About the author

Queer fiction author Roe Horvat was born in the former Czechoslovakia. Equipped with a dark sense of sarcasm and a penchant for Czech beer, Roe traveled Europe and finally settled in Sweden. He came out as transgender in 2017 and has been fabulous since. He loves Jane Austen, Douglas Adams, bad action movies, stand-up comedy, pale ale, and daiquiri, with equal passion. When not hiding in the studio doing graphics, he can be found trolling cafés in Gothenburg, writing, and people-watching.

Quickies: Erotic Short Stories by Roe is exactly what you'd expect—if you've read a Roe book before, you know the drill! A waterfall of slick, cum, and, in some cases, milk. 😏 Some of these shorts later evolved into full novels like Omega Claimed, Milk, and Cabin Fever.

i’m kind of disappointed. everyone had great things to say about the author, so i was expecting some insane, filthy smut. this felt like the same thing over and over with different characters and setting. still enjoyable, but Office Heat and Paris & Boone were the only ones i really liked :/

I couldn’t get into to anything so decided I wanted to read something with very little plot and mostly smut! A friend recommended this author and when I found this little collection of 8 short stories I was super excited! Was exactly what I needed for the mood I was in. I also really loved that after every short the author made a recommendation for one of their books that was similar to that short story. I thought this was a genius idea and more authors should do something like this! Below are my notes about all the stories.

The Were
I loved this short a lot. It was fun, short and full of smut. Would definitely read more shorts or full stories like this!
Recommended story:
Omega Claimed - I ended up reading this immediately and absolutely loved it. Gave it 5⭐️.

Office Heat
I wasn’t a huge fan of this short. I didn’t feel the chemistry between the MCs at all.
Recommended story:
Milk - Not interested in reading.

What Do the Orcs Hunt
This was an interesting story. It wasn’t my fav but kept me interested enough. It was mostly one MC telling a sexy story to the other MC but then a little friends with benefits action between two omegas.
Recommended story:
Series only available on Patreon.

Intern
Overall I enjoyed this short. I wasn’t a huge fan of the language the Alpha MC was using. A little too derogatory for me but I enjoyed it other than that.
Recommended story:
Cabin Fever - Not interested in reading.

The Brat and the Three Mechanics
I really loved the dynamic in this short and totally understand why Alpha Kings was recommended. Lots of exhibitionism in this short and I really would have loved to read a longer story about these MCs. Went differently than I was expecting and really enjoyed that.
Recommend story:
Alpha Kings - I read it immediately after this story and really enjoyed it! 5⭐️!

The Breeding Facility
I had no idea where this short was going when I first started. Was a very futuristic short, wasn’t a huge fan of it but was an interesting idea.

Paris & Boone
I both enjoyed and didn’t enjoy this short. I absolutely loved that the Alpha gave up full control and did everything the omega demanded. Would absolutely read that more. However, there was a lot of humiliation in this which I’m just not a fan of so that took away from my enjoyment.

Levity - Not interested in reading.

Vampire Daddy
Overall I enjoyed this story. Wasn’t awesome but wasn’t bad either. Wasn’t a fan of how the rent boy kept getting high from the vampire feeding on him. Wanted more to it than that but overall not bad.

With a note like that to start you know you’re in for a treat. These 8 short stories are supremely erotic with emotions threaded through, blended with some epic dirty talk and a smorgasbord of k1nks to explore. They straddle a multitude of sub genres like contemporary, omegaverse, fantasy etc. I loved all of them and ended up reading them straight through without a break but my favourites were the Intern, What do Orcs Hunt and Paris and Boone. These are ideal to pick up if you’re looking for scorching hot stories for the weekend or spaced out between full length reads. Happy reading!

No rating and here's why:

I can't say I was impressed. A couple of the quickies were good, but I've read these books before (the full length books) so I didn't really like the short version, which was basically just the first chapter. The other short stories, which I hadn't read before, weren't really my thing. They're just too short to get into, I think. It just doesn't work for me.

But I think the concept of this book is nice for people who don't know if these types of stories are their thing. But other than that, I don't really see the point of this book.

Okay. I'll be the first to admit that this was on me. I didn't realise that this was mostly in the omegaverse. I thought it was going to have some of it with other bits interspersed, like MMM, sharing, vampires, etc (not also involving omegaverse). I didn't realise that they were (mostly) involved in the omegaverse overall otherwise I would not have picked this up. The way I read the summary/description at the end was clearly misunderstood on my part. I still overall enjoyed this (much more than anticipated with the above in mind) but... I would not have read this knowingly. Omegaverse is just something that I don't really enjoy especially since it's always about their "slick" and their "asshole leaking" and impregnating... Just not for me. So I apologize to the people looking at this review and being "well wtf did you read this?" Cuz yeah, I get it. Attests to Hovart's writing style, however, with how much I enjoyed some of these...

