Sincerely, Your Enemy: Special Edition

Rate this book
It all started with a phone call.

I was trying to reach my sister. So, you can imagine my surprise when a deep, ridiculously sexy voice answered the phone…

Mathias Jacobs embodies all that is wrong with basketball players. He’s arrogant, hotter than hell, and the worst part? He’s my new dating coach.

He says I lack confidence. And if anyone can help me land the man of my dreams, it’s him.

All I have to do in exchange is tutor him in math before his grades get him kicked off the team. Piece of cake.

And it would be, if it weren’t for the massive lie he tells my crush to make him jealous.

The next thing I know, TJ is my fake boyfriend, and I’m toeing the line between hating his guts and craving something real.

He might not care if it ends in disaster, but I’d rather die than let a basketball god set my world on fire.

And if I have to go down weaving a web of lies and deceit?

He’s going down with me.

Sincerely, Your Enemy is a spicy, fake dating college sports romance. It is a complete stand-alone.

“So, you don’t like him?” I decide to fess up so I can get away from him and the heavy tension filling the air. “No, I told you I’d changed my mind about that.” He can barely hide his grin. “Good.” He releases my wrist once I’ve satisfied his curiosity. I frown. “Why is that good?” TJ fills the space between us, only stopping when our breaths merge. “Because I changed my mind, too.” I can’t move a muscle as he brings his mouth just inches away from mine and blows our “friendship” to pieces with five little words. “He can’t fucking have you.” Then he’s crashing his mouth against mine.”

if i could rate this book solely on this one quote it would be a 5 star so imagine my shock (or awe) when the whole book was AWESOME. Eliah hit the jackpot with this one not going to lie. TOO GOOD. I’ve read all of her works, I’ve been here ever since she was writing on wattpad and safe to say this is my FAVOURITE BOOK of hers.

I adored the characters so much, though sometimes (mostly at end) TJ made me question him with his actions, i still understood his character and his reason.
Lacey was so cute. I have a soft spot for girls who take care of their siblings and lacey was doing her best while juggling everything and i was so proud of her.

I was fully captivated by their story and read it in one sitting because i was so invested in their happily ever after. I loved the friendships portrayal and the love there was between the girls.

Shockingly enough, i also loved the aspect of the mystery which served quite good imo. I cant wait to read the next one in the series!

I follow the author Eliah Greenwood on Instagram so I was really excited when I saw the promo for Sincerely, Your Enemy. I wish I had revisited her previous books beforehand because I found myself a little lost trying to keep track of who was who—but credit to Eliah, she did a good job of explaining the relationships enough to make this work as a standalone.

I really enjoyed Lacy’s backstory and hearing about the change in her (key here was hearing it, because the whole book we only see her as this selfless older sister turned guardian). I especially loved her dynamic with her siblings—it felt natural and relatable. None of the tropes felt fleshed out. The fake dating trope, for example, felt more like a side note rather than a driving force in the plot. In fact, the “enemies” aspect felt almost non-existent. There was very little tension or back-and-forth banter that typically defines the enemies-to-lovers trope. It felt like they slipped into an easy friendship quickly, which left me wanting more conflict or resistance to really sell that arc.

That being said, the spice was done well. Eliah is great at building anticipation, and those intimate moments definitely delivered. The drama throughout the book, though, felt a bit over-the-top. Without spoiling anything, I’ll just say some of the plot points seemed overly dramatic without being fully explored, which made them feel rushed or unresolved, especially considering how serious they were.

Overall, it was fine. There were parts I enjoyed, but it’s probably not one I’d revisit.

I have loved this author as an OG reader of her Unwritten Rules series. Will and Kass's story will forever live rent free in my head. The angst, the chemistry, the push pull, the feels were all chef's kiss. That is why this story was such a disappointment comparatively. The angst was very contrived thst it might as well have been non existent. The chemistry was lost to instalove. The push-pull was over the top and unnecessary. They're together, no they're not, they're back together and now they're not....for the most imbecile reasons. The enemies to lovers label was ridiculous and contrived as almost an afterthought. There was no delicious bullying or angst. There was no "enemies" whatsoever, just a very dumb plot that was so far fetched. Sad to say I'm completely disappointed. I had such high hopes because I truly loved this authors older work.

