This was such a perfect pairing! Yes, I absolutely adored Luther (WE NEED MORE OLDER MEN IN BOOKS!) but I also loved Kendra’s character. Her sweet girl exterior disguised her bratty tendencies that pushed Luther to his limits. Her curvy girl confidence and vulnerability were so well written!

Favorite micro trope: he pushed on her stomach while inside her iykyk ✨

There’s just something addicting with SJ Tilly’s writing because I straight up inhaled the book! Fast POV switches that make for dynamic & immersive reading coupled with witty humour. This was a perfect blend of cozy mountain lodge sex & vulnerable moments.

4.5 DADDY STARS!

I enjoyed this one more than the previous book in this series, it just had that special touch of more…more feels, more swoons, more giggles, I even shed a tear or two. These two were perfection.

I loved the setting, the characters, buddy the cute fox. The interrupted sexy times. Even the sneaking around they did. I even loved her father.

I’m even excited for the next book in this series because once that ranger popped up in here I needed his book..

I enjoyed, liked and loved Mountain Boss. But Mountain Daddy? This second book blows the first one right out of the water! My lord this book consumed me right from the first few pages until the last. I was hooked and I read it nearly in one sitting. I had a small half hour break to eat and stuff. But this book kept screaming: Keep reading! And I listened. ♥

The book starts with Kendra having a phone call with her father. While he calls she gets served an eviction notice. She paid her half of the rent in cash to her roommate Lizzy. But she kept it all for herself and didn't pay any rent for the past few months. Her father instantly suggests that she moves home and offers her a job at his company. Kendra is 32 and reluctantly agrees. 

Kendra decides to have one last night of freedom before she moves in and books a hotel room about twenty minutes away from her father. She goes to the bar next door and the second she enters, sparks ignite and fly between her and a sexy silver fox. And when I say that they ignited, they sure as hell did. I felt it course through my own soul and bones. 

Luther devours the sexy, curvy girl who enters. And they instantly flirt, touch, look and push each other's buttons. And when they end up in her hotel room they feed into their daddy kink and completely consume each other. Kendra told him she was just passing through, so they both assume that this is it and move on.

But low and behold they see each other the next day again. Luther goes to his best friend Joe to welcome his daughter to town. And when sees Kendra leaving the bathroom in the same sexy pajamas he saw the night before, anger courses through him. 'Did you sleep with Joe?' he hisses. 'Hell no, he is my dad!' she answers. Relief floods through him. But their eyes also widen and they think oh f*ck no. 

And that ladies and gents is what kickstarts this hot and all consuming story. They immediately know that they cannot keep their hands off each other. And I loved how they tried to keep their feelings hidden for everybody, and especially for Joe. But love and lust runs fierce through them and I loved all the secret touches and kisses and stolen moments.

I love how she pushes her Daddy's buttons. Their shared daddy kink was so damn hot. And I love how he seamlessly gravitates to the woman he loves. And did I mention how hot they are together? THIS hot:

She lets out a soft whine as she pulses around me. As she comes on my c**k. I close my eyes. I throw my head back. And I explode. 
My c**k pulses over and over, as I empty my b*lls inside my best friend's daughter.

This book also contains a lot of joy and I laughed out loud several times throughout this book. They get c**kblocked left, right and centre and I had to giggle so much. Of course there is also a bit of drama, but the passion, laughter and happiness is at the centre of this book.

So far this is my favorite book that S.J. Tilly ever wrote! 5 huge stars from me for the ultimate mountain daddy and his baby. 

The only thing I want to mention is that a lot of chapters are super, super short. I think I would have preferred longer chapters. The short chapters didn't break the flow. But I think longer chapters would have made it even more flammable.

We meet Kendra on one of her worst days. She is being kicked out of her apartment after finding out her roommate never paid the rent for her and just took her cash and did whatever with it. Stuck between a rock and hard place she reaches out to her father, and he invites her to stay with him and work for him.

The day before she arrives at his house, she stays at this inn and meets a silver fox by the name of Luther. It does not take long to get things started with these two, they connect instantly and flirt. He ends up coming to her hotel room and spends the night.

Imagine her surprise not long after that night that she finds out Luther is nicknamed Rocky her father’s best friend.

He was not aware of her either in the sense that he only knew her as Kenny and she never came to the town her dad lived in since he visited her only. She also never lived with her dad as she stayed with her mom.