The Were - 3 Stars
Not big on the omegaverse in general but this was done pretty well. Didn't have the OTT juices and whatnot throughout. Not really interested in reading any further though.

Office Heat - 2 Stars
This one was definitely not up my alley. All the slick, lactation and then drinking from... Just not for me. The pregnancy...! It'd be more interested in the main characters if it was not in the omegaverse, lol. (Yes. Clearly I didn't pick it up for these.)

What Do the Orcs Hunt? - 2 Stars
Jarl kinda seemed like a bit of a jerk here to his friend, calling him slow and easy. Definitely not interested in reading the story this becomes especially after Jarl describing his experience with the orcs...

Intern - 2.5 Stars
Bratty and spanking isn't much for me but this was alright. Had a couple of sexy scenes and a bit of tension buildup already setup.

The Brat and the Three Mechanics - 3 Stars
Like I said, normally don't like bratty but think it was done pretty well here. Got the message across and Marcel's relationship with his father.

The Breeding Facility - 1.5 Stars
Almost interested in seeing more about this world and the research. If the relationship progresses, what consequences might happen. Buut not actually interested...

Paris & Boone - 3 Stars
First we get from the alpha's POV and was a nice change even though it was a submissive alpha, which maybe also why...? Nice pace.

Vampire Daddy - 3 Stars
Actually, turned pretty sweet. Wasn't sure it was going to go with it at first with Tyler being paid for in the beginning. I liked how it was cuz of Tyler's backstory of survival but, even though, he was still trying to figure out how to survive if things didn't work out, he decided he didn't need that. 

Liked this overall. Will be more careful with descriptors surrounding this author's works as I just don't prefer most of this. Completely on me. Couple of interesting words here though.

This collection of short erotic stories delivers exactly what it promises: heat, variety, and plenty of steamy moments!!

The author’s signature style shines through, blending delicious smut with creative dynamics that keep you hooked from start to finish. While some stories stood out more than others, the overall read was a major hit for me—playful, indulgent, and oh-so-satisfying.

Highlights I Can’t Stop Thinking About:

✔️ORCS! - Need I say more? I’ll never turn down a well-written orc encounter, and this one had me fully invested. Roe, you’ve outdone yourself here 😏.

✔️Vampire Daddy - I'm not usually a vampire fan, but the world-building in this one was chef’s kiss 🤌🏻. The story left me craving more so, consider me converted!

✔️Futuristic Fertility Clinic - Not a kink I expected to enjoy, but the unique setting and execution won me over. Who knew this would be such a standout?

If you’re looking for something short, spicy, and packed with diverse fantasies, this book is a fantastic choice. Just be sure to check content warnings beforehand (because trust me, things get intense).

Highly recommend for anyone who loves their smut with a side of creativity. Enjoy the treat... if you dare 😉🔥

Overall, this was a fun and easy read at only about 120 pages. The stories really are short, as they were originally written as monthly rewards on Roe's Patreon account. There were definitely some stories I'd love to read if Roe ever decides to expand them! Here are some of the highlights for me:

🧡 The Were: This was super fun and incredibly primal, told completely from the werewolf's point of view. I would love to see what happens when the omega is taken back to the wolf's pack.

🧡 What Do the Orcs Hunt? This was cool because it was told as a recollection of a monster gang bang. I would love to see what happens when a human is actually taken by an orc!

🧡 The Brat and the Three Mechanics: Another spicy read with lots of sharing and a delicious power exchange. I would love to see what happens the next day, but I enjoyed the implied happily ever after.

🧡 The Breeding Facility: This had futuristic vibes that were similar to Slithery Heat. I am super curious about the facility and the concept of the feral alphas.

🧡 Paris & Boone: This was another great exploration of power exchange, with the addition of humiliation and servicing. I loved the flipped dynamics with a dominant omega and his submissive alpha bodyguard who was just incredibly endearing.

🧡 Vampire Daddy: I think this urban paranormal story was my favourite in the collection! It had a Daddy/boy dynamic with a really sweet happily ever after for the two. If Roe has more vampire steam for us at any point, sign me up!

This book is like going to a high-end wine tasting. You walk in knowing you’re in for a treat—that you’ll get to sample some high-quality wine in small doses—and that you’ll probably walk out with a list of bottles you definitely plan to buy soon. You’re served a small glass of one kind of wine; when you’re finished, you get another, and so on. If you don’t like one, you don’t have to drink it. There’s no loss, since you have another seven glasses to enjoy—and besides, you tried something new. At the end, you can pick a bottle to take home—or not.

