What good is power if you can’t control it? The daughter of two legendary air witches, I'm supposed to be the best of my generation. In theory, I should be able to bend the wind to my will. In practice, I’m more likely to accidentally trigger a hurricane. To prove myself, I have to capture the North Wind—the most volatile force on earth. As far as quests go, I expect it to suck.

What I don’t expect is to meet my fated mate in the form of a smooth-talking Scottish Highlander. Callum McLeish is half-dragon and half-incubus. He’s also drop-dead gorgeous and determined to follow me to the frozen wastes. It’s cold in the North, but my new protector sets my nights ablaze.

Things take a scorching turn when we arrive in the wastes and meet Graeme Abernathy. As a member of the Brotherhood of Ice Dragons, Graeme took vows to live a solitary life. His heart is frozen, and his attitude is as chilly as his castle.

But dragons mate in threes. And the more time Callum and I spend around Graeme, the harder it is to deny the pull between us. Graeme isn’t supposed to feel anything. So why does he feel so perfect to Callum and me?

Still, there’s something unsettling in the air. As things heat up between the three of us, danger does as well. Because Graeme has secrets—and a past that refuses to die. As the temperature plunges, the stakes couldn’t be higher. If I don’t unravel the mystery that swirls around Graeme, I could lose both of my men forever.

Icy hot!

Picking up where Kiss of the Dragon King left off. We meet Georgina (aka Georgie) as she’s presenting herself to the King, the Consort, and their Queen. She has an important mission; as the heir apparent to rule her clan of witches she must first prove her worth on an epic quest to tame the North Wind. But first she must get permission from Cormac & Niall. While at their court she meets Callum and their mate bond ignites.

I liked the dynamic of a single dragon finding his female mate first. In all three prior books the woman enters into an established relationship between the two male dragons. Watching Callum woo Georgie was a treat, enhanced by his half-incubus abilities to know her deepest sexual fantasies.

But it’s when they travel to the frozen north and encounter Graeme, an ice dragon with a frozen heart and a tragic backstory, that things really heat up.

As with the prior installments, the story plays second fiddle to the spice. I would’ve appreciated a little more time with the characters, to allow their relationships to blossom. But the trope of fated mates pushes them together quickly and often. The heat these three generate was scorching and I’m shocked the ice palace could withstand the fire of their passion.

Finding Her Fated Mates . . .

Georgie is a witch who is on a quest to prove herself powerful and capable by taming the North Wind. She comes upon Callum McLeish, a sweet mix of dragon and incubus, who happens to be her fated mate! They continue the quest and find ice dragon Graeme Abernathy. As an ice dragon, his heart is frozen. Yet Georgie and Callum know that he is the missing part of their triad mate bond. Graeme also has secrets which could put them in danger. Will they discover what they need to know? Will they complete Georgie’s quest? Will the three finally find their HEA together? Or will Georgie lose them both?

I’m a fan of the dynamics between the MMCs and the FMC, there’s plenty of banter and a slight slow burn to the group of them coming together, and it’s nice to see how things play out. A witch is on her quest, and also finds love not once but twice, and she doesn’t let it stop her from finishing it out. Sticks to the plot, but the smut is there.

I did not really enjoy this book much and I felt that it struggled to understand the characters and the direction of the story throughout the entire book. I felt that there was not much of a plot until the end but then at the end the build up and conflict was confusing and very quick. Especially after the third book I was hoping for more of a cohesive feel to the series and the characters

I have enjoyed this series much more than I thought I would. Slightly predictable things with the books, but I hav enjoyed each and every one so far.

This was a heartwarming one dealing with loss, grief as well as healing and love found again. Graeme so desperately needed this HEA, I'm glad they all found each other. My only lamentation is that book 5 isn't out yet. Well played, Ms. Pennza.

Kiss of Frost is the fourth book of the Dragon Laird series and although you could probably read this one as a stand-alone, it is totally worth it to read the first 3 books to get some context of the back story.

I have loved all the dragons in this series, but I absolutely adore Callum. He is a playful, irreverent charmer and more than one of his retorts had me snort laughing. He is also a truth teller and no matter how dirty he has to talk he lets Georgie and Graeme know the truth of things.

