Being a wife and mother, has only added to the joys of Monica's life. Attaining a BS in Sociology, helping her better understand people and their behaviors, has only helped her become a better writer, understanding characters and their complex personalities. Denishia (35) & Ezekiel (32) meet when he goes to her shop to order flowers for his momma's birthday party. It's instant attraction, but she already has a deadbeat bf at home that very clearly needs the boot.

Denishia had a lot going on, like boom, boom, boom the hits kept coming. When she finally makes the decision to kick the bf out the only thing that stayed steady in her life was the support of Ezekiel, so that was nice. Might have been my favorite part of the book because who wouldn't want their significant other to be supportive and loving nonstop. He's, also, so sweet to his momma and I just love that.

Overall, it was fine, but it's novella length, so a whole lot happens quickly not giving us much build up for the brewing romance. Also, I did like her friendship with her 2 besties.

Narration notes:
Happy there were two. They both did fine.

Somebody definitely will !

This book was deeply emotional in the best way.

Watching Denishia’s emotional growth was absolutely beautiful. She experiences unimaginable loss, depression, and so much internal conflict, yet somehow finds the strength to keep moving forward. Seeing her slowly allow herself to love again with Ezekiel was heartwarming because she truly didn’t believe that kind of happiness was possible for her anymore.

What I appreciated most was how realistic the conflicts felt. The family drama, the lingering pain from her ex, and the insecurities she constantly battled all felt authentic. Instead of feeling overdramatic, they offered comfort and reminded me that healing isn’t linear.

I also loved that Denishia was a successful business owner. She wasn’t waiting for someone to save her she was already building a life for herself. Then along came Ezekiel…a genuinely good man who refused to let fear and self-doubt keep her from experiencing the love she deserved. He pursued her with patience, consistency, and unwavering intention, even when she kept trying to push him away.

This was Hallmark movie love in the absolute best possible way, sweet, hopeful, emotional, and full of second chances. If you’re looking for a romance that reminds you love can find you even after your darkest moments, this one is definitely worth the read.

Trigger Warning: Def worth looking into if triggers impact your reading experience
Song: The Man I Need by Olivia Dean
Narration: Leon Nixon, Morae Brehon (excellent)

“It’s my job to give you praise and a kick in the behind when you need it.”

“I’m ready to do all the things your man won’t do.”

“You did what you did and now you have to live with the consequences.”

“I’m tired of this shit, I have enough on my plate and I refuse to add you and your bullshit to it.”

“I’m here for those moments when you need to be weak.”

Thanks to LIBRO.FM for my gifted copy of this one. I love partnering up with @librofm to share my love for all things bookish. Monica Walters is a new to me author and this will NOT BE the last book of hers that I read. I loved it.

This book instantly grabbed my attention, the MC Denishisa Boswell owns the Happily Ever After Floral Shop and is over her deadbeat a$$hole boyfriend, Will. The opening scene was so good. I was like yes girl, don’t settle. I loved rooting for her the entire book.

I also adored all of Denishisa’s friends. They were so supportive of her and always encouraged her to stand up for herself.

She’s finally ready to end things with Will when she has her first interaction with famous actor, Ezekiel Wheeler. Ezekiel decides to use Denishisa’s l shop for his mother’s flowers. He’s a bit forward but something about him is immediately endearing. Denishisa initially pushes off his advances because she hasn’t ended things with Will yet but Ezekiel won’t give up that easily.

Don’t let this cover fool you there are definitely some spicy scenes. I’m talking scenes that will have you either swooning, sweating, blushing, cackling or all of the above. Monica can absolutely write a top notch sex scene. No closed door on this one.

I loved how direct and mature the relationship between the MCs was, so refreshing.

Denishia's flower shop was doing well, it was her personal life that was floundering. Being in a relationship that was not serving her anymore was getting old, but it was comfortable. She knew she needed to drop that dead weight, but that is easier said than done.