That’s exactly how this book of eight short stories feels. If you’re familiar with Roe’s work, you know what you’re walking into: high-quality writing, great characters, interesting stories, and lots of heat. And that’s exactly what you get. Roe hands you a “glass” of eight different kinds of his stories: omegaverse, fantasy, futuristic, contemporary, and even vampires. Each story is like a tasting glass—just long enough to give you a full sense of the story and the trope, but short enough to leave you wanting more. And just like at a wine tasting, Roe provides a list of his other books that share the same trope or world-building.

Each story has a proper ending—there are no cliffhangers despite their short length—and every one of them manages to develop both the characters and the plot.
If you’ve been on the fence about some of the tropes here—curious, but not sure you’d enjoy them enough to commit to a full book—this is a perfect opportunity to get a taste and decide whether they’re your cup of tea... or glass of wine.

Needless to say, trying something new guided by Roe Horvat guarantees flawless writing, well-developed characters, and a good story to go with that big dose of heat. So, if you’re looking to dive into something new, there’s no better way than by picking up these short stories. And if you’re already a fan—don’t miss it.

No one writes erotica quite like Roe Horvat, and this collection of erotic short stories was deliciously hot and steamy!

I loved the combination of filthy and sweet stories, and there were some emotional connections present as well, alongside the insta-lust and, in some cases, the urgency of heats. All of them were HFN, and I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed that I'll get to see more of some of these characters. My favourite were: What Do the Orcs Hunt, The Intern, and The Brat and the Three Mechanics.

I liked these small glimpses into universes and characters, some of which already got turned into their own novellas or novels. The mix of omegaverse, contemporary and paranormal was great, and there was also a wide variety of different pairings, kinks and dynamics within the collection.

Quickies delivered exactly what it promised: eight erotic treats, and it's the perfect read for when you want something quick and steamy!

This is a collection of short “stories “ with a high-heat basis. They all hint at a hea in the future although some have more plot than others. They are very much in the grain of the author but don’t have the character development that you normally get from their stories. For me, it was that which dropped the collection's rating down. They are novellas and they do give each story's characters more development than you get in erotica. I missed the connection that you get in the longer stories, though.

My favorite was The Intern as in this you felt like the characters went through a story arc; the attraction is there and you feel like Oliver is equally involved as the boss/intern dynamic develops. I’d like to see more of Vampire Daddy, it felt like a happy for now and that there was more to come in this story. Paris and Boone again felt more complete and I liked the change in dynamics between the Alpha bodyguard and Omega boss.

Overall, all quick bites were great but left me feeling hungry for more.

Quickies: Erotic Short Stories is a collection of eight stories told in both third and first person.

This collection includes a wide range of fantasy and paranormal genre stories. They’re all quite different from each other. Some read like preludes to a follow up book, others read like they’re alternate or deleted scenes. At the end of each story a suggestion is given of a similar book to the short story.

These stories were all extremely quick to read, and work well if you don’t have a lot of time to submerge yourself into a lengthy story. Most end in a HFN, although the ogre story was like a cliffhanger. For me personally, I would’ve liked them to be slightly longer with a more definite ending.

I enjoyed the plots and the characters and can recommend this book as fast and easy entertainment. I give Quickies: Erotic Short Stories, 4 Stars.

Quickies by Roe Horvat is exactly what is suggested by the title: a collection of erotic, sex-focused, short stories. There are eight stories within 118 pages, so these are short little treats, rather than fully developed stories. Many are just an extended sex scene, though others do have a little more to them. However, the focus is less on character development, world building, or plot, and more on the high-heat connection between the characters. In fact, in many stories we don’t even learn the characters’ names. The stories cover a range of kinks and sexual interests, with many set in an omegaverse world.

This is a collection of 8 short stories that follow all different variations in Omegaverse. I honestly could have read 100 pages on each of them without blinking an eye. Every time I reached the end of one I was just like WAIT I NEED MORE! We have office Romances we have some Orcs and Vamps we even got some MMM with dirty mechanics 😏
These are instant spice stories where we are jumping right into the thick of it but Roe just has a way of connecting you to the characters easily so your instantly hooked! Loved every second of this collection 😍

There’s a little bit of everything, 8 quick, hot-as-hell reads with something to sate every naughty appetite: werewolves, omegas, boss/employee, mpreg, orc fantasies (or are they true?), posh boy getting 3-on-1 with some rough mechanics, breeding, servitude and vampires. I love everything Roe writes and would be utterly thrilled if all of these turned into full length books at some point, but equally, they are bite size delights just as they are.
