Elouise ‘Lou’ Kinkade is happy that all her siblings have found love. She’s less than happy that now all they want is for her to do the same. Lou doesn’t have time for romance; she has a business to run. And that business was shooting to success when a Hollywood degenerate takes a drunken tumble down her stairs.
Desperate to avoid a scandal, Lou does everything she can to help her unconscious guest, and somewhere between the ambulance and his hospital bedside, she’s mistaken by nurses and then parents for his girlfriend… an assumption she doesn’t correct.
The lie seemed beneficial for them both—not that the comatose actor exactly had a say—but there’s one person who doesn’t seem Wade Stevens, her ‘boyfriend’s’ far too handsome and far broodier older brother.
Wade has spent his life building up the reputation and success of his family’s law firm while his brother has been content to break every rule in the book. He’s not surprised that his younger brother ended up in a coma, but he’s shocked by the beautiful woman at his bedside. There’s no way his brother would settle down with someone as hardworking and smart as Lou, no matter how tempting she is.
He’ll prove the relationship Lou claims is a lie… as long as he doesn’t fall for her in the process.
Rebecca Sharp always loved a good love story. Let's face it, when you include a romance novel on your 8th grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn't!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. There's really no corner of romance that she doesn't (or wouldn't) enjoy writing, except maybe aliens, much to her husband's dismay, so her large catalog features a little something for everyone. However, her love of shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds makes her favorite stories to write the ones with some kind of suspense and crime solving.
When she's not writing, she's at her office treating patients, and somewhere between those two things, you'll find her wandering the globe with her husband always searching for their next adventure.

I was so looking forward to Lou’s book. She’s stood in the background and put everyone’s needs above her own her entire life. I was so happy for her to finally get her happily ever after. This book could have been incredible, but it just fell short for me. Yes, she finally blossomed and found her backbone and her voice, but what made the first few books in this series so great was the family interaction. That just wasn’t there in this book. We barely got any of Gigi, and she’s been a prominent fixture in this entire series. Her premonition jam jars are a side character themselves. They played important, vital roles in all the previous books. Lou’s had been mentioned as well in the prior books, and had been a source of worry and disappointment for Lou because of what hers said. But in this book, it’s not even mentioned until the very end.
Miscommunication is one of my least favorite tropes. That’s not to say I don’t like them at all. They can be done well, but the basis for the miscommunication here wasn’t even that big a deal. If I’m going to enjoy a miscommunication book, the miscommunication needs to stem from a much bigger issue.
I did love Wade. I loved Lou and Wade together. This just could have been so much better than it was.
I had really enjoyed the first 2 books of this series about the brothers and I also thought Frankie’s book was decent, but unfortunately, I didn’t like this book at all. I had to force myself to finish it. I think the main reason for my disappointment is because I found Lou to be unlikeable and annoying in her reluctance to speak up and tell the truth. And when Wade would praise her with “good girl” it gave me the ick. Maybe because Lou’s character seemed like a shy, meek, child, it felt like Wade was really saying those things to a child.

This contemporary small-town fake relationship enemies-to-lovers romance is page-turning with exceptional world-building and characters that are alpha, exuding power, captivating, and realistic. Their journey is enthralling with the innkeeper, explicit romance that is consumed by steamy, sizzling passion, lust, desire, and spice with all the feelings to leave readers in need of a fire extinguisher and begging for more, an age-gap, suspense that will leave readers on the edge of their seats, drama, heartfelt emotions, action, adventure, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her readers' hearts and attention with the innkeeper and explicit romance that is sure to transport readers into a world that is wildly lustful and unforgettable.