Author Eliah Greenwood is back with a brand new book from a brand new series.
Sincerely, Your Enemy is the first Standalone from Silver Springs series, that follows the story of Lacey Mattson and Mathias ‘TJ’ Jacobs in this Enemies to Lovers, Faking Dating, College Sports Romance. Whilst told through dual perspective.

I thought I knew what to expect when it came to Lacey and TJ’s story, having read the blurb. But boy did author Eliah prove me wrong.
The development of the story just kept on giving, something I wasn’t expecting at all, seeing as there was more than meets the eye when it came to the overall narrative.
Yes there was drama and suspense, but with the addition of mystery from the secrets kept and alluded to. As well as the unexpected twists and turns that bought about darker themes.
It not only caught me off guard, but was most definitely surprising to say the least. Having kept me on the edge of my seat a majority of times, while chopping at the bits.
The revelations that came to light, due to the surprise bombshells was not only shocking, it completely caught me off guard. Only to then throw me off course from the way the development continued to unwind.
It caused me to hold on tighter, even more intrigued to see just what else author Eliah would throw our way, considering at nearly every turn, Lacey and TJ had you wondering what else they could bring to the table despite already doing the most, not only within their individual lives, but within their journey together. As well as alongside their friends in the form of secondary characters, who held their own in the roles they played.

Maybe it’s just me, but Sincerely, Your Enemy seemed to have a little more to give in comparison to Eliah’s previous books.
Sure we had Lacey and TJ’s story to follow, but given all else that was going on around them, it made for side plots to come out of the woodworks.
But despite that, author Eliah still managed to make it full circle by having those side plots connect back to the main storyline. Ultimately allowing for a very thorough and extensive story development, without ever truly straying away from Lacey and TJ.

As for the characters, the development too was very through and deep, paving the way for much to explore and delve through when it came to the two.
It was a story that showcased change for both Lacey and TJ considering how much they managed to evolve and turn their lives around.
As well as growth in the challenges they faced and overcame, given all that they learnt, causing them to thrive and mature even more over time, becoming a bigger and better version of themselves. Not only for themselves, but for family and friends given the impact it had on them too.

Author Eliah really knew how to pack a punch in the exploration of deep, intense and angsty emotions.
Then again it was to be expected from the hand Lacey and TJ were dealt in their lives, whether that be in the form of their individual path. And the one that connected them and venturing through as their relationship changed.
There were many moments throughout that had the intensity of emotions not only hitting hard.
But impacted you just as much as Lacey and TJ, at least that’s how it felt for me. Feeling the metaphorical punches alongside them.

It truly was an emotional whirlwind rollercoaster ride that was Lacey and TJ’s journey.
Going through many ups from the highs that bought about happiness, excitement, adoration and joy. Paving the way for some great moments to be had between the two and in their lives.
All the way to the very core of the downs from the lows of feeling hurt, pain, grief, sadness and anger too, given the hardships faced, endured and suffered through for the two. Leading to the tugging of heart strings being and feeling very much real.

Being able to catch up with the secondary characters in the form of couples from Easton High series, such as Aveena and Xavier and Dia and Finn was great to see.
The fact that author Eliah threw in what they were up to and how they had been in the time passed since their story was told, without taking away Lacey and TJ’s story was a nice touch in having been done so well.

All that needs to be said now is Eliah Greenwood did a great job.
Lacey and TJ’s story Sincerely, Your Enemy was truly a whirlwind that captivated your attention and gripped your heart strings in this highly emotionally charged and angsty driven read that was very much engaging, having been well written.
I look forward to reading more from Silver Springs series with the stories from Oli and Kelsea, Theo and Ashley and Jesse and Bex still to come.

Another deliciously angsty, wonderfully emotive new adult love story from Eliah Greenwood- I’m so happy to be back in this world! With some surprise twists, plenty of feels, and as usual two compelling characters with plenty of baggage and a life altering chemistry. Sincerely, Your Enemy is a great addition to the Silver Springs world.

It’s been a minute since I’ve read this world, but I was excited to see TJ and Lacey’s story pan out, since they’ve been part of the supporting cast in prior books. We have a little tutoring/fake dating/dating lessons plotline to bring these two together, though like always with Eliah, there’s always so much more than meets the eye. I was a bit apprehensive with how Lacey would be in this book, but life has happened, and also growth has happened, and she’s different and grown up, and has some real life complications and challenges she’s facing, including taking care of our family. She’s not longer the rich girl we once knew…or TJ assumes she is.