Ezekiel is making his way as an up-and-coming actor, who is down to earth and as real as can be. When he needs flowers for his mother's party, he is directed to Denishia's business. When he sees her, he is immediately smitten and ready to make her his. When he learns she is unavailable, he shrugs. I just have to take her from her man. 🤣

Well, he didn't have to do that after all as Will showed his ass, and Denishia gave him the boot. Finally! Ezekiel stepped right in, and made his intentions known. Then life happened, and the drama began, all as the couple is getting started. But Ezekiel was there with Denishia every step of the way, holding her hand, drying her tears, and giving forehead kisses. 🤩 They fit together so well. I loved Denishia's friendships with Jamia and Jerzey. I hope they both start talking soon, because there is so much that we need to hear from them. Cute read.

It was a quick read that kept my attention the whole time, and I liked the chemistry between the main characters. The male lead, Ezekiel, was definitely a highlight and made the story more enjoyable.
At the same time, the pacing felt rushed, especially with the romance. Some of the drama felt like a bit much, and a few twists didn’t really hit the way they should have. I also wanted a little more depth from the characters.
Still, it was entertaining and easy to get through, even with its flaws.

Y’all are a bunch of liars, this was a HOT mess.

The romance is so rushed, the dialogue is cringy and there are so many random plot points thrown together it ruined the main story.

I felt like this was going too smooth. But nothing would have prepared me for that.

That maniac came out of left field. It was so random. wow!

I was really saddened by her mother.
This was a short read but it packed so much into it. So so much.

This is the perfect example of a love healing you.

Now, I know that in order to truly fall in love, you have to love yourself first, but that wasn't the case with Denishia. She already loved herself. She is independent, owns a beautiful business that she loves, is comfortable in her own body, and has so much love to give others, but feels trapped in her current relationship when that love and respect isn't reciprocated.

Ezekiel walked into her life at the perfect time. I believe in fate. He is what she was missing in her life. He's affectionate, caring, thoughtful, and puts her before anything else. She needed someone to reciprocate those qualities. They're chemistry was unreal! Ezekiel is a man that knows his way around some curves!

What I didn't love about this book was the amount of drama and unfortunate circumstances Denishia was put through. I feel like it was just one thing after another. If the goal was for the reader to gain more sympathy for her, it did the opposite. At one point, I said "Zeke, leave herrrrr" because the drama was tewww much!! The backstory with her ex was enough to create sympathy with the was she was getting treated!

I also am not a fan of "insta-love" or "love at first sight", whatever you want to call it. It always feels dramatic and unserious for me. "Insta-lust" feels more genuine, and I feel like I would've liked this more if it went in that direction, but that's just me!

I enjoyed this read! It was fast paced, emotional, and had a beautiful happy ending!

The narrators need a shoutout as well. Leon Nixon and Morae Brehon did an amazing job at bringing these characters to life. The chemistry in their narrating made for such a great listening experience!

Denisha dropped her zero and got with a hero! Despite Ezekiel being the celebrity, he was the one to fall first. He had to have our girl! Denisha had a lot on her plate but she eventually gave in and enjoyed Ezekiel. That twist at the end was crazy and unexpected.

Denishia was irking my nerves in the beginning of this book with how she didn't want to give Ezekial a chance because of her "relationship" with a deadbeat dude. Clearly, she did not need to be with him any longer because he couldn't do anything for her so I was happy when she finally dropped him and gave Ezekial the time of day. I did feel like they had some chemistry between the two of them especially after the event she was hired to provide the flower arrangements for, that being said I felt like I wanted to see a little more of them together. There were some other situations that occurred that I couldn't really figure out why they were in the book as they really didn't do anything to add to the budding romance between Denishia and Ezekial and if anything, to me, I felt like it kind of took away from their storyline as a couple. I enjoyed the two of them together when we got them together and the ending was nice for them but I wanted more of just them.

Ezekiel did...

