THE DEFENDERS

Rate this book
Jimmy Dawson, wrongly convicted of a crime he did not commit, has just been released from the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth Kansas. His early release was facilitated by Mark Ferguson, a retired Air Force Colonel. But Colonel Ferguson wants something in return. Being a convicted military felon with a dishonorable discharge, Jimmy’s options are limited, so he decides to take Colonel Ferguson up on his offer and join The Defenders.

In the shadows of the Las Vegas strip, The Defenders is a clandestine group that operates on the fringes of the law. They do the dirty work the police are unable or unwilling to do. Supported by Alan Saliba, a disgraced ex-CIA field operative, and Clarence Jones, his former cell mate in Leavenworth, Jimmy travels the western United States to protect the innocent from the evil that hides in plain sight.

3 🌟 for me. An interesting first novel, written by an ex-colleague, with a unique cast of characters. Fairly short, with some unfinished business at the end of book one. I noticed a few typos, which were a little disappointing.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up a self-published book with a strong military undertone, bit I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book.

I know it's not a LONG book per se, but these days anything I can get my brain to focus on is a winner.

My apologies for this short, probably poorly spelled review. Hopefully when I get my computer back from the shop I can do a better job.

I'll give it 4.5.

Met this author at my local bookstore signing copies. Ask him a little about the book and it intrigued me. Very easy read and enjoyed the plot. Left on a cliffhanger so really looking forward to the next book in the series. Enjoyed the read!!
