Fighting for You was such a great read, and I loved finally getting the fourth Wright sister’s story. Delaney was amazing, I connected with her so much, especially her love for kids, and the nanny aspect was one of my favorite parts. The nanny trope always gets me, and this book did it so well.

Noah was such a great character too. I loved seeing how he stepped into that father-figure role for Charlotte and always put her first. The mystery and suspense woven into the story kept things interesting, and everything just fit together perfectly.

And I’m so excited because it looks like we’re getting a redemption arc for a future character. I honestly can’t wait for the last Wright sister’s book!!

Another great romantic suspense novel from Robin Patchen! This is book 8 in the Wright Heroes of Maine, but it could stand alone. There is some allusion to events in Capturing You, but you don't necessarily have to read that one to enjoy this one. But it does create a richer experience to read the books in order. This book follows Delaney Wright, who disappeared after the events of Capturing You and we catch up with her in Virginia seeking out a job as a nanny. Once she proves her mettle to Noah Aylett, she falls head over heels for his little niece she's been hired to watch. When she begins to also fall for him, she finds herself in danger more than once. And though this story takes place primarily in Virginia, we do get to catch up with the other Wright sisters towards the end of the book.

Though I read a lot of suspense books and can therefore often pinpoint the villain early on, this one threw me for a few loops. I was able to identify one character relatively early on, but wasn't sure how their story would play out, so this one was definitely an enjoyable ride. Unlike some of the other books in the series, this one was not all action all the way through (if it was, poor Charlotte would have been even more traumatized), which left a lot of room for character development and the romance element of the romantic suspense. The story still moved at a good pace and though I'm heavily plot-driven in my reading preferences, this was still a thoroughly enjoyable ride. I adored young Charlotte and how she was so central to both the romance and the suspense elements of the story. And I enjoyed seeing the growth in both character and faith for Noah and Delaney. It never ceases to amaze me how God uses my favorite authors to hit me square between the eyes with some lesson he is trying to teach me, but I had tears during one of the ending scenes of the book when Noah gave Delaney a gift for a reason that I definitely needed to hear in my own spirit. All in all, this was a thoroughly enjoyable story and one I can heartily recommend to fans of clean/Christian/inspirational romantic suspense stories. I look forward to the next story and reading about the youngest Wright sister (and I'm hoping to learn more about Noah's brother as well!) Special thanks to the author for an advance e-copy of this book! I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

Robin Patchen just keeps writing these awesome books. When I know another on is coming I get so excited! This one is book 8 of the Wright Heroes of Maine and its another page turner. We have Delaney who we heard about in previous books but this is a stand alone,it is a bit more enriching if you read them in order. She left Shadow Cove, her hometown when she found out her boyfriend was a crimminal and she lost all her confidence in herself. She travels to a town by the ocean in Virginia and starts looking for a job there. She comes across a nanny job which is what she loves to do. There she meets Noah Aylett and his niece Charlotte who is 4 years old. She finally proves herself capable to Noah and she falls in love with Charlotte who is a very traumatized little girl! Delaney breaks through to her and they become very close and then she finds herself falling for Noah as well, that's when she finds herself in danger more then once. All the while Noah is trying to keep from letting any scandal touch them. He's in the middle of closing a very important business deal. The danger is coming from all directions and the villains through me for a loop a few times. I really identified with Delaney with her love of children the way she connected with Charlotte and also with her loss of confidence when making the wrong decisions. I loved the way Noah just stepped up to be Charlottes father figure and kept making her feel safe. This book didn't have the constant suspense her other ones had but with a 4 year old in it it,was just the right amount. I was amazed at how she grew her characters and there faith in every story! I cannot wait until her next book with the youngest Wright sister in it. This book was a very enjoyable read I highly recommend it and give it 5 stars! I want to thank this author for an early Arc of this book, my review and opinions are my own.

Rebuilding Life after Painful Betrayal

Intrigue…. Yes
Suspense…. Definitely
Inspiration …. For sure
Redemption … In more ways than one
Drama … Wait for it, it’s definitely there

Betrayal always hurts and sometimes you just have to get out of town, away from family and friends to prove to yourself and others that you ‘can make it’ on your own.

This is Delaney Wright’s situation… and yes, she’s definitely a Wright, the family loaded with brains and braun… and beauty. She fell for the wrong man and needed to get away…. away from memories, from gossip and even from family. It’s not easy being a Wright.

