Killer Crush: True Crime Turns Deadly
Miranda’s life is stuck on repeat. Trapped in a lifeless marriage and desperate for something more, she finds herself obsessed with solving the mystery of her best friend's murder. Fueled by true crime documentaries and a need for justice, she believes Macy’s killer is still walking free. Then, on a whim, she writes to a convicted murderer she saw on Dateline, thinking it’ll just add a little thrill to her otherwise boring existence. But when her dark curiosity spins out of control, Miranda finds herself caught in something far more dangerous than she ever imagined. What started as a search for justice might end with a body count.
Okay I’m gonna be real with you. This one pulled me in right away and did not let go. I love anything that gives off true crime energy, and Killer Crush delivered that vibe in a fictional setting that felt fresh and sharp. Miranda is exactly the kind of character I love to follow. She’s not perfect, she’s not polished, but she’s got grit and obsession that made me root for her even when I was yelling at her in my head.
She’s convinced her best friend Macy was murdered by her stepdad and will not rest until she proves it. She studies true crime cases like it’s her job and gets in way too deep when she contacts a killer behind bars. Oh and shout out to author Elisa D. Daniels getting a mention. That was such a fun touch.
Miranda’s stuck in a lifeless marriage with Jared and it really adds to that trapped feeling, like you totally get why she’s chasing danger. And let me tell you, the twists? Just when I thought we hit the final one, BOOM another hit. My jaw was literally on the floor. Twice.
I love that it takes place in Oklahoma during spring, which gave it this oddly serene backdrop to all the chaos. Short chapters kept things moving at full speed and made it easy to say “just one more” until the entire book was gone. Brooke Montoya writes in a way that feels real and punchy, like you’re hearing this story from a friend who’s been dying to spill the tea.
If you're into true crime podcasts, murder mysteries, and characters who walk the line between curious and reckless, this one should absolutely be on your list.
The Vibes it Brings:
🧠 True Crime Obsession
🌸 Springtime in Oklahoma
📺 Dateline Energy
💔 Bored Wife in a Cold Marriage
💌 Forbidden Flirtation
🚨 Danger Creeping In
⏩ Fast Paced Plot
📚 Short Chapters
👀 Jaw-Dropping Twists
📖 Completely Unputdownable
🫣 Suspense from Start to Finish
Killer Crush is one of those reads where you think you’ve figured it out… and then you realize you absolutely have not. It’s fast, it’s wild, and it has that addictive mix of danger and drama that makes you want to text your bookish bestie the second you finish. Brooke Montoya gives us a story that’s both thrilling and grounded in emotion. If you like morally gray leads, crime-driven suspense, and plotlines that spiral in the best way, definitely give this one a shot. I was given a copy of Killer Crush. All opinions are my own.

Thanks for the opportunity to read this ARC. This was wickedly good book.

This was a fast paced little thriller! The cover reeled me in. Pink always gets me 💕 Picture a bored, neglected housewife trying to be a web homicide detective. Then add in her obsession with a sexy prison pen pal. A few more grammatical errors than I would’ve expected at this stage but overall would recommend for a quick easy read.

Okay, listen. I knew Miranda was in trouble the second she dropped that letter in the mailbox. I was practically yelling at her like I was watching a horror movie—“Girl, NO. You don’t write to the handsome murderer!” But did she listen? Of course not. And that’s when the fun began.
Brooke Montoya does it again with Killer Crush—this book is like popcorn: buttery, addicting, and just a little greasy in the best way. It starts with Miranda, a woman stuck in a life so boring you can almost hear the fluorescent lights buzzing above her head. So what does she do? She spices things up by writing a letter to a hot convicted killer she saw on TV. I mean… I’ve heard of pen pals, but this is next-level.
At first, it’s kind of funny in a what-could-go-wrong? kind of way. But then the air shifts. Suddenly, there’s tension crawling up your spine. The scent of danger seeps in like smoke under a door. And before you know it, Miranda’s knee-deep in a situation that smells less like adventure and more like uh-oh.
The pacing is perfect—fast enough to keep you flipping pages, but with just enough time to make you second-guess everyone and everything. And can we talk about the way Brooke writes chemistry? It’s the kind of slow-burn, twisted fascination that makes you want to grab Miranda by the shoulders and shake some sense into her—but also see what happens next.
This book had me giggling, gasping, and muttering “Miranda, girl, no” more times than I care to admit. If you like your thrillers with a splash of romance, a dollop of bad decisions, and a heaping spoonful of what the heck is she doing??—this one’s for you.
Highly recommend reading with the lights on… and maybe locking your mailbox.

