This book will leave you with a big smile on your face! It is infectiously humorous with great dialogue, full of sharp wit between the two main characters, Delaney and Zinio.
They are super criminals and there is a bit of Bonnie and Clyde about the way they behave except they would never kill anyone. Their relationship reminded me of bits of Moonlighting and Hart to Hart but that is showing my age! Like those two television series, I could see this making a great film.
If you like a thoroughly entertaining, rather tongue-in-cheek crime thriller you will love this book.

This isn't like any thief novel you've ever read. Sure, it has the jailbreaks, the train-explosions and the mid-chase-witticisms. But it also has super-strong somnabulists, robots with dog-fetishes (you heard me) and, at one point, scrabble. Why not?
Moore leaves nothing out, is what I'm saying. He churns through more ideas in a chapter than some writers do in an entire career. It's worth pointing out that some readers may find this disagreeable, even repulsive (you heard what I said about the dog and the robot, right?) but there is a certain kind of booklover who doesn't like having his or her time wasted. This reader will turn up his or her nose at The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, or Midnight's Children, but will be positively delighted by Moore's mile-a-minute ADHD style.
If you don't like what's happening on this page, not to worry -- something else will be right behind it. All you have to do is keep up.

A HEIST TO END ALL HEISTS!!
Dean C. Moore’s engrossing novel, LOVE ON THE RUN is just that. It’s about love between a husband and wife robbery team who are constantly on the move and persistently exchanging intelligent quips. As one of them succinctly puts it, “We rob banks. We make harrowing mistakes. We enjoy priceless banter...”
Indeed they do. Their bantering is quite a treat, and made me feel as if I were witnessing Bonnie and Clyde--meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith--meets Lethal Weapon.
It’s a heist to end all heists. Helicopter flights, sex on ledges, unlikely accomplices, explosions, and funny disguises collide with non-stop movie-like action scenes, pulling in the reader right from the start. Meanwhile, you get another duo conversing. It’s two for the price of one as the head detective on the case (a woman) exchanges ideas with her stalwart helper, a seasoned cop who seems to know far more about life than she does, no matter how intelligent she appears.
As the two different sets of partners circle around each other, one might think, ‘Gee, this is such a fun caper,’ but Moore delves in further, showing us that unspoken, emotional pain is part of life’s many discoveries. That, along with scenes about people suffering from disabilities, made me become even more emotionally involved. A definitely recommended read!

I admit I haven’t encountered such an action-packed, fun read in a long time! It would make a great action movie, with two unforgettable leading characters – a husband and a wife – as bank robbers and a team of NYPD’s finest chasing them. There definitely was never a dull moment in the whole story, when one action sequence followed another. Sarcastic remarks and the hilarity of many situations made me laugh out loud on multiple occasions. What was also great is the couple’s rather altruistic ideas behind the robberies and the way they distributed their money. Not only Zinio and Delaney were delightful and more than colorful protagonists, all the supporting characters were just as fun and remarkable, each in their own way. The dialogues were witty and hysterical at times, plot was fast-moving and filled with unexpected twists and turns, and the author’s imagination definitely deserves a special commendation. Five stars!

Never a Dull Moment!
This novel is not only action-packed, it is also filled with fun. Bank robbing (albeit altruistic) husband and wife, Zinio and Delaney, are delightful characters whose witty dialogue will put a smile on your face, or may even have you laughing out loud. As smart as the duo is at staying several steps ahead of the law, the FBI agent (and crew) chasing them is even more brilliant and never seems to be far behind.
Even though they’re criminals, the author makes the reader empathic to the lead characters because of their likeability and the fact that Delaney (the wife) is actually very ill. Supporting characters, including an “uncle” with Alzheimer’s, an elderly couple so endearing you end up rooting for their success in a bank heist, also engage the reader.
A thoroughly delightful book that keeps you guessing from beginning to end.

This is a wild and crazy story with a pantheon of unique characters. The interaction between the lovers is sarcastic and baiting, as a crew of old and young characters join in on the bank robbing. The book starts with a robbery and than becomes one continuous chase as the FBI analyst and her crew attempt to catch the robbers, while their spree continues. The fun continues unabated as the action travels across country, under water, to New York, the California mountains, and eventually to a cruise ship. The ingenuous ways Zinio finds for he and Delaney to escape as the nets draw n boggle the mind. From start to finish this is a pleasurable romp.

