This is the first in the series. The main character is Ruby who owns a mobile dog grooming business.
There is suddenly another mobile dog grooming van and this guy does lousy job and charges less. They kind of get into it one day and the next day he was murdered. Now Ruby is the chief subject in his murder but she didn't do it. The main detective tells her not to leave town and not to investigate. Well she starts asking questions and getting answers but it may be too late already. Can she figure this out before it's too late ?

Ruby has a dog grooming service, Pampered Pooch Mobile Grooming, and when Vernon, a rather disreputable guy, starts a rival cut rate grooming service and then is found dead, Ruby is suspect number one! So, she sets out to prove her innocence, much to the dismay of Detective Hank Grimbsy, with the help of her good friend Clem, and the local vet!

Fun easy read
I enjoyed this cozy mystery. Lots of dogs and just a fun, easy read. I actually bought the whole set after reading a few chapters, so hopefully, they are all this good!

Ruby Mae Thornton a dog groomed becomes a suspect for her business rivals murder. There is more than meets the eye in this captivating read. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to other readers.

Good story
Ruby is a strong character with spunk. I did figure out the murderer early on, but not the motive. I'd recommend this book to my friends.

Did not finish - just didn't hold my attention. Found a bunch of evidence to clear my name? Nah, let's not bring it to the police. Received a death threat? I'll just handle it myself....

This is a good cozy mystery with lots of dogs. The murdered man is disliked by many so there is no shortage of suspects. Well-written and interesting.
