She escaped the darkness once. Now she has to walk back into it—but this time, she’s not alone.
Sherese never thought she’d escape the vampires. For too long, she lived in their cold, merciless world, a healer forced to serve her captors. Rescued by the Phoenix pack, she finally has a chance at healing—but peace doesn’t come easy, especially when it means living under the same roof as Hunter, the pack’s cold and watchful enforcer.
He’s difficult to read, impossible to trust—and the one assigned to protect her when she volunteers for the to return to the vampires as a spy.
Going back means risking everything. But this time, she’s not the only one with something to lose. Hunter’s secrets run deep, and when their mission begins to unravel, so does the fragile thread of trust between them.
Betrayals will surface. Loyalties will be tested. And if Sherese and Hunter can’t learn to lean on each other, they’ll lose more than just the battle—they’ll lose their lives.
If you like fated mates, protective males, and strong females, this series is for you. This is a closed-door romance series with sizzling tension and fade-to-black scenes. Each book is a stand-alone and features a different couple but is best enjoyed as part of the series.
Healer’s Redemption by A.J. Manney is the newest book in her Healer’s Series, connected to the Wolves of the Northwoods. It brought the nostalgia of bringing in the whole crew from the Northwoods pack, as well as Maverick and Rose, Wyatt and Sam, and of course Bryce and Ava who got their HEA in the previous book that introduced Hunter and Sherese.
I confess to feeling equal parts excitement and trepidation when reading this book. I was hoping Sherese would be “saved” somehow, and get her HEA, but I was not sure how. The thing I have so appreciated about the Wolves of the Northwoods series was the simple fact that the vampires were the clear enemy, they were evil. I was never a fan of the popular vampire books and movies that paint them in a positive light as it so strongly goes against my beliefs. So I was a little hesitant going into a book where the FMC was a vampire, though it was revealed she had been a healer who was abducted, tortured and turned by the vampires. So while she was a vampire, I had hope that somehow they would find a way to redeem her and bring back her healer side, especially since the vampires are still depicted as completely evil and Sherese detested those aspects that made her what she was.
Then we have Hunter, the quiet enforcer who has been providing her with room and board, who is drawn to her in ways he doesn’t understand and sees past the strong façade she presents to the world to the emotionless victim she keeps buried underneath.
Grab your copy and get lost in their journey filled with high risk rescue missions, undercover work, twists and turns you won’t see coming, and a gut wrenching sacrifice and redeeming love and happily ever after that will leave you gasping.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Thoughts and opinions are my own.
Healer’s Redemption was such an enjoyable read. I finished it in one day.
This story blends fated mates, wolf shifters, and vampires beautifully. The male lead is a unique wolf shifter with an unexpected twist, and the female main character a healer turned vampire has a powerful emotional journey as she learns how to feel and love again. Her devotion to those she loves, especially her best friend Ava, makes her incredibly easy to root for.
The romance is heartfelt, the characters are well developed, and the story kept me hooked from start to finish. A great pick for fans of fated mates and shifter romance.
I absolutely loved this book! Sherese and Hunter have quite the journey, but it is so so beautiful to experience. Both of them grow into who they are and learn to trust each other in a big way.
I am a huge A.J. Manney fan and eagerly grab up anything she writes, but I have a soft spot for her Wolves of the Northwood Series and Healers Series. This is definitely in my top three of those combined books (cause no one made me tear up like Max and Rachael and Wyatt and Sam).
I loved getting to visit all our favorites from both series and hope we get to see them in the future as well.
I loved Sherese's story and how she was a healer but still very different from the other three. It made her story more unique and I also enjoyed seeing the progress made to the overall plot of the series. This book was so interesting that I had to keep turning the page and it was great to see all the other characters from Wolves of the Northwoods. This book also introduced several more interesting plot twists to the story and I can't wait for the next book!
Wow! Honestly some authors by book 4 let alone book 8 due to a spin off at times can get predictable or stale. Have to be honest this was just fantastic! I do believe Sherese and Hunter are my favorite couple in the healers so far. Laughing, lots of holding my breath, tears, over all awesome job! Can’t wait to see the next book!!!
After endless waiting Healer's Redemption is finally here!! A.J. Manney is the only author who is able to perfectly add new books to this series while keeping me insanely captivated. This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. I really loved the enemies-to-lovers between Sherese and Hunter, the way their pure resentment for each other slowly evaporated really got me. Cannot wait for the next one!
This was a fun twist on the wolf vampire dynamic in this series! I ate it up! Read it in a day. A.J. Manney brings strong protective MMCs that love to provide and care for their Mates as well as FMCs that have learned to be strong because of their circumstances and still soft too. 🚫🤬🚫🌶️ there is vampire/blood feeding/biting.
My love for this series started with Sam and Wyatt. Rose and Mav were nice, Ava and Bryce was really heavy, but Sherese and Hunter might be my favorite so far. As intense as book 3 but with less dark detail I really enjoyed this one. Wyatt might still be my favorite wolf but Sharese might be my new favorite fmc in the series.
Once again I really enjoyed this story. I am not a big fan of vampires nowadays but Sherese was a great character. I love all the characters in this series and it is always nice to come back to those who were main characters in previous book. I cannot wait to read next book!
Oh my, did I enjoy this book! It was so good and I am thankful to see more of the previous characters featured in other novels. I really loved seeing Sherese getting her happy ending. It had some very unexpected twists but they made it even better. I will be rereading this one.
Sherese and Hunter’s story had me hooked from the start. I loved seeing Sherese find her sisterhood of healers and a family she truly belongs to. The writing flowed beautifully and made the story so easy to fall into. I really enjoyed every chapter and I’m already excited for Jackson’s story.
shares and Hunters story has been a long time coming. it was funto see if what I suspected was true. Yep it was and that made me so happy. I loves the way their romance unfolded. Delightful story. I cannot wait till the next story comes out. Jackson has been waiting for his mate.
Glad Hunter got his mate and it was Sherese. That was a perfect pairing. Cant wait until book 5 bit hate to see the seies end but maybe we can get a last book to tye up all stoeylines. Hint hint. Get the books and leave your reviews.
The only bad thing about the book is it slips on grammar here and there, which is distracting. But the story line is gripping and the language is clean. I also like that there isn't much detail on love-making.
Loved per usual, it was definitely as action packed as always. Very appropriately named and you have to love the way Sherese may not be the conventional hero but she loves deeply and Hunter really gets to see that. And it was a little satisfying to see them defeat some long standing nemesis too! Can't wait for the next one!
