Voyagers #4.5

Nauti or Nice

Rate this book
Being a first officer on board the superyacht Now, Voyager is a dream come true. And my personal life? I’m in and out and on to the next port, so to speak. I don’t have the inclination for a boyfriend. So when my boss asks me to work over the Christmas holiday, I’m happy to say yes.
And then Kiernan Doyle arrives.
The Irish bodyguard is a brawny grump with sad eyes and a shy smile. And I’m a sucker for a tough guy with a big…heart. Only, I’m pretty sure Kiernan told me he’s straight and I’ve been down that road before, falling for a man who can’t return my feelings. But I won’t deny that something is building between us.
And once we get under that mistletoe, I know. Christmas, and my life, will never be the same. I’m a former MMA fighter turned bodyguard and while the fight money was great, my body knew it was time to leave. And being a bodyguard has its perks. Guarding billionaire Rowan Carter, and his husband Andrew is hardly work at all. His entourage of friends and family have become my friends too.
Including Charlie Cates, the First Officer on Rowan’s yacht.
Charlie’s not intimidated by my size or my grumpy demeanor. He’s the first person in years that I feel any kind of connection to. And I don’t know if it’s me or the mistletoe, but suddenly, I’m having naughty thoughts about the cute yachtie with killer dimples. Thoughts I’ve never had about a man before.
It turns out, all I want for Christmas, all I want always, is…Charlie. Nauti or Nice is a friends to lovers, bisexual awakening, MM romance filled with first times, found family, and a HEA that will warm your Christmas spirit.

What a marvelous story. Such a great addition to the series!

We got our big bodyguard Kieran and first officer of ‘Now, Voyager’ Charlie.
When they locked eyes there was already something. A friendship was born. As far as Charlie knows Kieran is straight, no hook up with him.
Kieran is questioning himself, about all these feelings he has for Charlie.

Oh, sweet Kieran what are you doing to yourself? Give yourself to Charlie and then return back to be friends, because yeah Charlie can’t offer more.
My heart, Kieran was irresistible, he’s a snuggler!

Charlie was a done-and-run guy, but Kieran was for him a different territory. All those feelings he wasn’t used to having, Kieran the huge grumpy bodyguard was soft and pliant in Charlie’s hands.

My goodness, they were everything! Watch them. It was awesome how their relationship navigates through all the fuss on board. Work and pleasure! We meet all the other fantastic people from the previous stories

This author is so good at writing intense moments, hot, romantic, emotional, chemistry and desperation, hard need, coming from somewhere deep down. It was everything!
The whole series is so well developed and super enjoyable and this one was just as amazing!
A recommendation worthy!!

I’ve read all the books in this series and this one is my favourite (right up there with book 1)! I loved every single second of this book. We had sweetness, we had a bit of angst, we had incredible sexy times (in itty bitty places) and it was just such an incredible story! It wasn’t like your typical Christmas novel as the holiday wasn’t a big part of the story so I would recommend this story year round!

With short novellas like this I always like when there is a little bit of back story for the characters as it helps the relationship to not feel rushed. Charlie has been in the series since book 1 and we were introduced to Kiernan in book 3 so we’ve seen them around and together a bit before this book. I love when the characters are friends before hand and then are intimate as the chemistry and spark is excellent, and they absolutely were in this case.

I loved both Charlie and Kiernan. How they connected and how compatible they were together. Their HEA was perfect and I’m so glad it was able to work out for them. If you are looking for an awesome series about a group of men finding love on a yacht I absolutely recommend this series!

A Christmas novella to round up this series? Yes and please! Charlie and Kieran are the sweetest friends to lovers and the next couple to fall in love on the “love boat”. It’s short and sweet with zero angst, and filled with cameos from all the past couples and throuple as they spend the holidays sailing away in the sunshine. This series has really felt like a big bundle of found family love and honestly it couldn’t have finished with anything sweeter. There is swoon, banter and a very saucy dance to ‘Santa Baby’ featuring a lot of the men we’ve come to love from Voyagers.

This was such a good book!
I love Kieran and the introductions we got to him earlier in the series so for him to get his own HEA is just amazing!
I love Charlie so much his attitude and positive vibes are so infectious even through the page!