⭐️⭐️.5/5
🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 - quite a bit of smut towards the end.
Miranda's life is stuck on repeat and her husband, Jared, pays her no attention except for when he wants something. One of her past times, like all of us who read this book, is to watch true crime and speculate if s/he was truly guilty or not.
In the case of Miranda, she decides that Luke is not guilty and writes to him, which of course is the first NO, but does she listen to herself or her friend... nope. They exchange many letters until her life changes forever.
Pro's
* good back story - trying to solve the dead best friend's murder (although not enough)
* fast paced
* defs a couple points of yelling
Con's
* unsure the perspective of the last chapter
* not much on the best friend other than right at the end, like tell me why you believe it was someone else.
but I will say if you like a very quick psychological thriller or keen to get into them, this is a good starting point. Sadly I don't think this quite hit the mark for me but thats ok. (and a wee warning for smut)

Another great one by Brooke Montoya. I loved Creep and this one did not disappoint. Really liked the plot and was shocked by the ending in more than one way. Let's just say, I will never look at Barney (yes, the purple dinosaur) the same. 😳🙈🚿😂

I wanted to love this book. I DESPERATELY wanted to at least like it. Everything the author describes it as appealed to me. It’s local. The writing to a killer in jail and having a crush. Forbidden love. Fast paced with short chapters. I anticipated it so much I shared it with a local thriller group encouraging others to read it with me and started closely following the author.
Unfortunately my excitement fell away quickly. Even two stars feels generous. Let’s talk about the book first- the main character is a selfish, hypocritical, alcoholic who reminds me a of a junior high student. The forbidden romance is done at break neck speed that makes it hard to even pretend to believe it. Additionally, the amount of suspending your disbelief to accept it just works out like that for the plot? Overwhelming. Also… who would leave their dog without a second thought?
I would have held out though- different strokes for different folks except this book has several typos, plot holes, and contradictions that are less than a page apart from each other. There’s verb tense that contradicts, sentence fragments, and missing punctuation galore. Even the last chapter is so poorly written and jarring due to that that the last bit of surprise is overshadowed. If the author has an editor or group of beta readers, before her next fiction novel she desperately needs to find a new team.

Killer Crush
-Brooke Montoya
Killer Crush is a masterfully curated psychological thriller by Montoya that showcases her exceptional talent. As a longtime admirer of Montoya’s work, I can confidently say that she has outdone herself with this latest narrative. From start to finish, I experienced a whirlwind of emotions—intrigue, shock, anger, relief, sadness—the whole continuum! It was a perfect blend of suspense, drama, love, murder, and unexpected twists that kept me on the edge of my seat, eagerly checking off every feeling.
The story begins with Miranda (FMC), who returns to the unsolved murder of her best friend, Macy, each year, going over all the case work to see if she can find anything missing. While her husband, Jared, supports her investigative research, she feels increasingly ignored in their marriage, suspecting he may be unfaithful with his late nights and weekends filled with work. During a rare, shared evening watching Dateline, Miranda learns about a serial killer named Luke (MMC) in California and impulsively writes him a letter, finding him intriguing and the evidence a little sloppy against him. To her surprise, he responds, leading her down a path she never anticipated. As she navigates her feelings for Luke and the impending dangers, Miranda faces critical choices that could alter not just her life, but the lives of others as well. Will her intoxicating fascination lead her down the right path and unscathed or will her killer crush be just that?
Miranda is both complex and frustrating; I often wanted to shake her out of her complacency! Her naivety about the life she takes for granted puts her - and others - in jeopardy, but this complexity is what makes Montoya’s character development so compelling. I felt a genuine connection with Miranda and the other characters, making the story even more immersive. It was like I was right there with them, not just a reader observing from afar.
Montoya vividly paints each scene, blending ambiance and narrative seamlessly. The tension and emotion are palpable, drawing readers into the unfolding drama. Just when you think you’ve grasped the story's direction, she throws in unexpected twists that culminate in a breathtaking finale - so buckle up, readers, because it’s an exhilarating ride!
The only downside? The ending left me wanting more! Without giving too much away, I found it surprisingly sad for the story to end the way it did. I would have loved for the adventure to continue on, and on, and on. But that is the beauty of authors, they always enthrall us with their next adventure leaving us wanting more!
Overall, if you're a fan of psychological thrillers (in particular, a good psychological mind f*ck), Killer Crush deserves a spot on your reading list. Miranda’s journey is a gripping tale that you won’t want to miss!

