Dragon and Gargoyle #3

A Dragon, a Gargoyle, and a Faery Steal the Show

Rate this book
"No more work!" was the motto of the holiday, until a case finds Detectives Aiden Moss and Torloch Doyle, and names them prime suspects.

Dragons and gargoyles have been cold-shoulder enemies for centuries, and Torloch Doyle has just the solution to break the age-old ice - invite Aiden to the new gargoyle Queen's coronation, and show them just how much fun his fire-breathing friend really is!

With such a brilliant idea, what could possibly go wrong? a lot.

When Aiden is accused of an unthinkable crime, Loch and company have to prove his innocence, before descaling becomes less "so last century" and more "what will happen to Aiden Moss if his friends fail".

Hi! I’m Lisa.

I love all things books, especially happy romance books. I love writing. I enjoy formatting text, finding book covers, and editing.

And of course, I love reading which is what lead me down this path of writing. Plus these characters pop in my head and I enjoy jotting them down and seeing where they lead me.

I live in Florida but rarely go to the beach, and always wear black. My favorite place to visit is Ireland.

I count on my three cats to bother me while I’m trying to create the words and on the countless gargoyles in my collection to listen carefully when I read aloud. My hot hubby likes to listen in as well.

Thanks for dropping in and checking out my books. Cheers!

After finishing book 2 I couldn't wait to rush along to the boys next adventure, and damn I was not disappointed. I've absolutely fallen in love with this series with this one being my favourite so far. Once again these two charming detectives have dragged me along for the ride and I've found a new favourite word to cuss with, (thanks guys) with shenanigans abound, fantastic humor and another great story, this is fast becoming one of my favourite series.

When Loch drags his dragon friend Aiden along to the new gargoyle Queen's coronation, he does so with only the very best of intentions. For gargoyle's and dragon's have been embroiled in a deep rooted feud for centuries. Hoping to show Aiden a different side to the gargoyle culture, Loch's hopes go up in flames when his friend is arrested. In a race against time, Loch, along with his boss, a witch and a vampire need to prove Aiden's innocence before the threat of descaling a dragon becomes a reality.

If I didn't love Loch before I definitely do now, the outgoing, brash gargoyle really does have a heart of gold in amongst his mischievous ways. Thinking he can bridge the divide between their two species, he invites Aiden to the gargoyle event of the century hoping that the reclusive dragon will live a little instead of burying himself in paperwork and his beloved books and have some fun. But when everything comes crashing down, he proves just how much his friend means to him by stopping at nothing to prove his innocence and save his life. I absolutely loved seeing more to the gargoyle culture and it was a great insight to some of the prejudice between the two races. Yep I'm definitely swooning over the gargoyle.

And my adorablely cute, nerdy book dragon Aiden who wouldn't know how to cause trouble most of the time, finds himself in the deepest pile of it after accepting Loch's invitation. Even though he isn't comfortable and faces some prejudice about being at the coronation, he makes the best of the situation, while still being his kind and gentle self. And I totally loved that he even manages to be a geek, finding an itinerary for the order of events and research facts to tell Loch, yep this is the dragon I've come to know and love and I wouldn't change him for the world. I'd also like the story of how he and Loch first met because I have a feeling that would be very entertaining.

I don't normally pick a favourite quote but this one had me laughing so hard I couldn't resist.

"The sword maybe the sharpest tool, but they still say the pen is mightier," "I'll happily take the role of the pen in this proverbial shed, as the role of tool seems to be filled at the moment." - Aiden Moss.

I'm off to book 4 as I can't wait to see what these two get into next and I have a feeling it's gonna be a lot of fun. So if you like mischievous gargoyles and nerdy book dragons this series is for you. Highly recommend 😁

Loch has convinced Aiden to accompany him to the coronation celebration of the gargoyle queen despite the years of animosity between gargoyles and dragons.
Although welcome by Loch’s family and friends, there is a definite undercurrent of dislike against Aiden. While enjoying himself during the coronation games and meals Aiden is feeling scrutiny on him.
When Aiden is arrested immediately after the coronation for unknown reasons, Doyle enlists help from Warren, leprechaun head of KPOC as well as a wolf shifter lawyer. Selina, the vampire that is for Loch, and Claudine, the green witch love of Aiden, also have parts to play.
This book is a lot of fun with all the games/contests that the gargoyles have in the three days before the coronation. Of course there is a massive amount of food eaten. There are great descriptions of everything and everybody.
But the main part of the book is the mystery of why Aiden was arrested, how the charges came about and who set him up. There is also the question of who broke into the detectives’ house while they were away and the ongoing Harpy situation.
I don’t think there was anything that I didn’t like about this book. Although I wish that the detectives would get somewhere with their ladyloves.
I’m loving this series.

Gargoyle Olympics and Po!itics

I thoroughly enjoy each Dragon and Gargoyle story, eagerly looking forward to the next one. This looks to be the best yet.
Gargoyle Detective Torloch persuades reluctant dragon partner Aiden to go with him to the Gargoyle Games. Celebrating the new Queen, it's three days of fierce sports competitions. What could happen? Glad you asked. By the book, straitlaced Aiden is arrested! Accused of stealing a coronation gift, Aiden is jailed. Only their long suffering Director, Warren, gets him released to home arrest with his dragon nature subdued by a magic bracelet. Torloch and the whole KPOC team have to figure out who framed Aiden and why. Oh, the faery in the title? That's Rudy, the son of Queen Mab of the Unseelie court. In his bumbling way he contributes to the investigation. With time running short, Torloch searches for answers to save his friend. This story is both enthralling and very funny. Is this is your first-time encounter with Torloch snd Aiden, you'll want to read the whole series. I can guarantee it!

Very enjoyable.
Loch takes Aiden to the coronation of the gargoyle queen where the food is always good and the entertainment were games that were quite different. Aiden met Loch's best friends and was starting to enjoy himself but kept feeling that he was being followed. Just as the coronation started Aiden was arrested for theft. Loch goes all out for his partner and friend. Though more serious than the previous books there are humorous parts throughout.

My favorite duo are back and so is trouble. These two are a riot and this one just shows the trouble they can find and get into. Lots of drama, intrigue, mystery and trouble to keep me reading and entertained. Plus had to see who the bad guy was and what trouble these two would have to get out of. Loved it,

amusing

I think this is the best book in the series so far and it makes me want to go on to read more about the dragon and the gargoyle. I hope the fairy has a bit more of a role to play in the next book. The mystery is fabulous and it all turns out well in the end, so well worth reading

another winner in this series

Loch and Aiden just keep on rocking along. Will either of them ever get brave enough to ask the women they love to go out on a date? Oh yeah, this book was a great look into gargoyle life. Aiden got arrested at the gargoyle queen coronation. And Loch did not get char broiled by the dragons coming to Aiden’s rescue. On to book 4!
