Rafe: Touring the coast of Australia on my brother’s yacht is a dream come true for my first gig as a professional photographer. Only, this dream could end up a nightmare since I’m forced to travel with my one and only enemy: Captain George Bernard. Our animosity isn’t new, and neither is my curiosity about the man who keeps to himself.
Until the unthinkable happens. I’m falling for the one person I never expected.
George: As a charter captain, I’ve traveled the globe and always call the sea my home. At forty-nine, I’ve resigned myself to a life lived alone. Until the irreverent Rafe Carter steps aboard my ship. I’m flustered by the man and his manner, and now the sailing is anything but smooth. But as I finally get to know Rafe, a different kind of tension builds between us. And the more I know, the harder I fall.
But both of us are wanderers. Is Rafe going to walk off my ship and out of my life for good?
The Cockpit is an enemies to lovers, age gap, demi rep, MM romance filled with surprising confessions, possessive chemistry, and a HEA that will leave you breathless. This is Book Three of the Voyagers’ series: everyone who boards the superyacht Now, Voyager is about to meet their match!
Too romantic but I am not complaining. These mcs know how to communicate their feelings and are not afraid to be vulnerable around each other. I skipped Book 2 and I will probably skip Book 4. This was so so cute.
Oh, I was so looking forward to this story, enemies-to-lovers is my favorite. And I was thrilled by this story it didn’t disappoint on any front.
We met the main characters already in the previous stories of this awesome series. So we know George, forty-nine, the captain of the yacht ‘Now, Voyager’, and Rafe is the thirty-three years brother of the owner, Rafe the model, who’s also a photographer, traveling the world, they can’t stand each other.
They have to avoid each other as much as possible for the next two months. While George is rude towards Rafe, Rafe can’t deny the man is a beautiful silver fox.
“Could I actually die of embarrassment? I was about to test the theory.”
There’s a lot of tension, a lot of unreasonable arguments, avoiding, until George has to make it up and let his screw send an invitation to Rafe for dinner with the captain. That’s the turning point.
George is demi, and needs connection before intimacy, when talking about sex he talks about lovemaking, while in Rafe’s dictionary, there’s only a quick fuck, hand or blow job, hearing George talk like that does the strangest things to Rafe’s heart.
Rafe is questioning himself, he never experienced romance. George loves old-fashion romantic gestures and doesn’t hesitate to show off. What a vision. He’s so amazing, helpful, attentive, and protective, showing Rafe is his. Luckily he has his flaws or else it wouldn’t be fun, now would it? There’s something beautiful growing between them, something precious.
Gosh, what a delightful story, it was everything I hoped for. It started rocky, but oh boy did that change. George and Rafe’s characters are more than nicely developed, with every page I loved them more. Their HEA was breathtaking! The writing was exquisite, I can’t find a thing that could go better or that I wanted different. A winner for sure, I’m so looking forward to the next of this series.
4.5 stars. When I found out this book was about Rafe and George I wasn’t super excited about it as I wasn’t very interested in their characters from reading about them in book 1 and 2. But I wanted to read the series in order and I’m happy to say I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.
Rafe and George ended up being an interesting couple. Once they stopped fighting with each other and started to get to know each other I really connected with their story. I loved how romantic George was and how they both just went all in.
There were a few things I didn’t really like but overall this was another awesome story in the series and I’m so glad I liked it. I can’t wait to read book 4 (and the Christmas novella as we know who both characters are now)!
The Cockpit is the third entry in Ava Olsen’s Voyagers series, a set of books taking place on Rafe’s brother Rowan’s yacht, and can be read as a standalone. While Rowan and Andrew make a cameo, it’s very brief, and Rowan is there as Rafe’s big brother, not to interfere in the plot.
Rafe is a beautiful man who has always known his looks are what gets him what he wants. He grew up fairly well off, and money’s never been an issue for him. The next big thing, however, has always been a distraction. Recently, Rafe has been diagnosed with ADHD, which explains his hyperfocus, his distraction, and even his restlessness. He’s currently on medication that allows him to find a calm focus and feel more comfortable in his own skin. This has, in part, allowed him to look at George less as something in his way and instead as someone in his own right.