Killer Crush by Brooke Montoya Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
THIS book!! Wow! Of the two of her books I have read so far, this one is by far my favorite!
From the very first page I was hooked and by the 3rd chapter I could not put it down, in fact I read the majority of it and finished it in one day. This book has all the elements that keep me hooked through a book: Mystery, shock, disbelief, love, hate, obsession, guilt, betrayal, suspense, and the twists toward the end... so good and I didn't figure it out! A complete whirlwind of emotions all the way through.
Miranda is married, but not happily. There is something missing. He is attractive and makes a great living, but he works all the time and something just feels off. She can't help feeling he is being unfaithful. Miranda, still reeling from the murder of her best friend years ago and the unsolved case surrounding it, continues to try and piece together what happened to her friend. One night while sitting with Jared, her husband, she turns on her favorite show, Dateline and learns about a serial killer named Luke that is accused of killing college girls and is sent to San Quentin Prison in California. After watching the episode her and Jared share their views on Luke and the situation. Miranda just can't help feeling he was possibly wrongly accused and while also feeling lonely in her relationship, she decides to write Luke a letter in Prison. Surprisingly.... He writes her back! The letters go back and forth and Miranda starts catching feelings for Luke while she grapples with the lack of attention she is getting from Jared. The rollercoaster of what comes next sends you racing to turn the page. AND THAT I DID! (no more on this as I don't want to give more away so... moving on).
Miranda will have you gasping in disbelief and have you questioning everything! She will leave you sad, upset, annoyed, and honestly bewildered. You want to like her, but can you with all that she has done?
Montoya illustrates a story that honestly isn't too far from reality. People befriend prisoners all the time. I could completely see how this story could play out in real time. Her characters are amazing and this book was a fantastic read!
My only reason for giving it 4-1/2 Stars rather than 5 was because of a timeline detail mid-story that didn't sit well with me that could have made it just a tad more believable. This as well as a couple grammatical errors that the author was gracious to accept my feedback for edits. Otherwise this would have been 5 Stars for sure!
Brook Montoya has created an absolute Psychological Twisted Mindf*ck Masterpiece with Killer Crush! I can't wait for you all to get your hands on it to read for yourself!

Again I wish Good reads allowed half stars. I’d give this book a 3.5 even though there were some annoyances in typos. Short chapters, and fast faced! Also super intriguing. I started this book at 11pm and read it on and off at work til the morning. I just had to get to the end. It was a greater journey reading it than the mistakes that were there. This book being so wrapped in true crime had me invested!
Miranda is stuck in a boring seemingly loveless marriage to her husband Jared. She has a longing to get her best friend Macys killer behind bars and give her the justice she deserves. Every year she reopens Macys’ case file and tries to find anything missed with the help of true crime shows. One night, while watching a dateline episode with her husband, she is entranced by an episode with a gorgeous man named Luke who is accused of being a serial killer. His lawyer is appealing his case and she wonders if someone so handsome could be so evil. With her life being on repeat, her husband paying more attention to work than her, she decides to get some excitement and write the inmate. What’s the worst that can happen? He probably won’t even respond back. But when he does, her boring life suddenly has meaning. She has something to look forward to each week. Her marriage is falling apart as she grows feelings for this pen pal, she finds herself in a situation far more dangerous than she ever expected.
There were quite a few grammatical mistakes in this book, but the story flowed so quickly I was able to look past it for the most part. When speaking of Macy’s stepdad, she referred to him as Stephen, then Steve and then Steven which are all close enough but had confused me for a quick second.
I felt like I was watching a horror movie while yelling at the main character to be smarter! Another reason I couldn’t put this book down. The twist at the end was a good one although I seen it coming it was still great. I’m so glad I asked for recommendations on a quick read and found this gem!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Killer Crush is the kind of thriller that makes you want to scream at the main character… and then immediately turn the page to see how bad it gets.
Brooke Montoya taps perfectly into true crime obsession culture. The late night Dateline binges, the armchair sleuthing, the dangerous belief that watching crime means you understand it. Miranda starts from a place that feels relatable: boredom, grief, and a craving for something that makes her feel alive again. Writing to a convicted killer seems harmless at first. After all, he’s locked up. What could possibly go wrong?
Everything.
What makes this book work so well is Miranda herself. She’s flawed, impulsive, emotionally starved, and deeply human. You don’t always agree with her choices, but you understand them. And that makes the tension unbearable. Every interaction feels like a step closer to the edge, and Montoya does an excellent job letting that dread creep in slowly rather than rushing it.
The pacing is sharp and addictive, helped by short chapters and a steady drip of twists that keep resetting what you think you know. Just when you feel confident about where the story is heading, it swerves. Then it does it again. And again. The emotional stakes stay grounded even as the danger escalates, which makes the suspense hit harder.
Killer Crush is fun in a dark, reckless way, but it’s also smart. It explores obsession, loneliness, and the illusion of control in a way that feels timely and unsettling. If you love true crime energy, morally gray characters, and thrillers that spiral fast once the fuse is lit, this book absolutely delivers.
Highly recommend! Just maybe don’t start it late at night unless you’re okay with losing sleep.

