The three short stories in "Moonstruck: Foibles, Fails, & Fresh Starts," were created independent of one another. The first story reveals the character of a man who, despite his love of order and perfection, is as fallible as love itself. This story was inspired by Ernest Hemingway's "Hills Like White Elephants." The second story reveals a love that fails to take root in both parties. Unrequited love can be a bitter teacher, but teach it does. The final story deals with a protagonist's humorous approach to life in light of her current malady. That malady was borne out of a relationship gone wrong, but just might be healed the same way.
I grew up in New England (Ayer, Massachusetts) before returning to Germany to graduate high school. Afterwards, I managed to find myself in Savannah, Georgia where I attended college and obtained two bachelor's, one in Political Science and another in Nursing. (You may notice that I love reading military/espionage and medical thrillers, is it any wonder?)
I had always wanted to be a writer (like most young people). I began my writing career as a member of a writers' group in 2006, now named the Cafe Crashers, on a dare to compete in NaNoWriMo. I can honestly say that I am blessed to be doing something I truly love (with people I truly love) and am growing and learning every day.
To be honest, I was inspired by Hugh Howey to self-publish our group anthology - so glad we did. Everyone has a story.