I tried to like this, I really did but I just couldn’t. I finished it out of pure determination. I didn’t like the main MCs, I was actually more interested in Willem and Nial’s romance.
BUT WHAT DROVE ME CRAZY? The OVERUSE or ‘murmur’ and ‘quip ‘ It was like the dialogue was being cycled through said, murmured and quipped. How are they murmuring from across the boat ???? Why was it used in over other phrase 🙈 Overusing things removes the impact from when it’s actually used correctly, I was literally rolling my eyes whenever it was used and my eyes got a work out through this story. 😵💫
My ratings always reflect my enjoyment of the story. ❀
Rafe & George have been two characters that I wanted to see get their HEA and I was not disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed their story and I can't wait for book four now.
I FREAKING LOVED THIS!!! Come on!!! I knew this was going to be good. I was itching to get my hands on this one the minute we learned that George and Rafe had that wonderful frenemy's vibe and argued like it was their second job in Oh Buoy. George is the sexy silver fox captain of Now, Voyageur and Rafe is the successful world-famous model turned photographer brother of Rowan, who is conveniently a long-term guest on his brother's massive yacht to make his dreams of becoming the best photographer come to life. It's all sunshine, open water, attractive half naked or at times completely nude models, with Rafe and George having to learn to co-exist without biting each other's heads off. The detail, the pacing, the chemistry, and the ending, all WORKED PERFECT! Ava Olsen totally nailed this one!
I have to say this has been my favorite in the series. I love an age gap and love frenemies to lovers and man did Rafe and George know how to work each other. OMG basically the minute this book starts you see these guys going head-to-head; George laying down the law of his ship and Rafe making it known he won't be pushed around or judged. We got a taste of these two in the first book and like I said I was so looking forward to reading their love story. I just loved how they both know they are attracted to the other but don't want to risk either man upsetting Rowan, the boss and the brother, and so they try the friend thing once George swallows his pride and once Rafe eases up on the sass a bit. Both had reasons to be on guard. But they could not stop this wave of obsession and true love that hit them hard and fast.
I really loved their connection and relationship build. Ava gave us it all, the bantering, the growing trust and friendship, the candlelit deck dates, and then the all-consuming desire and love. I could not really think of one thing I was missing, and for me that's a major win. Such quality storytelling. Although, I was seriously NOT prepared for George and his possessive dirty talk. OMG I felt like I was constantly dropping my jaw and squealing when he surprised and turned me on LOL I loved how forward Rafe was and how he pushed George to take that final leap. They wanted each other, period. The little bit of sneaking around in the beginning was cute and the constant meddling of the friends and crew members was perfect. But back to the dirty talk...haha no, but seriously, their first time together was MAJOR and then all the times that followed they just consumed the pages. I really love these two together and can' wait to see cameos of them in the coming book(s). Their happy ending was SO DANG sweet! And we even got a little bit of action out on the ocean!
I feel like Ava has grown a lot in this series. I have loved all the Voyagers books but for some reason this one just felt like the winner...so far...I mean Ava is giving us something I really REALLY love in MM romance coming in the next book. I WANT IT NOW! And I feel like she planted some plot bunnies for Georgie's sailor buddies! I really, really hope so! If you have not read this series, you definatly need to. You will feel like you're on vacation every minute and you will feel the love, hard!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book provided by Gay Romance Reviews.