These two together are perfect! The way they come together and then fall in love fits perfectly with the history of everyone falling in love on the yacht in this series!

I’m so thankful I was able to ARC read this book! It’s a perfect cute friend for the holiday season!

A FANTASTIC Ending to a Great Series!

I've loved every story and couple in this series. Getting to know Charlie and Kiernan and watching their relationship grow was wonderful. They were in the background for the entire series and now my questions have been answered.

I wish I could spend some time sailing on Now, Voyager.

I highly recommend this series. It was a great escape over the last few months with low angst and characters who were as different as night and day but this found family worked.

The entire Voyagers series is sweet and low angst, and this Christmas novella addition is no different. Charlie and Kier are so sweet it hurts, and I was so excited for their HEA.

I loved Kier and Charlie from their appearances in other books in the series and one of my favorite things about this book was getting updates on the other couples as everyone comes together on the ship for Christmas.

I did struggle a bit with Charlie at the beginning of the story. The narrative timeline spans several months, starting with the time Charlie and Kier first become friends. Charlie came off as a bit of a playboy at first and his actions at the beginning while trying to protect himself and his heart hurt Kiernan. I was frustrated with Charlie because he knew what he was doing and how sensitive Kiernan was, but behaved that way anyway instead of being honest about his feelings and why he needed some emotional distance. He did apologize, and Kiernan being the sweet golden retriever of a man he is, forgave him quickly, and they were able to move on.

Once these two finally communicated their feelings for each other, the story took off and Charlie was exactly what Kiernan needed to really come into himself. My heart ached for Kiernan and how he struggled to see his own self-worth. Charlie turned out to be the perfect man to help Kiernan see what a treasure he is.

The build up to these two coming together was slow, but totally worth it. The romance didn't feel rushed because (whether they knew or not) Charlier and Kier were building the foundation of their relationship over a period of months. Once they came together, they were red hot!

Nauti or Nice is a perfectly timed, sweet, Christmas romance. If you dream of celebrating the holidays in a tropical locale and want to catch up with all the Voyagers men, this is the perfect read for you! Take a break from the holiday baking and dive in!

AWE I am going to miss this world. I am really sad to see it end but have been so grateful to have discovered Ava through Now, Voyager (the love spell boat) and visit all the beautiful and seductive locations she has chartered us to, along with sexy silver fox Captain George Bernard of course! The gang is all here again to see this last HEA set off into the sunset, Charlie and Kiernan.

Charlie is fun loving and cool all wrapped up in a cute little package. He is the first officer of Now, Voyager and has his heart set on the Captaincy of his own charter someday. He is the guy everyone loves on this super love yacht and does his job so well. He is hard working and knows how to have a good time and is usually a no strings guy. But lately quick hookups don't hold the same appeal that they used to. This may or may not have to do with the sexy yet shy Irishman Kiernan. He is the biggest sweetie ever. He is large and tatted up, and ex MMA fighter, with the bad boy look down pat. But on the inside that is completely opposite of what he is. He's got the softest heart and loves being taken care of and even though he's never experienced anything close to love, he knows Charlie is different. They meet on Now,Voyager, where Kiernan is a bodyguard for mutual friends. He and Charlie hit it off but both figure it's friendship with a shared secret attraction. We don't get to see much of their build up to friends, but I felt the connection all the same. I love how they care for one another. They are constantly in each other's thoughts and it's so sweet. Kiernan being shy and uncertain is the cutest thing, as well as his love for furry friends. He's a complete lovebug.

They had really great chemistry and I loved the size difference between the two and the role reversal of smaller top and bigger bottom. Charlie controls the sexy times and loves having the big guy at his mercy. And Keirnan being inexperienced with men and wanting Charlie to take the rains and take care of him was really cute. It worked and they had some great moments.

The super yacht did its job again and brought two hearts together for one final time. I loved the cameos of all our guys and truly wish this series could go on forever. I have been so happy to find Ava through this world and will continue to be a fan of her work. This being a novella seemed like the perfect close even if I am sad to say goodbye. I truly hope Ava brings to life more HEA's from characters mentioned throughout like Georges Navy longtime friends and Kiernan's twin!