Thank you to BookSiren for the ARC.
I am voluntarily leaving this review. I always try to leave constructive reviews so I hope my review helps.
I absolutely LOVED the idea of the plot. And that is why I've rated it 3/5
What it lacked was emotion. It was very clear that Miranda couldn't let go of Macy's murder never been properly solved. The first couple of chapters etches it in your memory to the point of it being moot. Instead of dragging the same point over and over, I think I would've liked to have seen more of Miranda and Jared's marriage. There were so many subplots unexplored there.
I understand that it's meant to be a quick read but I think setting up Miranda's and Luke's relationship through their letters should've been a little slower paced. Because I was screaming at Miranda, "WOMAN YOU'RE BEING STUPID" from the moment she decided to write to Luke.
As a reader, I'm meant to want Miranda to write to Luke and then if I suffer the consequences vicariously through her, I'll be more immersed in the world of the story. I mean isn't that the point of every ficticious book we read?
I was too disassociated from the book and that just didn't let me truly enjoy reading it. It wasn't not a fun read. I just truly think it could've been better.
However I do think this book will be liked by someone out there since the plot is rather enticing. It's what brought me to the book in the first place.

Killer Crush by Brooke Montoya
4.0⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 3/5
Cursing: min
Format/Source: ebook from author and BookSirens
Genres/Tropes: Thriller, twisty, suspense
Audience: Adult
Setting: Oklahoma
Quotes: "But be careful passing judgment because you never know what decisions you might make one day that could cause you not to recognize yourself." - Miranda
Characters: Miranda, Macy, Jared, Luke, Hazel, Patty, Steve
👍 short chapters, FMC book lover, characters reading real indie authors' books, fast-paced, easy read, twists
👎 cursing, far-fetched
Description:
Miranda is in trouble. Intrigued by a case she saw on an episode of Dateline, she sends a letter to a convicted killer in hopes of making her boring life a little more exciting. He's gorgeous and a bit dangerous, but she's safe because he's locked away in prison with a life sentence. But Miranda’s game of fun quickly becomes complicated, and she must figure out how to stop what she has started before things turn deadly.
Opinion:
Brooke crushes another twist-filled thriller ride of a novel with intriguing characters. I always appreciate reading a book with a FMC who loves reading almost as much as I do! 😉 I loved that Montoya had Miranda reading real indie authors' books. I did, however, find Miranda (a knowledgeable woman) writing a convicted felon in prison a little far-fetched...but still entertaining. Killer Crush is a fast-paced, easy read with twists that will have your head spinning. Personal preference - I didn't care for the cursing. I was thoroughly entertained by this story and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys twisty thriller novels.