I loved Rowan and Andrew, then Dylan and Max, but George and Rafe were bloody brilliant. I was not expecting either of them to be the way they turned out to be, from what we already knew of each of them and also from their sniping at each other. Yes, you could read the bickering as sexual tension but that didn't give you any hint of the love story that unfolds here. Forced proximity on Rowan's yacht gave George and Rafe the opportunity to get to know the person behind the mask, if only the older flustered captain could stop putting his foot in it every time he spoke to Rafe. The younger supermodel turned photographer was equally irritated and turned on by the silver fox who pushed all his buttons, good and bad. Once George invited Rafe to talk and make peace over dinner, misconceptions were cleared up, confidences were shared, hours passed in the blink of an eye, and deeply-buried attraction suddenly surfaced, bubbling over between them. George turned out to be the most romantic man I've read about, possibly ever. His words, his actions, his absolute love of Rafe was wonderful. Everyone deserves to have a George as their partner. Rafe surprised me too. Having never had a relationship nor anyone really care about him, it wasn't a given that he would want the kind of love George lavished on him. But... he swooned at George's wooing (and that's what it was, even when they were becoming established) and appreciated every little gesture, all of George's care and attention and love. Both men were possessive, always gravitating to each other, constantly touching and not afraid of public affection. They were also fiercely jealous, which was quite hot in this case, and was completely in character. Talking of hot... between the sheets and everywhere else, they were absolutely on fire. Having actually known each other (and kept feelings buried so deep) for two years, there was a lot of teenage humping for a short while before they went any further. I found the quick pace of their relationship believable, in respect of George's demisexuality, because of their history. This was hands down, one of the most romantic of romances and I couldn't get enough of them. I'm looking forward to seeing all three couples in Endeavor, which is only two months away but I'm hopping up and down with anticipation already. I so badly want to see Jared, Aiden and Alex find love with each other.
George and Rafe's romance was such an entertaining and swoony read, and I really enjoyed immersing myself in their journey. I had a feeling from the previous books in this series that Rafe and George's constant clashes were hiding some unresolved sexual tension, and I've never been so happy to be proven right. George, Mr. Competent Captain who always had a plan, was adorably awkward and fumbling around Rafe, which more often than not seemed to be the cause of their arguments. It took several attempts for him to get out of his own way and communicate clearly with Rafe, and once he did things snapped into place effortlessly. Their shared interests and passionate discussions fueled a connection that I could see growing deeper every day. They didn't rush to get physical, and I didn't mind at all because it gave me the chance to soak up all the delightful intimacy of the early stages of their relationship. George turned out to be such a romantic lover, and I can't even count the number of times he made me swoon with a sweet gesture, handwritten note, or thoughtfully planned experience for him and Rafe. The honeymoon stage of their romance burned so hot and bright, and I absolutely loved being treated to many long, relaxing days of lovemaking and conversations. When the real world started to intrude on their bubble, Rafe and George did have to deal with some lingering insecurities and complications from their pasts, but they never stopped being open and honest with each other. Even when their work seemed to be pulling them into different continents, I had faith they'd find a way to balance it out because of how devoted they were to each other. It did take some creativity, but it was so sweet to watch George and Rafe enter the next stage of their lives happily settled, in love, and with a home base that would allow them to build a family and pursue their careers.
**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
Finally Rafe and Captain George's story. I have been waiting to see how this story would play out and how their relationship would come together and together they are pure magic. The Cockpit by Ava Olsen is the third book in the Voyagers series. These two men have been having explosive fights since the first book in the series and to see them finally get their heads on straight and out of their behinds was so worth the wait. The chemistry and the buildup of them finally coming together, showed the reader to never judge a book by its cover. It's better to get to know them first before passing judgment.
Captain George always thought Rafe was superficial and used his looks to get by. He didn't realize there's a truly amazing man underneath all his beauty. Captain George works for Rafe's brother Andrew as the Captain of his yacht, while Rafe is a former super model turned photographer who's come on the yacht to photograph models for his first photography job. At first, they stay away from each other, but when they finally have their last blow up, the Captain feels bad and decides to invite Rafe to dinner. When they finally sit down to talk, it's obvious that all that pent-up anger was just because they didn't know each other. From that moment on, they were inseperable. It was a beautiful thing to see their relationship flourish and see them finally come together.
This entire series is so worth reading and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of the enemies to lovers trope. Reading the series in its entirety is recommended because the other characters in the series play a part in the lives of Rafe and Captain George.
I received this ARC for my honest opinion from Gay Romance Reviews.
"I want you to know, in every way, how much I love you. I want you to see it in my eyes and hear it in my voice and taste it on my lips. Because loving you and being loved by you is the greatest gift I’ve ever been given."
The Cockpit by Ava Olsen is the third book in the linked standalone Voyagers series. This is George and Rafe's story and what a total swoonfest it is!
We first met Rafe and George in Oh Buoy, with Rafe being Rowan's younger, (model) brother, with a sharp tongue and a taste for fun, and of course George is the older Captain of Rowan's luxury yacht/boat/cruiser. Whilst The Cockpit can be read as a standalone, you'll get much more out of the relationship and how it develops if you have the backstory from the previous books in the series.
