An emotionally charged fantasy romance perfect for fans of “why choose” stories, morally grey men, fierce heroines, and found family bonds.
Ella Ray is a lifelong lover of fantasy, romance, and stories that blur the line between magic and emotion. When she’s not writing fierce heroines, morally grey love interests, and worlds full of danger and desire, she’s likely drinking too much coffee, daydreaming about dragons, or arguing with her fictional characters. She writes for readers who believe in love that defies fate, messy emotions, and the power of found family. When Divinity Ends is her debut fantasy romance series, and she’s just getting started.
I was given an early copy of this book in exchange of my honest review.
I’ve written and re-written this review many times. The concept of the story started out really good, a girl dies in our world and is saved by two gods to try and help them cure the poison blocking them from their worlds. She’s blessed (given unknown powers) and sent to one of the other worlds where demons, shifters and witches coexist. The first third of the book we learn about this world, the relationship between the kingdoms and the gods, and of course there’s some really hot love interests.
However as the romantic aspect of the story develops the plot is lost.
There’s much I didn’t like about the story but I think the main issue is it was a good idea poorly executed. I feel like the FMC was not developed at all so she came out as just annoying and ridiculous at times. I feel like we needed more of her background, we needed to know who she was. Also I would’ve liked to see more of a conundrum from the FMC on how she feels about all the guys, she’s supposedly from earth where monogamy is the norm so she would be conflicted, there’s even a line on the book where she says she was worried about how the others would react but we never actually see that when we follow her thoughts. The third quarter of the book is literally just smut no plot. I would’ve like more development on the political intrigue, it was very surface level and almost cartoony at times.
I understand this is a first time author so for the upcoming books in the series, I hope we stop over-using the words “reverent/reverence” and “possessive/possession”. Please, there’s other words. You also don’t need to say divine every time, you could say heavenly, or holy, deific. I don’t know, there’s a lot of words out there.
The story has potential and the spice was well served so if you’re not too picky you will still enjoy this book, i just found it lacking.
Really great start to a new series. The characters were quickly developed and the plot laid out. I do feel like too much time was spent on the smexy scenes and not the movement of the plot. Kind of dragged a bit in the middle, but quickly picked up towards the end. Was left on a cliffhanger. Looking forward to the next installment.
This was a book that sucks you in! It's easy to get lost for hours in this story as you laugh, feel your heartstrings tugged on, and get to know the characters. I really enjoyed this, and I'm looking forward to the next book!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really wanted to care about this story but I couldn’t push myself past 61%. The premise had potential but the execution felt rushed. Everything happened so fast that it became hard to buy into the world or the relationships. Even though I know this is fantasy romance, there still needs to be some structure and depth to anchor it and I just didn’t feel that here.
The plot skimmed along the surface without ever digging deeper. Luna(the FMC) supposedly has this traumatic past but aside from the occasional flinch, it barely seemed to affect her. The characters lacked the kind of depth that makes me connect with them and the story as a whole felt more like an outline than a fully fleshed out book.
I tried to persevere but in the end I just didn’t care enough to keep going. For me this one was surface level with no real pull.
I got this book as an arc to read and review. I also rate my books different - 5 ⭐️ = will die with this book, I have it in physical and e book, reread constantly and think about it regularly. 4 ⭐️ = think about this book a lot, reread it. 3 ⭐️ = I enjoyed the book, won’t really think about it after I’ve read it, it’s good, may reread. 2 ⭐️ = meh, I don’t think I enjoyed this. I won’t reread it. I I’ll only think about how bad this book is. 1 ⭐️ = I hate this book but also the author took time to write it so deserves a rating for their time and efforts.
I enjoyed this book - but there were aspects that definitely annoyed me. The MMC were cool, and same with the FMC. The story was different and had a lot of potential but kinda missed beings really good book? - it went somewhere but felt a little stagnant at the same time. There were one of two scenes where I was like “Yas! We’re about to get some action/progress!!” And then it fizzled out and turned into angst with the MMCs so we don’t really see her train or learn about herself and her powers. So I was a bit let down on that aspect.