I got an ARC in return for my honest review; no compensation has been received, so these are my true thoughts on this book.
I think I would rate this a 3.5 but it is worth rounding up!
This story is captivating from the beginning. As a true crime junkie myself, which seems to be the trend for many women as they enter their 30s and 40s, the story was instantly relatable and I was intrigued by the characters.
This is a story of Miranda, who lost her friend to an unsolved murder in her teens. She is now an adult, married, and in a "funk" phase it appears, in both her marriage and her life. True crime is her out, and it is also the TV time she and her husband share (which I am also sure many can relate in long term relationships...)
I don't want to put any spoilers in this review, but know this book was a great read! Easy and quick, and I didn't want to put it down.
The angles of young grief, and adulthood plateau in life, the look for a "spark" again in oneself.. I don't think there are many people that won't relate to Miranda.

Pass on this one
When I saw another new release from Brooke Montoya, I immediately stopped the book I had been reading and picked it up. Unfortunately, I didn't like Killer Crush as much as I enjoyed Creep and Night Moves.
Killer Crush seemed rushed. The story is told in first person, so we get to know Miranda fairly well, but the other characters were not well developed. The story mentions Miranda's dog several times, but I can't begin to visualize what he looked because no description of him was ever given. Where she is descriptive however, is in the many sex scenes she writes. In many ways, Montoya's writing style is similar to that of Freida McFadden with its easy to read and short chapters, and this book definitely ends with a twist I did not predict.
As with previous novels by Brooke Montoya books, Killer Crush desperately needs editing. If cost is a factor in hiring a professional editor, I would encourage her to at least form an ARC team to help. The ideas are good in her books, but the delivery needs work.

It was okay but I wanted to love it. I loved the idea of the premise having seen ladies write to convicted murderers in a good few cases both modern and historical and I liked the idea of a dangerous Hybristophiliac (individual who has a sexual attraction to criminals) Thriller but the execution for me was not great.
Overall it wasn't the worst, I did enjoy reading it and was interested in where the plot was going but there was a lot of depth missing in my opinion, there could have been better build-up, Miranda could have been a little more likeable and Luke could have been less obvious.

🤯🤯🤯🤯 The way that I was silent screaming early this morning in finishing this! The twists and turns that this had. GIRL!!!! You know how to slay me, okay?!
I cannot tell yall how many times I looked at my kindle sideways and said, 'I know you lying..... no seriously. I👏🏽KNOW👏🏽THAT👏🏽THIS👏🏽WOMAN👏🏽IS👏🏽LYING! WHAT IN THE WHAT?!' My internal commentary was hilarious! This could not be real life with me because I probably would've been that friend that said, 'If you don't stop with this dumb stuff right now. Girl. You need a hug??' 🤣🤣🤣
I don't want to go into because I will mess around and spoil it by accident so I'm going to be quiet 🤫😬🫣 It makes you wonder about the dynamics of marriage and how each other is feeling within their marriage. That's all I have to say about that *in my Forrest Gump voice while sitting on the bench waiting for the bus with my box of chocolates* 🤣🤣
This book was amazing! I'm ready for the another!

Trashy and fun
This book reminded me of the erotica-thriller straight to video movies that appeared in the 80s and 90s. Lots of sex, plot twists, and morally compromised characters.
Our protagonist, Miranda, is stuck in a dead end marriage. She begins writing letters to handsome Luke, a convicted prisoner many states away. And... let's just say things get tricky.
There were some great twists, but also many pages where not much really happens.
The writing tense (present, past etc.) seemed to switched around for no reason.
But, overall, I enjoyed it. Best line: My fight or flight system has sent chemicals coursing through my brain and body, but both options are arguing with each other.

The story drew me in and kept me interested throughout. I finished the book in two days as I just wanted to know what was going to happen. There were some grammar mistakes and the way some of it was worded threw me off a bit but that was all very minor. I was not a fan of the FMC as I found her quite naive and the reason I didn't give this 5 stars was due to the story being a bit predictable (also having to do with why I couldn't bring myself to like the FMC). I had an idea of what was going to happen just not how it was going to play out. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and easy read.

Miranda is stuck in a loveless marriage but her love for true crime leads her to becoming a pen pal with a man convicted of murder. She thinks she's just having a bit of fun. He's in prison, so what could possibly go wrong? There are a few surprises that I didn't see coming!
This is a fast-paced book with short chapters that just flies by. The only issue I had with this book was that it was maybe too fast-paced. A few times, I found myself thinking, "Slow down. Tell me more about this."
My second book by Brooke and I liked it a lot! I already own Night Moves, but delayed reading it when I got the chance to read this one and I don't regret it!

