“What’s going on?” Micah asked gently. “You say you’re an escort and you’re dressed like a wet dream come true. But you are embarrassed when I look at you. And when I offer to hire you, you turn me down flat. Furthermore, you were so frightened of me earlier that you hit me over the head with a frozen leg of lamb and yet now you are here, all curled up and cosy - in my bed I might add - when you could be halfway back to London or the nearest police station.” “I, I,” Bryony stuttered. “It’s complicated.” “So I see,” Micah said.
When Micah accidentally kills a major drug dealer, and Bryony is the only witness, Micah decides the only solution is to keep an eye on her while he makes plans to leave the country. However, when Micah and Bryony start talking to each other, things don't work out quite as either of them expect.
Lost Weekend is a love story with a hint of murder and a heroine who decides she likes it best when she's on top.
The story begins when Micah kills a man. During his hasty retreat, he runs into Bryony and takes her with him to cover his tracks. The two spend a weekend at Micah's cottage where they discover compatriot souls in one another woke dealing with the impending fallout from Micah's actions.
There were some great moments in the story, but it felt slightly disjointed at times. I liked Micah's steady but playful personality and the fact that Bryony is just beginning to find herself. Her life thus far has been driven by circumstances beyond her control. The two bonded quickly, and I get that, but the touchy feely, lovey covey stuff was a bit much. The end really threw me. Several characters were introduced unnecessarily, we were reminded several times of Micah's martial arts prowess, and the contrived turn of events that wrapped up the story felt awkward.
In summation, the first 2/3 were good and reeled me I but the ending wasn't my cuppa. Paring down the incredible amount of information that was introduced in the end could have yielded a similar but much more powerful conclusion.
Ah, Micah and Bryony, such a sweet couple. He's an accountant who has just murdered a man and Bryony has walked in on him, causing him to whisk her away to rainy Wales to hide from a drugs kingpin. And Oh! She didn't even have time to get dressed! In the meantime, Mr. Nasty is after both of them but will he track them down?
This is a great story from Ms. Chase. Funny, contemporary, with sharp dialogue and great sex. The scenes between the two main leads are tender and erotic, and apart from the beginning, when Bryony makes her appearance wearing a basque and stockings and not much else, totally unpredictable. I wish all accountants were as hot as Micah. This is a hot little story that packs a big punch. If you want to try erotica, but are slightly intimidated by the choice, this is a great starting place.
There are several in the series, detailing erotic weekends in various far-flung places. I chose Wales because erotic and Wales in the same sentence seemed unusual... I bought my copy from Smashwords, as there is a promotion on during July 2013.
Lost Weekend An Erotic Romance In Wales combines hot sex, romance, a murder and a great plot all in a highly entertaining great short story along with the girl on top and a touch of humor for good measure. From a chance meeting, to a kidnapping to hot girl on top sex with bad guys in the background and a pushy, demanding ex-girlfriend to stir the plot, this short story is a delightful read that keeps the reader guessing what will happen next. I look forward to reading more by Chase Storm.
I loved Micah and Byrony's interactions. Hidden away, two complete strangers get to know one another. I laughed often and loved the romance growing between the two. The length was perfect for the storyline, which had a few interesting twists. Love when an author catches me off guard. I know Storm Chase has several in the series of "romance in xxx" titles, and I can't wait to read more of them.
Thinking that this might just be another adult romance with some steamy scenes I was pleasantly surprised to encounter two very interesting and complex characters with backgrounds that made them real and made their encounter and relationship believable. I would like to have Micah and Byrony as friends living down the road from me and wish them all the best as they continue in their relationship. It was a quick fun read and one I would recommend to anyone looking for a steamy escape.
What a lovely surprise this was. I've not read anything by this author so I wasn't sure what to expect. What I got was a book with a murder, hot sex & romance. I sat and read this in one sitting. Thoroughly enjoyed this & look forward to reading more from this author. Received from author in return for an honest review.
I loved this book! I have never read anything by Storm Chase before. I loved how Bryony and Micah ended up together after not starting off so great. I really enjoyed the erotic story of it combined with a love story. I'm so glad I was received this book, thank you so much! The only thing I didn't like was that it ended.

Loved it. Had to read it all at one go. Unusual story line which surprised me and kept me entertained the whole time. Very contemporary and perfect for first time erotica reader. Will be reading more, if not all of the Storm Chase novels.
A very short story that last a weekend. When i read the synopsis i expected more of it but it turns out a very simple realistic story, enjoyable, romantic and explicit. The way they met and endid up together is very entertaining. :)
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a short read, perfect size for a bedtime read or just a relaxing evening. I love the writers style and her imagination. The story holds your attention and you want the story to continue. Look forward to more by this author.
I really tried to get into this novella. It started off promising, the guy who "lost his temper", ended up killing someone and abducting a girl who then hit him over the head with a frozen leg of lamb...??? It was shaping up to be hysterical. Sorry to say, however, it all went down hill from there.
Everything seemed rushed, dramatic and there was this creepy schizophrenic vibe of "high-highs" and "low-lows" Micah and Bryony kept skirting. It just made their "instant" relationship all the more uncomfortable to read about, much less get "into".
