“I want to talk to you,” Pandora said.

“Wait a minute.” Xavier went off and came back with two glasses of wine and half a Mars bar. “Here,” he said, “caramel goes great with wine.”

Mindlessly Pandora ate it. She ignored the Chardonnay. She’d had enough for Dutch courage but she didn’t want to get drunk.

“Can’t you see that this isn’t right?” she said carefully. “You can’t just go about kidnapping people.”

“You’ve said this already.”

“And I’m saying it again,” Pandora said fiercely. “I made a mistake but I have a life, you know.”

He sat down and watched her. “Don’t you like the wine?” he asked.

“Did you hear what I said?”

“Yes. I heard you the other time too.”

Pandora thought she could have handled rage or threats better than this calm response. He was exasperating, she thought furiously. How could she get through to him?

“You’re even more beautiful than I thought,” Xavier said softly. “You have the most wonderful skin. And I love the way your hair curls around your face.”

“Xavier, listen to me: I want to go home,” Pandora said tartly.

He shrugged. “That’s impossible, Panda.”

She could have screamed. “I don’t want to be here,” she enunciated.

His eyes flickered. “You’ll change your mind.”

“I won’t! I want to go home!” Pandora heard in surprise that her words sounded like echoes. “Something’s weird,” she whispered. “My voice is all strange in my head.”

“I spiked your Mars bar,” Xavier said calmly. “Come on.” He picked her up effortlessly and toted her to the bedroom. “I’ve been looking forward to this.”

Pandora Fitchett’s life has taken a bad turn. Very bad.

Treachery lies behind the closed doors of British government’s most secret services, and when Pandora finds herself an innocent victim of a treason plot, she has nowhere left to turn.

At least that’s what she assumes.

Stalked by a ruthlessly logical cyber terrorist who follows her every intimate move, and who then has her kidnapped, she is thrown into a tornado of action-packed and violent world events.

Pandora’s only chance of safety will depend on a man who has no empathy, no sense of justice or obligation. A man who can destroy lives from his laptop.

Who is “Dragon” and why is he feared by so many?

Captor, or saviour? In a passionate story of intrigue and espionage, Pandora is about to discover nothing can be assumed about anyone. Even herself.

No matter how often i read Pandora,i still enjoy it as much as the first time.
Filled with a dose of suspense,a splash of humour, added with a portion of romance, this is a beautiful story about second chances.
For Pandora,in ways she never expected.
And for Xavier,because of Pandora.
These two are made for eachother, what he lacks, she adds, and vice versa.
He’s the kind of stalker you would love to have, and will do anything to make Pandora happy.
She’s the kind of girl you’d want in your corner, and she’ll do anything for the man she loves.

AJ Adams took Pandora from Storm Chase’s hands, and gave her a makeover.
And what a makeover it is....IT IS DELICIOUS!
Even better,it’s on iTunes,right here!
https://books.apple.com/nl/book/pando...
And the best news was, that i got the ARC.....

Pandora’s life isn’t fun, she’s a disappointment to her parents, and her ex is furious she ended their relationship.
Not because he loves her,but because she was his ticket to her father’s business....
Now,she’s stuck in a job she doesn’t like, and to top it all, she’s done something she shouldn’t.
So,being abducted only adds to her list of bad luck, and she can only hope she’s going to survive.
Meeting the man that organized her abduction isn’t doing that hope a lot of good.
Until she gets to know him.....

Xavier Dragon is famous and feared for his genius mind, and his hacking qualities are the best in the world.
The only thing he doesn’t understand is emotions.
But when he is asked to investigate Pandora because of what she’s done,he is....intrigued.
This girl stirrs up a feeling he’s not familiar with, but one he likes nonetheless.
Pulling her out of a tricky situation and having her delivered to him is a no-brainer.
But how to make her like him, that is the hard part...

Pandora started out as a naive girl, that only wanted to be loved.
But as the story progressed, she grew into a woman that knew what she wanted.
A woman that stood her ground when needed, and one that recognized the man Xavier was deep down.

Xavier may have been a genius, but he was new to the feeling department.
As he said himself, emotions are like braille to him.
But Pandora slowly changed that as his feelings for her grew.

What to do about her need to get away from the people he works for, though?
Can they? Does he even want to? And where could they possibly go without being found?
And worse....get her killed?

This was a story of two people finding eachother in a dangerous world.
Of two halves making a beautiful whole, and a story of emotional growth.
And it was a story of finding a place to belong.
In short,it was a story i enjoyed very much!

I received a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review.