I did like how we didn’t have to wait for 2:3 of the book before the one against it (every RH has one) sorted himself out and gave in. I actually loved it. It saves you getting pissed off at the character and being like “you don’t even know why you’re fighting this anymore and you’re just coming across like an idiot now”. I loved Kai!! He was my favourite of the MMCs. I wish we got more of a background on all of them, it would have been good to get to know them a bit better, same with Luna. I think a bit of backstory would have been good. I wanted to see more of her powers too!
I loved the idea of the book! YAS!! Oh and how it was like the book wanted her to know some things but something was like “ha! Not today!” I thought this whole idea was really cool and something we hadn’t really seen before in a book.
The thing that really annoyed me though - it is a pet peeve so take it with a grain of salt 🧂 - the MMCs see scars and then hear her story (which is confusing in itself as she mentions not remembering a thing before meeting the gods, and then proceeds to remember/tell them everything)… anyway, she tells them her story but right after hearing some horrific story from one of the MMCs. He then proceeds to tell her she’s “the strongest person I’ve ever met you survived so much”…… as do the others at various times throughout. I sat there thinking “one of you was literally tortured as a child… repeatedly and she had a rough upbringing, lived a few years on the run but free, then had a few years really bad.. you’re demons… you would have met some pretty abused people/demons etc…. But she’s the strongest person you’ve ever met.. really? Reeeeeally?” I mean.. sure. But it really annoyed me, it annoys me in all books that say that to the main FMC after you hear about how someone else literally had it worse.
The last few chapters were where most of the action happens - which I enjoy 😊
Overall - I liked this book and am excited to see if book 2 progresses a bit and gives us a bit “more”. Definitely recommend if you want something lite with a bit of angst/spice - about a 2 on the amount of spice, 3 on angst, and 3.5 on the actually spicy spicy scenes. 😁
I received this as an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Great start to a series! The story immediately draws you in, and you have to know what happens next. I do think the writing could be developed a bit more and I am excited to see how the writer grows with the next books in the series. I hope that the other books focus on the FMC background and development a bit more, as some parts of the book felt incomplete/there wasn’t enough character development. I will be waiting for the next books to come out and can’t wait to read them!
Seriously?! This book needed a good editor, or three!
Honestly I’m not going to go into my usual format because this book had potential but was nearly unbearable to read. The plot had so much promise, BUT holy smokes it needed a really good proofreader and editor before being printed. The book spacing is TERRIBLE! There is literally like a paragraph of space between every other sentence. Not to mention when the characters speak they “run into one another.” What I mean is there is no spacing between when one character speaks and the next one does…it just runs right on. So you’re reading about one character saying something when another one is supposed to be speaking. It’s so difficult to read, and makes everything very confusing!!! Frankly it’s pretty unbearable. I’m quite forlorn because the plot had promise. Too bad no one seemed to check this book over before it went to print!
Oh, and there is m/m that happens in book two. Nice that it wasn’t mentioned at all by the author, just thrown into the plot like it was nothing. It gets worse too. The two guys who are our FMC’s fated mates, are mated to each other. That in itself wouldn’t be so bad, but they have a long history with one another and our FMC is totally a third wheel. Ooohhh the author tries to write herself out of this pickle by having one of the two douche canoes “stand up for her,” saying she’s not a third wheel. But the two guys are batshyte crazy for each other and love each other to death. They’re connected at the hip, and our FMC is totally relegated as an afterthought. Again, the author tries to scramble by having her other mates “comfort” her and take the strain off of the fact that she’s mated to two idiots that love each other much more than they love her, but it just becomes a comedic mess of errors. Our FMC should NEVER have been mated to these two idiots who are fated mates to each other. It’s unbalanced and ridiculous, not to mention so jarring it isn’t even funny!! This series is a mess…from the spacing, the terrible editing, and the awful plot progression!! Ugh. I’m done. I can’t waste anymore time on this series. I had hoped that book two would have corrected the mistakes in book one…surprise…it didn’t!!!! If anything it’s worse…AND again, we get m/m content that was never mentioned in the foreword. Yup. Just over it. Your brain will literally hurt if you read this awful series.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect since this is the debut novel by this author, but I was pleasantly surprised. I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review, therefore the copy wasn't completely edited and cleaned up. Because of that there were a few grammatical errors, typos, etc. Nothing that greatly affected the story. The beginning of the novel hooked me, as it reminded me of an isekai (genre in manga and anime). It was also fairly fast paced, and I wish there was a little more world building throughout the FMC's experience with the divinity and in Terra. More descriptors of the landscape, the castle, etc. would have rounded out the narrative a bit more. Overall the author gives enough descriptor for us to get the general idea of the environment, and is more descriptive with the characters. The initial installment of this series seems to create many questions that aren't answered in this novel, but will need to be in subsequent installments. This book is a good foundation that the author can build upon in following books in the series, but flushing out details that were skipped or glossed over in this book. This first book in the series, ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger, but will be a nice segue into the new environment that the FMC and MMCs find themselves in. I'm fairly pleased that I don't know where the narrative will go next, which is something I appreciate in novels. There were also quite a few sex and intimate scenes that I very much appreciated. I enjoy more candid and erotic descriptions of sexual encounters in books like this, so if you don't enjoy a little smut worked into a plot heavy novel, this title may not be for you 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Overall, this is a good start to what could possibly be an amazing series. I'm looking forward to the next book!