Lou finally achieved a dream of her own by opening the Lamplight Inn and one of her first guests is movie star Blaze Stevens. He booked a longterm stay and seems to just want to be left alone. Then one night while drunk, he tumbles down the stairs and is knocked unconscious. There's a misunderstanding with the ambulance driver and all of a sudden everyone thinks that Lou is Blaze's girlfriend—his mother and lawyer brother Wade who insists she's not his brother's type. Now Wade is staying in her inn until Blaze wakes from his coma and he's everything Lou ever wanted in a man. But to have Wade for her own, she has to tell the truth about his brother. I'm sad to see the last of the Kincade siblings, but hoping for a cousin spinoff. I love this small town where the siblings each have their own craft, their own personality, and seeing how their stories intertwined with each book. This author always brings the romance and I love her writing. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
*Spoilers* if the plot of a book revolves around a problem that could have been fixed with a five minute conversation, I am going to be mad at it. I loved Lou this whole series and was so excited for her to get her shot at love. Dumping the miscommunication trope on her was not fair and man I disliked this book. I loved her and Wade and their love, but the plot was trash.
DNF at 53%. I rode hard for the first book in this series and while the next two books were ok, this was just - not good.
I am growing weary of books so blatantly “inspired” by movies. This one takes on While You Were Sleeping and it was just super cringe from the beginning. It already telegraphs the ending so why bother? To point out the differences between the book and the movie?
The problem is, this series started out as a quirky, small town family and it’s just slowly distanced itself from that. I liked the Kincaids. Their dynamic was part of the appeal. I’m over halfway through and none of that heart is left. Maybe it shows up later, and I hate to DNF a book SO MUCH but there’s nothing here to see through. I saw the movie. I get the gist.
Aw, man. I have been waiting so long for Lou’s book, and I think I may have set my standards too high. I feel like so many things just didn’t make sense or weren’t necessary. I needed more of the grandma, more pining, less insta-lust, more background, and maybe even more meat to the side characters. We really could have had something with Lou’s cousin, or perhaps somebody pushing him down the stairs and a little mystery aspect. I still love this series, but this was 100% my least favorite.
📚 The Innkeeper: The Kinkades #4 🖋 Author ~ Dr. Rebecca Sharp 🖋 Features: Romance, Contemporary, Forced Proximity, Enemies To Lovers, Small Town Romance, Fiction Rating: 5/5
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lou & Wade ⏳ Billionaire Hero 🏡 Enemies To Lovers ⏳ Small Town Romance 🏡 Forbidden Romance ⏳ Fake Boyfriend Brother 🏡 Good Girl
⏳ Dad’s attention to me didn’t equate to affection. So, here we were. A prestigious lawyer. A famous actor. A wealthy widow. One big, wildly dysfunctional family.
🏡 …and Lou who will keep them all together…
I’ve been a fan of Rebecca’s. I started with The Vigilantes and have continued with The Kinkades. Rebecca has a fantastic way of blending a quirky small-town family with characters I can’t help but fall in love with. I’ve been waiting to read Lou’s story, and I was not disappointed. Lou has such an incredible capacity for caring, for putting other people first, that she will almost always set what she needs or wants aside.
I was in a constant state of anxiety for this woman, who had once been content to let her twin take the spotlight, is now suddenly shoved into center stage. Lou brings out all my emotions as she struggles to hold on to the only dream she believes she’ll ever have. While others find love and romance, Lou has her beloved inn, the guests she takes care of, and her very eclectic family. But Wade, observant and discerning, can see the real Lou that she tries to hide behind her constantly effervescent twin.
This is Lou and Wade’s chance at a forever love if they can be honest with each other, themselves, and their family. What started as a miscommunication tumbles into a series of half-truths and relentless paparazzi that can’t leave Lou and her unintentional fake boyfriend alone.
🖇 I felt something for Wade that I’d never felt before for anyone. A yearning I tried to ignore—tried to box up and put aside like I’d done with so many other wants over the course of my life, but it wouldn’t let me. He wouldn’t let me.
🖇 She didn’t see that she was the glue between all of them. The one that brought all their different edges together. That flowed through the rough patches and sharp corners.
For anyone who’s read the other books in this series, although it’s completely not necessary, you’ve waited for Lou’s story. Trust me: it did not disappoint! Once I started it, I finished it very quickly because the pages just turned themselves.
Lou is a classic introvert, and her shyness has kept her in her twin sister’s shadow. Frankie is gregarious and fun while Lou is warm and welcoming but with a preference to shy from the spotlight. This book thrusts Lou in front of her sister and lets the reader see why Lou is perfect just as she is.
Wade is a lawyer who plays by the rules and is ultra protective of his younger, famous brother, Blaze. Wade’s penchant for cleaning up messes leads him right to Lou when she channels her inner Frankie in order to keep an eye on Blaze when he’s hurt inside her inn.
Wade, of course, is suspicious of Lou’s veracity and motives but finds himself attracted to his “brother’s girl.” He wrestles with his feelings while Lou’s tries to understand the strong chemistry between them. Through push and pull, nature ultimately takes its steamy course, and these two finally get together. But do they stay that way? You’ll have to read the book to find out!
Lou and Wade are wonderful together as he works to show her just how perfect she is, and she blooms under his love and ministrations. Like any great romance, there are misunderstandings, so this couple doesn’t sail a straight course to happily ever after, but from page one until the end, you’ll enjoy their journey.

