Making peace with the past...for a chance at a future.
Determined not to let her fear of dogs keep her from making a house call to a pet-owning client, midwife Cora Cross appoints visiting dog trainer Tripp Blackburn as her bodyguard. However, what started as a simple favour quickly ends in disaster when Cora injures herself, so guilt-ridden Tripp decides to extend his stay to help the injured caregiver. Soon a friendship begins to develop, and healing comes to them in ways they didn’t think possible. But when the demands of Tripp’s life back in Colorado pulls him away from Cora, will being stranded together during a snowstorm help him realise what’s truly important?
Mills & Boon Love Inspired — Heartfelt stories that show that faith, forgiveness and hope have the power to lift spirits and change lives.
This story was charming! The storyline captured me immediately and I loved the jokes about Cora’s driving. A super cute read and I hope we get more stories with the supporting characters!
I really enjoyed reading this book! The main theme is making peace with the past. Almost all of the main characters have to overcome a difficult circumstance or memory.
Cora is AMAZING! She's a midwife with some unique eccentricities. Playlists and twizzlers are just a few! Tripp is hunkaliscious! His passion is to connect people with service dogs. As fate would have it, their paths crossed and love seemed a possibility. They both have to release certain expectations to allow their relationship to flourish. I absolutely adore Cora's brothers! They love and protect her.
Fear is difficult to overcome. Cora is terrified of dogs and it is dehabilitating. Tripps patience helps a lot, but Rain (the dog) is the one who makes all the difference. With her special training and unwavering loyalty, she breaks down the barriers that hold Cora captive.
I think it's wonderful that there are people who use their gifts to help others overcome fears and bring back some normalcy to those who are hurting.
Absolutely loved it! Long did a fabulous job of writing a heroine who needed to overcome an incredible fear, and the hero who was gentle yet strong enough to help her.
Great characters, fab back stories, interesting setting. Loved every page. Didn't really want to finish. Hunter or Ryder or Haley better get stories soon!