I really enjoyed the beginning of Luna's story! The world building has me invested from the start, looking forward to finding out more about the history and divinity throughout the rest of the series! I enjoyed the pacing; definitely a medium to fast paced romance with the spiciness. The twists and turns kept me interested too, the ending has me wanting to find out what happens next!
I liked Luna's character so far and enjoying the moments where she seems to be going "dark" and "not in control of herself". Her divine powers are still a mystery for the most part so looking forward to her developing them further. She has been through a lot in the past but is slowly growing stronger under the guidance of her love interests.
Hunter is definitely the dominant, protective lover whose always a fan of control which Luna is the chaos he is trying to figure out. Jax is the protective warrior whose prepared to defend Luna with his last breath. Kai is definitely my favourite being the flirty, charming joker of the three and breaks the ice with his charming ways. They were all fleshed out personality wise and looking forward to finding out more about their pasts and watching the relationships develop further!
I'd definitely recommend this book if you like fantasy and fast paced romance! Excited for book two!
If you’re looking for a book that will suck you in from the very beginning this is it! I finished in less than 24 hours! This was a great start of a series. There is world building, drama, found family, fated mates, lovable FMC and MMCs, plot twists, and a cliff hanger ending that makes you excited to see what happens next.
Luna, Hunter, Jax and Kai have all experienced their own forms of trauma that helps draw them together. You can tell they need each other and they provide a sense of security and belonging to one another. Seeing their bond grow throughout their journey was a great experience.
It’s hard to not like Luna in my opinion. While she is affected by her life experiences, you get to see her let go and learn herself in this new life. She’s a fighter. Her relationship with each of the MMCs is different. Hunter is the Shadow Daddy with a need for control. She balances this with her chaos. Jax is the protective teddy bear. I feel like he grounds her the most. Kai is charming and witty. He’s the one that provides the banter and keeps the group light. I loved all 3 of them for different reasons but Jax was my favorite. The spice in this book was well done to me. It’s not overly done so you lose the plot and you’re not waiting all the way to the end for something to happen.
Definitely recommend this book and can’t wait for book 2!
It started off well. Then I found myself consistently annoyed by the way things were done.
(Spoilers)
Completely skipped over her upbringing only to give a quick summary later, rushed through her meeting of the gods, the guys accepted her pretty quickly after initially planning to kill her. Once she started training we promptly skipped all the other sessions and focused on her sleeping with the guys page after page. And then when it started to get interesting again near the end, it also kind of felt like they were being silly with dumb mistakes in the way they handled everything. Hunter did not feel like a ‘King’ at any point of this book. I also hate when authors use cheap tricks to make things work like the language barrier - just suddenly working because of a spell and yet words like ‘slut, whore’ were all still common.
I dunno, I loved the premise, but definitely feel it needs a few revisions. I really struggled to get through to the end and I won’t be continuing the series sorry. But gave it two stars because I feel the author has done an incredible job just putting it out there, simply needs some further editing.