As with prior books, there’s always so much more than meets the surface with these characters. And as their situationship evolves, more of that comes to light. And we also have a broader suspense/mystery at play as well that we aren’t quite sure how it relates to their dynamic story, but obviously all the pieces come together in a surprising way that causes all kind of drama and heartache. But all comes together in a beautiful end (with a great grand gesture) to get these two their much deserved HEA.

What to Expect
-Tutoring for Fake Dating Lessons
-Enemies to lovers vibes
-Basketball Player
-New Adult/College
-He falls first
-mystery elements/twists
-he falls first

Ok I’ll be honest I like to review while it’s fresh in my brain I wasn’t able to do that and I’ve read a few books in between.

I absolutely adored TJ and Lacey…

The way TJ held onto his anger for something that wasn’t really Lacey’s fault, and when he learned the truth man

But the interactions of their whole families and friends and the way their feelings grew and how TJ not only protected her but her sister too…

This was just a great book and I’ve loved this whole series so I was so happy to see this and get to read it.

“I would gladly rip outs piece of my broken heart so that I could fix yours.”

Sweet sigh. I’m so happy to be back in my Eliah Greenwood era. This author has again outdone herself with another gem in the scintillating Silver Springs series that shatters and shines. Sincerely, Your Enemy was everything I wanted—no needed—and more. I was OBSESSED with this romance that stole my breath, tears and heart … owning every part of me.

First though, I must pause. Ms. Greenwood, your dedication moved me so much. “Thank you for loving me when I don’t love myself.” Oh did I feel your pain as I can easily relate. I truly hope your heart is healing.

Sincerely, Your Enemy is a fierce sports meets college romance simmering in enemies-to-lovers and fake dating tropes. TJ is a heart-stopping basketball star whose perfect match is Lacey, the beautiful and endearingly awkward girl or his enemy. Broken sees broken and this hero and heroine are a fusion of fire and ice who are magical together.

Lacey and TJ go on an epic emotional roller coaster and I felt all the ups, downs, twists, turns, and thrills. OMG … the delicious inner thoughts … the angst … the push and pull … the chemistry … the intensity … the love-hate vibes … I was done for! My body and soul burst into flames, as I burned for this book. So beautifully broken and brilliantly told.

Though Sincerely, Your Enemy is so much more than a romance. It’s hard-fought love. It’s a battle of past demons and perseverance. It’s letting others in to help pick up those broken pieces. It’s everything! I loved every word of this steamy, explosive, and empowering love story that left me melting for more. I’ll never get enough of this epic series.

💋💋💋💋💋💋 but worth all the messy kisses

What stood out the most is the deep character development. Lacey's struggle between being a caretaker and a student resonates with anyone who’s had to grow up quickly and become the sole provider for their family. The weight that you carry.

The chemistry between Lacey and TJ is electric amidst the tension of his hidden motives. The added layer of a kidnapping attempt (cause lil sis just had to talk to the "hot guy" online) added a level of suspense, given the reports of young girls going missing in the area that were being reported. And you're just there like wtf were you thinking? Ever heard of Stranger Danger!!

Their story is engaging from start to finish and their emotional growth, especially in the face of personal and family challenges, makes this book hard to put down. And that ending!? That's twice now in one week I have a damn heart attack.

Epic Romance!

Lacey and TJ go through a terrifying ordeal on their journey to a HEA.
Lacey has been burned by a guy before and has her hands full caring for two siblings, so she is understandably reticent about dating again, though the new guy in town seems interested.

TJ offers to coach Lacey in catching her beau's attention if she will tutor him, so he doesn't lose his chance to play basketball. He has an ulterior motive but soon finds himself catching feelings for his tutor.

we each have a person out there. A match. A soulmate. A crazy, messy story just waiting to begin. All we have to do is be brave enough to go look for it.
Sincerely, Your Enemy- Eliah Greenwood

There are plenty of scary moments as well as grand gestures guaranteed to flutter your heartstrings. Excellent read!