As usual, Mrs. Walters has delivered a masterpiece. Of course, this wasn’t a Hallmark romance type love story. It was more of a Lifetime Saturday night thriller. The unknown sibling that did a popup needed all types of therapy in her life. It was quite disheartening to read what she endured from the person who aided in creating her. It was a relief that some type of justice was served. Denishia was going through valleys and had no clue who was behind her lows. Denishia deserved a man like Ezekiel because he was intentional about who and what he wanted. He was also a working man who knew how to lead in a relationship, unlike Will her ex. Ezekiel took the role of protector and provider seriously. The book title is "Somebody Else Will," and Ezekiel did.

Ladies and gents, this is another magnificent page turner. I was ecstatic when Denishia finally got her happily ever after. However, I get the feeling that her and Ezekiel will make a cameo in a future work of art. Ezekiel didn't get the opportunity to give her a ring yet. The ring, wedding, and babies are what I love to read. Plus, there were other characters in this book who I wouldn't mind reading more about their lives.

Somebody Else Will by Monica Walters

Thoughts: I was immediately drawn to this book by its cover, it’s lovely. I enjoyed the premise, especially the fact that the FMC owns a florist shop, which added such a fun and unique touch. While the story had a lot of potential, the romance moved a little too quickly for my taste and the romance was cringe at times. Even though the romance wasn’t my favourite, the cosy setting will definitely win over readers who enjoy lighter, fast-paced romance!

Thank you Libro FM for gifting me a copy of the audiobook of Somebody Else Will In exchange for an honest review!

Celebrity actor MMC
Flower shop owner FMC

Loss / grief / touch of suspense

To start, this book has such a pretty cover.
I love a good spicy novella, and the spice was definitely spicing. I liked Ezekiel as a character. He ticked all the boxes. Sexy, black, successful, caring, romantic, attentive, protective, and passionate. I loved how hard we went after Denishia. He saw her, knew he wanted her, and wasn’t letting up until she gave him a chance. He didn’t play with her at all, and I loved that for her. I also loved how on multiple occasions, even with his busy schedule, he intentionally made time for her.
I also liked Denishia. She was an entrepreneur, determined, and caring. I do wish she would’ve been stronger though when it came to Will because she should’ve left him long before he popped up showing out at her business.
Her friends were hilarious and I loved how they hyped her up, kept her uplifted and encouraged, and pushed her to open herself up and give Ezekiel a chance.
Will was a trifling pos and I wasn’t here for his “redemption arc”. How do you, a man .., let a woman punk you into dogging/disrespecting your girlfriend? The woman you claim to love?? And I’m not convinced he didn’t know ahead of time that Sabrina planned to break into her shop and possibly attack her. Zeke should’ve really put hands on him lol
Because this was a novella, we didn’t get much depth as it pertained to Zeke and Denishia’s chemistry/emotional connection/relationship growing, and I wish we had. I also wanted more from the ending. I didn’t really feel like a true HEA, since they were still just boyfriend and girlfriend. I would’ve loved to see a engagement, marriage, and or kids

Denishia’s story felt incredibly relatable because so many people know what it feels like to stay in something emotionally draining simply because the fear of loneliness feels heavier than the disappointment. My heart genuinely hurt for her at times because you could feel how exhausted she was emotionally, even when she tried to convince herself otherwise.

What made this story stand out for me was the way Ezekiel loved her intentionally. Not performatively. Not conditionally. He showed Denishia what partnership, patience, consistency, reassurance, and emotional safety actually look like. Their relationship development felt natural, mature, and believable instead of rushed or overly dramatic. Monica Walters allowed their connection to unfold in a way that felt soft, healing, and earned.

I also appreciated the slight suspense woven throughout the story. It added tension without overpowering the romance or disrupting the emotional flow of the novel. Every character served a purpose, and the pacing kept me emotionally engaged from beginning to end.

And honestly? The title could not have been more fitting. Somebody Else Will perfectly captures the realization that if one person refuses to value, protect, or love you properly… eventually someone else absolutely will.