Determined to get a new start she leaves the family home in Maine and heads to Virginia where she meets Noah Aylett… and no, it’s definitely not ‘love at first sight’. Noah has his own problems. He needs a nanny badly. His little niece, who is malnourished and has been abused, is dumped off on him. Noah feels heavy pressure to maintain the family legacy. Easier said than done. He needs to keep the family business running and make sure little Charlotte, who he calls Charlie-bear, is loved.

Enter Delaney Wright, who applies for Noah’s open nanny position and immediately is rejected. Noah judged her at first impression without knowing any background. He soon finds out that was a BIG mistake. If you know anything about the Wrights you know they are protectors and Delaney certainly doesn’t shame the family name. It doesn’t take Noah long to realize he misjudged her and immediately pleads for her to take the nanny post.

This is another storyline that keeps you turning the pages needing to see how it will end … and yes, two of the Wrights step in and play a small but very important role assisting Delaney. It was soooo good to ‘see’ them again.

This was a different story that focused more on character development than on suspense at every turn like other Wright Hero books. I enjoyed it very much. There was still the "threat" of suspense and the worry of things to come but it wasn't running from constant danger that was prevalent in the other books. A nice change! I love both scenarios!
Delaney has had to get out of Maine and away from her family for a while to see if she can make it on her own after her last relationship fiasco. She's about hit rock bottom but she's going to prove to herself and her family that she doesn't need dad's money or connections to survive! She heads to Virginia and hopes to find a nanny job there because that's what she's good at. However, as money becomes scarce and jobs are hard to find, she doesn't know what to do...until she rescues darling Charlotte from a bad nanny at a park. I absolutely loved Charlotte! I'm a sucker for a neglected child! She's finally been given to her Uncle Noah as a guardian but he's clueless as to how to raise a 4-year-old! He has a big business merger in the works and a little girl who needs so much attention. He loves her dearly, but he's divided in two directions, not to mention people breaking into his house and scary things ramping up his worry monitor!!! Now he hires Delaney as the perfect nanny, but does she have to be so beautiful, and does he have to be so attracted to her?
Both Delaney and Noah have personal issues to work through and as I said, the character development was fantastic in this one! I highly recommend it!

What do you get when you bring together a wealthy business owner, a young girl who was practically dropped on his doorstep, and a beautiful young woman who is seeking a job as a nanny? I suppose that depends on a number of factors. I loved the way Robin Patchen wove Charlotte as an integral part of the story. I cannot imagine the story without Charlotte. Noah was working with all he had to keep the legacy of his family alive while his brother Jasper did who knows what. Well, we know he fathered a daughter and left her with Noah to care for and provide for when she was four years old. Delaney, the next to youngest daughter of the Wright family of Maine, has chosen to relocate to Driftwood, Virginia, to prove to herself and her family, specifically her father, that she can make it on her own. The further I got into the book, the more questionable that became. Noah desperately needed a nanny for Charlotte, and Delaney desperately needed a job before her funds ran out making it necessary to return home. Come along for the ride to see how all this works out. The three leading characters made for a wonderful story of intense drama, fast-paced action, romance, love for a child, and faith. With multiple villains, there was no time for them to slow down and catch their breath. I have to admit there were times when I was practically biting my nails while other times I was ready to tackle some bad guys. I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

Fighting for You
By Robin Patchen

Another amazing book by author Robin Patchen. This is the eighth book in the Wright Heroes of Maine series. This book is also considered a stand-alone book.

You first meet Noah Aylett, he is a businessman working at MidAtlantic the technology company his father built. Noah’s brother Jasper left his four-year old daughter, Charlotte in Noah’s care.

Next you meet Delaney Wright, she is the second youngest sister out of five daughters. Delaney is new to Driftwood, Virginia and is in need of a job. When a job for a nanny comes up, Delaney is sure this is the right job for her based on her experience with children.

Delaney is living at a women’s shelter and is desperate to make it on her own without her father’s money. On the day of the interview, her outfit gets dirty and she must wear one of the other women’s shirts. Unfortunately, the shirt she borrows smells of cigarette smoke.
When she gets to the interview at Noah’s house he immediately can smell the cigarette odor and before she can even get a word in, he says this isn’t going to be a good fit and slams the door in her face. Delaney is devastated and doesn’t understand what happened.

A few days later Delaney is at the park and she recognizes Charlotte. Charlotte has a new nanny and when she wanders off the nanny is not paying attention. Delaney intervenes and stops Charlotte from getting lost. Delaney confronts the nanny and as she’s talking to her Noah comes to see what’s going on. He was watching the nanny from afar and saw everything that was happening. He immediately fires the nanny and hires Delaney for the job.

Delaney takes Charlotte to the park and notices someone was watching them. She tells Noah and he is concerned because right before he hired Delaney someone tried to break into his house while he and Charlotte were home. As Delaney notices more incidents and feels like she’s being watched. The incidences increases and things start to get dangerous.