Lou is Frankie's twin sister who we met in The Candlemaker. (This is a stand alone, but If you haven't read it, then may I suggest you do. 😊)
It all begins with a guest tumbling down the stairs. When Lou innocently attempts to protect her dream, the Lamplight Inn, things get out of control. More like a downward slide! ⚠️ Who knew that answering correctly to one question at the wrong time would end up being such a complicated mess!🙄 Now she is "mistaken" as the patient’s (Blaze) girlfriend, and things spiral. 😳 Oh, forgot to mention that the patient is a celebrity.
Wade, Blaze’s protective brother, storms into town waving NDAs to anyone and everyone who he deems necessary. Yup, Wade is a lawyer and sees deception and greed in practically everyone when it comes to his little brother. 😔
He has his own demons, the most obvious, the connection he feels to Lou, his brother's girl. . . .forbidden fruit.
Lou wants to come clean, but will the truth make it worse? Or she continue to go with the "misunderstanding"?🤥
Hard not to fall in love with the characters portrayed in this book. The steamy scenes are 🔥🔥🔥.
This story kept me at the edge of my seat!
Well written and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ worthy!
The little town of Friendship is a gem. Can hardly wait for Max's story.

The Kinkade Family- Lou has a twin sister Frankie, and we learn in her book how Lou gets the local inn. Now the inn is Lou’s, it’s been remodeled, and for several months operating successfully. Lou welcomes a famous actor, Blaze, who has been staying for a while. He pretty much keeps to himself but one night an accident happens at the inn and Lou has to call for help. Scared that Blaze is going to sue her, she wants to stay in the know. When asked if she is his girlfriend, she ends up agreeing. That news spreads like wildfire. If that isn’t complicated enough, Blaze’s brother Wade, an attorney, comes into town and instantly starts questioning Lou.
Over the weeks, Wade stays in Blaze’s room at the inn, and he and Lou spend a lot of time together. There is an attraction there that neither can deny. But then things get complicated..rumors, tabloids, lies and cover ups, etc.
A pretty big section of this book is centered around Blaze and the accident. As Wade and Lou get closer and form some sort of relationship, that is the plot. They are together, but can they, should they be. We know more about Blaze than we do Wade. I don’t know..it’s up and down for me. Lou is trying to help everyone, but won’t stand up for herself..until she finally does. Then people are mad because she lied, but the lie was to help and really no big deal. I guess everyone likes something different.

𝑴𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔: I adored Lou Kinkade from the very beginning. Her strength and softness were beautifully balanced. Wade, who was initially grumpy and hesitant, couldn't help but warm up to her. Their journey is one of the many reasons this book is a must-read.
The story begins with an accident, and Lou does everything she can to make amends for her slip-up. While she is understandably afraid of the potential scandal, her genuine desire to help Stevens and see Blaze recover shines through.
Blaze's brother, Wade, becomes a source of palpable attraction for Lou, and I loved how their relationship developed as they found solace in each other. I particularly appreciated how Lou began to embrace her true self, gradually dismantling her emotional armor.
Overall, this is a wholesome story filled with themes of love, second chances, and the power of found family.

Dr. Rebecca Sharp delivers another captivating romance in The Innkeeper, the fourth book in The Kinkades series. Elouise "Lou" Kinkade, the quiet and selfless twin, finds herself tangled in a web of misunderstandings when Hollywood star Blaze Stevens takes a drunken fall at her beloved inn. One innocent lie turns her world upside down—especially when Blaze’s overprotective and brooding lawyer brother, Wade, storms in, determined to protect his family.
Lou and Wade’s chemistry is undeniable, building from tension-filled moments to sizzling passion. Wade sees Lou in a way no one else has, and their slow-burn romance is both heartwarming and scorching hot. The small-town charm of Friendship, the Kinkade family’s warmth, and the rich emotional depth make this book impossible to put down.
Sharp’s writing shines with beautifully crafted dialogue, steamy encounters, and a perfect balance of angst and tenderness. Fans of the series will adore Lou’s journey, and newcomers will be eager to dive into the previous books. A must-read for romance lovers!.