NAUTI OR NICE by Ava Olsen, part of the Voyagers series, is Charlie and Keirnan's story.

Carlie and Keirnan met on Now, Voyager and became instant friends and both developed secret crushes on each other but avoided them. Now back on Now, Voyager, the "love bug" that the superyacht is known for may bite them next.

A fun and flirty, holiday read. Charlie and Keirnan are entertaining and adorable. I love the progression of their relationship from friends to lovers and how all in they are with each other. I also loved the update we got about all the other couples in the series.

Get ready for… mm, bodyguard, grumpy/sunshine, holiday, size difference, sexual awakening, first times, forced proximity, roommates, friends, cinnamon roll hero, demi rep, fund family, first-person (dual)

Be mindful that this book contains topics that may be triggering to some readers.

Be still my heart. Kiernan, our tough, grumpy, ex-MMA bodyguard is the sweetest, kindest, gentlest soul to ever star in my tall and brawny Irish fantasies. This man must be protected at all costs.

And Charlie, our fun-loving first officer is just the man to do it. Oh, he may not realize it at first. He may think he just has a crush on this probably straight man. But he falls hard, and suddenly our one-and-done no-strings guy is ready to fight for his happy ever after.

With lots of heat and plenty of snuggling, one very sexy dance, and a hilarious wrong room oopsy you will fall hard this Christmas. Ava really knows how to capture the emotions and nuances of characters, whether it’s in their interactions or their inward glancing.

There are also plenty of cameos this holiday season!

Now, how do I get on this ship with a love spell?

What a way to round up this series, with a hot, sweet Christmas novella featuring a character we met waaay back in the first book in the series. I was so happy when I saw Charlie was going to get his own story and man, and I was not disappointed at all. I've read and enjoyed this whole series very much, and liked both Kiernan and Charlie when I met them in earlier stories. I love that they built up a friendship first, and I was there for all of it. There's a little angst, as Kiernan has to come to terms with his attraction to a man, and Charlie is wary of being attracted to a 'straight' man again as he has been burned by that in the past.

What follows when they decide to act on their attraction is full of heat, lots of action in some very tiny places - with such a big man too 😉. It was so good to 'see' all the couples/throuples we met in past books again too, all while Charlie and Kiernan are falling for each other. It's hot, sweet, steamy and just about the perfect send off for what has been a wonderful series.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

4.5⭐️
I loved the chance to visit with the Now, Voyager crew again. First officer Charlie and bodyguard Kiernan met previously in the series where we got just a glimpse of the chemistry between them, their story does not disappoint! These two friends have been avoiding each other not sure what to do about their feelings for the other, until a Christmas charter puts the together again. I absolutely loved spending more time on the Now, Voyager and I loved checking in with all the couples. I loved the combination of heat and sweetness in Charlie and Kiernan‘s relationship and I was definitely rooting for Kiernan to convince relationship phobic Charlie to take a chance on him. It’s a lovely quick read and an amazing happy ending for Kiernan and Charlie.

This is a cute conclusion to the Voyagers series.

Christmas, a bi-awakening, friends-to-lovers and a yacht. What is there not to love.

We met Charlie in book 1 and Kieran later on. During the last book, they met and became friends. Only trouble, Charlie fell hard but doesn't know what to do with feelings and Kieran doesn't know what to do with feelings for a man.

Charlie and Kieran are just cute together and when both finally admit that they want more than friendship and even more than just hooking up, a small bunkbed hardly survives.

I love the found family setting with all couples we met before coming up again. There is no drama or angst, the book is really a feel-good story about these two who realise they can have it all.

✨ Book Review - ARC ✨

✨ “Nauti or Nice” by Ava Olsen
✨ Series: Voyagers, book 4.5
✨ Releasing Dec. 5!

✨ Overall: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

🛥️ “Nauti or Nice” takes us back on to Now, Voyager for another Christmas romp. It is Charlie and Kieran’s turn for love, and the ship is never wrong

🌲 I genuinely want to know how big this yacht is, because there are multiple stories and all sorts of times and I need a floorplan to make it make sense in my brain 🤣

🛥️ As with all of Ava’s books…I loved it. I wanted to smack Charlie upside the head for his ghosting in the beginning, but they got to each other in the end. Seeing the other couples and throuple come back was fun too!

