The Billionaire's Bargain: An Obsessed Romance

Rate this book
Shy little Alice Clark doesn’t mean to cause trouble. She’s just trying to make it through another shift, balancing plates and pouring coffee, when her worst nightmare happens—she spills an entire cup of scalding hot coffee on him.

Alexander Grant. Billionaire. Titan of industry. A man so powerful, people barely dare to look him in the eye.

But he’s looking at her.

And he’s not looking away.

One moment, she’s apologizing, stammering, blushing furiously. The next, she’s trapped in his grasp, his dark, heated gaze burning through her defenses. Alice doesn’t know what she’s just awakened in him, but Alexander does.

Obsession.

She’s soft. She’s innocent. She’s his. She just doesn’t know it yet.

So he makes her a deal. One month. Thirty days in his world. At his side. In his bed. In exchange, he’ll make her family’s problems disappear.

Alice should refuse. Alexander is intense, overwhelming, dangerous. But when he touches her? When he growls her name like it belongs to him? There’s no escaping the fire that consumes them both.

But what happens when thirty days isn’t enough?

When Alexander decides he’s never letting her go?

The Billionaire’s Bargain is an all-consuming, possessive romance with an alpha who doesn’t ask—he claims. Safe, filthy, and utterly unhinged in the best way.

So this book had potential. I thought the plot line itself was good. Characters were okay but I don’t know if there was just a massive editing miss or what but sadly there were so many inconsistencies that it was very distracting. For instance, the whole scene that sets things off in the diner and he gives her his card and barely touches her hand and she is holding it when he leaves. Then a few scenes over it says he put it in her pocket and grabbed her hip. Another is when it clearly states he is only wearing a black shirt but suddenly he has a jacket and is wrapping her in it. There were so many more. But that, of course, is just my opinion, and others may enjoy it.

DNF

Lost interest when I read this quote: «Not beautiful in the conventional sense that adorns the women I usually take to my bed.»

I don’t like stories with any MC that does casual sx. Even if it’s before meeting the FMC.

This book, novella was way too similar to the last one. Perhaps that’s not a big deal for a palate cleaner, but perhaps I shouldn’t read them back-to-back.

Also, sloppy editing. Last names weren’t consistent, and neither was the timeframe.

Consistency is errors made this a difficult read. Plot and spice were fine, but the fact her name and ages changed within the story multiple times was truly frustrating.

Wish I was Alice!

I really LOVED the characters and their story. I only wish it were longer. Their angst was just enough and their love obvious to everyone but them. It was beautiful to see it unfold.

I would have given it a 5 if there had not been so many mistakes. Alice had three different last names. I notice that stuff and it distracts me from what I’m reading at the time. And then I have to start the paragraph over, or go back and check.

Started promising but I could not get attached to the characters or storyline that much. But a nice, quick read.

Didn't like it the first time.

This is the exact same story as the first book in the series. Different details EXACT same story.
Poor girl, sick mother, young brother. Billionaire swoops in.

This story is littered with detail mistakes, typos, and other errors.

I'm annoyed that I thought this sounded good so I bought this and the first one. They're the same, and both awful.

It was fine, but pretty similar to the first book and it seemed like there were a lot of continuity errors that kind of took me out of the story.

This was fine. The writing is quite easy to read and mostly engaging, but I found the plot a little on the dull side. The premise itself felt a little bit flimsy to me – I know there’s an element of suspension of disbelief with stories like this but it didn’t read true to me that this character, who loves her family so much, didn’t even give them the courtesy of saying goodbye when she left. I also didn’t understand how her mother got so sick (in the specific way she did, with dehydration etc) when she was meant to be receiving round-the-clock care.

Anyway – it was just a quick read and I didn’t devote much time to it, so it was okay but I don’t think I’ll be reading anything from this author in the future.

Content Notes: Instalust, instalove, bargains/deals/wagers, millionaire/billionaire, forced proximity
