Under the green skin and wrapped around brittle bones he was still there. And he had so much to offer to someone, if only they’d take the time to look.
“I’m not human. I can’t kiss you the way a man would.” “I am very aware of that,” Otto replied, almost shy. “I… I don’t mind that.”
“I want to be inside you, my prince,” he said. “Let me.”
“You can hold me back,” Otto murmured. Alwin shook his head. “I am afraid to.” “Why?”
“I fear I won’t be able to let go.”
“You didn’t need saving, my prince,” Otto said. “You were always perfect.”
Otto…”
“You’re stunning,” Otto said, his hands finally stilling in their spot around Alwin’s back, holding him close. “You’re everything I never thought I needed.”
“Yours,” Alwin said, burying his head into Otto’s shoulder as he shook in his arms. He tugged at Otto’s shirt, fastening his lips on Otto’s skin, his body pulling him deeper inside with each wet-sounding thrust.
“My beautiful prince,” Otto said.
Alwin’s head pressed back against the stone as he keened, mouth open wide. His legs clamped around Otto’s hips and he thrust wildly. “Because I can’t stop,” he sobbed. “I can’t…”His hind brain had taken over. The frog part that said: Mate. Breed. Come.
“Don’t stop.” Otto groaned, giving him permission, kissing at his neck as he met his thrusts with powerful ones of his own. “Let me hear you. That croak drives me wild.”
My king,” he said and Alwin placed the crown carefully on the chaise before throwing himself into Otto’s embrace, arms locked over his broad shoulders, knees braced on either side of his barrel chest.
“Everyone else’s king,” Alwin said. “Your prince.”
“I can live with that.” Otto swayed them gently to music only he could hear.
“Good, because you promised me beyond forever.”
“And I keep my promises,” Otto said before pulling back and claiming Alwin’s lips with his own.
The young master and his prince.

➤ Human enough not to be a frog, but frog enough to make everything human about him fade almost to nothing.
➤ Every day was a fight against a body he didn’t want, sometimes in awe of the things he could do, sometimes hating every difference so much he wanted to tear his skin off.
➤ “I will give you a cure for your sister, and in return you will come back and stay with me. We will eat together, sleep together, spend time together. Be inseparable. Your presence for her life,”
➤ Alwin had never made friends with betrayal or lies, the poison of them not to be borne. But here he was, staring at the one who had tried to deceive him, and he could think about nothing except how beautiful he was.
Pathetic.
Unwise.
“Lovely,” Alwin said.
🐸 Farwin is best! the frog said in lieu of a greeting.
“I think you should be able to fit, though it isn’t the most elegant,” Otto said.
“Are you trying to strip me of my dignity, young master? Offering me a barrel instead of a copper tub?” Alwin played along.
“I wouldn’t dare to offend your delicate sensibilities, Your Royal Highness. But this is all this humble one has to offer. I hope it will do.” He bowed deeply.
➤ “I mean you no harm,” he said, and the voice inside Otto whispered that he already knew that. He was coming to see it with every passing moment. “I find that hard to believe,” he said, fighting against it. “Have I given you any reason to believe I would cause you harm?”
..
| “Well it worked out in your favour, didn’t it?” Otto didn’t want to stop bickering. He didn’t want the guilt to work its way to the surface. He was at fault, but blaming the monster was easier than admitting he was behaving like one too.
“You…you saved my sister, Alwin. You helped me try to find the cure for others. You protected my home and me. The least I can do is try and make this bearable for you.”