Noah and Delaney must work together to figure out who is behind everything that’s been going on before someone gets hurt.

Come along on this action-packed, page-turning adventure. I highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed.

Happy Reading!

Having been raised in a wealthy home in a small town where the Wright name carried a lot a weight, Delaney was anxious to strike out and prove to her family, and to herself, that she could make it on her own. Ending up in a homeless shelter hadn't been part of the plan, and Delaney was thrilled, and a bit nervous, about finally landing a job as nanny to a four-year-old little girl who had experienced more than her share of trauma. Noah Aylett had not anticipated becoming the legal guardian of his niece, but here he was trying to meet her needs as she adjusted to living in a new place with someone she did not know well and had yet to learn to trust, while also trying to keep his business, his father's legacy, afloat. You can foresee how these two protagonists' lives are about to become connected. What you cannot foresee are the many challenges, dangers, and fears Robin Patchen has written into their lives. The themes of trust, compassion, and priorities are well-developed as the intrigue and suspense play out and the beginnings of romance struggle to emerge. I highly recommend this five star read.

Fighting for You works well as a stand alone read, but readers will appreciate the story more if they read the Wright Heroes of Maine series in order. I really enjoy that Patchen writes lengthy series that allow her readers to become invested in her characters. I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of this book from the author via Book Funnel without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Right Balance

I love the action and suspense. The writing is tight which means to the point and well stated. The story is very exciting. The characters are strong which I like a lot. Some Christian romantic suspense books seem to have very passive adults. Not a fan of that, but Robin Patchen always delivers characters with real personality and chutzpa.

I do not care for the tropiness like the reason why the main characters think they should not be together. I do like how Delaney resolved her internal conflicts by talking to her cousin.

My biggest problem is that the couples aren’t married yet. Seriously, do adults that age wait YEARS to tie the knot? I think it unlikely. I guess the rest of the plots are unlikely as well, but that is why we read romantic suspense! Lol. Anyway, what’s the holdup on the couples marrying? Extended dating relationships take the passion out of the romance. I am not talking wedding but marriage. I don’t care for long scenes with lots of descriptions about wedding paraphernalia, but marriage because the couples cannot stand to be apart.

Anyway, I have loved almost all the books in this series. One aspect I like is the thoughtful discussion about the trauma that witnessing, experiencing, and committing violence brings. This adds authenticity to the books because it raises some real world moral implications as well as psychological insights. At heart, though, the books are just plain, clean fun.

This might be my favorite book in this series so far. I love that Delaney got her story — and what a story it was, with romance, suspense, and faith wrapped in the perfect package. The depth of character, and heartfelt, deeply touching emotions was the bow on top that made it that much more beautiful.

Noah has always been the fixer in his family, watching out for his brother and now parenting his niece. He’s determined to succeed, but feels inadequate and overwhelmed by the responsibility of caring for a four-year-old the right way. He’s trying to make the best of the situation while saving the family legacy. I love this guy—not only is he good looking in the swoon worthy way I expect Robin’s heroes to be, but he’s a really good man. Be still my heart.

Delaney’s path to independence and to Noah is not easy. She is her own worse enemy and at the same time her greatest motivator. I love that her path isn’t easy, that her relationship with Noah has to be worked for, and that the end is so much better than the beginning. I was thrilled to ride along on her journey.

This book had the perfect balance of love, doubt, excitement, suspense, and an adorable little girl. I absolutely recommend it to every romantic suspense reader out there.

"Who was the pretty lady?"

Noah Aylett's business driven lifestyle was upended the moment his wayward brother deposited a four year old daughter into Noah's care. Facing a particularly crucial crossroads involving a lucrative merger for his family's tech company, Noah decides to hire a live-in nanny to care for his precious Charlie-Bear during the daytime hours. Imagine his surprise when a lovely young woman knocks on his door.

Delaney Wright is determined to make a life for herself without the help of her family or their money. Upon arrival in a quaint coastal Virginia community, she seeks employment based on her vast experience as a nanny. After being summarily dismissed from the Aylett estate, Delaney is plagued with doubts about her decision to leave home, when a chance encounter in a local park brings her back to the attention of Noah Aylett.

Sounds like a sweet contemporary romance, right? On one level it certainly is exactly that. However, rumbling beneath the surface are multiple unseen fissures just waiting to crack wide open, challenging everything and everyone that Noah and Delaney have come to hold dear.

"A woman was standing on the sidewalk. She held a handgun - aimed at Delaney."