I just love this story,so beautifully written. Lou was a person who put other people before her self,a background person,a person that didn't want to be noticed.Until one of her guest 's changed her life, see he took a tumble down her stairs ,put himself in a coma,so she decided to tell a little fib by telling the ambulance driver that she was his girlfriend to ride in the back of the ambulance with him.(she didn't think he should be by himself, she didn't want to be sued,) So the fib got of hand,by the time Blazes family got there, she had to hide it.Wade which was Blaze's brother took one look at her and fell in love her but he knew he couldn't have her,he also knew she wasn't telling the whole truth but by now it is too late the press out for blood on his brother so now both are telling fib to the public to keep his comatose brother secret hidden. This story had a lot of secrets and lies and you could feel the changes that Lou was going thru,it made me feel team Lou,because she deserved love and happiness, to feel like a queen! Can't wait for the next chapter! Also this story is worth more then five stars!👍👍👍👍👏🙌💫
3.75 I LOVE a fake dating trope! Every one is the same, but I eat it up every time. This one was a new take on it and I was just as obsessed. It's her fake boyfriend's (who's in a coma) brother!! I was so into how this one would play out. I have loved Lou from the very beginning of the series. She was the quieter twin. Someone who did everything for others, but not much for herself. One thing she loves is her Inn and she does anything to protect her dream. I did feel like there was a lot of repetition with this story and it had a lull, but over all I'd read anything Dr. Rebecca Sharp writes and ask for more. This whole series reads like Hallmark movies. Where you fall in love with all the town and the side characters are quirky and fun. There are many moments where you start to think "this is way too cheesy." But then the grand gesture or end of the book makes you cry. It's so different from her romantic suspense series that I've read. I love that there are aspects I love in both. I guess I just love her writing. And I mean it when I say, the deeper I get in this series, the more I want. Bring on Max!!!!! I can't wait.
I really liked this one. It was my first book by Dr. Sharp but it won’t be my last. The writing was great, all of the characters were interesting and I enjoyed the plot. I was curious how the author would maintain the “lie” told by Lou, one of the main characters, but she made it very plausible. I could understand why Lou kept up the subterfuge. And Wade was such a sweetheart. He really saw Lou and not only took care of her and protected her when she needed it, but also trusted her to know her own mind and kept encouraging her. And his dirty talk…! The sexy scenes in this book were incredibly hot, with much of the credit going to Wade’s, ahem, way with words. Whew! My one small complaint was that I thought the book felt a little slow at times. It didn’t drag, but I just would have liked it to move a bit quicker. But that’s a very, very small complaint. I’d definitely recommend this one and am looking forward to catching up on the rest of the series and reading the ones to come.

FMC: Elouise “Lou” Kinkade MMC: Wade Stevens Spice: 🌶️🌶️ Pages: 310 Tropes: Small Town Romance, Fake Relationship, Enemies to Lovers, Age Gap, Fake Boyfriend’s Brother, Grumpy/Sunshine Setting: Friendship, Maine
Thoughts: I was a little let down by this book. I felt like the first three books kinda led up to Lou finally owning the Inn, and her story fell flat for me. I thought it focused a little too much on Blaze instead of Lou and Wade. And I felt like it was missing the antics of Lou’s family that were present in the last few books.
This was a different take on a fake relationship. Blaze was in a comma for the entire relationship and Lou had no romantic feelings towards him. She had an instant connection with Wade, but she was caught in the lie she told as it snowballed out of control.
I did like all the little clues that were left about Lou’s cousins. They played a bigger part in this book and Lou seemed to be pretty close to Max and Harper. I liked seeing her come into her own and make the Inn hers.
I absolutely loved Wade and Lou’s story! From the very beginning it was instant chemistry and tension with these two and I enjoyed how their story played out. What starts as a “fake dating his brother” just builds on a forbidden desire to be together. As the lies keep piling and Lou digs in deeper, Wade’s presence makes her hot and drippy for him. It wasn’t super heavy in suspense like her other books, which makes it a fun change up, though there are still some twists to keep you guessing the whats and whys. Lou has always been the shadow to her twin’s sun flare of a personality; wanting to hide and blend in as a plain Jane. Wade sees straight through this façade and wants nothing more than to get to the “real” Lou. The “what do you want” trope is so good and that he wants her to express everything, leaving the ball in her court at every turn. Wade is a smooth, dirty talker and the spice is habanero level! I wasn’t expecting rooting for Lou to come out of her shell and boy did she! These two are fantastic together and I can’t wait for the next books! And of course I loved the cameos of the fam and the setup to the next books in the series!
This is book 4. You can red this alone but you really should read the first 3 books for family details. Lou Kinkade own the local inn. She has dreamed bout owning it for years after finally getting it she is working hard to make it a success. Then tragedy sticks when a famous actor falls down her stairs. Lou doesn’t correct EMG when asked if she is his girlfriend. Enter Wade Steven said brother of actor and lawyer. His attraction to Lou is off the charts but he can’t because she belongs to his brother or does she. This story is well written and is full of moments of emotion passion and feelings. As both try to avoid feeling for each other while getting to know each other. Lou also grows out of her shell. I loved this story . I also loved the fact that the brothers found a bond at the end that both needed, I really hope to have a story with Blaze. But I also can’t wait for next Kankakee family members book .
There is something so compelling about the thoughts and actions of these characters. It is sometimes heartbreaking the boxes the main characters have been forced into due to circumstances and their own caring choices.
Wade's thoughts were particularly eloquent, sometimes downright biting or self-deprecating, and other times....woooooo filthy.
I highlighted so many thoughts, turns of phrases that it felt like it was the whole book. I relished the language, the nuances, the tension and the inner dialogue. The interaction between the family. It was a feast of words, the complexities of relationships, and the oh so glorious tension.
I am definitely glad that I chose this book to read. Now I am about to fall into reading all the books in this series past & future. Woe is me...NOT.