I really like Georgie too. I love that she embraces the truth of her gift and never waivers in that acceptance. Ultimately, it is her trust in her gift that will lead to uncovering deceptions that have existed for years.

The chemistry between Georgie and Callum is off the charts from the very beginning and when Graeme joins the mix the heat is blistering. This is a MM/MFM story and the scenes are explicit but well written. And there is never any doubt of the deep caring that the Throuple have for each other once the bond is accepted by all of them.

At the beginning of the story we see that there are still many unmated dragons in King Cormac’s castle. I can’t wait to see what awaits these dragons as the series continues.

I just didn’t enjoy this book as much as the others and it had to do with the lack of balance in the relationship. One of the things I enjoy about ménage romances is seeing how the characters interact as a unit as well as one on one.
I felt like Georgie got pushed aside in her own relationships. Like every time she said she wasn’t jealous all I could think was “alright, then I’ll feel jealous for you”. That feeling had everything to do with the majority of the relationship development happened between Graeme and Callum. Like as soon as Callum and Graeme became intimate the relationship development between Georgie and Graeme was practically non-existent. Even in Graeme’s perspective he didn’t think of Georgie nearly as much as he thought about Callum. Anytime he did it felt tacked on like the author has also
forgotten about Georgie.
I would have liked to have seen scenes with just Georgia and Graeme getting to intimate without Callum, like in the other books. Or even just getting to know each other. There were signs that they had things in common but it just wasn’t explored from either of their POVs. Overall, the relationship just didn’t feel as strong as the previous ones.

I need to say that I was so excited for this story as soon as the author gave sneak peeks in her newsletter for this couple. It felt like this could be a bit of a different, even more intriguing journey than the other Dragon Lairds books.
A witch as the main girl and she’s on a journey to prove herself the leader of her own coven? A ice dragon with a frozen heart? Sign me up excited!
(Or however the saying goes 😬)

Unfortunately, this didn‘t live up to my own hype (bc I generally don‘t even read trendy books that people hype up so I make my own hype lol). The beginning was already very different than what the other pairings did and I already liked the twist. I loved the pages as soon as they were on the road (more like hiking through deep snow) and exciting and scary things were happening.
The trio fit well together and I really liked the twists that were happening throughout. It’s a fast paced book that you can get through fairly quickly which I love!

What I really didn‘t like was that the focus turned very quickly on their relationship rather than their quests and in the end it felt like the action was rushed so that it could all wrap up quickly. I‘m disappointed that we didn‘t got to see more of Georgie’s struggles and how she really uses her power. I was excited that we finally have a FMC that needs to fight for her power and needs to do a quest instead of being this weak female that is scared and needs saving.
But like, where was this fighting for power and to prove herself the leader of her own house? Maybe I blinked too long or something 🥸.
In the end pages, she literally was like:
Ok, time to accept I’m not my parents and not perfect and move on cause love defys everything.

🫡👍🏻

Callum was really my favorite in this one. His confidence was through the roof and as Georgie always admired, he would always outright speak the truth and didn‘t mask anything but never be cruel. He made this whole book so so fun.
I also liked seeing the age gaps in this one not only between the FMC and the MMCs but also one of the MMCs being young. It made for this good dynamic between these three that was very enjoyable to read about.

Still, the first book was still the worst one in this series and as long as it stands this way, I’m gonna make my way through more!

"Kiss of Frost" by Amy Pennza is another fantastic addition to The Dragon Lairds Series that kept me hooked from start to finish. This installment brought some refreshing twists to the series, making it feel new and exciting. The steam level was amped up, and the story avoided the repetitiveness that can sometimes come with a long series.

The characters, Callum, Georgie, and Grahme, were exceptionally well-written and their dynamic was captivating. Their journey was both steamy and emotional, providing a perfect balance of romance and depth. I appreciated the different start to their relationship, which made their story stand out among the others in the series.

The emotional depth in this book was palpable, making it not just a steamy read but also a heartfelt one. The ending was satisfying and well-executed, leaving me eagerly anticipating the next and final book in the series, though I'm sad to see it come to an end.