I have been a fan of Eliah since her Wattpad days and every time I read one of her books I am reminded of why I am such a fan of her!! Every single story she puts out is SO good.

Our FMC Lacey we had met in previous books and as soon as we found out her book was coming I was SO excited. I needed to know more about her and she truly did not disappoint. She is the legal guardian of her two siblings and hasn’t been able to focus on her dating life. In comes TJ who proposes tutoring in exchange with his help in getting the attention of the new boy in town.

TJ and Lacey were everything. The romance was top tier and I found myself so invested in their happy ending. The plot in this book had me hooked and I finished this book in 2 days because I could not put it down. The side plot was so intense and the plot twist had my jaw dropping. I fully thought I knew what was going to happen and I in fact did not. Eliah truly knows how to write an insane plot while also not lacking in the romance!!

Thank you so much to Eliah for the arc of this book. I will forever be a fan of your writing and I can’t wait for the next book!! If you love romance, plot twists and amazing side characters then you should definitely consider picking up one of her books.

I wanted to wait for a release week to pass before giving my review of the ARC because sadly, this did not hit😞

I really truly expected to love this. I wanted to like it so bad but idk what happened.

I have read all the other books of this author and they were all rated 4 or 5 stars. This one however, it wasn’t for me. I will continue to read her work though!

I don’t know how Eliah does it, but I just can’t seem to put her books down once I start. I binged this book in a day & I LOVED it. Tj & Lacey were everything I didn’t even know I needed. Their story was so full of banter, romance, & LOTS plot twists. In fact, I was fully ready to throw down with Eliah at the end for that last almost plot twist, thinking we weren’t actually getting an HEA!! 😅 I was sobbing at 1 am finishing this book.

Shocking twist

Finn and Dia will always be my favourite story but I think TJ and Lacey are tied for some of the most intense angst and drama. We got to 85% of the book and I did not see that turn coming.

I really enjoyed this story. The twist was unexpected. I thought it was some cute fake dating romance to help her get the new guy. Boy, was I in for a shock.

Fast forward a bit and give us more of the siblings please.

Eliah Greenwood is back at it again!! I’ve been anxiously waiting TJ and Lacey’s book and it did not disappoint. Sincerely, Your Enemy was such a fun read and it was great getting to revisit the Easton High/Silver Springs gang again.

TJ and Lacey’s story is one of angst, desire, and belonging, but also one that begins on the wrong foot due to pre-conceived opinions. TJ asks Lacey to help tutor him and in return he’ll help her get a guy’s attention, but they’re not exactly on friendly terms. However, as soon as they start to pretend to date, things turn real when TJ and Lacey uncover more about each other and who they really are.

I loved this book because there were a lot of surprises throughout, mainly a darker theme that I wasn’t expecting but loved because it added a whole new element to the book! The tension in this novel was really good and I enjoyed watching TJ and Lacey explore their feeling for each other whilst juggling what life threw at them. Lacey, for sure, is an inspirational character and she’s grown so much from DLIHY.

Plus, the side characters were also amazing! I loved seeing Xavier and Aveena, and Finn and Dia, and everyone else. Reading this book made me realise how much I loved this series!

Thank you Eliah and Wildfire Marketing for the ARC 💕

I honestly feel a bit disappointed with this book. I had such high expectations for it, but it just didn’t live up to them. Maybe I set the bar too high because I really love this series, especially the duet.

First of all, the tropes are not what you would expect. They’re quickly glazed over, almost as if they were thrown in just for the sake of it. This didn't really feel like an enemies to lovers romance. Lacey and TJ don’t dislike each other in any meaningful way, it is just they just don’t really know each other well at first. But once they do, it’s basically insta-love. There’s no real banter, no tension, nothing that makes an enemies-to-lovers dynamic work. They become very good friends almost immediately, so I wouldn’t say that trope applies at all. It left me wanting more. The fake dating aspect also felt underdeveloped. It seemed like the book was trying to include as many tropes as possible without actually exploring any of them deeply.

Their chemistry also felt a bit forced, and I didn’t find it very convincing. The entire story unfolds over less than two months, which isn’t necessarily an issue, but given how many dramatic events take place in such a short time, it felt over the top and all over the place, especially considering the lack of natural chemistry between them.