Pandora’s life has fallen apart. She broke off her engagement to a not-very-nice guy and upset her family in the process. She went to London to start over, got a good job, was accused of espionage and then got kidnapped. Ostensibly to save her life. Now she’s in the middle of nowhere with a ruthless cyber-terrorist who has very little capacity for feelings. Will she ever escape? Does she want to?
I really, really liked this book. It kept me interested to the last page, making me wonder what would happen next. The couple of sex scenes are hot without going overboard. What I liked most was the interesting character that is the Dragon.
You could almost compare him to a Vulcan, except that Vulcans really do feel emotions, but don’t allow themselves to be ruled by them. The Dragon, on the other hand, simply doesn’t have the capacity for many emotions. You could almost label him a psychopath, except that he’s really not. He’s exceptionally sweet in his own way. His only soft spot is Pandora and he will do anything, ANYTHING to keep her safe and make her happy. He knows his weakness and compensates for it the only way he knows how…through logic. And it’s so sweet how he does, you can’t help but fall for him a little. He sticks with you.
Pandora is strong, without being overbearing, though when she starts to get manipulative, it bugs me, but that’s a personal preference. I don’t like manipulative characters. But, she stops after not too long and realizes she just needs to deal with the hand dealt to her and she accepts it gracefully.
I found the ethical issues brought up in this book very interesting and thought provoking, something I appreciate in a book. Black and white and grey areas of right and wrong. Are there really ‘good’ guys out there? Who are the bad guys, really?
I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

I received a copy of this story in an exchange for a honest review. The story starts with a single female intern who is tricked into taking confidential data from her supervisor. She gets caught by her boss and then finds herself kidnapped and taken across the world. While in captivity she falls in love with her savor/capturer. Interesting psychological twists throughout the story.

Sometimes shitty things happen to good people. Pandora grew up with parents that cared more about themselves than her. When she had the opportunity to break free she did without thinking of the consequences. After spending a year making bad relationship decisions and being broke constantly, she visited her parents for a weekend and ended up in a relationship with Richard. Richard was a family friend and successful lawyer and her parents were very pleased with the relationship. When Richard proposed, Pandora agreed. She didn't love Richard, but he was nice enough and it was nice finally having her parent’s approval. Richard real expectations soon became clear and Pandora cancelled the wedding. Her parents were more than disappointed and Richard was angry - to the point where he was planning to sue Pandora for fraud. When Pandora was offered a job for the British government right after the fiasco, things seemed to be turning around for her. It didn't take long before she was being kidnapped by her boss and a policeman. Being drugged for 3 days and witnessing 2 murders, Pandora never expected to end up at the home of her only "friend". When Pandora finds out that's she's suspected of helping the enemy, she doesn't know who's a friend or foe. Can she trust her captor even after finding out that he spied on her in every way for months? The lines between right and wrong start to blur and Pandora has to figure out who she can trust based on her best asset - her ability to read people.

As I read this book, I could feel myself becoming more open-minded just like Pandora. At first, I didn't know what to make of most of the people. You can't help yourself from falling a bit for Xavier though. Maybe that's just me. I do have a thing for nerdy guys. Give a nerd some muscles and a tan and I am all over that. I loved his nickname for Pandora! Panda! So cute! He was a real emotionless dick everybody except Pandora and that was sweet. He let himself be vulnerable and was totally honest with her right from the beginning. I'm not sure why, but the fact that he had issues understanding others emotions made him more endearing. I'm not sure I’d have been able to forgive the way Pandora arrived, but learning about the experts and stuff made it ok to overlook that and some of the other stuff he did.

Pandora was interesting. The book takes place over the course of a year and Pandora changes during that time. I'm not sure that I would've been able to handle the version at the beginning or the end the entire time. It was cool to see the transition though. She started off as this panicky, people-pleasing girl and ended up this hard confident woman. It was nice that she kept most of her good heart though.

In fairness, I should say that I wish the epilogue told us a little more. You know at least a few months have passed, but it could be years. We got quite a bit of detail during the book, but the author wraps it up with a general feeling instead of specifics. Maybe I'm alone here.
I felt like there was quite the British - American gap at the beginning, but that faded after the first few chapters. As an American married to a Brit, this was not expected. I don't normally have this problem, but I'm glad it didn't last long.

Overall, I really enjoyed the story and the way it made me think differently about people. I'm not a big fan of dark romances and I was concerned it was headed in that direction after meeting Xavier, but they actually complemented each other well. I found myself really liking Mac and wish he would've ended up with the Nerd Herd. Maybe he did though?