A fun, enjoyable read with plenty of twists. I enjoyed the plot and the way in which they interwined with the characters who were fresh and interesting, well pitted against each other throughout. If you want something just that little bit different, you'll love this

A bickering, bank-robbing couple; an uncommonly smart FBI agent with a great pair of legs; old people barely getting by and an NYPD detective who might be smarter than he looks are just some of the weird and slightly wonderful characters in Dean C. Moore's "Love on the Run."
This novel is pure satire and Moore spares no genre as he leads the reader through a maze of robberies followed by miraculous escapes through sewers, in stolen cars and a stolen tank or two.
Are you, for example, a fan of Hollywood action movies? Moore pokes fun at them in a book that has everything from over-eager (and pretty inept) SWAT teams to Stinger missiles, motorcycle chases, and enough gunfire to keep even a 12-year-old Bruce Willis fan happy.
Do you like adventure novels with heroes who are so brilliant that they are almost superhuman? Moore takes them on as well with a criminal mastermind who is always 10 steps ahead of the cops and a gorgeous FBI team leader who is only a half step behind him (oh, and she's a helluva knitter too.)
Are you big on romantic suspense novels? Don't worry, Moore takes an ax handle to them as well. In fact, there's enough pathos on the pages to make even the toughest reader weep (well, maybe not the toughest reader but...)
You say you like crime stories full of computers and geeky details? Never fear, he skewers them too.
There is, however, also a serious side to this novel in addition to the satire.
Moore takes a moment here and there to have his characters rant about the banks that caused the Great Recession, for example, and about how so many older Americans, who worked their entire lives and paid their taxes faithfully, are being forced to scrape by on meager pensions that make their retirement years a lot less than golden.
It comes down to this: If you're looking for a routine police procedural or a cozy mystery then this isn't the book for you.
If, however, you're looking for something a little different, something with an edge and some pretty interesting characters then this is a book that you'll want to read at least once and probably more than once.

Love on the Run is an action-packed roller coaster of a read with an intriguing plot: husband Zinio and wife Delaney have become adept bank robbers and escape artists in order to finance her cancer treatments. Whatever they have left over from their heists goes to help their elderly friends who have big health care bills.
Meanwhile they are pursued by a tough cookie of a relentless female FBI agent, who is constantly assaulted by her male colleagues’ crude jokes.
The story is punctuated by a running argument between Zinio and Delaney over the lack of romance in their marriage even as they are being shot at, landing a helicopter on a roof, or being strangled by rogue cops. It reads like a sequel to the Tom Cruise/Cameron Diaz spy movie, Night and Day, or even an episode of the old Bruce Willis TV series Moonlighting, with its rapid fire chatter.
The book doesn’t take things too seriously: most characters don’t have last names, there’s little background on our married Robin Hoods, so the reader doesn’t know how Zinio acquired all his helicopter pilot or explosives expertise. The cops and FBI agents say and do things that are outrageous enough to be comical.
When the FBI agent gets too close, in a rollicking chase that goes on and on, Zinio is forced to expand both his base of operations and gang. The ending is satisfying, with a nice twist. Recommended for the reader looking for lively movie-style action rather than an authentic crime drama.

The best description I can give this would be a benevolent Bonnie and Clyde chase book, yeah, they’re criminals. Him, Zinio, the brains, wit and smoothness of three James Bonds. Her? Delany, Smart, socially conscious, beautiful and tragic. The action in this book makes the blues Brothers look like the Notebook. All the while surrounded by characters straight out of a Don Knott’s comedy. Even the LEO’s have their own psychosis. If you are willing to suspend a little disbelief (Hollywood would go broke making the movie) this book is a lot of fun.
The writing is fine, no major flaws. Where I feel this book shines is the witty dialogue. It’s hard to make me laugh and I laughed out loud more than once. There is a line in here about the suburbs that made Coke Zero come out of my nose. There may be a sequel, but knowing the characters, well, just read it.
Two problems. The action may be over the top. Over the top like saying a desert is too rich. That’s subjective and may be what the author had in mind. Also the middle of the book becomes jarringly pornographic for no apparent reason. This doesn’t last but a few pages, not counting the sheep dog and, well, you’ll have to read it. Everything else was witty and paced and it just didn’t fit.
I have one test, If I knew then what I know now would I read it? Yes. Yes I would.

Oh my! I've fried my brains reading this author's sci-fi and steampunk novels so when I saw he'd written a crime thriller/romantic comedy I thought that would be normal. Wrong! It was as zany and unpredictable as his other books. I think the reason I come back for more is just as my brain hurts by how outlandish the plot has become the author slips in a very intelligent and perceptive comment about human nature.
Like all his books this is a fun albeit bizarre story. (Some of the humour in this one is a bit "close to the knuckle" and may offend some people). A husband and wife decide bank robberies are the best way to pay for cancer treatment. The situations they get themselves into are off the scale of predictability. During two of their heists they are assisted by a group of geriatrics trying to fund their heath bills, one of which is in a wheelchair and another has Alzheimer's.
The FBI agent on their tail has issues of her own to deal with while being back stabbed by the team she leads. The resources at her command from helicopters, to tanks to missile blasters are extreme! Most of the interesting insights in to human psychology are at her expense.
Another imaginative and totally unique read from Moore.