That being said, I really liked both Lacey and TJ as individual characters and their dynamic with their friends was very enjoyable.
Lacey, in particular, stood out to me. Having followed her journey from the earlier books, I was so proud of how much she had grown. She has gone through so much, and yet she came out stronger, more confident, and finally learned to put herself first. I loved seeing her step into her own power, making choices for herself rather than letting others define her. Her character development was one of the best parts of this book.
TJ also had some great qualities that made him very likable and he was charming in his own way. I also loved how well he fit within the group. However, his personality felt off compared to what was teased on Instagram and how he was initially described. He was made out to be the campus heartthrob, a bad boy, so I was expecting high school Finn vibes. Instead, he felt more like good guy Xavier. That wouldn’t have been a problem at all if he had been described that way from the start. But since the book repeatedly refers to him as a bad boy, a player who doesn’t do relationships, it was jarring that we never really see that side of him. Then suddenly, he wants to be with Lacey, and she’s all he cares about, but I didn’t fully understand why. Do not get me wrong, I love Lacey, and she’s an amazing character, but I didn’t feel like their romantic connection was strong enough to justify such a sudden shift in TJ given the way he was supposed to be/described. With Finn and Dia, that shift made sense because Dia was the only person who truly understood Finn, the only one he let in. With Xavier and Aveena, she was the person he could be completely honest with. But with Lacey and TJ, I didn’t get that same depth, it felt like their connection wasn’t built on anything truly substantial. Nevertheless, Lacey and TJ’s little family dynamic felt really heartwarming, and I was happy to see them both find the sense of family they were missing.

The friendships in this book were, once again, one of the strongest elements. I absolutely loved seeing the whole gang again. Their inside jokes, the way they support each other no matter what, and their sibling like bond made the story feel warm and familiar. The group dynamic is one of the things that makes this series so so so special. Every time they were all in a scene together, I found myself smiling. It felt like coming home to characters I’ve grown attached to.

Another issue was how the book handled serious topics like These are incredibly heavy themes, yet they weren’t given the depth they deserved. The characters didn't seem as affected as they should be, which made it feel like these elements were included just for shock value rather than to be meaningfully addressed. I did enjoy some of the plot twists. While the story did feel a bit messy and all over the place at times, I have to admit that some of the twists caught me off guard in a good way. The unpredictability kept me engaged, and despite my mixed feelings about the romance, I still wanted to see how everything would unfold.

In the epilogue of Dear Heart, I Miss You, it’s mentioned that Lacey I expected this to be explored in this book, but it wasn’t brought up at all. (Edit: It is actually mentioned in the extra epilogue, but it doesn’t add much to the story. Hopefully, this is foreshadowing for a future book or maybe second-generation books.)

I also would have loved to see more of the other couples. One of the things I adored in the previous books was how we got major moments with side couples that left us wanting more, like Finn’s love confession in DLIHY or Aveena’s pregnancy reveal to Xavier in DHIMY. It would have been nice to get something like that here. Also, I would have liked to see more of Lacey’s conversation with Theo, since that was such a big deal for her. I’d definitely recommend reading the previous books in the series to get a better understanding of Lacey’s character because this book doesn’t go too deep into her past.

One thing that felt very rushed was

Despite all of that, the story was still enjoyable because I love these characters and this universe so much. But maybe my expectations were too high after waiting so long and loving the teasers. It could have been better if the connection between them felt more genuine and if the tropes were actually more developed. But overall, it was still an interesting read. Even when the romance didn’t fully convince me, I was still very happy to be back in their world.

I might re-read it or go back to certain parts when the next books come out, maybe I’ll like it more then. Despite my mixed feelings about this one, I’m still EXTREMELY excited for the upcoming books, especially Jesse & Beatrix and Theo & Ashley!!!

I’m gonna start this review off by saying, I’M SO SORRY IT’S LATE!!! I had to walk away from this book quite a few times…not because it was bad but because I related to it a little TOO MUCH and it emotionally was taking me places that just drained me. So I needed to BREATHE! Especially with the ending? I was TERRIFIED that it was going in a different direction and I literally put my kindle down , walked away and cried in my bathtub. I didn’t look at it for a week because I was so scared of what I THOUGHT was going to happen. But thankfully it was the opposite and these sweet babies got their MUCH DESERVED happy ever after.