Ms. Patchen has given us another awesome story about the Wright family. This time with the brothers' cousins, a family of five sisters. They are also from Shadow Cove, Maine. Delaney is the 2nd youngest sister, and after all the excitement of the last book, she just disappeared, embarrassed about the secrets that came out. Delaney isn't like her sisters. She doesn't have big dreams about what she wants to be. She wants the simple things of life, and because of this, she feels like she is a disappointment to her family. Delaney steps into a whirlwind that is a great story. Lots of excitement, suspense, romance, and intrigue! By the time I got to a certain point in the story, I wasn't able to put it down! You will love the new characters, the Aylett’ brothers, Noah, and Jasper. Charlotte, a very sweet little girl, worms her way into your heart. Don't miss this suspenseful read. it's great, and I can't wait for the next book. I feel like I know secrets about Jasper that I want to find out if I'm right!

Delaney Wright was determined to make it on her own without the help of her affluent family; however, circumstances forced her to a shelter. And then she was summarily dismissed when she applied for a nanny position for Noah Aylett's sweet 4-year-old niece but when Delaney rescued Charlotte from what could have been a dangerous situation, Noah has to re-think having Delaney as a nanny, especially as Charlotte becomes quickly attached to her. However, when Delaney accepts the nanny position, she unwittingly walks into danger. Someone is stalking her, but who and why? Is it related to a business deal of her employer or to a woman who is obsessed with believing Noah belongs to her? And what about precious little Charlotte who so desperately needs stability and love in her life?

This is a clean, fascinating, fast-paced story which I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. I received an ARC of this book; the opinions expressed above are strictly my own.

Another book in the series about the Wright sisters - cousins of the brothers in previous books. Delaney is a nanny and feeling inferior to her “talented” sisters BUT … when a little girl, Charlotte, needs love and special care, Delaney is the perfect person! Charlotte’s Uncle, Noah, is a bachelor and taking care of her but completely outside of his comfort level or experience. With outside forces prompting the need for more intentional protection, both Noah and Delaney must do all they can to ensure the safety of this little girl.
This book is not as fast paced as previous books in the series but, it had me engaged from the very first pages and I was impressed with the many ways the welfare of this little girl was a priority. I’m sure time spent with these latest characters will touch your heart.

This book is about the fourth Wright sister and the one I most wanted to read about. Delaney was in the book "Capturing You" about Brooklyn and Forbes but she left town after finding out what a loser her boyfriend was. Now we know where she went.

Delaney gets work as a nanny for Noah Aylett's niece after Charlotte is "dumped" on him by her father Jasper. Delaney instantly bonds with Charlotte and helps her recover from her traumatic past. Until the present and the past collide. This is my favorite book about the sisters. The twist and turns left me both exhausted and wanting more.

Can't wait till the next book about the last sister, Kenzie, and her future beau.

I received an ARC from the Author. This review is both voluntary as well as honest. I love the series and recommend all of the books. I intend to purchase a copy after it's release.

Fitting title for this story!

Noah, Delaney, and Charlotte’s journey to a forever family is definitely a fight from the beginning to the end. So much baggage, so many circumstances and people stand in their way.

They all find where they truly belong…..together forever. They face dangers, betrayals, questions, doubts, and their own fears. Noah and Delaney learn to trust each other completely, with their heart and life.

It was a good story with lots of suspense and danger, as well as love and happiness. I cheered for the new little family, but I also hurt for Jasper! I’m looking forward to his story coming soon. And don’t miss the bonus epilogue….it puts the cream on top of the ice cream!

I received a complimentary copy from the author and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review.

Sometimes, all we can do is our best and trust God with the rest.

Trying to find her place in the world has been tough for Delaney Wright. She has always felt that she just doesn’t measure up as far as her father is concerned. Noah Arletta has taken custody of his young niece and needs help. Hopefully this new job as a nanny for young Charlotte will be the answer for both of their problems.

Noah is working on a merger for his company and doesn’t need any slander in order to push it through. It would appear, unfortunately, that the scandal finds him anyway. Lies and threats are just the beginning. Will this merger cost him more than it will gain?

An early copy of The Wright Heroes of Maine Book 8 was received through JDO Publishing and BookFunnel. These thoughts are my own and were in no way solicited.

Fighting for You is a story of perseverance, of caring for others even when it might hurt yourself. It's about faith and trust - having them in others, seeing them broken, seeing them restored. This story, like all the great books by Robin Patchen, is exciting and well-written. Sometimes it keeps you on edge, sometimes it has you tearing up, sometimes it has you cheering. I especially enjoyed seeing one of the Wright sisters striking out on her own - not wanting to succeed because of who her family is, but because of who she is. Fighting for You has some deeper life teachings you can glean from it as well, which makes me love it that much more. Read it. Enjoy it. Plan to stay up late to finish it...!