Now this book has Daddy kink, he gets off on it and she gets off on it as well. It's all consensually hot. They decide secretly to see each other and try to spend as much time they can but every time, they are alone, her dad shows up.

It felt like they were teenagers trying to sneak past their parents to be together.

However, Luther, being older and afraid that he is holding back any future Kendra might have broken things off.

He does not want to have any more children as he already has a grown daughter (who happens to be 6 years younger than Kendra). He does not want to force her to choose between being with him and having her dream life and he also uses her father as an excuse. His reasoning for not wanting more kids is revealed in a bit.

Kendra on the other hand has gone through a horrible event back when she was in her early twenties that nobody knows about. Not even her parents. She has a tumor removed and her ovaries as well, she is now cancer free, but she cannot have children and has realized along the way that she would never have wanted them, so she's pissed about Luther's reasons.

They spend a few weeks separated but are forced to hang out since her dad is oblivious and one night she reveals to both of them about her cancer and subsequent surgery. This prompts Luther to see that he jumped the gun and should have spoken to her, they spend the night together just sleeping but he lets her know he will make up for his mistakes and win her back.

He also reveals that his ex-wife whom he married after she became pregnant cheated on him and that's why they broke up. She is not part of her daughter’s life and never shows up. He also confesses to Kendra that his daughter is not biologically his either as he finds out when she was younger, he could never have children. Luther never loved her and just married her out of obligation.

I should also mention his daughter finds out really quickly about Kendra and she is totally fine with it and wishes him nothing but happiness.

Her dad does not find out until the very end of the book about them, and his reaction was minimal lol he was like OH OKAY, well I love you both so sure love each other. Also, he has been sneaking off throughout the book and I knew KNEW that he was seeing Jessi (Luther's sister) and that's revealed too.

Luther proposes to Kendra, and they have a small wedding later.

We also meet the third book MMC aka The Grump.

Enjoyed the story and enjoyed their journey. They had amazing chemistry, and their sex scenes were hot. I am not usually into Daddy Kink books, but this was done differently for me, so it worked.

Oh Mountain Daddy! We could all use a bit of you in our lives.

SJ Tilly delivers again, exactly what she promises she will. A broody, sexy, silver fox, who isn't afraid of a little kinky romp with a younger woman. Only to discover it's his best friend's daughter. One he's heard so much about but didn't realize she was coming through his Inn. Things get complicated real fast.

This book really had all the vibes and coziness that you are expecting. Men in flannel and cute little foxes, it was a delight in that regard. There was also so much talk of baked goods and pancakes that I found myself having a cupcake while reading. Haha!

The only thing that held this one back for me was the 3rd act. Now I know, people often complain about that. I'm not even talking about miscommunication. In this novel, it did seem like a scenario that could happen and they DO have a pretty big age gap, so it seemed legit. No, for me, the issue was the "secret" of it all. Like.... why were we doing that? She's a grown-ass woman, by a long mile, and her dad is a pretty understanding guy. I was rolling my eyes and it made these two mature adults seem like teenagers and it wasn't necessary.

Overall, this was just what I expected and I enjoyed it more than not. As always, I think that an audio is the way to go for a book by SJ Tilly and this one was narrated in Duet Style by Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor.

P.S. It was also still waaayyy too long. haha! I had to say it. 500 pages was not needed.

Oh Daddy!! I love me a good age gap/daddy kink book. Hehe and Kendra has had a life and it’s been good and bad. She meets Luther at a bar when she’s moving back home to her father’s house. And the 2 hit it off so well they are already hooking up in the hotel room. Once they had their one night the 2 have been thinking about each other. And a surprise when Luther sees Kendra at his best friends house things start to click.

I love that they didn’t wait to long to try to get with one another even if they kept it hush hush form everyone aka the dad. So we have hidden dates, hidden sexy times and trying to get away with “dating” I don’t wanna give to much away because you all need to read there love story. I did cry a bit when Luther started acting like a big douche thinking he knew everything which he didn’t and it broke there hearts for a moment.

Don’t worry there is a cute fox who helps mend Kendra heart during that tough time.
I can’t wait for the next book.

I liked Joe, the h’s dad, way more than I liked either of the MCs. The H pissed me of a looooot.
The third act break up was literally just there for the sake of having a third act breakup. It served no purpose except to make the h cry.
Also, I might be in the minority here, but I HATE HATE HATE the short ass chapters!!!! It drives me insane, it feels like I’m reading a wattpad story.

