Great follow up to Life in a Mid-Shot; covers much the same material but formatted more cleanly with examples in the recent time period. Many acting "books" and coaches refer to the classic plays and iconic films but you get to see concepts overlayed and drawn with current television series and films to look back on. That in itself is refreshing. No hate toward Death of a Salesman or The Godfather but to see the diagnostics applied to Succession, This Is Us or The Holdovers... thank you. Mr. Chantery provides 50 tools... that can be a bit overwhelming but as he states "they are just tools." It's super helpful to open mindset or remind actors to elevate and have fun when being given a chance to self-tape/audition. Strong work.