This was a good book, but it did take me a little while to really like Noah. Delaney was desperate to prove to her family that she could make it on her own, and Noah was trying to save his family’s legacy. That caused some clashes, especially from Noah, but there was a precious little girl named Charlotte who needed them both. It was really sweet to see how well Delaney connected with Charlotte, but it was also good to see how much Charlotte and Noah loved and connected with each other. As they went through danger and suspenseful twists and turns, Delaney and Noah both had to re-think their priorities to take care of what really mattered. It took effort from everyone for a happy ending – which thankfully was quite wonderful.

After getting betrayed by her boyfriend, Delaney flees her home in Maine for a small town in Virginia. She wants to start over in a place where no one knows her past or her family. It's only that starting over is so hard.

Businessman Noah suddenly becomes guardian to his four year old niece. He loves her to know end yet needs to work to keep the family business and home thriving.

Noah and Delaney cross paths when her experience as a nanny could meet Noah's need for his beloved niece Charlotte. Unfortunately, there are rocky waters ahead...

This is my favourite story of the Wright series by far. Reading Delaney’s story and quest for making it on her own two feet without the help of her family money was heartwarming. I loved how Robin Patchen wove a story of dealing with class prejudice, family duty and really pride into a beautiful story of redemption, thriving in the calling that God has for you and continually showing up. I loved how Noah showed up in ways that showed his character, like raising his brother’s daughter, but also wrestling with caring too much about what people thought of him and his family legacy. I enjoyed it very much and finished it way too soon.

A suspenseful romantic book which you won't want to put down. Delaney thought she found her dream job as nanny to Charlotte as she is searching for independence from her family but faces some terrifying dangerous incidents with life threatening outcomes. To top it off, she struggles with her growing feelings for her employer as Noah faces business and personal problems of his own. Which is more important money or family? A bittersweet ending which will give you both joy and sadness. Can't wait for the next installment of this series. Highly recommend! Received an ARC and this is my voluntary honest review.

I was given an ARC of this book to read for my honest review. This book was different from the other Wright family stories in that there wasn’t an evil villain after Delaney or Noah from the beginning. Or is there… someone broke into Noah’s house, someone is following Charlotte around, Charlotte is the little girl Delaney is caring for. Someone is trying to ruin Noah’s business and threatening Delaney. This book was very entertaining in that you have a hard time figuring out who all the bad people are. There is also a crazy woman after Noah. So as we have grown to expect from Robin, there is never a dull moment.

This is Delaney and Noah’s story and oh, what a story! Noah is raising his brother’s daughter, Charlotte, and what a sweet girl she is! Delaney is the nanny. If you’re like me, those pages will keep turning, trying to figure out the twists and turns, through a break in, auto accident, a stalker, kidnapping, not to mention Noah’s business is threatened, yet enjoying the ride to a happy ending! I love everything this author writes and this book is another one I can recommend. Always looking forward to what comes next. I did receive an ARC to read and review.

I love this series where the characters go through so much to be together. Book 8 in the series focuses on Delaney Wright. She ran from Shadow Cove after being betrayed by her boyfriend. She gets a job as a nanny to a beautiful Four year old named Charlotte. She becomes attached to the little girl, not so much her grumpy uncle, Noah. This is an action packed story that will keep you in suspense until the final page. I would recommend it to readers who enjoy a HEA in their stories. Another amazing book from Robin Patchen! I loved Delaney from the start and the way she connected with Charlotte. The storyline was well developed and kept me guessing til the end. I especially loved the cameos from a few past Wright family members— I always love seeing crossover characters from other books. It’s one of my favorite things about reading series. I can’t wait to see how the story continues with the youngest Wright sister.

I enjoyed this family story. A brother who wants nothing to do with his 4 year old daughter.
Another brother Noah takes her into his home to love and to protect
her.. He needs a nanny and none of the woman he has interviewed seemed
suitable. Delaney flees a betrayal from her boyfriend and needing a job to start
rebuilding her life. I enjoyed this book and I recommend this author others books

What a great read. Fighting for You is Delaney's story. She was able to connect with Charlotte and was patient, kind, and nurturing. Noah stepped in as a father-figure for Charlotte when her own father wasn't' able to take care of Charlotte.
This story has plenty of suspense, danger, tension, and a good mystery. The chemistry between Delaney and Noah was evident as they tried fighting the attraction between boss/nanny. Can't wait for the next one.