The Cockpit is an easy read; it's a low angst, steamy, age gap love-fest, with an enemies (but not really) to lovers vibe to start, and a demisexual MC. And of course it has the happiest of HEAs!
This book was such an unexpectedly romantic read. I know, how unusual for a romance, right? But based on the tension and heat we saw between Rafe and Captain George in the previous books, I thought there would be a lot more verbal fights, bickering, and hate-kissing. What we got, however, was a beautiful demi representation and a wonderful story of how to properly woo someone. While Rafe is transitioning from modeling to working behind the lens, he stays on his brother’s yacht (now possibly cursed by the love bug). His old nemesis, Captain George has no choice but to put up with Rafe and his brand of crazy. It was an absolute pleasure to watch Rafe and George finally act like adults and sit down for a grown-up talk. From that magical evening on, their chemistry was off the chart and I couldn’t wait to see how fast they’d fall. Even though Rafe was wanted by so many men while being on top of his modeling career, he never has been courted by anyone. And our dear Captain, who had a failed relationship before, never thought he could keep loving the sea and a man at the same time. I enjoyed learning about these two, both carrying insecurities and questioning their future. I was truly charmed alongside Rafe by all the small, incredibly kind gestures George was coming up with. And while the book also has fantastic steam, this couple didn’t rush to get physical before they get to really know each other. It was a good thing, too, because once their little bubble of happiness burst, that became the real test of their new relationship. Again, an excellent book in the series, I really cannot wait for the next installment. I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.
Rafe is a former model turned photographer, in Australia with five models on his brother’s yacht for his first professional swimwear shoot. Everything is perfect — gorgeous models, beautiful beaches, blue water, clear skies, everything except the ship’s captain, George. Ever since their first meeting two years ago, the two have barely been civil to each other, seldom even able to speak together without one or the other leaving in a huff. Miscommunication is the keystone of their relationship, until one evening George sends a message to Rafe requesting they have dinner together — alone. Rafe agrees, and the two men finally talk, learn more about each other, and realize there is actually a strong attraction between them. Both men had previously believed that love wasn’t for them, but the feelings quickly grow into love. All is not perfect, however, as challenges remain: family; ex lovers; times apart due to their jobs and work schedules; dangers inherent in ocean travel; and the age gap. As they confront these challenges, they are determined to find ways to deal with them to reach their HEA.
Two men wanting to find a life partner, but not really believing it is meant for them, lazy days on shipboard and sandy beaches, hot nights discovering each other, and unexpected potentially dangerous challenges to the relationship make for an interesting read to get to a satisfactory ending. Supporting characters from previous books play their parts, as well as new ones in line for the next installment.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐢𝐭 by Ava Olsen, the third book in the Voyagers series, is Rafe and George's story.
George and Rafe have butted heads since they met but when they are stuck together on Now, Voyager, Rafe's brother's superyacht, for two months together the lines between hate and love start to blur and they realize that the last two years was a build-up to something epic.
George and Rafe's story is everything I hoped it would be and more. Their banter is spot on and the best type of foreplay, which leads to undeniable chemistry between them. I love how romantic George became once he finally opened up fully to Rafe.
I love the Voyagers series and can not wait for more from this world.
Get ready for... mm, age gap, enemies, demi rep, slow burn, military, and dual first-person pov.

THE COCKPIT is the third book in the Voyagers series and it is now time for the twosome who can't stop bickering to get their HEA. Yep, I'm talking about the Captain and Rafe. They have appeared in the previous two books, arguing whenever they're in the same room, but now, they're on a trip around Australia with no one else there to buffer them.
This was a great addition to the series and I'm glad I got to see their previous interactions too as, once they got together, it was glossed over a little. It does go to show how you can be mistaken about someone and just need the space and time to have the chance to get to know them. Of course, it doesn't always work, but in their case, it did.