Divine Endings was a great read and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series as this one ends with a cliffhanger ending. Luna had not had an easy life, but she is given a second chance. I don't want to give too much away but I will say that her second chance gives her powers beyond her imagination and control, but she gets help from the Demon King Hunter, his General Jax and his Spymaster Kai whether she wants it or not. They see Luna as a threat. She's a mystery to them but she's also impulsive with a smart mouth. However, the more time they spend together, the more they realize what they actually mean to each other. But not everyone is happy with the situation, and the threats and betrayal are just the start of it. There is corruption killing the land and the people, enemies are gathering, and the fight for survival comes head-to-head. I'm excited to read what happens next. This story was full of mystery, laugh out loud banter and moments, steamy scenes, deaths, threats, enemies, corruption, thievery, betrayal and unexpected twists and turns.
A cozy romantasy adventure with a healthy dose of pending doom
I was truly sucked into this book and held captive. It's definitely character driven with a plentiful side of plot. Luna is a sassy little minx, and I love her commentary and sarcasm. She's exactly the kind of fmc I look for. The relationships that develop are so wholesome. I was grinning and kicking my little feet at times. The spice levels rise slowly throughout the book and are *chefs kiss*. Honestly, I wouldn't mind drowning myself if it meant I got whisked away and plopped down in the middle of this world. we'd just have to turn a blind eye to the political unrest, the powers that we'd have to learn to control, and the potential dangers that are fast approaching... those just add to the fun, right?
I can't wait to see where this story goes and how the characters continue to develop. I'm itching to know how everything pans out. Highly recommend!
First off- absolutely hated the formatting. Read on Kindle and there was no indents anywhere. It was a harder flow for me. Now, I didn’t hate the book. I think there were good bones to it. Some of the descriptive words are a little overkill. Some parts felt rushed and left no explanation. I will continue to read the series and see if it gets better. I know girlie had a traumatic experience and all, but I felt like it was covered in like one page and that’s it. Hunter- I hope when I read on it gives a little more his backstory too. Like he was a prince, escaped his dad’s rule and then set up shop somewhere else and was king? Jax actually did nothing for me. Kai- eh. Shifter King- seriously. 🤣 F those lords. We all saw that coming. Like I said, I will read the next book, but really hope it gets better and the character develop a little more for me.

I sadly had to dnf this book at 25%. This book had sooooo much potential but...
It felt flat to me. Both the characters and the story.
At 10% the men already fancied her and she was telling them all of her secrets.
I did not feel ANY power from them king. Its like hes just there.
At 25% they already found her powers and know what she can do and there was no struggle finding it.
Everything just felt too easy. Too emotionless, too... Flat.
I feel like ALL of the most used tropes had already been used, -nigthmare - moaning at food - tortured fmc - most powerful fmc - white hair because of traume - bullies in the training yard.. just to mention a few.
I really wanted to like this book but its like the writer just wrote all of the most popular tropes into ai and made a book out of it.
Im sorry but its a no for me.

Divine Endings is a thrilling fantasy romance about Luna and her mates, filled with adventure, emotional depth, and surprise twists. The chemistry between the characters is strong, and the story kept me hooked from beginning to end. Just when things seem settled, the discovery of a new mate adds even more excitement and sets the stage for the next book.
I found it genuinely engaging and would absolutely recommend it to fans of fantasy romance, especially those who enjoy “why-choose” dynamics, strong female leads, and steamy, suspenseful storytelling.

This story is about Luna, a human thrust into a world of demons, witches and shapeshifters.
Imbued with powers from the gods, she is tasked with finding out what is poisoning the land of Terra and blocking the gods from their people.
Lima gets captured by the demons and is thought to be a spy. Brought before the King of Demons, she pleads her case. The king, Hunter, believes her story and decides to train her to fight and gain use of her powers.
Lima is joined by Jax, a warrior, and Kai, a half witch, half incubus.
As Luna works with the three men she starts to form bonds with them.
Will Luna gain access to her powers? Who will she choose between the three men? How will she find what's poisoning the land and blocking the gods?
Devine Endings is the first book in the series. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
This book had everything I could want: fantasy, fun romance, and a tight and quick-moving plot with little filler. The one thing it didn't have? A voice. Right away in the prologue, I, as the reader, felt disconnected from the world. It wasn't for lack of interesting things to draw you in, but the way it was written, the verbiage, and structure made it feel like I was reading about the story instead of being able to get immersed in it. This, sadly, continued throughout the whole book. If the author could have drawn me in and made the story feel lived in, the score would be much higher.