Overall, "Kiss of Frost" is a must-read for fans of the series and anyone who enjoys a well-crafted, steamy, and emotional romance. Amy Pennza continues to deliver with this captivating story.

** I don’t know if I missed it or not but I can’t remember them actually completing the mating bond in this one.

I shouldn’t be surprised, Pennza won me over with her “Bound and Bitten” trilogy, but this novel did indeed surprise me. It can be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading at least the previous book in this series. Nothing is more sexy than Highlanders who are dragon shifters, and if you like MMF then this story will certainly win you over. It’s not just steamy sex haphazardly strewn about. No, this fated mates book has a terrific plot. Our 3 MC’s: Georgie, a witch on a quest to speak to the Oracle about the North Wind; Callum, a dragon shifter and incubus with a wicked sense of humor; Graeme, a heartless ice dragon bound to the Brotherhood and protector of the Oracle. Read how as soon as Callum meets Georgie, he recognizes his fated female, and both embark on her quest, but once they reach their destination…their fated male mate Graeme obstructs them…in more ways than one. Read this fascinating tale of shifters, witches, Fae, etc. and how the ancient Graeme lost his fated mate year ago. It really is a fascinating and enjoyable read.

When ice meets fire and wind.

I love this series and the intense heat and acceptance in each grouping.

Plus this one was unique from the others because the guys did not have an established relationship before the female joined them. Plus the dragons were each halflings. Which lent them each unique powers that played into the story.

This one was packed with feels when it came to poor Graeme and the situation leading to him becoming an ice dragon. Plus his release at the end had a tear in my eye.

The pop culture references between Callum and Georgie was funny and their banter had me giggling.

A mfm paranormal fantasy romance set in modern times but this story is on a different plane in a frozen world. A story with deep emotions, healing, betrayals, witty banter and high high heat.

Multiple povs told in first person

Characters -
Georgina Blackwood of House Blackwood - aka Georgie, witch with wind powers
Callum McLeish - half green dragon shifter/ half incubus demon
Graeme Abernathy - half ice dragon/half unseelie fae

Steam - high heat, with mmf, mf, mm

Triggers - loss of former mate, anxiety

I am back and forth on this book. If I keep consistent with how I rate books then it’s a three. Georgie is a witch on a quest to do the impossible. She has large shoes to fill with both her parents being elite witches, however Georgie feels she can never measure up.

She presents her case to the dragons to help her on this quest and she finds one of her mates, Callum. Callum is half incubus and half dragon and he can read your deepest desires. These two get hot and heavy instantly because you know mate thing…

While on the quest they of course find their missing third in Graeme an ice dragon. Graeme is still carrying a torch for his old mate that was killed and feels like he’s betraying him if he gives into the mate bond that is forming between him, Georgie and Callum.

Warning there is male on male action so if that’s not your thing be prepared. I would have liked a bit more story to balance the almost non-stop horizontal action, not to say that it wasn’t steamy just would have liked a more balanced meal.

I received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review.

“You came here looking for your fate, Georgina Blackwood. It appears fate found you first.”

I have loved this series from the start and always excited for more. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved Callum, Georgie, and Graeme. The chemistry between them is scorching, and Amy Pennza knows how to write the best and hottest intimate scenes. The story is a little different in that the two males weren't originally together and didn't know each other at first. It's Georgie's journey that finds one (or rather he finds her), and then they find the other. And I didn't mind that at all.

I loved the set up at the beginning of Georgie meeting Niall, Cormac, and Isolde- the triad from the previous book, Kiss of A Dragon King. I loved seeing them, before Georgie is deliciously swept away by Callum. And I was so hooked. I loved the thawing of Graeme's walls. The heat between him and Callum, and the way he and Georgie made him feel again. Another fantastic addition to this series! 5 stars.

Love is a powerful thing and you can’t escape fate .