Love on the Run is it's own genre. Definitely action, certainly wit/humor, add a touch romantic with a topping of crime drama and you may come close to Dean C. Moore's creation. The writing is quick, don't expect any explanations. Imagine in your head if you will, that older sibling quiping 'keep up will ya!' I realized quickly I would need to focus and keep up. The story is a twisting roller coaster ride with Delaney and Zinio robbing, fleeing, bickering, escaping, bickering some more and loving for good measure. I don't know why they rob banks, love or romance, doctors bills or charity, nothing is ever fully explained. I don't now why they bicker all the time, perhaps as a way to keep things outside of a reality with a harsh ending looming. And I have no idea why Delaney is so hard on Zinio when he clearly knows his s#$*. But once you accept not knowing you get to go for a fun ride. The humor is quick and sharp, the action surprising and far from cliche. I think there was enough sarcasm to shame any teenage girl (or boy for that matter) and you really can't take anyone seriously.
Mr. Moore has a talent for tongue in cheek and fast pace writing.

Reminiscent of Fun with Dick and Jane, this is a book about married love and bank robbery. Oh, and casino robbery. This follows both the criminal couple, Zinio and Delaney, as well as the police and FBI who are hunting for the couple who have just become America's Most Wanted. Hell, this would make a brilliant movie or TV series.
There's plenty of humour along the way, particularly when the cast includes elderly couples, dodgy investigators and a strange scene with shark sushi. While Delaney and Zinio are hardly slick, professional criminals, they manage to pull off crimes that no one else could - using some very unusual tactics.
I don't want to spoil the ending, I must admit it's one I didn't see coming. Bring on the movie!

This novel is so chock-full of fast-paced scenes that at times can be confusing to keep up with, and an odd cast of characters that have banded together to pull off the craziest heist scenarios, led by a crafty husband and wife team. Moore is very detailed in his descriptions of the crimes and subsequent getaways. There are surprising reasons for what motivates Zinio and Delaney, although I would have liked to have known more about their relationship and their backstory. Same with some of the secondary characters; I struggled to keep them all straight and I didn’t feel like I knew enough about them to be invested in their actions. Nonetheless, "Love on the Run" is a quick, action-packed read.

Amazing! Breath taking! A very dynamic and exciting book!
From the first phrase on I was caught in the story. The dialogs are very dynamic. There is always something new happening and breath taking. So no time for expectations. Dean C. Moore's dialogs are so rich that you could swear the caracters exist. I even felt like I was in the room watching the caracters live their lives.
The author wrote many many books or should I say, many incredible stories which I think are a must-have to carry with in the bag and read at every free moment!

This is a fun ride, full of satire and wit. The police and the FBI appear bumbling and silly as they chase down a husband and wife team, Zinio and Delaney, who rob banks. Kelly and Carter are desperate to locate the couple, but are never fast or smart enough. Delaney shows signs of illness that helps to create empathy for her character. You find yourself cheering for the bad guys as they lead the police on wild chases, worthy of James Bond. They are able to free themselves from one close call after another, even after the police take out their helicopter. Despite their little arguments, it is evident that the daredevil couple love each other.

Zinio and his wife Delaney make a bank robber team that gives the money to needy after robbing bank. Their style of robbing banks is unique, they quickly mold the circumstances at any location to their advantage and with assistance from anybody who comes in their contact, they execute their plans for robbery and getaway form the scene. State police gets after them and gives them a chase with full force in cars, helicopters and even military tanks but Zinio's innovative ideas of escaping make this book fully action packed and keeps you turning the pages.

The couple on the run are a latter day Bonnie and Clyde with Robin Hood tendencies. The cast of characters is diverse and entertaining and the action is non-stop as the heroes/villains race around committing crimes and evading the law who are always just one step behind them. This would make a good film and, indeed, the book reads like a film script. The ending suggests to me that there might be a sequel. If you like your action fast paced this is the book for you.

Moore has done it again. This is another lively and action-packed book. Not a moment of boredom. These are robbers with a conscience. The money goes towards other people who need the money for health bills etc. As any good heist story they are always a few steps ahead of the law with a few close calls and a few twists and turns throughout that keeps it intriguing.

I was given this book as a gift. I really enjoyed this fast paced, action adventure with a great cast of characters. The book really moves along and as it does we get to meet a number of people in the book that I fell in love with. As always, the dialogue is funny with a lot of great lines. Prepare yourself to be surprised with every twist and turn of this book.

If you want an action packed read with fully developed and interesting characters that only a master like Dean C Moore can create, this book is for you. It has the right things going for a bank heist book. The married couple will remind you of Bonnie and Clyde, but they definetly have their own thing going on.

This is a great book that I would definitely recommend! It is so realistic and exciting and incredibly funny. The characters practically jump off the page and are terribly and wonderfully dynamic. Moore is a great storyteller! I can't wait to read more from him.

Non-stop adventure with husband and wife bank robbers, lots of snappy patter, even when they're facing impossible odds, plot twists, time travel, even a love story - What's not to like? This book is a treat. The only odd part is the cover photo.

A Modern Bonnie and Clyde - Smart, Dark and Funny
Love on the Run is a fast paced roller coaster ride. This book has enough action, narrow escapes, unforgettable crazy characters and witty banter to make your head spin. A very entertaining read. Highly recommend. A+
