"As long as I’m with you, every moment, whether good or bad, is an exclusive experience you’ve given me.”
I went into this knowing it was a compilation of short extras, so I didn’t judge it the same way I would a main volume. It feels like a quiet breather. A chance to sit with the characters without big plot turns hanging over them. The chapters focus on everyday moments that carry emotional weight because of everything they’ve been through. Birthdays get redone. Old memories resurface during an illness. Jealousy pops up in small, almost petty ways. Public slipups push private feelings into the open. Nothing spirals out of control, and reassurance comes quickly and often. I can see why some people might find it too gentle, but I found something comforting in how steady it felt.
Ye Qin continues to love so openly it almost hurts. He’s dramatic, clingy, proud, jealous, and incredibly tender all at once. The way he seeks reassurance, fusses in the kitchen, remembers dates, and gets playfully possessive made me smile more than once. You can still feel the loneliness and guilt under his bravado, which makes his affection hit harder. Cheng Feichi grounds everything in the quietest way. He doesn’t need grand declarations. His love shows up in preparation, consistency, and firm choices that leave no doubt. Watching Ye Qin unravel and then settle against that calm certainty gave me a sense of relief I didn’t realize I needed.
I do think I would have enjoyed these extras more if I hadn’t read them all in one sitting. The tone is so consistent that it started to blur together for me. Spacing them out might have made each moment land with more impact. Still, I appreciated the intimacy. The small domestic habits. The repeated “I’m yours” energy. It feels like a love built day by day, shaped by memory and accountability. It’s soft, a little indulgent, and very sincere. For what it is, I walked away feeling warm and quietly satisfied.