I enjoyed this book and am glad that Rafe likes someone possessive as George certainly fits that description. I also liked that they had so much in common, once they got past the hostilities, and that is, in part, what made their relationship work so well. I also loved how romantic George was!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait for Jared's. I liked Rafe and George, but Dylan and Max are still my favourites. ** same worded review will appear elsewhere **

After reading the first book and getting a glimpse of Captain George and Rafe, I have been waiting for their book. The tension in those scenes was off the charts and their book did not disappoint. Was I expecting Captain George to be this swoony romantic silver fox? Absolutely not but I am 100 percent here for it! He’s set a bar for all future book boyfriends because if they aren’t leaving love notes in your suitcase and roses with your toast, they are definitely no Captain George.
Seeing these two characters go from battling cats to an HEA was a fun read-from trying to deny attraction to getting to know one another, it truly had me sitting with a grin on my face. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes to read cause I love that a-ha moment of realization for the characters.
I enjoy the plot twists that come up in the book as it gives another layer for the storyline and adds something to the mix for these characters. Not enough to make them squirm and up the angst too high but just the right amount that adds that intrigue. It makes you think how will these two characters deal with the real world once the magic of the love yacht wears off.
I can’t wait for the next book and what the author cooks up for those characters. This series is the perfect summer reading - fun and easy reads with good characters and low angst. Easy to imagine all the yacht antics while relaxing by the pool in the sun!
Gotta love all these books that make me want to travel! George is captain of the super yacht, "Now, Voyager," working for billionaire Rowan Carter. He loves everything about his job, except when Rowan's younger brother Rafe comes aboard. The model-turned-photographer and George butt heads from the beginning, bickering and judging each other. Rafe is using the yacht for his first big assignment, taking photos of models around Australia. Which means, George and Rafe are stuck together for weeks.
Rowan asks George to keep an eye on Rafe, and George tries to set things right, but he always ends up with his foot in his mouth when it comes to the gorgeous blond that's 16 years younger than him. Eventually, these two open up to each other and they both realize they were wrong with their snap judgments. Then, it's a battle of wills as they try to stay away from each other, but they soon realize it's not worth fighting.
🔥: So much steam! The buildup between these two is so exciting. Their scenes are slow to medium-paced with graphic details and lots of passion. 😆: Cute laughs along the way as these two go from enemies to lovers and shock (almost) everyone. 😭: I welled up a bit reading this one, especially during a couple suspenseful moments. Also, George is romantic AF!
This series is such a good time. It gives me wanderlust! So much romance on one ship! Maybe I should go on more cruises...
I’ve been anticipating The Cockpit the most in this series. Ever since the infamous blow-up Rafe and the Captain had during a family dinner, I knew I would love these two falling in love. George is ex-Navy, living the dream of working on the water, but also living with the cruel words of his ex-boyfriend in his head. He’s years older than Rafe (read sexy silver fox!). A model turned photographer. He’s constantly misjudged because of his career and good looks.
They can’t seem to have a simple conversation without it ending in yelling and storming off. But it’ll be a long couple of months if they can’t find a way to get along. Thankfully they are both willing to try. So one dinner, aided by some meddling crew, leads to seeing the other in a new light.
This fiery duo is in fact two of the sweetest (and possessive) men to ever set sail. I adored them and their mushiness. And I loved how they found a balance of making each other a priority without giving up their dreams.
The time I spent with Rafe and George onboard of a luxurious yacht in southern Australia was nothing short of amazing. I felt like I went on vacation - skimpy swimsuits, turquoise waters, beautiful islands, romantic sunsets definitely set the holiday mood 😎
Rafe is a former model who is trying to establish his career as a photographer. His older brother is letting him use his yacht for a photoshoot, but it comes with a quiet mysterious older captain who seems to get on Rafe’s nerves even when he doesn’t say a word. A few weeks spent together in an enclosed space were bound to make them dislike each other even more, only instead they chose to get to know one another a little bit more…
Because one of the characters is demisexual there is no immediate jumping into bed, just slow and steady courting. Single roses, hand-written notes, dinners at sunset and long conversations. And you might think I’m silly for pointing it out but there’s lots of tea. Tea not coffee. As a tea lover I couldn’t help but notice that little feature, and it put a smile on my face.
Very wholesome story with great approach to relationships. Rafe’s big brother impressed me so much that I have to come back to his story now in book one of the series.