Amy just has a way with words! Especially sexy smutty words ! I love this series so much and each book gets better and better. Callum is a sweetheart that is always optimistic and knows just what his mates need. Georgie is strong and determined but realizes how much she has craved love when she finally gets it unconditionally . Graeme’s heart is frozen from his tragic past but quickly thaws to show a good man who fate gives a second chance to. I loved how this book was slightly different then the others in the fact that instead of the two male dragons being together looking for their female like the other books it was one dragon finding his female mate then immediately finding his other mate as well .The love scenes are always amazing in Amy’s books and you really feel the desire that all of the characters have for eachother. I can’t wait for the next book !

GEORGIE is a witch on a quest given to her by the elders. If she wants to lead her house she needs to control the North Wind. She feels as if they gave her this quest so she could fail. She goes to the King of the Dragons and there as she is asking for their help she meets CALLUM, a dragon/incubus. He recognizes her as his. They leave for the North where they meet GRAEME. He took a vow and froze his heart. But upon seeing Georgie he starts to feel. He is fighting that compulsion which he thinks is the witch trying to do magic on him. Now Georgie and Callum need to convince Graeme to let them pass through to the North Wind. To make matters more complicated, the two of them realize that Graeme is their mate also. Oh goodie! Can life get any more complicated???
Fantastic story but it will make you feel cold and shivery as you read the description of the North. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!.

"When I want someone, I get them."

I adore this series, have since the beginning, and I was so happy Amy had another book for us because we can never have enough Dragon's.

Just like all the other books there are two steaming dragons and their female mate. But this time, instead of two mated Dragon who have been together a long time finally finding their female, Callum, one of the dragons and female witch Georgie find each other first and then later their third, Graeme, joins them. Also, in a different spin, Graeme had a prior mate who died and he isn't really looking for anyone new.

I loved all three of them, especially Callum. He almost stole my heart from Fergus, my favorite of all the dragons, from book two. I was on the edge of my seat wanting these three to find their hea together. It's OK if you haven't read the prior books although there are some mentions and appearances of different characters and to be honest, reading all the books in order is just a lot more fun.

Kiss of Frost

Another great threesome. One of the guys is half Incubus (so like, half sex demon). He's not the best fighter but he's pure of heart, and I can't imagine how great it would be to have someone in charge of the bedroom.

“I’m an incubus, Georgie mine. I don’t go anywhere without lube.”

And this,

“A sigh rose in my chest as I resigned myself to being in love and easily manipulated for the rest of my days. If I was this easy over a couple of smiles, there was no hope for me.”

He's so adorable. The other guy is over a thousand years old and has heartbreak. He actually cries a fair amount but is a total badass. And the MFC is an unconventional witch,

“But now I knew my magic didn’t work that way. It didn’t bludgeon. It didn’t force. I didn’t bend the wind to my will. I worked with it. And sometimes, I dropped it. But that was okay. I just picked it back up again.”

They are super sweet together.

A great addition to the universe!

We get to see many previous characters, but only for a moment before we are introduced to a whole new set of MCs with an exciting adventure ahead. The universe gets further expanded as we venture out on the quest of our FMC and the mysteries encountered keep you ensnared. The variance of the universe in time, from the time of the ancients to the 20th century, along with magic certainly keep things interesting and unpredictable.

Along with the quest you’re faced with the growing relationships as they whirl around in uncertainty with so many unprecedented factors. The author makes you care for the sweet and delightful MCs and then makes you worry as they face their challenges, all the while you’re hoping for their HEA. The ending is as always a very quick wrap up of events explaining most of the mysteries followed by an epilogue alluding to the future of our MCs.

I like the universe so I’m sure I’ll be picking up the next one of the series!

This is far from being frosty. When i say it is a hot read, i mean it scorching hot, and the ice doesn't help in any way.

I couldn't put this down. i read it in one sitting it will give you all the feels.

The storyline is fantastic, along with the character and world building throughout.

We have Georgie, the strong independent witch, sent on a quest to prove herself only to find 2 mates on the way.
Callum is sweet, funny, and has a filthy mouth. He's a dragon incubus that can read your deepest fantasies. He's a dragon after my own heart.
Finally, we have Graeme, a dragon who has been so lost to heartbreak for hundreds of years, finds his path to peace.

