A fearless unicorn. An enchanted shell. Can Fiona find her song before it’s washed out to sea?

When Fiona, a unicorn with the gift of music, is tasked with the safekeeping of a magical shell, it comes with a big risk. If she fails to protect it, not only will the island be in peril but she will also lose her song.

Not long after, the mischievous pixies create trouble. Fiona tries to settle the situation but in doing so, her shell goes missing. With the help of Fairy Princess Heartsong, Fiona travels to Dragon Sea to locate her missing shell. But all the shells on the beach look the same. If Fiona doesn’t find her shell before nightfall the secrets of the island will be endangered and the song of her heart will be lost forever.

Amie Borst still believes in unicorns, uses glitter whenever possible and accessorizes in pink. She enjoys eating chocolate while writing and keeps a well-stocked stash hidden away from her family. A native New Yorker she currently resides in Northern Virginia with her husband, three children and a cute dog named Lily. She wishes she had a hot-pink elevator with carnival lights to travel the world. But for now, her minivan will have to do.

This was a sweet children's book that follows Fiona, a musically talented Unicorn, as she is entrusted with a magical shell. However, when the shell is lost/stolen, Fiona has to try her level best to find it or she loses her musical ability. It was a beautiful story with a good message for children.

This is an enjoyable chapter book for young readers, especially those who like fantasy. (It's hard to go wrong with unicorns and fairies and pixies and such!) And since it's the 6th book in the still-growing series, there are plenty of connected books to enjoy, as well.