Rafe and George clashed hard when we first met them in book 1, and at first it seems like there’s no end in sight here as they continue to needle one another or epically misspeak. I loved the way the whole crew worked together to set the two of them up and give them a chance together. It was lovely to watch the deepening understanding and feelings as they actually took the time to get to know one another (and admit where a lot do that former tension was coming from, lol). I appreciated the demi rep and the reminder that there’s many different ways to be in a relationship and fall in love.
I liked the whole group of side characters, George’s romantic gestures, the diving together, Rowan’s overprotectiveness and Andrew reining him in, and a whole set of friends to step in when an outside force threatened.
It made me really happy that the future they forged didn’t require either of them to give up what they loved. (Actual compromise! Yay!) I loved the home they made in Tortola and their plans for the future.
Can’t wait to see what happens with Jared and Alex and Aiden!
I received an ARC from GRR. This is my honest review.
3.5 stars. I was so excited for this enemies to lovers story. It was incredibly sweet and romantic once they got there and figured out their attraction. This is one of my favorite tropes. But, to be frank, I wasn’t crazy about this addition to the series. The writing was off, the story was a bit “meh”. I can’t put my finger on what exactly was off, but this was a far cry from how good the first two books were. I did enjoy the characters, main and secondary, also the banter and the scenery. The drama was good, not too crazy with a couple of over the top moments. Despite all this, I’m very excited for the next book of the series, especially the MMM element of it!
Side note: the main thing that threw me off was the misuse of descriptive words. Murmured was used far far too much and not always in the proper way. Another example was when one of the main characters “announced” something in a restaurant that normally would’ve been said quietly and secretively. That was just to name a couple. But, I did receive this as an ARC, so I don’t know if any of those issues were solved before the final send out.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
3.5 stars. I really liked both Rafe and George and I love them together. George is the captain of the luxury yacht owned by Rafe’s brother Rowan, who is a billionaire. Rafe is spending time on the yacht working. He’s an ex-model turned photographer, and he’s invited a group of models on the yacht so they can navigate around Australia for a few weeks and take photos around Australia’s beautiful coast and islands. Rafe and George knew each other from a previous voyage, and their previous encounter had them arguing and hating each other. But in this book, they decide to get to know each other without judgement, and they end up falling in love on the yacht. The descriptions of Australia were lovely, they made me want to go there and visit. I loved having Rowan show up, he’s one of my favorite characters and I remember that enjoyed reading his story, which is the first book in the series. George and Rafe face some trouble with George’s ex Aldo, which is quickly resolved. They also face extreme weather and an accident with another boat, but all of this is quickly resolved too. I loved that Rafe’s family was supportive of his relationship with George
This went from a tense enemies to lovers scenario to a sweet romance between two people with similar lifestyles and ambitions. George is most at home on the sea, and Rafe is used to pursuing his career, once modeling, now photography.
It was a pleasant "lifestyles of the rich and famous" read, complete with a luxury yacht and beautiful locations along Australia's coral reefs. The book briefly touches on demisexuality, and Rafe abandons his past behavior to "take it slow" with George, although ironically, their relationship speeds along quite fine despite this. It would have been nice to have a few more full blown scenes in this section, to show them get to know each other, rather than summarizing that it happened. To me the last half of the novel was way too smooth, given both of their past experiences. Aside from external threats, the relationship went swimmingly, and all the challenges forecast in the beginning were swept aside. In fact, the last few chapters read like one giant epilogue.
I knew that George and Rafe's story is going to be epic! And I am so glad that it truly is. The banter, awkwardness and finally the friendship and development into something so much more was just beautiful to read through.
Once George and Rafe cleared out a few items on why the antagonism and arguments happened, things started to clear up and their mutual attraction surfaced. I knew that deep down and under those various arguments is an attraction that both tried to bury and deny. But being in a close environment, one can't help but see each other often. It is a good thing as well so that they could finally get over themselves and become friends, for a start. You will love the development of their relationship, love the way George woo Rafe and how each gravitate towards each other every time. You will love how they finally show how they feel, and not be afraid to show others that they do.
Ms. Ava Olsen, I love this series so much, I hope that we can see more of the guys soon! Congratulations once again on a well-written series, loving it so much!