Lou's story is the fourth installment in the Kinkades. She is Frankie's twin, the quiet, generous, outgoing twin that is always there for everyone. She finally opens the Inn she's dreamt of running and owning. She meets Wade, through Blaze, a celebrity hiding out in her Inn.
I rated this a 3.5 star because surprisingly, Lou's story was not my favorite. I think she was too timid and shy for my liking. I thoroughly enjoyed Wade's character his POV The overall writing is always excellent and inviting, but I just could not get into Lou's story, like I could the others. I found it interesting that she did not have quite as much input from her family as the other siblings and character's did in their stories.
I still would recommend this story to someone. It's a small town romance and is light and fluffy. The MMC, Wade, is a grumpy cinnamon roll.
For years, Lou has wanted to own and operate the Lamplight Inn. When her twin, Frankie, is able to swing the funding, Lou's dream finally comes true. One of her first guests is Blaze Stevens, who is taking some time for himself and to stay out of the headlines. A drunken accident sends him tumbling down the steps and Lou has a "situation" to fix. Since he's unconscious, the paramedics assume that Blaze is Lou's boyfriend. When Blaze's brother, Wade, arrives to straighten things out, it's not Blaze that Lou is partial to, but Wade who is more her style. I love this rendering of a fake relationship because the characters are multi-layered and believable. This novel has charm, intrigue and is definitely an enchanting page-turner. It's fantastically written, well balanced and beautifully executed by Dr. Rebecca Sharp.
Amazing book! Warm, heartfelt and a feel good ending.
When movie star Blaze falls in the inn that Lou owns, she fears he will sue. Needing to be at the hospital, Lou says she is his girlfriend, leading her to fake it in front of Blaze's family including his very hot lawyer brother Wade.
Wade and Lou are immediately attracted to each other but Wade doesn't believe she is with his brother. So a whole lot of mistakes take place. But it's a sweet chemistry and an unusual dynamic that makes this book hard to leave alone.
So well done. It's the first in this series I've read so I'll be catching up on the few books before. So good!!.

It’s no secret that I love every book written by this author and when she has a new book coming out, I try to read it right away. I could t wait to start the Innkeeper and it gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me. This book is a romantic, spicy, emotionally complex twist to While You Were Sleeping. Both Lou and Wade are used to pleasing their families, rescuing their siblings, protecting others and while doing that, perhaps, they are not thinking of putting themselves first or thinking how their way of protecting is impacting others.
I loved this book. I didn’t find it as spicy as some of the author’s other books but once I started reading I couldn’t put it down
Great story for Lou Kinkade and Wade Stevens. Here Lou finds herself trying to help one of her guest, a famous movie star by the name of Blaze Stevens, after he has fallen down a flight of stairs at her Inn. She knows he is in very bad shape and she must make her way into the ambulance somehow. The EMT's misunderstand an assume she is his fiance. The lie snowballs when her guests' lawyer brother and mother arrive. Immediately there is a hidden attraction and every time Lou wants to tell the truth she just can't. Blaze was hanging out In town trying to be low key, so secrets need to be kept because he is in a coma and his family does not want the tabloids to get wind of his condition.
Hotelier Elouise ‘Lou’ Kinkade is the last single in her family but finally has her dream. Scandal magnet, actor Blaze Stevens falls down the stairs and needs to be rushed to the hospital. Worried for her hotel, Lou accompanies him and accidently identifies as his girlfriend. Blaze slips into a coma, his ever-pampering mom and lawyer brother, Wade, arrive.
Mom believes Lou and Blaze’s relationship but Wade doesn’t. Making matters more complicated, Wade and Lou develop strong feelings for each other. But Lou keeps the truth to herself hoping knowing her will keep them from suing her over Blaze’s injury. This reader wasn’t pleased with that premise or the outing for that reason. Rating: 2.75stars