The premise of this story was good, cwhich is what earned it my rating. Miranda is obsessed with her friend Macy's death years earlier and intent on rehashing and investigating every detail again andxmagain. At the same time she suspects her husband Jarred of being unfaithful. Per chance, while watching Dateline one night, she makes the decision to contact a serial killer in prison. She believes the evidence against him is scratchy. Thus unfolds this story.
I found the character of Miranda frustrating and the ending unfulfilling but I would read this author again. I received an advance copy of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.4 stars

Thank you to BookSirens for an ARC of Killer Crush by Brooke Montoya.
This is a very fast paced thriller. The premise is great but the characters are just, well, stupid.
Miranda, especially. Stuck in a boring, lifeless marriage, obsessed with true crime, obsessed with finding the killer of her best friend years ago. She decides to write to a death-row killer and to no one's surprise she's suddenly found her soul mate.
When the plot turned into a Dateline episode I truly had to start pretending Miranda had even a speck of integrity but it quickly came to its inevitable conclusion with a nice twist at the end.

NOOO, Miranda!!! 😱 A twisty, terrifying thrill ride you won’t forget.
From the first chapter, I knew I was in trouble—in the best way. Killer Crush is the kind of book that grabs you by the hair and drags you down the rabbit hole of obsession, danger, and impulsive decisions that spiral into chaos.
I lost count of how many times I was screaming in my head, “NO, don’t do that Miranda!!” 😩😭 But I couldn’t stop reading. Could. Not. Stop. This story is what happens when curiosity, boredom, and a hot, convicted murderer collide—and it does not hold back.
Miranda? A walking red flag—but I loved her anyway.

I read this book in less than 24 hours and I only put it down because I “had” to get some sleep….. which was tough to do because I wanted to keep reading and was so into the storyline. This was an amazing edge of your seat type of story! The final twist….. didn’t see that coming!
The writer and journalist in me did notice numerous editing things that didn’t get caught in the final review of this book, though. That being said, though…. My only complaint!
So far the best thriller I’ve read this year! Loved it from start to finish.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I also purchased a copy to share with my reader friends!

This book was enjoyable but It was the end that really took it from a 3.5 to a 4 star for me, I was not expecting the double twist at the end. I could really feel where Miranda was caught in a frustrating cycle of loneliness and boredom in the beginning and the author did a good job of putting us into her frame of mind. What may have kept me from giving a five star is that the transition into the second half seemed a little abrupt. Maybe if it was a little longer it could have had a smoother transition. This book was a fast read that pulled me right into the story. Miranda is bored in her marriage and only works to get out of the house. Every year she pulls out her file on her best friend, Macy's, murder. She's desperate to solve it and doesn't want the police to let it turn into a cold case. In her boredom she decides to start writing letters to Luke who is in prison for murder and rape. They immediately open up to each other which quickly leads to them developing feelings. While the outcome was a bit predictable I loved the crazy ride of this story!

What a wildly good thriller!
This is a CAN NOT PUT DOWN BOOK!
And that cover?!? Ummm yes please!
I think each book Brooke writes gets better and better if that is even possible.
This story drew me in from the very beginning and didn't let up to where I was on the edge of my seat holding on. You will feel emotions throughout the book, which is a huge bonus for me.
Easy to read, suspense, drama, thrills, twists and spice, what more can you ask for in a book?
If you want a book you can binge, this would be one for you!

I give this book a solid rating of 3. Killer crush does pull you in right from the start and the “twist/reveal” at the end is good and unexpected. Killer crush overall fell flat for me. The FMC is dumb as a box of rocks for starters. l don’t typically get upset by the dumb woman trope but this one was just overly dense. There are a few plot holes that I was confused by about the antagonist, can’t share them without being a spoiler but they just didn’t make sense. There are some spicy scenes that didn’t bother me but may bother some. Also check for trigger warnings. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

KiIIer Crush by Brooke Montoya is a playful thriller with a shocking end, oh my gosh, that end took me by surprise! Whatever I expected I didn't expect this.
If you play with the fire get ready to be burnt, this is something that Miranda needed to learn before she started a risky game with Luke, a convicted kiIIer who was serving his life sentence in the maximum security prison.
This is an absolutely fast and easy read. Partly I forgot that I was reading a thriller, it was so engaging! At the end action and suspense kicked in and put you on the edge of the seat!.
Thank you Booksirens for this copy.
