a variety of characters that are very well developed and refined as they hunt for justice, a way to coexist with different species peacefully, and getting revenge when it's necessary. Read it, it's got it all.
My favorite book in this series so far, I was waiting for Phoenix's book I knew that it would be good and I was not disappointed, This story was truly amazing I loved every page and I hated when it was over I wanted to keep reading about Phoenix and Dante. Dante was the perfect alpha male for Phoenix I loved how he forced her out her comfort zone but at the same time respected that she wasn't always ready. This was a great book and definitely on my all-time favorites list.
I felt like I've waiting forever for the 4th book because I so wanted to read Phoenix and Dante story. Damn was I not disappointed, the chemistry and heartache. I don't want to spoil anything but ah I totally couldn't put it down. This series is definitely 1 of my favorites and would recommend to anyone. I can't wait for the next 1 😍
This is a great 4th book in the series. Dante helps Phoenix overcome her fears and find love in each other. This book also show a couple of other couples that find each other and how they solve a problem that was targeting all the vampires and shifters. In the end Phoenix helps Dante to come up with an idea that we help further the growing bond between all the shifters and vampires.
Every single book, pulls me in and never lets me go. I've loved the development of the story line from the first book, and enjoyed this couple even more so. I cannot wait to see what else goes on with each of the characters that we get introduced to. I love having the in depth information behind each of the characters. I'm so glad that I've been able to read this series.
This story was even better than the previous books of the series. I felt more connected to Phoenix, than I did in the past. I absolutely get her now. Dante, well, he's a perfect example of the Ultimate Alpha vampire mate. It can't get much better than this. I bet the ladies of R.L. Kenderson will have no issues proving me wrong.
I loved Phoenix & Dante's story. It was awesome to see the two hard ass's soft sides. New villains that are up to no good threaten the Shifter/Vampire alliance. Glad Lexine didn't turn out to be a lost cause. Hunter's story is heating up to be one full of obstacles in his head and possibly with authority. Can't wait to see what comes next!
Got it as an arc totally loved it the girls do a brilliant job of keeping u hooked with all the twist and plots can't wait for the nx one .. get ur tissues out coffee and biscuits one book hangover coming
This is not a stand alone. You need to read the first three books to understand what is happening. Forbidden Temtpation focuses on Dante and Phoenix, with developing stories of Quentin & Hunter and Lexine & Sterling.
OMG! R.L. Kenderson put me through the wringer emotionally with this book I love how they deal with hard issues like addiction, sexual assault, homosexuality, ect. They are things that happen every day and they do such a good job of incorporating them so the they don't overwhelm the main story but definitely make you feel and think about them. Love love love!

Favorite quote(s): “Is this because you saw Daenerys’s boobs?”
Thoughts: R.L. Kenderson has quickly become one of my favorite authors….with each book this series just keeps getting better and better! This book features Phoenix and Dante – characters with which we have been introduced to in previous books, and ones I couldn’t wait for to get their own storyline. The writing is intense, yet playful, and the author strikes a good balance emotionally for the reader. While – of course – it is best to read them in order, it can be read as a stand alone. There is a lot of switching character viewpoints in these books – you go from this couple, to that potential couple, back to the original couple – which I typically don’t like, but it just seems to work for these books.
One thing that particularly stood out to me in this book was the introduction of a M/M storyline. Now, I have read books solely on M/M storylines before and it can be done in such an elegant way and it just fits the overall ‘world’ of a series we already love. When the book first started heading in that direction I admit I was hesitant, and even had a moment where I was critical because all the books seem to have one couple in a world that seems to involve a M/M angle. The author, however, managed to pull it off. By the end of the book I was caught up in it and hoping things manage to work out for these two males who seem to have all the odds stacked against them.
To get back to Dante and Phoenix, though, we seen those sparks in previous books. These two are so serious most of the time, but they managed to lighten up and have some funny moments that just appealed to me. This book lived up to the prior books and just captivated me. Loved this addition and anxious for more!