This story was tender, emotionally satisfying, frustrating in all the right ways, and deeply rewarding to watch unfold.

Somebody Else Will by Monica Walters is a compelling and emotionally layered romance that explores love, timing, and the courage to choose yourself.

Denishia Bronswell is a successful entrepreneur who pours her creativity into her floral business, designing beautiful arrangements that enhance other people’s love stories. However, when it comes to her own relationship, she finds herself unfulfilled and questioning what she truly deserves.

Ezekiel Wheeler, a focused and well-established actor, isn’t interested in superficial connections. When he reaches out to Denishia for a personal event, he is immediately drawn to her—first by her voice, then by her presence. What starts as a professional interaction quickly evolves into undeniable chemistry.

The tension between loyalty and desire is written exceptionally well. Denishia’s internal conflict feels realistic and relatable, while Ezekiel’s pursuit is both intentional and patient without crossing boundaries.

Monica Walters delivers a story that highlights:
• Emotional growth and self-worth
• The complexity of leaving a stagnant relationship
• The power of genuine connection

This was a beautifully written romance with depth, tension, and heart.

Highly recommended.

This book was such an easy read, and I flew through it! From the very beginning it had that classic “you don’t miss your water till your well runs dry” and “love at first sight” vibes, which honestly, I expected just from the title alone. 🤭

What I really loved was how it started off feeling like a cute, spicy little love story… and then out of nowhere it turned into this twisty urban “okay wait, WHO did it?!” type of read. 🤣 I was entertained the whole time. This was a book that I started and then put down, and I’m so mad at myself for not going back to finish it sooner!😔😩

The drama, family secrets, and little surprises popping up, were addictive, and even though the book was short, there was A LOT happening, and it definitely had me locked in and turning pages like, “just one more chapter…”🤣

This was my first time reading this author, but it definitely won’t be my last. I’m already looking into more of her books because if they’re anything like this one, I’m all in!

10/10 — definitely recommend!

🎧 Audiobook Review: Somebody Else Will by Monica Walters

Denishia knows how to create romance for others, but her own love life, not so much. Stuck in a relationship she’s outgrown, fear keeps her from walking away… until heartbreak forces her to face the truth.

Ezekiel, an actor who walks into her flower shop for his moms birthday setup and instantly knows he wants more than just arrangements. The attraction is immediate, intense, and fast.

This one definitely leans insta-love over slow burn, things move quickly, and at times it felt a bit rushed.

There’s drama, unexpected twists…some very left field and plenty of spicy scenes that bring the heat.

I did enjoy the self-growth journey woven into Denishia’s story and the overall message: appreciate what you have before it’s gone.

The narration was solid, the narrators really brought the characters to life.

This was a quick, drama filled listen that was just okay for me entertaining in the moment, but not super memorable.

Thank you to @LibroFM for the gifted audiobook!

Zero To Hero

Aaaah, just what mamma needed 😊📖 a great read with no dual duty requirements from me. It’s back to basics, my comfort zone, my easy like Sunday morning, like a faithful friend “you can count on me”😊🤷🏾‍♀️🤠. … Meanwhile, ”Somebody Else Will” was a classic Monica Walter’s urban adult romance with a peculiar plot twist, but you won’t be disappointed. (However, in typical MW style, reading will illicit a bevy of emotions 🤷🏾‍♀️🤭! You’ve been warned 2x‼️) Nevertheless, I appreciated/adored/respected the alpha male character Ezekiel. His attraction, attention for and ultimate pursuit of entrepreneur Denishia grappled my attention, warmed my heart and delighted soul while I instructed ALEXA, play “old school Quiet Storm radio from pandoria, everywhere”. ..and she’s already curated to play all my favorite R&B love ballads & artist 🥰...let the zero to hero two hour literary journey commence 💋‼️