Wowzer. This third person pov book takes off in the beginning and just doesn't stop, for nothing. I couldn't put this book down unable to stop turning the pages and at times scanning quickly to get to the next one. I absolutely loved this story, and that's something because usually it's really hard for me to get into a third person pov. The lead characters were different than any other I've ever read and it was refreshing. This is one of those books that is hard to write a review for because I don't want to spoil it for anyone else.

I've never read a book that goes behind the scenes of espionage with as much depth as this one. With that being said, I'm sure there are some really good suspense books out there that go into great detail, but not in most romance novels. As much as there is romance in this book, it's not about the romance. It's about the story. It's about Pandora and Xavior and how they come together, adapt to change, and overcome adversity. Watching Pandora evolve during this story was amazing. She was always strong, but her fear of acceptance and people pleasing always held her back. She just wanted to be loved and everywhere she went she was just shit on. Until she meets Xavior. He brings out a side of her that helps her golden always trusting heart to learn to survive in the brutal world we live in without making her completely jaded and keeping her moral compass.

Xavior, aka The Dragon, is as bassackwards as they come and has no moral compass. Where in the beginning you think he's this sociopathic man obsessed with Pandora, you realize he is socially awkward and views everything in black and white. There is no grey area with him which makes it hard for him to empathize with others and standoffish. Man has a heart of gold where Pandora is concerned and wants nothing more for her to be happy after watching her be miserable and trapped in her shell. I loved that about him. At times it made it really hard for me during this story because of his childlike personality. I kept envisioning him as this teenager infatuated with Pandora and when they would become intimate it was rather strange. Had there been a little more "manly" description around him it would've been a bit easier, but truth be told, it was this very reason I loved his character at the same time. The fact that he loved Pandora so much he was willing to let her go for her own happiness despite how he felt for her made my heart crumble for him.

I loved the ending of the book and I'm glad that Pandora and Xavior found what they were finally looking for. The two of them deserved to find a family that accepted both of them for who they were without trying to change them and have peace and happiness for a change.

This is a must read fast paced book and I promise you won't want to put it down. It kept me up all night until I finished it. With charactization different than what you are used to, Pandora and Xavior will stay with you for a while wishing you had more.

:

Kidnapping. Murder. Isolation. Hacking. Redirection. Misdirection. Torture.

Dark themes that a young innocent girl like Pandora has to contend with.  But don't pity her.  She doesn't need your pity, nor your comfort.  All she needs is  Xavier.

Having recently dumped her fiancé, Pandora lands a great job at the Commonwealth House in London, a hot bed of espionage and counter espionage.  Her newness and naiveté  land her in a very dangerous situation, and she is drugged and kidnapped to locations unknown.  She needs a savior and  finds one in Xavier. But is he truly her savior? Can she trust him to protect her specially when she finds out that she was kidnapped on his orders?

Cleverly crafted,  Pandora is a tale of a young woman's metamorphosis from young and gullible to master negotiator and a partner in a high stakes game of destruction and death.  The woman we meet at the start of the story is not the same  woman  we say goodbye to at the end.

This book is a quick read, but don't let the shortness of the story fool you. Storm Chase manages to tell her whole story, bring to life two disparate characters and pack a lot of action in fifteen quick chapters. I love that this book has a definitive end and I don't have to wait for a sequel.

I enjoyed this book. It reminds me of friends from long ago who operate on the same  computer level of genius as Xavier.  Let me tell you, nerds and geeks have loads of fun! Trust me on this.  And not just the D&D type of fun. The type of fun that would have them streaking across a parking lot ... But I digress. If you want romance, the book has this.  If you are looking for action, it has that as well.  If you are looking for a high stakes game of bluff where the end result would be the end of people's lives, this is the book for you.  Although the hero and heroines of the story are aligned with the dark side, I find myself rooting for them, and hoping that they can survive the high stakes game they are involved in.

Pandora... I liked it! It was different to anything that I have read recently.. It was an enjoyable read. That reason alone it gets 4 stars!! Why not 5 stars you ask? Simple because I didn't like how easily she 'forgot' that he had actually kidnapped her!!

Xavier. I liked Xavier, aside from the fact that he had kidnapped pandora he was one of the good guys. I wouldn't mind him being on my side.. Even with his crazy stalker
tendencies he was a gem. He over ever cared how pandora was feeling and if she was ok. What he did wasn't the best thing but he did it for pandora. Pandora was unhappy in her life and he saved her.

Pandora. I liked her, pandora was a good girl. Maybe a little weak in her own mind but she had reason. All her life she had never been enough for anyone, if anyone wanted her it was for a reason never because of who she is.