*phew* ok. Let’s begin. This story is about T.J. , the all star basketball player and Lacey…the sweet but very reserved/nerdy math genius. They don’t necessarily HATE each other but they have a mutual dislike for each other based on pre-conceived notions of each other.

Lacey has been busy raising her younger siblings since becoming their guardian and her love life has been non existent since. But she’s intrigued by the new guy in town.

T.J. Also has been raising his younger siblings but isn’t really interested in relationships. Quick hookups are just fine for him. But what he really needs is help in his math class. And he knows just who to ask and just what to offer.

T.J. Offers to help Lacey get the new guy by being her fake boyfriend…in return she tutors him in math. She agrees and as they spend time together things turn anything but fake. T.J.’s feelings for her are VERY real and that doesn’t always sit well with him. Lacey is starting to feel it too but thinks she’s too broken and too damaged to deserve some one like him 💔

That killer me. That feeling of thinking you will never be good enough for someone you desperately want because you don’t want them to see all of your broken and damaged parts. Keeping them at an arms length to protect them from you even if it’s killing you inside. And that person desperately wanting you to see that despite your brokenness and damage, all they see is their perfect match. The person they want to love and protect. (Not me crying writing this 😩)

This book, while it had its funny moments, its sweet moments…it was truly a story of two broken people finding each other and healing each other. Healing those parts of each other that they thought made them less than deserving of love. They were so intertwined in each other after opening up and letting their guard down that there was no way they could see a life in which the other wasn’t by their side. And that is just such a beautiful thing to see and read. Everyone has their person out there…no matter what life has thrown at you, no matter how many battle scars you have…you are someone’s world. You just have to be patient enough to find them 💜

Sincerely, Your Enemy is a spinoff of Eliah Greenwood's Easton High series and follows former rich girl Lacey, who is now a struggling college student and guardian to her two younger half-siblings. Even though Lacey has a lot on her plate, she reluctantly begins tutoring TJ, one of the guys in her extended friend group (who also happens to be friends/teammates with her high school fling, Theo) in exchange for dating lessons in order to catch another guy's attention. Eventually, TJ and Lacey even start a fake relationship, but real feelings get involved and the line starts to blur between what is real and what is pretend.

And unbeknownst to Lacey, TJ has ulterior motives in sparking up a friendship with her.

This book is full of several twists and turns that I was not expecting. I really liked TJ as the hero, and as I was reading the story, could not figure out why it was titled "Sincerely, Your Enemy." And then there is a subplot with missing young women that I felt was unrelated and I wasn't sure how that would play into the bigger picture. Once it all clicked into place, I enjoyed the overall story Eiah Greenwood was telling, and how Lacey and TJ's pasts converged in the present.

Both TJ and Lacey had been supporting characters in previous books, and I really liked seeing her shine as the main character here. I thought the relationship that she had with her younger siblings was sweet, even as she grappled with trying to figure out how to parent them after their father's death. I don't remember much about TJ from the previous books, but I will say that his character surprised me. I thought he was kind of a cocky jerk at first, but he proved to have multiple layers and was actually dealing with quite a bit as far as his homelife goes, none of which is an easy subject for him to speak about with his friends.

Once the awful truth comes out, it's crushing for Lacey because she truly was blindsided. And EG had written TJ in such a great way that I really felt badly for him because what he perceived to be was not at all reality. He has a long way to go to grovel, and his Grand Gesture was absolutely perfect.

Having read the Easton High books a few years back, I was thrilled to get updates on Aveena and Xavier, and Finn and Dia. (The timeline of this book is shortly after the Dear Heart duet because Vee and X are still expecting their baby.)

Overall, this book was a pretty surprising story that packed an emotional punch. I really hope that Theo & Vee's sister get a story soon!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