🌲 A great way to jump into some holiday cheer!

This was a great conclusion to the Voyagers series. I love a good holiday romance, and this one has the sweetest friends-to-lovers trope.

Now, Voyager has become the love boat throughout the Voyagers series, and we end with Charlie and Kiernan getting their HEA. Charlie and Kiernan became part of the Voyagers series' found family in the last few books. This story has a bi-awakening, which is handled with so much care, and we really get to understand Kiernan's POV and how he struggled with depression due to his past. Charlie has come off as a party boy, and we learn about his unrequited crush on a former roommate, which caused him to swear off love and relationships.

Seeing Kiernan open up to Charlie and his offer of being together for two weeks and letting go after was something I knew that they could not stick to. I loved how they found a way to be together, and Kiernan was able to leave his bodyguard job. Overall, I loved the final book in the Voyagers series, and this is one of my favorite series this year.

Thank you to Ava Olsen for the ARC copy; this is my honest review.

If you have read Ava Olsen’s Voyagers series then you’ve met Charlie. He is the yacht’s First Mate and training to be Captain. Charlie is sweet, he anticipates the needs of his boss and guests, and isn’t looking for love.

Kieran is a bodyguard for Alex and has been on the yacht before. He is drawn to Charlie and they form a friendship. They both develop crushes for each other but Charlie is convinced Kieran is straight. Kieran’s crush on Charlie makes him question how straight he really is.

This novella is fun, light, and a lovely holiday ish story. Charlie and Kieran have some steamy fun times. Learning new things can be lots of fun 🤭🤭🤭

Fabulous!

This book is amazing! It’s time to head back to the Now, Voyager for this wonderful Christmas tale! Rowen has gathered everyone together on his yacht for the holiday and it will bring Kiernan and Charlie together. The two will find themselves drawn to each other and it will be hard for them to resist the pull. It isn’t long before everyone on board can see how the two feel about each other and it will cause Charlie to rethink his stand on relationships. When the two decide to go all in, it’s sweet and wonderful and makes this book an absolute must read!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

The love spell is in full force onboard the Now, Voyager! Charlie and Kiernan didn’t stand a chance. The gruff appearing bodyguard is secretly a sweet and mushy cinnamon roll and only Charlie can see through his defenses to the soft heart within. Charlie has some serious decisions to make about his heart, but matters of the heart are rarely under our own control! This has all the friends to lovers, forced proximity, and only one bed (okay twin bunks but still!) tropes you could make a Christmas wish on.

4.5/5 This is a wonderful holiday novella bringing us back to Now, Voyager and its love spell (lol). It’s fun to watch Charlie and Kiernan both figure out what they really want (spoiler: each other) while pretty much everyone else on board knows it before they do.

I loved that Kiernan was actually soft and vulnerable and everything about him wasn’t dictated by his size. It was nice to see Charlie open up and risk his heart again. And it was fun to see all the couples (and throuples) from the previous books together once more.

I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.

Kier really was a big ole sweet Irish guy with a very soft heart, especially for Charlie. They are friends and I have to say that my heart really ached for Kier as he was so insecure. I started off frustrated with Charlie's activities, but I could feel deep down his attachment to Kier was genuine. The story is sweet and spicy and how much I adored seeing Charlie finally make Kier all happiness made me smile. I absolutely enjoyed all the cameos of previous guys in the series, but even more I thoroughly enjoyed the spicy times in places just a bit small for Kier!

This was a very sweet wrap-up of the main series which gives a favorite recurring character a happily ever after of his own. Charlie provides a different perspective as a worker on the superyacht, but I love that he is still considered part of the extended family instead of "staff." His friends-to-lovers dynamic with Kiernan could have filled an entire novel, but the pacing never felt rushed. This extended epilogue is filled with the same sweetness and spice as the main series, and is not to be missed if you're not quite ready to say goodbye to Now, Voyager.