Xavier is Pandora's chance at a fresh start. Will she accept her fresh start or get her one wish? These guys go through a lot and life isn't easy. Always indoors, never able to freely leave!

Can Xavier and Pandora make a go of things or will what Xavier did always be in the back of Pandora's mind?
Pandora is the only person Xavier has ever loved. Did he take his 'love' too far?
Will Xavier ever get out?

All in all I enjoyed this book and a really liked the characters!!

This book blew me away. I not sure how to talk about it without giving too much away, but I'll give it a shot.

Pandora is a low level administrative assistant in a government office who is roped into doing something she soon regrets. What she doesn't know is that she's being watched. Everything she does is being closely monitored by a mysterious man. A notorious cyber terrorist known only as "Dragon". And he has developed an unhealthy obsession with Pandora.

Soon Pandora finds herself in a situation she never expected. Will she learn to adapt and survive, or will it destroy her? And will she view this man as her angel, or her devil? You will have to read the book to find out.

I can tell you that this is a standalone novel, although it ends in such a way that there could be a followup if the writer ever chooses to write one. I would love to see it happen.

I fell in love with Pandora. I loved the way she started out as an innocent and helpless victim, but in the course of the novel she grows stronger each and every day. By the end she is not someone I would ever want to cross.

"Dragon" is a man you end up feeling sympathy for, something I didn't expect at first. He is a genius about some things and totally clueless about other things. But he is a man you want to be on your side. Believe me, you would never want to go up against him.

If you want to read a book featuring hot sexy scenes mixed with intrigue, romance, and danger, then you should pickup Pandora right away.

What an unconventional love story. What an unconventional pair of heroes.

I thought the author did a great job of portraying a hero with an unusual character flaw. She always gave us clues as to how Xavier was processing the information he was receiving, and how he compensated for his flaw using logic.

I'll confess I didn't really see what Xavier saw in Pandora for most of the book. Don't get me wrong, Pandora was very real and fairly easy to sympathize with, but in a kind of sad puppy-dog way. But by the end of the book, I was rooting for her, and amazed by her ability to adapt to the situation she found herself in. Her journey from hapless victim to empowered negotiator and valued asset was fun to read.

The twists and turns of this story made for a roller-coaster ride that more than made up for the slow start that came from a little too much exposition. It's obvious the author did her research, but the therapy and spy-babble wasn't overdone - I didn't have to Google or Wiki anything to make the read satisfying, which is a perfect balance for my reading pleasure.

I will be reading more books by Storm Chase.

Wow I'm really not sure how to put into words what I think of this story.

This is Pandoras story. It's a story of how she grows from a quiet insecure woman to a feisty woman. She is drugged & kidnapped. Her whole world is turned upside down. Here she meets the computer geek Xavier. He will do absolutely anything for Pandora. Now this is where I'm going to zip it and not spill anything.

I will admit that it took me a few pages to get into the book which is rare for me. I'm now very happy that I stuck with it.

I was totally gripped to this story. I couldn't read it fast enough. The twists and turns had me at the edge of my seat. When I finished I had to ring my book buddy Sue & ask what the hell had I just read. Yes that's the reaction I had. With the way I was talking about it even Sue came to the conclusion it would be a 5 star as it brought such a reaction to me.

If your looking for a good fiction book that goes towards the dark side then this is it.
If I could give this more than five stars I would!!!!

Storm Chase is a pen name for AJ Adams... I love AJ's stuff... LOVE. So, when the opportunity rose to read one of her other books, I jumped on the chance.

I didn't hate this book. I didn't love this book. My main issue was with Dragon.. the lead character. I need a bad boy Alpha male. And although he was a bad boy, he had Alpha tendencies, he was not strong and steady when it came to Pandora.

Pandora has found herself in the middle of a mess that she had no idea she stepped into. Her world is thrown on it's axis when the truth is revealed. I liked the plot and story line of this one. It was a good suspense like story. There was plenty of twists and turns to keep you wondering what was going on.

I will continue to read books by this author. This one did not deter me from her stuff. And because I love her other ones so much, I figure that this is a situation where you just can't love them all.

This story really amazed me with its ability to transform the main heroine Pandora from an inexperienced awkward unsure of herself young woman into a skilled and highly sure of herself grown woman when faced with the challenges presented to her after being kidnapped.

It’s a story that should be read for yourself without any spoilers in the reviews so I will not be giving anything else away for fear of spoiling the enjoyment for a reader.

The start was little slow for me but once the action started, I thoroughly enjoyed it and by action I mean kidnapping and murder which takes you on a suspenseful and thrilling fast paced ride.