This was a lot of fun. Not surprised as Eliah Greenwood’s books are always a fun time. Her books are fast paced easy reads with good romance. Sincerely, Your Enemy the fourth book in the Silver Springs series had much of the same elements as her other books not only in this series but also her other two. I know P.S. I’m Still Yours is considered part this series but she has since stated it’s part of a different series. It nice to learn more about Lacey in this book. In Dear Love, I Hate You she is kind of a mean girl and not all that likable. In Dear Heart we learn that she has mended her ways and is best friends with both Dia and Aveena. While it is mentioned that she changed it wasn’t fully mentioned what happened to have her change. Here we get the full story of her becoming the legal guardian of her half siblings after their dad dies. Her mom cuts her off as well and her whole world is turning upside down. I liked how Greenwood discussed the struggle of becoming a guardian of younger siblings and how it’s important to have a strong support system. It felt very real to get why Lacey humbled and learned the error of her ways. We finally get to fully meet TJ. He makes a small appearance in the Dear Heart when Dia states that the group is trying to set them up and again in the epilogue. I enjoyed learning more about TJ and why he is out to get Lacey. Honestly that plot line alone would have made the story so good. Adding the human trafficking story I felt didn’t do much for the story. It felt like the organization storyline in the Rules series, it didn’t add anything to the story but Jair added drama. That’s how I felt about this storyline here. Sure you can say that what happened with her sister is what brings Lacey and TJ closer but after that it wasn’t needed. It’s why I couldn’t give this the full five stars cause that part didn’t do anything for me or the story. I did like the part about TJ’s half siblings which will be having their own series soon and I hope Lacey and TJ make an appearance in one of those books. I am also really hoping we finally get Theo and Ashely’s book as I’ve been waiting forever for their story. All in all this was a good installment in this series and I look forward to more from Greenwood as always

emotional college basketball romance

4.5⭐️ 3🌶️ An angsty, tension-filled, enemies-to-lovers college sports romance with an MMC that has a foul mouth and a praise/degradation affinity? Say less.

Lacey is in college and working to take care of her brother and sister after their dad died. TJ is on the basketball 🏀 team but needs help to pass his classes. TJ gets Lacey to tutor him, while he gives her dating/confidence lessons. Their chemistry is hot 🥵 . And so is TJ’s filthy mouth. 👄 TJ has his reasons for hating her (you’ll discover why at the end) but soon he realizes he was all wrong about Lacey and is gone for her. He shows up at her house to take care of her when she was sick. He’s constantly doing and saying things that make her think he wants her but her fear of rejection/abandonment stops her from trusting him.

"A beautiful, stubborn, math-loving badass who sacrificed everything to take care of her family."
‘Oh my God. Why do I feel like I could melt into a puddle when he says things like that?’

"God, I can't believe it took me this long to see you. I'm so sorry, Lace.”

‘Only then, when I fall apart in my sister's arms, do I understand that being strong isn't about making people think you're unbreakable. It's about knowing when to share your broken pieces with them.’

I’m sorry I blamed you for my pain, when the only thing you ever did was make me happy. You were never my enemy.’

‘I used to think my love would always be
unrequited.’

‘Because we each have a person out there. A match. A soulmate. A crazy, messy story just waiting to begin.
All we have to do is be brave enough to go look for it.’

Review: 𝕊𝕚𝕟𝕔𝕖𝕣𝕖𝕝𝕪, 𝕐𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝔼𝕟𝕖𝕞𝕪..talk about some edging, some angst, so HATE and some absolute found family vibes with this one! Eliah took her time with Lacey and TJ’s book and IT PAID OFF! All the hype and excitement I had while waiting for their story was worth it and I am only sad that it has come to and end. Lacey Mattson was such an amazing FMC and Eliah could not have picked anyone better to be paired with TJ. They banter that these two had left me in stitches one minute then biting my nails the next because I could never predict what the other would say!

This is a player x tutor romance but there is so so much more to this book than just a typical tutor and jock romance. Eliah was able to craft a unique twist on the trope by one making them despise each other, two have both of them be guardians of their younger siblings and finally by throwing in the spicy flirting lessons! There was just so many good things in this book that made it hard to put down and I am excited to continue the Silver Swings series to see what couple happens next!

𝕊𝕚𝕟𝕔𝕖𝕣𝕖𝕝𝕪, 𝕐𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝔼𝕟𝕖𝕞𝕪 is one of my best books of the read and it is highly recommended fly me or anyone who loves a good enemies to lovers romance! Lacey and TJ are both the most unexpected couple yet the couple you could always see coming. They are only made better by all the amazing side characters that Eliah creates!

Rating: 100+; Can I volunteer to tutor TJ? Like seriously this man was 100% down for the count and I need more!

Thank you Eliah for this eARC!