Sweet novella to finish the series

I loved the four books and the couples/throuple and this ended the series perfectly. we get to see all of them happy and enjoying life together but this story belongs to Charlie and Kiernan, both of whom we've seen before.
It's a slow burn with them becoming friends first but they were always desdtined to find love together, regardless of Charlie's aversion to relationships and the little matter of Kiernan being straight (supposedly!). This is a low angst, love on board, romance with dogs and Christmas presents and found family and I loved it.

I’m so thankful to Ava for ending this fun, steamy, and sweet series with the perfect holiday book because it gave two great side characters a well-deserved HEA and brought back all the beloved main characters from the previous 4 books.
Former MMA fighter/bodyguard Kiernan just recently discovered that he might be interested in guys … and confesses this to his friend, First Officer Charlie, who was actually the catalyst to this revelation. As much as Charlie wants the hot bodyguard, he chooses to be his friend to support him. Charlie had his heart broken before, so he does not want a relationship at all. But seeing all the power couples on board (yay for Ava bringing back all the guys from the previous books!) he thinks maybe he is missing out on not having a loving relationship. Charlie can feel the great chemistry with the sexy bodyguard and when they finally get together it’s explosive. It rattles both of them how unique and strong their connection is. It was so much fun following their journey and I can assure you Ava did not run out of steam by the end of this series, these two were burning up the sheets. I enjoyed their banter as much as the sweet moments, it was truly the perfect finish to this great series. I’ll miss all of these men for sure!

Tropes aplenty here, and they come to life on the page as Kiernan and Charlie get together. We have a friends-to-lovers, a bisexual awakening, chosen family, touches of holiday spirit, and some really deeply likable characters who clearly fit together: emotionally, physically, and all ways in between. There’s sweetness and feeling and chemistry aplenty— well worth checking out.

“I’ll be the one waiting at arrivals with open arms.” “And I’ll be the one running right into them.”
This was such a sweet story. Charlie and Kiernan just steal your heart with their love for each other and their family. They both tried to resist each other, but the attraction was just too strong. It was also a great catch up with the characters from the rest of series.
I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Adorable! Charlie works on a billionaire's superyacht and he tries to stay away from relationships. Irish bodyguard Kiernan starts frequenting his ship to protect some of its passengers from time to time and the two of them quickly grow a friendship. Charlie is wildly attracted to him, but he's under the impression Kiernan is straight so he tries to ignore it. Then, Kiernan is assigned to the ship for two weeks over Christmas and they're forced to share a room together.

Kiernan has only ever been with women but he can't help noticing Charlie. He's also demi and has been dealing with some mental health issues, and he isn't too comfortable with casual, unlike Charlie. But the attraction is too strong to ignore for these two!

🔥: All the steam! These two are hot together, especially after a certain Christmas-themed performance! Scenes are slowly paced and graphic AF.
😆: The banter on this ship is top tier. I can't get enough of this group. Charlie and Kiernan trying to be intimate on bunk beds offers plenty of humor too!
😭: No tears!

This series is so freaking entertaining. I wish I worked on this ship🤣

The sweetest ending

And the cheesiest, most cliché story in the series. I mean that in the best way, though, because this was peak fluff content. Was it still messy? Yeah, but it was adorable, and fun, and Kiernan was the best kind of cimmy roll bb. 4/5. I have no interest in Tate or Reed, but I guarantee I’ll be reading that spin-off. This was the best “mindless reading” series.

Together On The Seas

I absolutely loved Charlie and Kiernan together. It all started with such an amazing friendship, and I have found that it is a great base for an amazing relationship. Charlie was quite jaded about being in love, but he quickly realized Kiernan was worth any potential heartache. I loved how at ease Kiernan was with the new discovery about his sexuality. He didn't overthink it or second guess like many do. I have enjoyed this entire series so much.

A holiday bi-awakening and a chance to see the rest of the characters from the series for the holidays, sign me up! While this can be read as standalone, there are several moments where past characters chime in and it's more fun to be in on the secrets...

I truly enjoyed the pacing, the hint of angst, the steam and the holiday romance, along with just how wonderful Kieran's family is!

Kieran and Charlie started as friends turned into so much more. This was such a fun holiday read.  There was no drama and a lot of romance. I really like revisiting characters from previous stories. I do believe the Now, Voyager has special romance powers. This is a definite fun holiday read.
