Rate this book
Torn between two worlds, Alicia struggles to find a way to walk with her faith, but still dance with sin. When Alicia gets caught in the conflict between her father’s church and the Satin Club owners Bas and Remy, she is the only person willing to act as a mediator. Alicia is intrigued by the high class gentleman’s club and its two sexy proprietors. She tries to stay impartial, but the sensuality of erotic dancing pulls at her, begging her to indulge. Bas and Remy are more than happy to satisfy her curiosities and secret desires. Both offer dark temptations she can’t resist and the provocative dancing and passion awaken something long repressed. For the first time, the preacher’s daughter feels like her own person – yet at her core, she’s still a good girl. As the tension between the warring parties reaches fever pitch, she struggles to find what is right for her.

MIXED FEELINGS

Alicia is the preachers daughter, her father gathers his congregation outside Club Satin, a private gentlemens club. Bas the owner and Remy his operations manager decide it's about time to take action. They offer the preacher to come and look around inside the club, to show him it's not the den of iniquity that he accuses. But it's his daughter Alicia that takes up their offer. Bas and Remy manipulate her into a deal, if she dances once and doesn't enjoy it then they will close Club Satin for a month.

I had mixed feelings about this story, the premise is a good idea, but there were aspects of this story that irked me. Alicia's character being the main one, her constant state of arousal was OTT it's a wonder she could think or do anything else except think about sex, just standing next to Bas or Remy would send her into a highly excited state. Then there was the cliched idea put forward that as the child of a preacher she was either a goody two shoes, or a raving nympho. As to the overall tone of the book it was erotic, but here and there parts were uncomfortable to read.

I had a hard time getting through this one. I felt like the story was to similar to others I have read. When she started to write how the microphone was reminding her of a penis I rolled my eyes. I sort of signed off after that. I tried to get back into the story but found it hard. It is a good errotica story.

If it wasn't for this book being a group BOTM, this would have gone in my DNF stack.

It has a rather "Flashdance" feel to it -- dancer finds self-acceptance and love at a strip club that has a Very Large Stage and an Amazing Sound System and Great Costumes.

Alicia is the preacher's daughter -- her father is the leader of the Sunlight Epiphany church, and they're picketing the Satin Club to protest all the sin at the strip club. Except that secretly, Alicia has fantasies of what dancing at the club must be like. When she's pressured into a deal with Remy and Sebastian, who run the club, her attraction to the two men draws her into a seductive web where Alicia discovers her sexual self, and is forced to question everything she's accepted about the sins of the flesh, etc. To uphold her end of the deal, Alicia starts dancing at the club, and discovers that she loves her new sexy self, all the new kinky stuff she does, and most of all...sex with Remy.

I was not a big fan of Alicia's. She's supposedly a ballet dancer, and so is able to use her classical training to perform a variety of challenging dance routines on the Satin Club's stages, where she finds acceptance and liberation..blah, blah, blah. But...first she's in "the cage" where she's groped by customers, and then she's giving private lap dances to one of the gropers who puts her in nipple clamps and inserts an anal plug! Not exactly the Bolshoi...just sayin'...

But this book absolutely gets the "Strangest Group Sex Scene Ever" award...when Alicia agrees to get waxed (by the transgendered Ricki/y!), only to find out that she will have an audience: Bas, the groper-guys, and Remy...who watch while she's waxed and plucked smooth and clean...I can't imagine anything less erotic or sensual than getting waxed, so this passage just felt very awkward -- removing pubic hair just isn't that sexy! I get that it was supposed to be a (sort of) sensual pain scene, but somehow it just seemed strained and uncomfortable.

Then there's the big reveal about Bas...and WTF was that? It added nothing to Alicia's story, and the way Remy just drops the subject, it apparently doesn't matter -- so why even have it?

There is some lip service (ha! pardon my pun) paid to the book's theme of self-acceptance. And there's also some (very) limited discussion of the eternal question about why is sex demonized by religion and society.

But mostly it's all about Alicia getting her groove on...

I have to say I really enjoyed this book. It was well written with a good plot and a lot of juicy sex scenes with amazing detail.

The main character is a typical church girl with a dancing background and a need to break free into her dark side. She is the preachers daughter and she has a conflict within herself about becoming a stripper and being bad or staying hidden as a church goer.

She makes a deal to work as a dancer for a month to try and stop the protest of the club and when she does she becomes one with herself and finally opens up and enjoys the stage and the POLE!!!
I have to say that Bas really pushes her to do things that she isn't ready for but because she is so new to everything she takes a liking to everything and never says no to what he wants. This relationship is odd because the entire time you can tell he wants her but fights his feelings for her.
Then there's Remy who admits he wants her and is jealous of the men who touch her in the private rooms . Even though they are together you kinda want Bas to join in and make for a happy ending with a 2 guy ,1 girl relationship but after she does her final dance you finally get both guys and have a sexy ménage. Then all of sudden you get thrown a curve ball and you find something out about Bas that makes him a bad guy and a twist in my happy ever after.

I don't want to ruin anything but this book was very good and the description was perfect and was a nice fast read with a happy and that defiantly got the juices flowing ;). I would defiantly recommend this book to other.

This is a wonderful book that explores the world of strip clubs through the eyes of a strong but naive young woman. It includes exhibition (natch!), intense sex, toys, group gropes, and guys who are confident enough to trust their women.

Told in alternating 3rd person, the story is simple and well plotted, and the important characters are well developed (except for one). I would have liked to met more of the dancers, but this is the story of Angel, and it's not overly long (maybe 250pp).

So if you're looking for a sexy contemporary MF(M), this is your book.

This story was certainly HOT but I felt there was more teasing than actual sex. The issue with the father was resolved way too quickly. I didn't like the h. She became a nympho so quickly. Plus, just because she was a dancer she became an amazing stripper which didn't make sense. It seemed as if she desired to be more sexually free all along. The end with Bas was really confusing and should not have happened. I feel like his revelation was forced.

i really enjoyed this book. The only negative thing I have to say about is is the fact that the ending did not live up to my expectations considering how good the rest of the book was. The ending should have been more developed. I thought the ending was too abrupt. The conflict with her father and the club ended too quickly. I would love to have seen Alicia confront her father and tell him the truth about her dancing and Remy.

more erotica that wanted to be a romance, imo
the relationship never developed - more it was "I AM GOING TO FUCK YOU AND THEN WE FUCK AND NOW YOU'RE MINE"

So ... there was that, and a HUGE curveball thrown in where you thought it might be a threesome ish but then the other guy has hello baggage and O_o

Anyway, very sexy, but just too much suspension of disbelief required and lack of flow for me