I received a copy for the blog tour! This book was really good. I do have to admit I was a little confused at the beginning, but I soon caught on and it was really intriguing. It has a lot of twist and turns that made the book really interesting. I really like Pandora, she really grew as a person. I really didn’t care for Xavier at the beginning after he kidnaps Pandora. But towards the end he really grew on me. It was a very fast paced book, I read it quickly. If you like suspense, you would really like the book. This is the first book I have read from this author and I will say I was really impressed and will read more.

Storm Chase has done it again! She has taken unusual characters, put them together and let the sparks fly. Xavier is a computer hacker who has trouble reading emotions. He works for a “committee” and is kind of a mercenary for those requiring his services. Pandora, working at Admiralty House, is kidnapped by Xavier’s crew and taken as a hostage to stay with Xavier in Africa. Both are Xavier and Pandora are strong likable characters and their relationship is fun to watch as it grows. I would recommend this book to those who like romance but romance with a twist.

Whoa! My first ever spy thriller filled with espionage and action. I didn't know what to expect, but it was an interesting twist of events. Engaging storyline with an interesting heroine. Pandora didn't seem like the brightest cookie in the box at first, but as the story carried on, I began to get an idea of the bigger picture. Good, fast read and engaging plot. Wasn't a fan of some of the ethical problems that arose but pleased with the story over all. Made a fan of me.

Interesting book, I'm not crazy about the kidnapped falling in love with the kidnapper. No my favorite kind of book, but I did like these characters. I really liked Pandora especially how much she grew at the end off the book. A very quick ending, the story seemed to go on and on the 'The End.'

This was a really enjoyable read, so much so I'll probably read it again (often).

Pandora is in a real pickle. She made a mistake, one in a seemingly long line of mistakes, which gets her in a whole lot of trouble - the kind you don't wake up from. That's when her benign stalker Dragon steps in to save her hide. The rest is a fun romantic romp which is much milder than many of this author's offerings.

Pandora was a likeable character, but I must say that for me Dragon stole the show. He was sweet and confused and ruthless, just my kind of hero.

I would recommend this book to people who like darker themes but without gratuitous violence. Whilst this is a kidnap story, Dragon is in no way the preditor that the "hero" often is in these stories.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow, I love unique storytelling and this one blew me away. Cover was cute but the blurb sucked me in!

What did I like? Pandora is an innocent caught up in mess that she can’t control when she is kidnapped and taken to the Dragon. Xavier... known as the Dragon has been watching Pandora and wants her for his own. This was a thrilling ride and I loved Xavier’s nickname for Pandora. This was a fun read!

Would I recommend or buy? If you recognize the author or not this is an engrossing story that you won’t want to put down. I enjoyed everything about this book! I need more ! I would definitely recommend and want this for my shelf! Loved it!

Unusual Romance

This is the first time that I have read a book written by this author and I enjoyed it. Pandora is a sweet but niéve girl. She winds up getting kidnapped by Xavier when she's slated to be killed. Xavier has trouble connecting with people but did with Pandora and keeps her from being killed.
This story was unusual because you can see Pandora adapting to what Xavier does for a living. She finds out who she really is inside. I enjoyed the book and can't say much more or I'll give away the book. So get, read it, and see if you agree or disagree with the way the book goes.

Pandora is a different story from what I am used to when reading a book by AJ Adams. But that does not mean I did not like it, as I did. I just had to adjust my expectations going in and let myself go where the authors wanted to take the readers, and it is quite the roller-coaster ride. I felt sorry for Pandora but also intrigued by the story-line that she is given. This was a really good read and it kept my attention with all the twists and turns.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Really good

I enjoyed the story immensely and loved the characters. It has almost everything romance, mystery, suspense, great, believable characters and chemistry between them that is felt throughout the story. The story idea is very good and was definitely up my street. I would certainly recommend the book to anyone loving hackers, computer's geeks and stories about them.

A story that took a dark turn but showed a great deal of growth from beginning to end. The story built in intensity As the story progressed which gave an energy and excitement to the story. The characters were fabulous - each one very intriguing. I enjoyed reading this book.

This book was really hard to get into. I didn't like Xav. He was creepy. Pandora was whiny. But as the book moved forward it got better.
"Yummy Mummy" will now be my favorite line to use. I loved it. The ending was the best part of the book. I liked how Pandora suddenly had a spine and used it. It's not an awful book. It was just really hard for me to really get into it when I couldn't connect with the characters.

The dialogue is witty at times and the twists in the plot will keep you on your toes. This is a quick read to pass a day, but nothing that blew me away.