Book 2 can’t come fast enough. I was hooked from the beginning. I am so frustrated with the cliffhanger ending. How much crazier can Luna’s life get?
First Luna dies, and is thrust into an unknown world. Where she meets Kai (Incubi), Hunter (Demon King), and Jax (War Demon), whom she can’t help but mouth off too due to her feisty nature.
This story has ups and downs, betrayal, and love, but can their relationship flourish in the midst of all this chaos? Hunker down for the lightning storm that is Divine Endings and Enjoy the story.

This book definitely swept me away! From the first few chapters, I was hooked—and the unexpected plot twists just kept coming. I especially loved Luna, the FMC. Her snarky, sharp-witted voice made every scene a joy to read. She's thrust into a completely new world and handles it with an admirable mix of humor, strength, and relatability.
The magic system is well explained, the romance is slow-burn and satisfying, and there are some great emotional moments woven in—especially around Luna’s inner conflicts and some amazing plot twists ;).
To start off this review I want to say I am usually not a fan of the “reverse harem” trope which sadly I still am not particularly a fan. I still am giving this book a five because even with that being said I really enjoyed this book overall! I would love to read more books by this author that aren’t Reverse Harem and I’d probably love it without a doubt but I still enjoyed this book. And I will probably read the next one in this series if she writes more (which by the ending I think there will be) ALSO THAT ENDING MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD!
This book was a fast and fun read. It starts off straight away establishing Luna as a human girl who is dragged into a mysterious otherworld, gifted with some pretty wild powers and a destiny, of course. She crosses paths with three mysterious men who are tasked with helping to train her to use her to use these new powers. The king of demons, Hunter, warrior Jax and witch/incubus,Kai. Of course, ‘Why choose’? Indeed! That said, the book ends on a cliffhanger I did NOT see coming at all! Eagerly awaiting the next chapter,to see where all of this takes Luna.
I have read a lot of why choose romance / romantasy, and i will tell you this book will come on my shelf as a trophy.
I fell in love with the fast paced writing style and all the characters. We know enough from the fmc her past that would be important in the present. It is a dark but also comfort story with demons ;)
We all love a good plot but you also want to read a why choose for the good chemestry and tension between the charactars with hot smut. You will 100% get that with this book.
I will recommend this book to all my friends and booktok besties.
I quite enjoyed that, not sure why it doesn't have more reads. I do suppose with the amount of books being pushed on Insta and other social media sites, the actual gems are being ignored.
My main issue with this book was having to guess who's pov it was.
The plot is relationship driven. I'm here for it. Just wish Luna could have her tormentors tortured too. Seems unfair they get off scot-free.
Bottom line is this book is not bad, lately I've endured so so so much worse and those books miraculously got 5*
couldn't finish it.. dnf after 50% Bad writing, sounds like a Fan fic from a teenager.
The beginning was so random. No backstory, no extra information.
Luna's personality changed suddenly multiple times. In the beginning she was timid and almost died and suddenly she became a bad bitch and an assassin?
Also the love interests didn't had that much depth to them.
In total i feel like this book was a mess. The idea was good, just not how it turned out. Some had to read this out loud to a group of people before publishing, bc this doesn't sound like a good book at all
The first chapter hooked me instantly. It was fast paced and I was eager to see what happened next. However, after the first few chapters things slowed down. There was a lot of focus on smut scenes instead of the overall plot. Ended in a cliff hanger, which makes me want to read what happens in the next book. If you like smut and fantasy, this book is for you!

3.5 rounded up Loved the writing style and journey the characters went one but it felt like there were some gaps in the story. Things started to really slow down loosing the forboding, tense, and urgent feeling that the author worked hard to build up. However the end hit strong and I look forward to book 2!.

Luna is saved by gods and sent to a new world to investigate a poison thats been unleashed. Loved the concept and am so interested in the story but I felt like the plot got pushed aside for relationship development. However the relationships were great! I am interested to see where the series goes next.