Mountain Daddy is an age gap (24 years), forbidden, dad’s best friend, one night stand (to more)! This one is such a fun premise and grabs your attention right away.

Kendra finds out her roommate skipped out on her (with all the rent money she gave her too) when the landlord shows up to say she is being evicted for not paying the rent for months and has to be out by the end of the month (aka in 10 days). She happens to be on the phone with her dad when it happens so he says she can come live and work with him for a bit! With one last night of “freedom” before living with her dad, Kendra hooks up with Luther at an inn/restaurant she stops at on the way, not knowing Luther owns the restaurant. They share a hot night and she goes her own way not expecting to see him again…but see him again she does! Cause he’s her dad’s best friend!

This started off so fun! I was loving it. I had read the previous book in this series but this one was going so much better. My only issue was the length of this read, I feel like for what it delivers on I was already satisfied with the couple/their story and was surprised the book still had a lot more chapters to go. Speaking of chapters, there are 159 plus an epilogue in here, supppper bite size tiny chapters. Anyways, I received an audio ALC and the audiobook was so good, a duet narration by Connor Crais and Erin Mallon!

I love when a book starts off with a bang…literally hehe

This is a hottttt age gap romance between a woman & her dad’s best friend who meet one night at a bar as she is driving into town to move back in with her dad after a rough patch! Rocky (Luther) is so hot & I loveeeee him and Kendra together!! They gotta be sneaky but the things they do, practically in public, will have you all tingly & drippin 💦

Being back in this small town is so fun! I had the best time listening to this audio & can’t wait for the next book EEEEEEEK!!!

Okay, Daddy is home. Like this book made me like an age gap daddy kink real quick like. It was so good, like you know when you bite into a dessert that you know is going to be decadent as hell but you’re going to savor every bite. Yeah that was this book.

It made me melt from my insides. Kendra and Luther were explosive together and this whole book had me sweating.

I also loved two fully grown adults sneaking around like teenagers and getting interrupted a thousand times. It just made me giggle. I also loved how easily these two connected, like I wasn’t even mad at the third act breakup, although I still yelled at my phone 😂

This book was just a good spicy time with a great cast, really fun side characters and a fox named Buddy, who I adore!

I really liked Mountain Boss, so I had high hopes for the second book in this series. I was disappointed 😒

I absolutely hated the third act break up based on miscommunication. They’re both adults, and the whole conflict could’ve been resolved with a single conversation. Considering the fact that they’re supposed to be in love with each other, it’s a little hard to believe that that conversation couldn’t have happened 😤

Them being in love happened way too damn fast too. I liked how they met, and I liked how it was sort of a one night thing that became something more, but beyond that their relationship was really bland 🫤

And wtf was up with the fox too? Why was he there? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m sorry to say that it seems like enjoying the first book was a bit of a fluke for me. Tilly let me down with this one 😖

I need to start out by saying that Luther aka Papi aka Daddy had me wound tighter than a top. He was the Daddiest Daddy to ever Daddy and I was drooling from the jump.

After discovering her roommate was stealing from her, Kendra lost her job and decided to move to Colorado to live and work for her Dad, Joe.

On the drive to Colorado, she decides to spent the night in a motel, about 20 minutes away from her Dad to get one more bit of freedom.

Lucky for Kendra, the motel has a bar in the parking lot and that’s where she meets Luther. The hottest 50-something she’s ever seen. She figures she’ll never see him again so she propositions him for one night of fun.

A week later, Kendra’s Dad has his best friend come over for breakfast… and in walks Luther.

Kendra and Luther can’t stay away from each other and they find themselves sneaking around.

Kendra and Luther’s love was so real and pure. They cared about each other so deeply and after a few bumps in the road, they made it known to the world.

I devoureddddd Mountain Daddy. There was something about the story that just pulled me in.

SJ Tilly, I think I'm going to read more of your books, because your writing and the themes/tropes you use are sooo my thing. This is my second book by her, the first one was actually the first book in the Mountain Men series, Mountain Boss, and I really loved it too. I love the short chapters, quick paced story, romance, the tropes, the way she writes her characters - I'm 100% on the SJ Tilly train now.

