She auctions herself to forget him. He outbids everyone to claim her.
The Black Ledger Auction is the ultimate bidding war—where powerful men compete for elite contracts, and every deal is final.
This year, Cassidy Hayes offers something no one ever has before—her virginity.
She doesn’t believe in love. Jaxon Kane—her brother’s best friend and first heartbreak—made sure of that. The Black Ledger was supposed to help her move on.
She never expected him to be in the audience.
Jaxon swore to stay away, but when he sees Cassidy on that stage, offering herself to men who don’t deserve her, he does the only thing he can.
He outbids them all.
Now, she’s bound to him by contract, but Jaxon has no intention of being forgotten. Because he never let go. And now, he never will.
Rebekah Sinclair writes books that bite back. Dark rom-coms. Greek mythology retellings. Wicked fae. Billionaire antiheroes. Her stories blend unhinged humor, high-stakes heat, and emotional wreckage you’ll thank her for later.
With 11 published novels (and plenty more on the way), Rebekah has built a world of morally gray men, stabby women, and plot twists that hit like a betrayal kink. Whether you’re into serial killers with soft spots, gods who fall too hard, or fae realms soaked in shadow, there’s a love story in her lineup that will ruin you—in the best way.
Off the page, Rebekah is a single mom to five wildly chaotic kids and four fur-babies (two cats, two dogs, all equally dramatic). Writing started as her escape. Now it's her full-blown career, complete with exclusive covers, spicy book boxes, and signings where readers show up wearing eyeliner sharper than her plot twists.
When she’s not writing, she’s probably hiding from her kids in the pantry, pretending to be brainstorming.
Welcome to Rebekah Sinclair’s world. The spice is high. The stakes are higher. And no one makes it out emotionally intact.
I was really excited to read Jaxon’s story but this was a let down. There were so many holes in the story, like it was rushed. I kept going back wondering if I missed something. I really loved him & Cassie’s banter & back & forth but the other parts of the story just did not make sense.
I genuinely wasn't expecting this to be any good. I'm in a severe reading slump and just wanted simple and spicy.
THIS WAS GLORIOUS!! Honestly this was the most fun to read, and it had me laughing constantly. Jaxon is delicious and I really enjoyed the romance. Also super rich heroic biker boyfriend anyone?? 💀
Anyway, the spice and banter were elite, and I liked the storyline. The ending was cringe as fuck (the church....really??) and I think the Jonathan situation for both Jaxon and his 6 years of celibacy, and what he was doing to his family/Cassidy didn't make much sense. But it cured my reading slump and that's enough for me 😂
This is a 4.5 for me. I think this has been my favorite of the series so far. I loved Jaxon in this book who at the start you can tell he is in love with the Cassidy, but he won't act upon it bc of her brother but that still doesn't stop him from doing questionable things like cyber stalking her and I loved every moment of it. I think because you could see that yes, he was stalking her at times but those were at moments for her safety or to joke around with her like when she is clearly on a bad date and poking fun at that date. But at the same time, He did have limits when it came to protecting her privacy. As an example, is with a couple keystrokes he could have answers as to why she was auctioning herself off but instead he respected her privacy and wanted to earn her trust so that she would come to him. Like this man was down BAD for her and I just loved it.
When it comes to Cassidy, this girl may not seem like it but she has a lot on her plate some of which we don't really know until the end of the book and this auction was not just her only way of saving her home but reclaiming her power in a situation she was being forced into. And what makes the situation suck more is that she is being forced into all these bad situations because of her brother who for her whole life has had a mask on for everyone else including Jaxon but for her made her life hell. I just really enjoyed her strength as well as her sass especially when it came to her and Jaxon's prank war. She did not back down and gave as good as he did.
I also really enjoyed the chemistry between Jaxon and Cassidy which was off the charts with the fun banter/pranks and the tension of their situation. Like they were obviously in love with each other and have been for a long time, but her brother and her situation got in the way of it. But the auction was finally the thing that allowed them to act on their feelings, and it made for a really fun story.