If you haven't read any of Amy's books, please go read them.
I love this series and all the characters.
So go check the other three out!!
Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

I usually like the quick pace of these books, with that said I didn’t like the dynamics in this one. For one, why was Georgie even included in this book? There was zero intimacy with Graeme one on one like with Callum, there were a few alone scenes with Graeme and Callum and Georgie was just hanging in the background waiting for scraps. Yeah that’s a turn off for me especially within a MMF relationship. I use relationship loosely. Hell Graeme and Georgie didn’t even kiss until after he had sex with her not alone to build something, oh no that was only for the two male leads. Why not just make it a MM book, I love those. This was just kinda disrespectful not only to the female lead but also for the reader as well. I love all types of MM MFM MMF MMFMMM MF or MMFFMM this book just kinda pissed me off.

Woow 😱 what a story yet again!
I really loved how, in this book, one dragon and the woman meet first. Such a refreshing twist compared to the usual two dragons meeting before the woman.

The dynamic between Georgie and Callum was amazing. They’re such a lovely pair, and their first meeting had me laughing so much. Absolutely loved it!

I also enjoyed seeing some of the previous characters return at the beginning. Hopefully we’ll get even more of that in the next book ☺️.

And then there’s Graeme 😩… what a man, with such a heartbreaking story. I truly felt for him and even shed some tears. It was so sad to see him struggle with his grief and how hard it was for him to open up again. Watching him slowly thaw and let others in was such a powerful journey.

And that plot twist 😱 what a ride!
Oh and let’s not forget… the spice was definitely spicing 👀🔥

When Georgie is sent on a mission to harness the North Wind before she can become the leader of her Covenstead, she never expected to find one of her mates, Callum. Knowing that they have to get past the guardian of the White Gate, they discover more than they could imagine. With her father's last words warning her that a dark wind is coming, it will take all that she has together with the strength of her mates to defeat the silent evil that has surrounded the White Gate. This hot and steamy read has everything you need to keep you on the edge of your seat. With plenty of action and drama you won't be able to put it down as you are captivated by this story.

OMG So Hot!!

This book was sooo amazing! I loved it from beginning to end! Georgie, who is a witch and heir of House Blackwood, goes to the King of the dragons for permission to go to the Oracle of the North Wind. Before she can leave though, she is claimed by one of the dragons – Callum.

Callum goes with her on her quest, but they are taken by Graeme who is now an ice dragon. Over time, his heart starts to thaw, and he develops feelings for them both.

But when they go to see the Oracle, things don’t go quite as planned.

This book was 100% hot, and I loved every second of it! Looking forward to more books in this series!

This series is so fun and easy to read. The Dragon Lairds are short, but Pennza's writing has the potential to be much longer length books. I love the worldbuilding throughout these books, how they build off each other and also add to it as you go. I would recommend reading these in order, as they are some what interconnected and you will get spoilers for other books in this one.

Kiss of Frost had a bit more adventure involved than the previous ones. Our FMC sets out with her new dragon mate on a magical quest...only to be waylaid by a frost dragon. Overall, I think these are good vibes - the romance is sweet and they are very spicy. They're good palette cleansers, easy to get into, and fast reads.

This was so good. I almost neglected work to finish reading it. Our witch shows up in Scotland to get permission to approach the North Wind. Within minutes she is confronted with her dragon mate. The pull between them is to strong to ignore. Then they set off for the north. They meet the frozen dragon warrior who guards the north wind. They know this dragon with the frozen heart is their mate. They have to unfreeze him, combat evil, free the North Wind and make this dragon theirs. So hot of a read and amazing twist for more drama. Great read.

So far, this series has only improved with each instalment. This story had improved character development, a little more plot, and the relationship dynamics between the MCs was much more intriguing, than the previous books in the series.

The spice was dialled back just a bit from the other books in the series as well, and I actually feel that improved the story. I do feel that Pennza has a great grasp on writing spice, even though her books contain a lot of spice, the spice is always good and has a fresh angle so it doesn’t feel repetitive and boring.

Overall a fun read with lots of spice and some cute and endearing banter.