Mountain Daddy is about a 32yo woman who finds out her roommate has not paid the rent in months, so she gets evicted. Her dad offers her to stay with him and she accepts. Before she arrives though, she thinks it's a good idea to have a lil bit of freedom before she lives inside her dad's walls, so she stops at a motel and meet a 56yo man who is all grey, handsome, and very very nice. They have a one-night stand, not realizing that in one week they'll bump into each other once again, at her dad's house. This guy is actually HER DAD'S BEST FRIEND!!!

Love love that Luther is all in from day one. Okay yeah he just found out she's his best friend's daughter - he doesn't care. I mean, he does haha but he still 1000% wants to continue seeing her and being with her. There's not one minute where he questions it. I like that. In dad's best friend romances you get a lot of guilt and secrecy, and while this book does have a portion of that, I feel that they were not sneaking around that well, they really didn't care if they got found out actually.

So this book is very low on the angst in that way. Though that third-act breakup was soooo good y'all. I love when third-act breakups take a while for them to get back together. I don't need them to forgive and forget on the next chapter, that's so not believable for me. Mountain Daddy did it so good. I was crying, suffering alongside them. OH THE ANGST AND PAIN THEY WERE FEELING. Chef kiss!

I started this book last night and ended up sleeping until 3 AM because I couldn't stop reading it. I got to 86% and had to close it down to go to sleep because I had work tomorrow lmao. I finished it today and it was a winner for sure.

This was so good. I really love their relationship so much. I know there was the age gap and the doubt between them about how it would all work, but not for a single second did I doubt their compatibility. They just work.
It was emotional, and sexy, and completely focused on their relationship, so simple in that there wasn’t any subplot to distract from the complications of that.
Plus there was a cute as fuck wild animal friend!

I loved it.
I can’t wait to see whose book is last in this series. And what kind of animals are in it because that tease in the acknowledgments was brutal and will stick with me.

Kendra and Luther are so hot! I love how Luther loves Kendra as she is and isn’t afraid to show her and shower her in affection. Kendra is perfect juat as she is. And the support they get from their families, when they were worried they would be judged was great! Just a fun, spicy read!

Kendra packs up her life and moves to Colorado with her dad, on her first night in town she meets a hot older man in a bar and has the literal best night of her life. A week later when her dad decides to host his best friend for breakfast who walks in the door? None other than the man she has not been able to get off her mind. As both Kendra and Luther realize the connection between the two of them isn’t something thats going to go away and trying to hide this connection proves to be even harder.

I just don’t think theres an SJ Tilly MMC that I won’t fall head over heels in love with at this point. She writes the BEST down bad, hot, grumpy, gruff, age gap, obsessive + possessive dreamboat men that I will literally never tire of reading. I loved the tension and forbidden aspect of Kendra and Luther while also getting to see how fast Luther fell for Kendra and her right on back.

I loved this book! It was such a delightful, sexy read. The story kicks off with Kendra receiving an eviction notice while she is on the phone with her dad. Her dad offers her to stay and work with him, and not knowing what to do, she finally agrees. During her journey, she stops at a motel and meets the charming Luther, a handsome silver fox. They share a fun one-night stand, thinking it’s just a brief encounter. However, when Luther visits his friend, he’s taken aback to discover that Kendra is his best friend's daughter!

I enjoyed how, despite their attempts to fight their attraction, the chemistry between Kendra and Luther is undeniable. Kendra is a confident and bold character who knows what she wants, and she embraces Luther's attention gracefully. Luther is not only attractive and strong but also so sweet toward Kendra. There are moments when he questions if he’s the right man for her, which can be a bit frustrating, but it just shows how much he cares and wants the best for her.

Overall, this was a wonderfully sexy read filled with some spicy scenes! I especially appreciated that Kendra is in her 30s, which is refreshing. Plus, the moments of warmth and family dynamics added a lovely touch. And I can’t forget to mention the cute fox in the story—it made me want one as a pet!

Now let’s get into this review…. Mountain Daddy was a funny romantic tear joker that was written so well! Kendra has a one night stand with a guy in a bar connecting to her motel what she doesn’t expect is to see him the next day in her dad’s house. Oh and Luther is 24 years older than Kendra 😏Kendra & Luther’s story is my favorite dad’s best friend story I’ve read so far. The banter was chefs kiss 💋 Oh baby and the spice 🥵 The spice was a literal panty dropper 😏 I fear SJ unlocked my inner Daddy Kink 🤪

DNF at 12%— this was such a disappointment compared to book 1. The immediate lack of plot and jump into cringey smut was so off putting.
