The book Storm Rescue is a good book! I really enjoy reading books that have cat characters, like Lucy. It was one of my favorite books that kept me reading for more than 30 minutes. It took me because I liked to read it all over a lot of times(: I also like Siamese cats a lot too. The author added lots of details about Lucy's actions and the characters. This book was my favorite in my opinion because everytime I read it, my Siamese cat Ruca would want to cuddle with me because of the front photo I guess .lol . I was very happy when Sunita did not know how to swim and was brave enough to save Lucy! Good thing we got no big hurricanes here!(:

I liked that the book gave details about Lucy when talking about her breed and defining words and conditions. It was nice that Sunita described her passion for cats. I liked that the animals movements and behaviors were described. It is a good book about bravery and kindness towards animals as a vet volunteer. it tells you what to do with your pet and an emergency and have a plan for them wasn’t encapsulated, but this book is more of a level than my own level. Overall, a sweet book of a cat with health issues.

Sunita and her friends volunteer at their local vet, and they are expecting a storm. This bad weather is making the animals act weird. Lucy, Sunita's favorite cat at the vet is trapped in the attic and can't get out. Will Sunita be able to save her, you'll have to read and see. If you like animals you'll enjoy this book series.

There was some good suspense in this story. The character arc was predictable, but contributed to a nice theme. Some parts of the story were clearly meant to be "teachable moments" for the audience. I did wonder at a vet's office with just two credited professionals and five pre-teen volunteers, but it's a story, so I could suspend my disbelief.

Of all of Dr. Mac’s patients, Lucy, a seal-point Siamese, is Sunita’s favorite. She loves taking care of the cat when her owner, Mrs. Clark, boards her at Dr. Mac’s place. As Hurricane Felix moves up the Atlantic coast towards Ambler, Pennsylvania, it brings a lot of rain. Soon, different parts of town flood, and evacuations begin. When Sunita finds out that Mrs. Clark has been evacuated without Lucy, she knows she must save the diabetic cat. With Maggie and David’s help, they borrow a client’s canoe and row to Mrs. Clark’s house. Flood waters already fill the house. A big tree blocks the way to the attic window where Lucy can be seen and heard. The three children know that Lucy is so frightened that she will only come to Sunita whom she knows and trusts. But, in order to rescue the cat, Sunita must leave the canoe and swim to the window. Sunita is deathly afraid of the water and cannot swim. Somehow, she must prove that she’s not a scaredy-cat.

Really liked this book for those children who love animals. Teaches many different things about animals and how they react to stress from severe storm weather. It did seem a bit stilted and predictable, but I don't think students would notice or be bothered by it. There's a section at the end of the book written about a vet with ideas of how to take care of your pet in the event of a disaster and how to plan ahead. This section is a great idea as, after reading this, a child with a pet, may be concerned about what would happen to the pet in a natural disaster. Belongs to the series: Vet Volunteers.

This book Storm rescue was a very good book. It got my attention everytime I read it. I liked it when Sunita saved Lucy from a storm. My Siamese cat would cuddle with me when I read it. I also enyoy reading about cats. They are my favorite animals:) It was charming and I got emotional when Sunita saved Lucy and Sunita was very brave. I cant wait to read it again with my cat;)

In 'Storm Rescue', young Sunita has to make a difficult decision when a hurricane strikes as it could mean life or death for an injured diabetic cat she cares about. Short and sweet, this story went in the direction one would hope for. Despite her fears and doubts, Sunita displayed true courage in the face of adversity.

I love this series, but I did have one concern with this particular book. I felt I really needed to make it clear to my kids that although we love our pets--you NEVER put yourself in a dangerous position that risks your life to rescue them. <3
