He said he loved me. Maybe not in those exact words, but it still counted.
While on a business trip, Sara meets a handsome man, Jermaine, and they instantly connect. Well, that's what Sara thought. When she finds out the other people are stressing her man out, she does everything in her power to keep him relaxed. Even if that means getting her hands dirty.
JD Southwell, a proud Texan, embraces her roles as a devoted wife, passionate author, and aspiring businesswoman. Identifying as a functioning introvert, JD channels her love for reading into crafting romance books filled suspense and fantasy, finding joy in the diverse worlds that literature offers. In the peaceful quiet of the night, her creativity thrives as she weaves stories inspired by the characters and adventures she encounters within the pages of books. When she's not writing, you can often find her in the kitchen baking delicious treats, rewatching her favorite shows and movies, or cherishing moments with family and friends.
This is a quick read about a woman who knew what she wanted and who stopped at nothing to get it. Some might call her delusional, but the deranged call her persistent, lol. This is a must read I found during #brae2025
If DELULU was a person it would be Sara🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. That girl was sick in the head. It kinda reminded me of “A Thin Line Between Love & Hate” 😭😭😭😭. I feel like with the way it ended, it should be a part 2
Sara goes on a simple business trip and somehow ends up claiming a whole man in her mind. Jermaine smiles at her one good time and suddenly sis decides he is her peace, her purpose, and her problem to solve. When she realizes other people are stressing him out, she takes it upon herself to eliminate the distractions. Literally. Sara is in her own world and the rest of us are just visiting.
This novella was pure chaos and I loved every messy second of it. Sara is the type of FMC who will look you dead in your face and swear the sky is green if it helps her delulu storyline make sense. She is so far gone that half the time I was laughing and the other half I was like, girl blink twice if you need therapy. She is committed in a way that is both terrifying and impressive.
The unhinged behavior is strong. The possessiveness is wild. The mental gymnastics Sara performs to convince herself that Jermaine wants her too had me cackling. And when she decides to start “fixing” his problems, I knew we were fully off the rails. There is no universe where this woman is safe for public consumption, and yet I could not look away.
It is quick, messy and entertaining, and it feels like watching someone’s toxic group chat come to life. If delusion had a spokesperson, it would be Sara. If obsession could file taxes, it would write her name on the form.
I closed this novella grinning because it gave everything it promised and then some. If you enjoy short, chaotic reads featuring a MC who is three minutes away from a restraining order, this is the one.
“I didn’t like to get violent, but some people just deserved it.”
A captivating unhinged MC? I will always be locked in. This is my first book from the author & I am not mad at it. Ms. Sara did not have her ducks in a row but I was fully entertained by her delusion. J.D Southwell gave us 74 pages of: -chaos -unwell MCs -a relatable storyline -fast paced plots -& a satisfying conclusion
If you are looking for a novella that will make you laugh but also have you concerned then this is the book for you.
Sara is the type of unhinged and delusional character that I like to see! I loved this short and to the point novella. I love the chapter titles. Sara was so delusional that it was funny. This was easily a 5 star read for me.
I love unhinged books and this one is an add to TBR. Think of it as a modern Fatal Attraction with a twist. This was a quick fun read, 100 % would recommend.