✅Enemies to Lovers ✅Age Gap ✅Sexy Shenanigans ✅Swoon Worthy Romance 🌹
Going into this book I knew that the chemistry was going to be insanely hot just by the way these two have danced around each other in the previous books. Ava Olsen did not disappoint with this story, what I did not expect is George to be the most romantic & sexiest silver fox in existence 🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥. He turned out to be everything Rafe needed but never realized he could find. Rafe in turn was all the color George was missing in his otherwise gray world. I Freaking Loved these two together, the relationship development was on point, sexy times were fire and the sweetness will absolutely leave you warm and cozy. I love this series, it's actually one of my favorite series ever! I cannot wait to see what comes next with our quirky director, his bodyguard and the snarky attorney. It going to be epic !!!!
* I received an ARC from GRR, this is my open and honest review *
I can 1000% say George is so swoon worthy and everyone needs a George in their life.
This book has been building up as George and Rafe have been enemies. More so because they never got to know each other and just made assumptions. They are super possessive of each other and have a little age gap. All of these traits ticked all of the boxes for me.
They finally get it together when George takes the step to get to know Rafe and find they very much have stuff in common and after that “date”, they jump head first into spending all free time together and feelings growing deeper and deeper.
They had supper hot chemistry together and only want to make the other happy and build a future together. See what communication can do, it can find you your happily ever after.
I was excited to see this enemies-to-lovers story after seeing Rafe and George's interactions in book one. The romance in this book did not disappoint at all.
We already know that George is the uptight captain of Now, Voyager, and Rafe is Rowan's younger brother, a model turned photographer. In book one, we learn that they can't stand each other after an argument they had at Christmas dinner.
Rafe is using Now, Voyager, for a photo shoot and wants to avoid George as much as possible for the next two months. While they are rude to each other, they both can't deny that the other person is attractive.
They have a lot of tension and can't help but be at each other's throats at first. George takes the step to apologize to Rafe by having the crew arrange dinner for them. During the dinner, they are surprised because they get along and have a great night together, which is a turning point for them.
George is demi, so he needs connection before intimacy, which took him a long time to come to terms with. When talking about sex, George refers to it as lovemaking, while Rafe has always been about a quick fuck without emotional attachments.
Rafe has never experienced romance, and George loves old-fashioned romantic gestures, which catches Rafe a bit off guard. As the story progresses, we see George being attentive, helpful, and protective, showing Rafe that he is his. We see something beautiful growing between them.
The story started rocky because of George and Rafe's history but quickly became a romance. George and Rafe's characters are developed well and were endearing. I loved their HEA, which was well worth the wait.

I had high hopes for drama and fireworks in The Cockpit, and we get them, but not in the ways one would expect and it was a lovely and refreshing turn... while you could read this book as standalone, I think you really need the first two books in the series to lay the background for the enemies to lovers vibe and to understand just how everyone else viewed what was happening between Rafe and George... because I think you'd miss so much just starting with this book...
That being said, I absolutely loved George as a character, with his hopes and fears and I loved that Rafe was confident in who he is now and what he wants for the future... I also appreciated the way these two characters communicated with each other and what they were able to share with each other... as they explored their assumptions and truths with each other...
I want a vacation on a yacht! George, former Navy officer is now a Charter Captain. The sea is his life. He's traveled all over the world and prefers the seat to land. Rafe, gave up modeling and took up the camera. His first job, is touring the Australian coast aboard his brother, Rowan's yacht, Captained by George. They have a bit of a fractious histor even though they don't really know each other well. Aboard the yacht, that is amended. As they get to know the real man, their perceptions change and add complications. Their story is sweet, fun and hot. Good flow, great descriptions. Getting to know the real man after getting glimpses in previous stories is satisfying. All stories in the series are top notch. The cover art is sweet! Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
We met Rafe and George in the two previous books and it became clear that these two aren't enemies, they just misunderstand each other.
This is a very slow burn romance. It takes a while for both to realise that they actually like each other and then even longer before anything really happens.
I like the setting, the yacht, this time cruising around Australia, Rafe actually not the empty headed model but a guy with lots of depth.
What brings it down for me is that Rafe become quite needy and emotional, a bit too much for me.
George - when he commits himself to Rafe - is quite a possessive guy with still a lot of self-doubt. I like his romantic side.
