As far back as he can remember, Philip Karl has always wanted to play football, just like his dad. Recruited by Tennessee University in 1982 as their star quarterback, Philip plays an essential role in catapulting the floundering program that ranked dead last in their division, to a national championship in just three years time, becoming the most sought-after quarterback in all of college football. Yet after an unfortunate motor vehicle accident, his worst nightmare is realized when a frightening medical secret is revealed during a time when fear and panic is not only pervasive, but contagious. With his perfect image now tarnished seemingly beyond repair, Philip must make the courageous decision either to continue playing the game that he loves in the face of relentless criticism or give in to the overwhelming pressures of public opinion and end his lifelong dream of becoming a professional quarterback.