Ezekiel and Denishia, When Love Heals You

What was there to not love about this book when you loved everything from page one!!!…
I was so happy for Denishia and Ezekiel, and I loved how her pursued her and let her know that he was going to make her his!!…I loved that for her because she was lacking the strength of a man in the relationship she was in!!!…
Will stressed my nerves so far out because e could have told Denishia what was going on before all the mishaps!!!…The fact that he was cocky with Denishia, but allowed another woman make him treat the woman that supported him like crap is crazy!!!…
Sabrina’s mother needed her soul touched because she was so wrong to allow someone treat her daughter that way and then you leave her there for the taking!!!…Sicko!!…
I truly hope there is a story coming for Jamia, because the act that Sabrina unleashed on her like that is crazy!!!…

Honestly, this book was kind of all over the place. I don’t even know how a novella manages to feel both too long and just *too much*, but here we are. There were so many random plots thrown into the mix, and then the way it wrapped up? The ending had absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the book—it was just a little absurd.
Don't get me wrong, it was an okay read. It wasn't a terrible story, but it definitely wasn't good either, unfortunately. I listened to the audiobook, and I think that might have made the experience even worse for me. The narrators sounded way older than the characters they were supposed to be playing. But honestly, I can't even blame it all on the narration because the writing itself was a bit off. Like, the hero is 32 years old and doesn't know how to dance to a Prince song? Give me a break! The math just wasn't mathing. Nothing about this one ever really clicked for me.

Neglecting your significant other leaves the door open for someone else to slip in to cherish and appreciate. That's exactly what happened in this story. Will didn't handle business with his woman Denishia because he was selfish, lazy, disrespectful, and a cheater. Ezekiel stepped right in and swooped her up.

He was the perfect man for her at the right time. Their meeting was perfect timing. The chemistry between the two was hotter than fish grease. Ezekiel definitely showed her how a real man should act and treat her.

Lord, this lady went through it. Drama wouldn't leave her alone! Death of her mother, an ex. who wouldn't go away, her friend being assaulted, and a stalker. Nisha was a strong, confident, business owner, and caring woman. However, sometimes you can use a little help. And with Zeke by her side, she was able to take on whatever came her way.

Somebody else will

The title of this story was perfect for how Denishia moved on from Will and allowed Ezekiel to love her like a real man should. I’ve never understood the need to stay in a situationship when you’re not happy or being taken care of whether it be mentally, physically or emotionally because I’m a firm believer in the phrase “I can do bad all by myself.” I was glad to see Denishia give Ezekiel a chance and I liked the pressure he applied to get her. He.became her rock through a very stressful time and I’m glad she had him to lean on.

There were some parts of the story that I didn’t care for or think fit seamlessly, but it wasn’t enough to make me stop reading. I enjoyed the times between Denishia and Ezekiel and I also liked the friendship bond between Denishia and Jerzey and Jamia.

(3.5⭐️) I would like to say that the trigger warning didn’t trigger. There’s on screen death of a parent pretty early in the book & is a very integral part of the book. So I wouldn’t read if you find that triggering. I enjoyed Ezekiel as a MMC. He was applying all the pressure in the beginning, and when life happened and he could have dipped and decided it was too much to deal with….he stayed & showed his character. And it was beautiful to watch her being loved, supported, and nurtured through it. There was a subplot that popped up in the last 3/4 of the book that was completely random, and honestly unnecessary. It felt rushed through and I think I would have been ok just reading about Ezekiel and Denishia navigating their careers & her grief while building their relationship.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Had to take a few days to ponder on my review for this book. Ezekiel was everything Denishia needed. He taught her what love should be and how much she deserves it. As for the twist in this book, I didn’t really care for it. I feel like it was kind of pointless and trying to bring in other elements of what her dad was like once the mom left him—for valid reasons. Her ex made a complete 360 after the breakup and his part in the twist. I didn’t care for it but I did enjoy other elements of the book as the growth between the characters and showing Zeke soft side when he isn’t aggressive. I kind of wish we got more interaction between her and his parents, that would’ve been nice.

Overall a solid read— ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 !!