Overall, I enjoyed the romance, the spice and the characters and I can't wait to read the final story in the series. I also am glad her brother gets what he has coming for him bc trust me he deserved it.
----- This book is about Cassidy who never thought she would find herself in this situation but to save her home she puts herself and her virginity up for auction with The Black Ledger for their auction. A super exclusive private club for the elite. What she never expected was who the winning bidder ended up being. Because the winner was none other than Jaxon who is her brother’s best friend and her first heartbreak. Now Jaxon never planned to be at the auction, but when he saw Cassidy on that stage offering herself up to men who did not deserve, he had no choice but to make sure he won the contract. Now they are bound by a contact where Cassidy's heart was never part of the agreement but Jaxon who has always loved her but never acted on it has decided he not going to let her go.
Sooooo I’m enjoying this series immensely and need more
The Auction by Rebekah Sinclair is book 4 in The Black Ledger Billionaires series that takes you on a twisty ride. I have blew through this series so fast and this one did not disappoint… I need the next one like I’m going through withdrawals 🤣😂 The epic love stories with a dark twist that Rebekah is able to spin is just *chefs kiss*. I fell in love with Jaxon and Cassidy’s romance and the enemies to lovers of it all. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
At first glance reading the back of the book was concerning lol. Like why would you put yourself up for auction. But the reasoning behind it was so meaningful it was like it’s a bad decision but for a good cause. Jaxon was definitely her childhood love and the type of man to risk it all for you. Jonathan was an asshole , he didn’t care for nobody but himself and wanted to support his own coke addiction and was willing to let his my die of cancer. Cassidy and Jaxon’s love was unbreakable, they loved each other since kids and couldn’t let go.
I’d definitely loved seeing a second book where their story continues and they get married and Cassidy’s mom (Lily) gets better as she beat cancer.

I had high hopes for this, and Rebekah never lets me down. I’m a sucker for a brother’s best friend trope but I prefer when the brother is not an insufferable twat. I don’t love a bratty fmc because outside the bedroom it’s just irritating but I’ll make an exception here because this fmc earned every ounce of attitude. As usual, perfect drama, good spice, beautiful love story, plenty of humor and banter. So far this series is all winners and I am certain the trend will continue.
I love this book so much I’ll re-read it. The banter, the conflict, the relationship. I love a good auction, but the depth of love from both characters made it soooooo much better. They’re both so stubborn and holding on to past trauma. I’m so glad they finally overcome.
I was salivating for this one to come out. I love a brother's best friend trope more than anything and Rebekah Sinclair DELIVERED. Can't wait for The Final Contract so I can fall in love all over again.
This may be my favorite of the series. Such a cute couple. I love the banter. THE SPICE!!!!
Definitely recommend this series but I’m glad Im reading them in order bc I loved Jaxon’s role in the other books and knew his story was going to be good.
i really loved them together really cute but it felt rushed could read that in few hours if i wanted to and english isn't my first language theres SO much more the author could write i just think theres many holes in this story
omg so good. Jaxon was everything I was hoping he'd be from previous books. Jonathan... Jonathan deserved exactly what he got. Amazing. Had me in a chokehold the whole time.
Loved this book a lot loved how he tried to fight it but he had a pull to her he couldn't fight didn't realize it was a series so going back to first book of series
This surprised me and ended up being my favorite of the whole series. The only reason Im not giving full 5 stars is because I feel like it could have had a couple more chapters to wrap things up, it felt very sudden in the ending. Loved the building tension the whole time. As a cautious motorcycle rider myself a few parts had me nervous on his driving and maneuvering, but it did unlock some stuff for me I hadn't even thought about doing on a motorcyle so theres that lol

I hate it with a passion when writers write the scene where the FMC walks in on the MMC with his dick down someone's hole. Toxicity dripping all over. I don't care about his reasons that were explained towards the end or what happened after. And that after he ruined her evening with her date. The audacity! The whole book was already ruined for me ☠️☠️☠️🤢🤮 Also it doesn't make sense, because the only reason he was back was because her brother asked him. Since he had no intention of actually coming back to her or ever claim her he had no reason to .
